Violin and Guitar Duo Our Guests Loved

I absolutely loved having Serenata Strings at our wedding for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Karen made the process of selecting our music so personalized and went the extra mile to help us. I was so impressed with their talent on the day of the wedding, and their performance added an exceptional touch of elegance to our special day. Our guests absolutely loved the violin and guitar duo, and I am so glad we hired them to be part of our celebration.

Book Serenata Strings!

Stunning performance! We had a String Quartet from Serenata Strings play for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour on March 8, 2025 and it was breathtaking. We customized our ceremony music and they played each song perfectly! Their talent, professionalism, and attention to detail captivated our guests and made our wedding unforgettable. Great communication by the business owner too! Highly recommend!

Beautiful music

Karen and here team were excellent! Planning was so easy thanks to their guides and they were very responsive and helpful during the process. On the day of, we got so many compliments on how beautiful they sounded. It was a dream to have them!!

Beautiful music; consummate professionals

Not only are they consummate professionals, incredibly skilled and with an extensive repertoire, but they are also easy to work and communicate with. We had wanted to use Sereneta Strings for both the ceremony music and our reception, but we were unclear as to whether we would have the space at our reception venue. It turned out we didn't, but they were so understanding between the back and forth. In the end, our guests could not stop praising them and the atmosphere they created for the ceremony. Highly recommend them - if we ever host another party, we'd be looking to hire them again.

Very Professional & Competitive Rates!

Seranata strings was not only professional but also very accommodating. I was having a wedding and wanted to hire a string quartet to play for the ceremony and the cocktail hour (same venue) so that our guests could enjoy the classiness of the string quartet. The repertoire of music that they could perform is on their website and gave me a good idea of what to expect on the day of the wedding.

I would recommend them for your event to provide a nice classy touch. Certain aspects of communication seemed a bit old school but email worked out perfectly fine. I highly recommend using Seranata strings at your next event because not only do they provide you with a great set of musicians, they have some of the most competitive pricing among other string companies I’ve contacted.

Perfect Wedding Ceremony Music!!

Ceremony Strings!

We hired Serenata Strings for our wedding ceremony and it was one of my favorite parts of the wedding. We had an acoustic guitar and violin playing as people were getting seated as well and post-ceremony as people were leaving. They had such a lovely sound and the process of hiring them was a breeze!

Great for Ceremony + Reception/Cocktail Hour

Serenata Strings created the most beautiful ambiance for our wedding. We booked the violin + guitar ensemble and Karen was so easy to work with when we had some special requests / back and forth on what songs we wanted to hear. They are truly incredible artists and did a great job with the very wide range of requests we threw at them. We had classical music, Bruno Mars, Journey, even some Disney songs, and they played them all perfectly. I felt like they really wanted to make our night special and they put in the effort to show it!

PERFECT! It made alllll the difference to have these professional musicians playing in the chapel for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Everyone loved them and it was beautiful. So perfect and they were attentive and easy to work with as well. Highly recommend!

Wonderful String Quartet!

Amazing musicians and even better people

My husband and I were married on 11/17/19 in an outdoor country wedding ceremony. Serenata Strings provided a string quartet for our outdoor ceremony and the cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony and they were absolutely amazing. They all arrived well before the first guest and stayed through the end of our cocktail hour as planned. My husband is a musician and we had a ton of musicians at our wedding and we heard so many comments on how beautiful the music was. Our wedding day was this gorgeous, clear blue Texas sky day, way out in the country and we were surrounded only by the quiet, peaceful sounds of nature and the music from that beautiful string quartet. The beautiful sounds produced by Karen and her fellow musicians made our wedding ceremony so very special. Karen is not only a very talented musician, but she is an amazing person. In January, when we started this journey of planning our November wedding we were turned away on our first weekend of touring venues because we were a same sex couple and the owner of the venue told us that we were not part of God's plan for marriage. It was heartbreaking. We shared our story and pressed pause on our plans, unsure if we were up to the challenge of planning a wedding in Texas as a gay couple. We were not prepared to come out to every one of our vendors and hope that they would accept us. One of the many vendors that heard our story and jumped to our defense was Karen at Serenata Strings. She offered to play at our wedding for free. We were blown away! She didn't have to do this, we were complete strangers, but she wanted to do it to show that she is committed to equality. It's one thing to say that you are LGBT friendly and welcome business from everyone, it is another to freely give of your time and talents out of the goodness of your heart to help right a wrong. Karen is the real deal. We know that you have plenty of options when hiring musicians for your wedding but if it is important for you to support musicians that are not only incredibly talented, but celebrate all couples (and their guests) then please give Serenata Strings a listen. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

Beautiful ceremony music!

My husband and I were thrilled with the sting quartet that played from Serenata Strings at our wedding ceremony. The music was beautiful. They coordinated and practiced with our vocalist to ensure everything went well on the wedding day. Really enjoyed working with them and would recommend!

