Destroyed Two Family Heirlooms
I had been going to Sergio’s for over a decade and didn’t have any issues until I used them to resize my grandfather’s wedding ring for my then fiancé, now husband.
Karl was careless with writing the instructions to recast the ring. My husband went to pick up the ring, and I noticed it was significantly lighter. So I bought a scale. Half the gold was gone. Apparently, the rest of the gold was left in the order envelope and the ring was only hammered to resize instead of being recast like I instructed (my grandpa was a size 13 and my husband is a size 8). So I had to go back to the store... Karl showed no remorse, didn’t offer an apology or acknowledgement of fault. I had to speak to another associate because I was so mad I was in tears. She offered a sincere apology.
Sergio’s is about to send my ring off to their goldsmith and discovers another piece of the hammered out gold is gone, so they call me to confirm the weight of the ring. Another piece of the ring was left in the jewelers desk… At this point I have no idea if they’re being honest and for the rest of my life, I’ll never know if the ring on my husband’s finger is authentically my grandpa’s gold.
Moreover, on a separate occasion before the wedding band fiasco, Karl implied I couldn’t afford a $600-800 travel ring and said my grandmother’s 14k gold, diamond encrusted watch wasn’t worth a $150 appraisal.
After all of disrespect, tears, time driving, time taken off from work, headache and heartbreak, the only thing they offered me was a $120 refund from the original ticket to resize my grandpa’s ring. I had to request to speak to the owner who also subsequently apologized.
I wasn’t going to post this review since I grew up working in my grandpa’s small business and I know it’s tough out there. However, we also asked them to add sizing balls to my late father in law’s tungsten steel wedding band so my husband could have 2 rings, one from each family. This also happened before the resizing of my grandpa’s ring. The metalwork required to do this put stress on the band which inevitably caused the band to shatter into two pieces only 36 hours after we got married when my husband dropped his ring in the bathroom. This was the last straw. If
they would’ve told us this was a possibility, we wouldn’t have gotten the work done.

His expertise in the world of jewelry made selecting the perfect ring easy for me, he even gave me a short class on diamonds before selecting the perfect one to match the setting that I had chosen. Sergio and his entire team were pleasant to work with aND everything we go in they always have smiles on their faces. Love this place and won't make big jewelry purchases anywhere else.
