John at Senses at Play Photography was excellent! He shot our wedding at Southernmost Beach Resort in Key West on 4/11/26. From the start, John was easy to communicate and plan with. We had a large wedding party and a lot of family members and John was excellent about capturing everyone, keeping everyone organized and on schedule. My husband and I need direction as we can be awkward in pictures and John was so helpful with giving us guidance and direction. John also took us around to some scenic spots around Key West to get some pictures - and we loved that! We have only received the sneak peek photos but they are stunning and we can't wait to see the rest!! We were so lucky to have John shoot our big day!

Best Wedding Photographer!
John with Senses at Play is so incredibly sweet! He was our wedding photographer and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Throughout the planning process John was very responsive and easy to work with. The day of our wedding he was on time arriving and kept us all on track during our photos. He told us what to do, where to stand, and made the entire time taking pictures really fun! If there were certain pictures we wanted he made sure to get them. Again, SUPER easy to work with! During the reception we barely even noticed John, but he was definitely there snapping away! He was truly amazing! We are so grateful for John for capturing our special day. A few days later he even sent us a sneak peek of our photos! We cannot wait to see the full album (especially those sunset pics) because we know they will be AMAZING based on the sneak peeks. We had a wonderful time working with John - he was hustling all day to make sure everything went smooth for us. The photos came out beautifully - they came up with a really logical plan for us that made things easy for first look, moving locations to do family and wedding party photos, and kept us on track for the ceremony and reception. We worked with Bernadette for wedding planning and her husband John for photography. We had such a great experience with them both. Bernadette was so responsive and helpful. She helped bring our vision to life and the day of the wedding couldn’t have gone any better thanks to her and her team. She made the wedding planning process so smooth and I never felt stressed while planning. John took amazing photos and did such a great job of getting all of the photos we wanted. We even got a sneak peek of around 20 photos the day after the wedding and the rest of the photos were ready in just a couple of weeks which was amazing! Couldn’t recommend them both more if you are planning a wedding in Key West. You won’t regret it!

John did an amazing job capturing our wedding. We had a lot of moving parts to coordinate the family pictures and he did it without a hitch. We just got our pictures back within the 30 day window that he promised and they are perfect. The reception photos were great. He did such a good job that most of the time I didnt even realize he was there. He was not intrusive at all. You need to book Senses at Play for Photography if you are having a wedding in Key West. There is no detail that they dont cover.

We got married 3 weeks ago and have already seen some of our wedding pictures. They are gorgeous! The shots they were able to capture are truly incredible. They have a very professional team and bring all the appropriate lighting etc to make the shots turn out so well! They work so frequently at all the local venues that they know where and when to get the right pictures …. I even think the Pelicans and birds must have been working for them as well - as they flew through the images at the most ideal times! We had limited time with John, and we were even running behind schedule. John made the absolute best of our time. He was very professional and made sure we got all of the shots we wanted but did not make us feel rushed. We received a 14-photo sneak peak in less than 24 hours, and also received our whole album very promptly. The photos turned out amazing. He was a pleasure to work with, and we would highly recommend.

Can not recommend highly enough
This review is overdue as we got married in January (pre-Covid) and it was a destination wedding. First of all, Bernadette was great about working with us to put together a timeline for the day and allowing us to make sure we had time for everything we wanted to do. We decided to do a first look and then John drove us around town so that we could get pictures around Key West which was important to us too. I highly suggest the around town photos, especially if you're from out of town.
We ended up doing the Family Affair package which provided us with a videographer and DJ as well. It was one of the main reasons we went with Senses at Play, because for one deposit we were able to secure a photographer, videographer and DJ. And we were really happy with our decision!
The photos themselves are excellent! We were blessed with a gorgeous sunset which John was able to capture perfectly. It was important to us that our photographer could take an amazing sunset photo and John absolutely delivered. He captured all of the moments of the day so beautifully!
I can not recommend Senses at Play highly enough and highly suggest the Family Affair package for your photography, videography, and DJ needs.

Captured All Aspects of Our Wedding - Great Photographer!
John is a great photographer. He captured the wedding in great photos. He would have different angles and poses helping make sure we really caught our best angles. He took nice pictures of the venue with all of our decor setup. He was so easy to work with...always having a way of getting us to pose how he wanted. And a very important aspect - John was so nice and good spirited during the whole process. We recommend John for your wedding or important event. Thanks, John - we love our photos!