Wonderful string quartet!

We would highly recommend Serenata Strings! We had their string quartet play at our wedding ceremony at the Adolphus. They did a fantastic job, beautiful music. Leading up to the event, it was easy to correspond with Karen regarding the contract and deciding on music selections. A memorable and elegant part of the wedding ceremony!

Highly recommended... Absolutely beautiful music!

I knew from the reviews that the music performed by Serenata Strings at my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding ceremony would be lovely. It was not only lovely, it was tremendously moving and timed perfectly. Their amazing string duet was performed by Karen (violinist) and Jenna (cellist). I am still getting calls about how beautiful the ceremony music was. Our contact was Karen, who was always so sweet, polite and professional. SS are very popular/busy, but Karen was always kind and never made me feel rushed. She made everything go smoothly from the hymn choice planning to the order performed. They are prompt, affordable, professional, and extremely talented. THANK YOU for making their wedding ceremony even more beautiful!!!

They were very accommodating and helpful. We had a little problem at the ceremony and they had continued playing until everything was resolved. The ceremony might have lasted longer than the agreed time and they were still there. We were very grateful.

Serenata Strings did an awesome job at our wedding, and I am so glad I used them! I opted for a string quartet and paid extra for the violinist to come to the rehearsal, however, I believe the group would have done perfect even without the rehearsal. The music was beautiful and the coordination between the officiant and quartet was effortless.

Hi all. I was recently wed on Friday 9/9/2017. I have to say I was blown away by the beautiful music and how polite and professional the musicians were. Karen was a treat to work with. Everything was so easy from music planning to the wedding program. So much music to chose from. Serenata Strings truly helped make my wedding night magical. I really wanted them to stay longer. The communication between Karen, musicians and myself was excellent. The musicians were on point when qued for the flower girls and ring bearer and for my entrance. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. Thank you so much Karen and Serenata Strings. Would definitely recommend to anyone else and I will be booking again soon .. :)

I was in total awe from the moment my ears listened the sweet sound of their violins. I met a few of the violinist at an open house, and knew right away they were the ones. I couldn't have been happier the day of our wedding, it was all so perfect. They even learned a new song upon request for our bridal party entrance. I would definitely recommend to any future bride.

Our experience with Serenata Strings was amazing! Karen was so helpful in helping us plan our special day. They have music samples on their website and also send you a CD with samples, as well. This made the whole process extremely easy for us, which is SO important in the wedding planning process.

Serenata Strings was an amazing vendor! They were very easy to work with and extremely flexible and great at managing expectations. Karen was so kind and informative in the days leading up to the wedding. When the weather took a turn for the worst the day before the wedding she made sure to stay in contact and found a way for all the musicians to arrive safely and prepared for the ceremony! The musicians were very professional and required little direction, they knew what they were doing and delivered an excellent sound! Very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them!!

Karen and the team did an amazing job! I initially booked them at the Dallas Bridal Show, when Karen played "I'll be There" by the Jackson 5 on the spot on her violin. They are very talented musicians. Prior to the wedding, I received MP3 recordings of my ceremony music so that I could ensure I liked the sound. They had a wedding earlier that same day as mine, but arrived on time and played beautifully.

I met Serenata Strings at a wedding expo. At the time I was just going to go with prerecorded music as I didn't think I had enough in my budget for live music. I took a more serious look at their price list and realized I could make it work. I am so happy I did. Karen was super helpful and played every song I asked for. Absolutely beautiful touch to for our Catholic wedding ceremony. Guests raved about our string quartet. The ceremony music was performed by a trio of strings from Serenata Strings. The guests said they were lovely and were SO happy to have strings played instead of recording. A month before the wedding I sent a book of songs I wanted to be played during the ceremony. They performed those like they have played them for years! It was absolutely beautiful!
I recommend Serenata String to anyone who wants strings at their ceremony! They have different variations (trios, quartet, piano, etc.) to choose from!

I first heard Serenata Strings perform during two different Bridal shows that I attended. Each time everything else seemed to just stop. They play so beautifully and really work well together. Karen helped me come up with the perfect music for our ceremony including a piece during our unity sand ceremony (Wonderful Life) with our children, symbolizing the blending of families. They pay attention to detail and will fade out songs if too long or play them out if you need them longer. They were perfect and never once caused any headache. A perfect choice for a perfect day! I highly recommend them for your ceremony or any event!

Karen and Serenata Strings were very affordable and played exactly what we envisioned for our ceremony. Karen worked very well with our family pianist, Letha. She was communicative with Letha and all of us prior to the wedding and they sounded GREAT together. Karen created such a beautiful atmosphere for our wedding ceremony!

