I’ve known the owner of Select Sound for a long time from Junior High School, before he started on his own, he’s amazing! Makes you feel comfortable, attentive, music 🎶 was getting everyone onto the floor in an instant! He’s def my #1 choice! Top quality equipment!! -

John wasn't only our DJ but also our officiant! We had a beautiful ceremony followed by an amazing party. John helped to keep things on time and flowing seamlessly. He kept the dance floor full and the guests entertained. Everyone made great use of the photo booth and the up lighting really added to the venue. Highly recommend Select Sound! -

Everyone was up and dancing, he really got the party started and kept it going all night. The flat screen tvs playing pics from the night and uplighting was an amazing bonus. Everyone complimented us on our DJ choice. -

We hired Johnny last year (2024) for our wedding reception. He was able to provide a lot of the services and devices we were looking for at an affordable price, which led to our decision. He also took the opportunity to record moments our videographer lacked, which was much appreciated. Overall, John did a decent job. His emails were difficult to understand, but our conversations went much smoother when done via video chat or in person, which he was willing to do without complaint. The online system he uses for song selections was very limited and was difficult to use, so we provided a spreadsheet of our song selections. Most of our songs were played during cocktail hour and dinner, but not during our dance time- which was very important to us. He was able to follow our schedule and directions for our entrances, but fell short when it came to specific instructions, despite him insisting that he would take care of it. This included changing the light settings at the tables and disrupting our schedule by extending the parent dances beyond what we had discussed.
Johnny and his crew were friendly. They did a great job getting our entrances down and taking care of our family at the photo booth. Our guests were dancing all night, just not at the level we were hoping for. If you’d like a decent DJ who can provide many services at an affordable price, and don’t have a strict playlist or details in mind, Select Sound may be a great fit for you. Our family had a great time dancing and utilizing the photo booth, but if you have a specific schedule or vision, it may be best to designate the job to someone else.