The BEST in Photographers - we loved them!
It was just the two of us getting married, but Senses at Play gave us the full, rockstar treatment and attention as if 100 people came! Not only did they capture fabulous shots but their attention to detail, willingness to help me (I had no bridesmaids so John and staff helped me pin up my train and a dozen other tiny but important favors), and knowledge of the BEST Key West locations made our special day just that much more wonderful. We really couldn't have done it without them - and after it was over they continued their incredible, personal service with high quality prints and a true passion for helping us long after other photographers would have forgotten our names. Absolutely wonderful! Also, their affiliate Family Affair (Bernadette!) did our wedding video - just right for the two of us but again, with the full attention and care as if it were an Oscar picture. Lovely people, lovely day, lovely memories.

Seamlessly Amazing and can we say sneak peaks!!!
What amazing business owners! This husband and wife team are great at what they do! John was the photographer for our wedding on June 26th 2020. He captured everything I was hoping for and more! Such a natural at making everyone comfortable in front of the camera. I have two children who never have been fans of having their pictures taken and he even managed to get smiles out of them! Everything from "traditional family photos" to "Bloopers" and everything in between. The quality, quantity and turn-a-round on receiving our pictures back was truly amazing! The next time I have professional pictures taken I will 100% be making the trip to have them done with John and Bernadette! P.S. they posted sneak peak pics of the wedding within 24 hours of the event!!! Say What? that was AWESOME!

My Wedding in Paradise Captured to Perfection
John was patient, accommodating and kind about all requests, in addition to being an amazing photographer. I had a sneak peek of pictures the very next day and a complete set of photos in just over a month. Most importantly, the photos were spectacular. From the moment I show anyone the first photo to the end of them all, my friends and family can't stop gasping and saying how magnificent they are. Best decision for photographer!
Perfect experience from the first contact with Senses At Play. Through email I could tell John was a fun energetic person to work with! Planning a destination wedding without being able to meet anyone beforehand or visit our ceremony and reception site seems like it would be stressful, but not with John! He was professional and gave me a level of comfort where I felt like "this is all taken care of" and I was right! He really knows what he is doing, and throughout the entire day he was an absolute joy to work with. Because of him I have some of the most beautiful moments captured from my wedding day.

John from, Senses at Play, was amazing! The whole Senses at Play team was amazing. We could not have asked for a better photographer. Senses at play set up a photo timeline and stuck to it. Many times before the big day it was reviewed and updated for my preference. John was timely and very was full of patience. When he came to the bridal suite, my bridesmaids and I were running around trying to get ready, he was calm as a cucumber. He was professional and gave great tips for the photos. We received all of our photos within 30 days of the wedding, all edited, all beautiful. My husband and I missed the original email about our photos, and they reached out to us asking if we had received, they made sure we got out photos. Our photos are beautiful, and I do not think they could have turned out any better. Senses at Play really cares about your big day, and they are great at what they do. It shows not only in the photos, but also in how they act during the event. Pick them!

John and Bernadette are wonderful!
John and Bernadette McCall were the first ones I wanted to contact after I got engaged. I have personally worked with both of them while catering events in Key West and I have seen their amazing skills and professionalism. Not only that but they were always so positive and friendly!
I was thinking…now I will be the bride so I was not sure how things are going to go. But it was all perfect!
Communication with them was wonderful . Bernadette answered all of our questions and she made suggestions for us. John was our photographer and we arranged a meeting with them in their amazing studio to talk about all details before the wedding.
3 weeks before the wedding I injured my knee and had to contact all vendors to figure out a plan ..since I had to be bride on crutches. That was not an issue at all and we had to changed few things to accommodate my situation. John just always seemed to be in the right place at the right time to catch all the action and candid photos that will serve as lifetime memories for us.
He was so kind and helpful throughout the entire process and his skill and passion were clearly visible in his work. He made us genuinely smile and knew exactly how to work with our large wedding party (7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsman ) and bride that is on crutches. ….in the most graceful way.:) Not surprisingly, our pictures turned out beyond beyond perfect. It couldn't have been a better experience.
Not to mention that few day after the wedding they had an album with selection of pictures for us that we were able to share and enjoy while we still had some of our wedding guest from out of town.
Thank you John and Bernadette for capturing the best moment in our life .