Serenata played a song starting in the middle at a certain point right after the ceremony. THey did it perfectly timed and exactly where I wanted the to start. They played beautiful music and looked sharp doing so. Professionals and talented!

Jay and Karen were outstanding! Responsive, flexible and professional in every way. Karen answers the phone promptly and answers all the questions. Jay and I worked through the music arrangement and then he added "Michelle" for me even though it wasn't on the list. Jay did a great job with ceremony coordination. Karen did a great job is setting up the event even though it changed venues and size mid-stream. My daughter's wedding was that much more special because of them. I NEVER write reviews but I have to here because of their great help. Thank You! One more daughter to go and I know who will play the music!

These guys were awesome. They did the music for my reception and they were wonderful. Everyone complimented on how classy it was and how well they did. They were especially helpful when we added a certain song for the father daughter dance just a few days before the wedding.

Outstanding music!! I was soo excited when we found this vendor in the DFW area to play our wedding as my heart has always been partial to strings coming from a family of musicians myself! My wedding was a small event, but Jay and Karen of Serenata Strings made it Grand! My husband and I, as well as my guests, could not stop raving about how creative and beautiful their sound was. We opted for a traditional ceremony song list and more contemporary/modern list for the reception. The transition was transparent as their talent speaks for itself! My daughters wedding ceremony was at the Four Seasons in Las Colinas and I must say that Karen and Jay ensured that the musicians were there on time and played the correct music. Amazing! The violin and guitar were a hit at our wedding! They played the first hour for when guests arrived, during the ceremony, and a few songs after. They accommodated my one request that wasn't on their list and played it beautifully. Everything sounded exactly as it does on their website and our guests really enjoyed it. I just wish I had not been tucked away in the bridal suite and could have enjoyed it more :) I'm already planning to use them for our company Christmas party!

We didn’t even have a rehearsal with these guys and everything was PERFECT! They usually do send a representative to your rehearsal but I opted to not have a rehearsal. I couldn’t believe how smoothly everything went considering that. They sounded great and were very professional. Highly recommended!

Totally customized my ceremony. They even listened to "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes online, wrote it out, then played it for us to walk down at the end of the ceremony per my request. They really evoke emotion with their musical abilities, and make preparing EASY with their professionalism. I would recommend them to anybody!

A little pricey, but if you contact less expensive strings groups, you'll find they do not offer near as many contemporary options. When they do, they charge you extra for arranging them. After added fees, other vendors were more expensive. The price listed is the price you pay, no additional costs. That was great, and so is the song selection! I loved the options we had with serenata strings. Also, they were very kind to perform outdoors in February! Very professional and talented group!

I wanted a string quartet for my ceremony music and am so glad we chose Karen and Serenata Strings! They made my wedding ceremony truly wonderful thanks to their beautiful music... their sample CD helped me decide on the ceremony music and they were very easy to work with. We used Serenata Strings for our wedding ceremony. It was a last minute addition and I can't tell you enough what a wonderful addition it was! Everyone couldn't stop talking about the gorgeous music! They loved it and I even got to enjoy the last part of their performance as I was walking down the aisle and during our sand ceremony. We worked with Karen through the entire process. Let me tell you, she is a pure joy to work with. So professional and will work with you to get you exactly what you want. I had the violin and guitar and they sounded beautiful! Serenata Strings provided a String Quartet for both the ceremony and cocktail hour during the reception. They were very easy to work with, have an extensive library of pieces, a great website allowing you to listen to many selections featuring different instruments, and sent a demo cd with the contract information. They are very flexible and can play many contemporary pieces as well as classical. They were prompt, prepared and the only thing they required were chairs. I had wanted a string quartet for my daughters wedding for a long time and they fit the bill. I would definitely recommend them.

Used Serenata Strings for our ceremony musician and was very impressed. They were recommended by our ceremony site, the Dallas Arboretum. We had originally booked a guitarist who bailed at the last minute and we were so worried we weren't going to be able to find a musician that would work. Serenata Strings' portfolio was huge and they play everything from contemporary and traditional wedding music. Karen was very helpful and was responsive to emails and voicemails. During our ceremony, my mother in law wanted to hear a particular song. Unfortunately it was not a song they knew but about a week later we received a letter form them with a CD of the song for us to listen and keep. That was such a kind and thoughtful gesture from them that sets them apart from other ceremony musicians. They are priced competitively and really delivered what was promised. If you are looking for a string musician (we chose a trio) for your ceremony please consider Serenata Strings! Thanks again!

The Serenata Strings displayed beautiful artistry at my daughter's wedding. We gave them sheet music for piano for some of our requests and they transcribed them for string quartet and performed them beautifully. Karen was accomodating and easy to work with. Many of our guests were string players themselves and were impressed with the performance. I have heard other string quartets at weddings which were off-key and cracked notes. There was absolutely none of that from this group. Highly recommended!

