User1802680 Sent on 09/09/2014My parents, spouse and I chose Selma's Catering for three different events during our wedding weekend in May 2014, including our wedding reception. Meeting Selma was like meeting a new friend. At our first meeting with her we hit it off immediately. She has a great personality, is lots of fun to work with while maintaining her professionalism. We had meetings with other caterers to discuss our ideas but did not have the same sense of confidence in them as we felt with Selma, nor the same type of rapport. She worked diligently with us throughout the planning process, changing menu items to suit our wishes and offering samples to taste with each change. She took great pride in making sure the flavor combinations were sophisticated and compatible with each of our menus. She was always easy to contact by telephone or email or let us know ahead of time if she was going to be unavailble for any length of time. We had several meetings with her and some of her staff at Selma's Kitchen site. We also arranged meetings at our home, where the events were to occur, in which she brought her head chef so that they could be familiar with the location. Selma made sure that every detail of the menu including how the food was displayed and labeled was reviewed and she followed through with almost all of those discussions and decisions. Asparagus was one item on our dinner menu and Selma used home-grown organic asapargus for this, which she picked herself! She even volunteered one of her staff to make a trip to the liquor store during our reception to purchase more spirits for the very popular bourbon bar. Her staff, although many of them young, all came with broad smiles on their faces and willing to please. Selma herself will remain one of my most favorite vendors whom I met during my planning process, always jolly and going the extra mile. Knowing the evening of a wedding flies by for the bride and groom she sent us a CD of professional photographs of our food.