My husband and I were planning a destination wedding from miles way from the northeast to Key West - not one of the easiest things to do, but one of the best due to the people that were part of our special day. During a few chats over the phone and via email, we knew that John from Senses at Play was 100% supposed to be with us on our wedding day! He always answered in a timely fashion, and the prints we ordered were always mailed to us enjoyably quick. John captured every moment, every memory and every emotion we felt that day. We got married in May 2018 and now, in November 2018, we still look at the beauty of the prints. The quality of the photos are amazing, but John was the star here. Bernadette did an excellent job as our wedding planner and photographer for our small wedding just recently on May 20th. I was so relaxed about the whole process because I just knew she had it all under control! And so far the sneak peek photos have been amazing and truly captured the feel of our wedding day. I am so excited to see the rest! She was so focused on her work as a photographer and knew exactly what shots to get, I didn't have to worry about her missing a thing! My only request was to get a picture at the crowded Pier House beach by a certain palm tree, but wasn't sure how it would turn out as there were people sitting in chairs on the beach right nearby and floats too. She moved all the floats and had the beachgoers move a bit so we could get the shot I wanted, and it turned out perfect! I was so grateful to have her by my side for my destination wedding!

Senses at Play was great to work with and it made it so easy that they also paired up with the DJ services for SoundWave. Bernadette was incredibly responsive and very well organized. She worked with us on the timeline that we were wanting to go with and made our picture taking sessions move seamlessly. We only had one photographer, which I would suggest using one more if at all possible, but the pictures we got were incredible and he did a great job giving us about 450 beautiful pictures to remember our wedding day by. Would highly recommend this very professional and organized business for any special photo-op occasion!

I hear so many people say that they only had a few pictures of their big day that they were happy with. I LOVE my wedding pictures and am so, so glad I trusted them to Bernadette and Senses at Play. The value we got for our package was unbelievable. We have beautiful pictures of our family and lovely pictures from our sunset ceremony and on the beach. Plus, gorgeous shots from the garden location where we had our "first look" and and fun around town pics as well. John, Joanna, and team did a FANTASTIC job. I highly recommend them and would work with them again in a heartbeat. They were professional, friendly, and are great at what they do. Suggested poses and had a great eye for the details. They gave good instructions for a variety of pictures and I'm so thrilled with how they turned out. Within 24 hours, they provided some of the photos on their Facebook page, which I was so eager to share. And within 3 weeks I received all of my photos! We used Family Affairs package for our photography, videography and DJ services at our Key West destination wedding in April, 2017. From the very beginning, we were well taken care of. During our initial phone call, Joann spent nearly 2 hours explaining our options and answering our questions. Bernadette was our point person during the wedding-planning process. She was Great and made things as stress free as possible. She also created a detailed timeline of events for our wedding days, which we distributed to other vendors to help make sure our big day went as smoothly as possible.
Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and stress free. Iris, our photographer from Senses at Play was amazing!! She was very calm and professional, which goes a long way in such a high energy situation. She had great ideas, made sure everyone was standing and looking exactly where they needed to catch the best expressions. Her results were also amazing- we could not be happier with our photos! Our videographer Christina was also from Senses at Play and was very wonderful as well. She was always where she needed to be to catch all the special moments that day but very discrete. Our highlights video was beautiful and our full length video captured everything. We are so happy we decided to include videography in our package. Our DJ, Aaron Moore from Sound Wave was also top notch. He played great music the entire reception, and me, my husband and nearly everyone of our guests were dancing from start to finish. Even my grandpa was on the dance floor all night! 15 minutes before the reception ended, Aaron made sure to track me (the bride) down so I could pick our last couple songs, which I really appreciated.
Overall, I highly recommend The Family Affairs package, especially when planning a destination wedding out of state. I could not be more happy with how perfect our wedding day was and the amazing photos and videos we have to remember it!

John and Bernadette were amazing. We planned our wedding vow renewal from another state. So most correspondence was through emails. We were able to see their work on their website and they came very highly recommended though our wedding planner "Say Yes in Key West". We asked for a few specific photos which John took. We had our vow renewal on the beach and a meal catered back at our rental house. They emailed us teaser photos before we even had our meal. John took amazing photos and worked wonderfully with our 3 year old granddaughter. He was at ease which put us at ease. It was hot and we were on smathers beach with very little shade and he took amazing photos. I would highly recommend using John and Bernadette for all your photography needs you will not be disappointed.