I met serenata strings at the Dallas Bridal Show and heard their beautiful quartet play whatever I chose. They were breath-taking! They're music was so beautiful it brought me to tears. On my wedding day they were punctual and all of my guests couldn't stop raving about them. They were great. They worked with my fiance and I to make sure that they were there the appropriate amount of time and based our cost on how long they were there and how flexible we were. We gave them a lot of freedom to play what they wanted before and after the ceremony because we wanted them to play what they liked and what they played well. Serenata Strings did an amazing job at our wedding! We did all of our planning via email and I was a little worried that something would get overlooked or misunderstood but everything was perfect! They did a great job with the timing of the pieces so enough music was heard but we weren't standing there awkwardly while too much music was being played. I'll admit I don't remember hearing any music as I walked down the aisle but I did make sure to listen during our unity sand and it was beautiful!

This group was great! They helped advise me on what instruments I would need in order to achieve the type of sound that I wanted for the music at my ceremony while also having enough volume for the guests to be able to hear well enough at an outdoor venue with no speakers. Karen, a HUGE thank you for the beautiful music you and your fellow musicians provided at the BRIK in Fort Worth on July 3 at my daughter's wedding. I was so very pleased with it. It was everything I was hoping for, and more. Karen and her team did a great job! We hired them for our ceremony and cocktail hour. We were able to have two free special requests after providing the sheet music, and bit songs were played flawlessly. I was so sad to not be able to hear more of them, but that is par for the course when it is your wedding. My guests were very impressed with the quality of their music. I am so happy that I am able to recommend Serenata Strings. They came recommended to me by my wedding planner and my wedding venue. I had this idea to include a "Fun Facts on the Music" section on the back of my wedding program which explained the stories behind our particular music selections. So, it was very important that all the songs we requested were actually played. We chose more non traditional songs and they had the sheet music for most of our choices already. There was one song that they did not have and they gave me very clear directions on how to obtain it. They approved my choice first before I purchased it and then printed it off themselves. When the big day came, they played every song we asked them to and they played it beautifully (including the new song they needed to learn!). We got SO many compliments on our string quartet and one of our guests even asked for their card for their upcoming wedding because they were so impressed. I could not be happier with the music they played. These are very talented musicians and they helped to make our wedding stand out!

I was very happy with Serenata Strings. And my only real complaint is that I didn't get to hear more of the beautiful music. But from what my guests said it was wonderful and really added to the ceremony. I did here the processional music and it was all fantastic.

I did get nervous at one point only because they were a little slow to respond to emails, and while there wasn't a lot to communicate about I did want to confirm a few things. But ultimately all of my questions did get answered and the musicians were professional and did a wonderful job. I would absolutely hire them again and would highly reccomend them.

Let me start by saying, I would use them again. As with most aspects of planning a wedding there are things that don't go as planned. We had some issues with our venue and with which songs were going to be played, but in fairness those were not created by Serenata Strings. Although I thought that Karen could have been more helpful in resolving the issues and bringing a little comfort. That being said, our wedding ceremony started a half of an hour late and the quartet filled those anxious moments with the most beautiful music I have ever heard...and that brought me and our guests comfort.

We had many guests mention how much they loved the quartet and how elegant and moving the ceremony was.

Serenata Strings provided the music for our ceremony in May 2012. As a classically trained musician, I was immediately drawn by their talent as displayed in the sound bytes on their website! They also provided a CD of full length songs, and were always available to answer any questions I had. Their skill was most obvious to me while creating the program for my ceremony. Some of my initial choices were not appropriate processional pieces due to their cadence, and Karen never hesitated to tell me honestly that another choice might sound better. In the end, our wedding program was PERFECT and spot on! The level of professionalism displayed by Serenata Strings is second to none. They were always very polite in every correspondence and their performance showed such poise, grace, and class. Without a doubt, our wedding ceremony would not have been the same without Serenata Strings!

Serenata Strings was such a pleasure to work with. They are very professional and I did not have to worry about one thing on my wedding day as they took care of all the details. They are talented musicians with a great repertoire and clearly have worked in the wedding business for a long time. They can play anything you ask from traditional to today's pop and can perform with just about any combination of instruments you request. I would recommend them to any bride!

Serenata Strings has a fantastic repertoire of both classical and contemporary music. We chose a blend to be played before and after our ceremony and all went smoothly even though I submitted my song requests more than a month late! The musicians arrived on time and played outside in the unexpectedly freezing weather we had on our wedding day.

I'd recommend Serenata Strings to any bride. They sounded fantastic, were prompt and I felt we got a lot for our money.

I booked Serenata Strings about 6 weeks before my wedding. They were very easy to get ahold of and communication between them was quick and pleasant. The muscians were prompt in arriving at the wedding and the music was beautiful.