I loved working with Bernadette and John! They were so patient with us and took us to the cutest places in Key West to take pictures. They were both so much fun and were such a good sport! I saw a sneak peak of our pictures and they look stunning!!! I cannot wait to see them!!

We had an amazing experience with Bernadette! She is absolutely wonderful to work with. She is very attentive to detail, as well as the needs of the couple. We booked the family affair package and it was amazing to see them all work together so cohesively and pull together all our ideas into a master piece of perfection. Joanna was a delight to work with and Shawna rocked the beats their team truly is unstoppable and by far the best in the business to work with.

My wedding was at the Ernest Hemingway house in Key West, FL on May 1st 2016. Senses at play was one of the "approved vendors" for this venue. My husband and I looked at all of them, and really enjoyed the look and feel of John and Bernadette's photos. Bernadette was our photographer that day and she was absolutely amazing!!! She was so responsive to emails, and worked with our budget in order to capture all the most important moments in a short amount of time. It seemed like we spent no time at all taking photos. She knew all the best spots and angles for my venue and wasted no time at all getting all the best shots. I also really appreciated that she posted a "sneak peek " on their Facebook page with almost 40 photos from our event within an hour or two after leaving! My friends and family liked that as well. We received the final photos about a month after our wedding date and there are hundreds of beautiful shots to choose from. We are so happy with how everything turned out and with the service we received. Thank you so much!!

John and Bernadette were the photographers for our wedding and we absolutely loved them! They were awesome from start to finish. My fiance' and myself reached out months ago thinking that we were going to be out of luck for a New Years Day wedding but we had an immediate response with a breakdown of options for our day. They walked us through every step of the process as I was unsure of what to expect. Because of that, we chose to use their Family Affair package which is without a doubt, what I recommend doing! Together, they made the entire day so relaxed and fun which totally alleviated any pressure. They chauffeured my fiance' and myself to various locations and kept us laughing the whole time. Their professionalism is unreal. It's been a few weeks since our wedding and I can't stop looking at the pictures which are absolutely beautiful and truly captured how wonderful the day was. Senses at Play were amazing! They worked their butts off to get all of the shots we wanted before the sunset. The pictures are amazing, absolutely gorgeous. They posted a preview on Facebook less than 24 hours after the wedding took place, which created a lot of excitement for the people who attended and could not attend the wedding. If we ever have another even that we need a photographer in Key West, I am def. getting Sense at Play again!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!!

My name is Faith and I own an event planning company called Smashingly Events. We hired Bernadette of Senses at Play Photography for our client's very special 40th birthday event. Bernadette went on the private yacht that we rented for the client and her friends for the day and spent the entire day taking incredible action shots of the group from the back of a jet ski. Incredible. Then she followed to the Southernmost Beach Resort and worked relentlessly to get the best shots of the event, even asking if she could go into a room overlooking the event to take shots from up above. She went beyond anyone's expectations to get the job done.

We contacted Bernadette via Facebook and we had a prompt response in a couple of minutes.
All our contact in preparation of our photo-shooting went via e-mail. The response time was really good and all our questions were answered in a fast, friendly and professional manner.
The shooting itself was with John and it was really special for us.
We never felt stressed or not comfortable at any point - even our (at this point tired) 2-year old daughter was fully integrated in the event as well.
The pictures are really great - we love them.
We would recommend John and Bernadette any time.

I did the family affair package and it was hands down the best decision made! I can not thank them enough for everything the photography, the video, and DJ. I didn't even realize or see any of the photographers during the ceremony and yet they took soooo many beautiful shots, honestly it seemed as if there were 5 photographers because there were so many angles. Every wish came true and I am so grateful for the McCall Family thank you!

I am so impressed with all my vendors in Key West, ESPECIALLY John and Bernadette! They are the most down to earth couple you will meet! So nice, accommodations, and genuine. I contacted Bernadette on a recommendation from a woman I spoke with one day who used them and LOVED their photos and service. I asked her to email me some of her photos and sure enough I was very impressed too! I contacted Bernadette over a year ago and can't even begin to tell you how fabulous she is in every way!!
She took my million dollar dreams and combined it with my shoestring budget and made magic happen!! I can recommend them so highly for sooooo many reasons but these top the list!
1) They really went to great lengths to make MY wedding vision a reality (so many locations, balloon props, family photos and fun poses I just had to have)
2) They are current and really in-tune with the latest trends and connected to social media! John and Bernadette shot both my welcome reception the day before and my wedding and on both occasions I had photos posted that night so I could share them with my family and friends that weren't able to make it
3) They gave great instructions during the shoot especially with the awkward poses that felt weird but came out looking so awesome!
4) She's an amazing seamstress/fixer! I ripped my dress at our first photo location and without missing a beat she had me pinned up and on our way!
5) Lastly they really exceeded my expectations and did such an amazing job of herding our "cats" all over the streets of Key West to make sure we got really fun and memorable photos!
John and especially Bernadette, I can't tell you how much appreciate all your hard work and really making our wedding photos and the whole experience fun and stress free!! Please also thank your assistant (lindsey??) for helping to herd our family and stop traffic on the streets of Key West to get us those awesome shots!!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about their work! We were married at The Reach in Key West, and the photos were nothing short of spectacular. Bernadette helped me in so many ways beside photography right from the first phone
conversation we had. She makes you feel like family! She said everything would
be amazing and it was! Bernadette & John became friends as soon as we met them.

My husband and I are so happy that we booked John & Bernadette for our June 19th beach wedding. They were both incredibly professional and had an amazing eye for seriously beautiful shots. I first want to start of by saying that I very rarely leave reviews, however, Bernadette and John deserve an amazing review for their outstanding services. We used them for our photography, videography, and wedding planning. At first, we were just going to use them for videography and photography, but from the first moment we spoke to Bernadette, we received a great vibe from her. After a few meetings over the phone, we decided to use her as our wedding planner. She was always enthusiastic and displayed amazing work ethic. This couple for sure know how to run a business. With this impression, we knew nothing could go wrong if we used them as our wedding planners and we were right, absolutely NOTHING went wrong. Everything ran smoothly the day of the event and there were absolutely NO mishaps. Our wedding was a bit tedious and not your typical Key West wedding. We started the morning with all the girls getting ready at a beautiful hotel and with the groomsmen getting ready at another location. Pictures were taken at both locations, then proceeded to the church for the ceremony, followed by pictures on the beach, then a boat cruise around key west which docked at the pier were we had cocktail hour and ended with a 4 hour reception at the Hyatt. Im just giving you a short run down of our wedding so you can see how many fine details there were to this wedding and the fact that John and Bernadette did not allow for one mishap is simply amazing. Through out the entire wedding planning time Bernadette was always on point with her appointments, extremely flexible, and very creative. We had a situation were our hotel got cancelled for the night before the wedding and within minutes Bernadette had found us a new beautiful location. I can go on and on with this review but all i can say is if you want a stress free, perfect wedding day Bernadette and John are the perfect people to hire! Oh and how can i forget the pictures came out simply breath taking.

Perfection is what I call this great couple!! Bernadette and John were fabulous to work with. From the start of contacting them to the last photograph session, they were so easy to work with. John and Bernadette from Senses at Play helped to make our wedding day perfect. They showed up on time and ready to shoot. I was impressed with the ideas they had for photos. At one point my shoes got caught on my dress and I had to switch to sandals. Bernadette was ready with safety pins to fix the hem on my dress and ensure that nobody knew that anything had gone wrong. They were very good about keeping the groom in the shade for his photos, which was a big concern of his - getting too hot! They were great with the family photos and even had the groom's dad smiling - an impossible feat! I am very thankful that I booked John and Bernadette and I would recommend them to anyone having a wedding in Key West.

John was our photographer for our wedding day at The Reach Resort on 2-22-15. They had provided a wedding day timeline prior to the wedding day, but the day of they were totally laid back and willing to changes locations around to really capture the types of photos we wanted! They ended up taking us to various locations around Key West before heading over to The Reach for the ceremony! I love that you get the full experience from getting your dress on, through the end of the reception. I also love that they provide you all the rights to the photos, so that we can print whatever we want, as well as let our family and friends decide what they want. I would definitely recommend John and Bernadette from Senses at Play to anyone getting married on Key West! Thank you so much for making our wedding day so special!! We are truly grateful for the wonderful photos that we will have for a lifetime!

I can say so much about John & Bernadette. They were amazing! They made us feel so amazingly comfortable during our wedding. They are such professionals and like family at the same time.
