We got married at Morris Arboretum, and hiring Seedling and Sage as our caterer was the best decision we could have made. Not only was the staff EXTREMELY organized and helpful throughout the wedding planning process (mind you, this is coming from a type-A bride!), but the day of my wedding could not have gone better. My guests were raving about the food and staff was kind, professional, and on schedule. I would 10/10 recommend! -

We don’t have enough wonderful things to say about Seedling and Sage. They are by far one of the best catering companies in the wedding business! Not only is the food delicious, but the customer service they provide is unmatched. We got married in the Fall at the Morris Arboretum and our wedding planner from Seedling and Sage, Maggie, was an absolute gem. She went above and beyond to ensure that everything for our very special day was perfect. We unfortunately had the challenge of rain on our wedding day and Seedling and Sage was able to turn our entire outdoor ceremony/cocktail hour into an amazingly beautiful indoor event. Because of them we got to enjoy our wedding day and we were able to easily manage all stressors with their expert help. I can’t imagine my wedding day without them. -

We just had an early September wedding and S&S was our caterer! The food was absolutely amazing, the entire team was so professional and they helped with coordinating all rentals as well (furniture, linens, silverware, etc). Monica was our direct coordinator throughout the planning process and she was extremely attentive, always answering our thousands of questions quickly and kindly. Highly recommend this team!!! -

Didn't disappoint!
We hired S+S before the pandemic hit, and went for a much smaller wedding on our new date because of space limitation. S+S was very accommodating to our new plan, and was very creative constructing our new menu. They made our day extra special by providing amazing service, delicious food, and such elegant and beautiful display.
Coordination was easy and they basically took care of everything including set up, break down, and rental, and worked smoothly in combination of our day-of coordinator. Not to mention that their sustainable vision matches our low-waste plan and we are very happy to have worked with them. I would definitely recommend S+S to anyone that values the dining experience on their wedding day! We definitely would use them again for parties in the future if possible. -

I cannot say thank you enough to the team at Seedling and Sage for making our wedding day absolutely perfect! Hire them now! My husband and I had to replan our wedding four times due to the pandemic. Our original venue didn't work out, which left us to hold the wedding in my father's backyard within a month's notice. I reached out to Darcy about catering and from our first conversation she eased my very nerves right away. THANK YOU! Darcy's professionalism and attention to detail made our very short planning process easier. The food was AWESOME! We were so happy that we had the opportunity to have their food. Our guests could not stop talking about the chicken and waffles and cheese steak cigars. The salmon and chicken were cooked perfectly. Also, their cornbread is some of the best cornbread I've ever had in my life. Ann, our captain was the best! We couldn't have been happier. Than you so much to whole team! Hiring Seedling and Sage was the best decision in our wedding planning process. -

The Best Decision We Made
Seedling and Sage was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I actually find this review difficult to write because I don't know how to express all of the effusively positive things I have to say about them without sounding like I got paid to write this (I promise I didn't - although Seedling if you want to send a chicken and waffle bite on a stick this way, I won't be mad! :) Darcy was 100% professional from start to finish - my wife and I both remarked more than once on this sort of intangible quality she has to make you feel totally assured that everything is under control - and make you believe it (because its true - its under control). And given how involved wedding planning can be, that sense that someone else is entirely capable and you can really lean on them to deliver is such a blessing.
My wife is a vegetarian and I am not, and my family is from the south while hers is largely from the north east so we had some widely ranging taste buds, and Seedling was willing and able to accommodate, coming up with a beautiful autumnal bbq menu that catered to many different tastes. We were able to tweak and customize and make it exactly what we wanted it to be.
The communication throughout the planning was 10/10 - Darcy was clear, concise, and quick to reply or reach out of if there was information she needed from us. She came to an in person walkthrough of the venue, met some of our other vendors, and again just made us feel like we were in great hands.
The day of honestly went better than we could have even thought to hope - the tables looked absolutely breathtaking, the stations were lovely, the food was delicious (we had friends and family remarking on the h'or de oeuvres for a week). And the staff...wow. I mean literally to a person, they were kind, gracious, hospitable, and warm. The captain for the evening, Ann, was wonderful. She kept things on time, ensured the food was hot, the service was crisp - she was great. I just cannot say enough good things about the entire experience. I would hire Seedling and Sage for any event I ever needed catered, in a heartbeat. They were worth every penny and more.

Words absolutely fail to express our love and gratitude towards the Seedling and Sage team.
We were put in contact with Darcy last August when we booked our venue and for the past year she was honestly the super-glue that kept our sanity together. No matter how long the email or how ridiculous the question or request, it was met with a quick response and above and beyond accommodation.
We were excited to read reviews about how delicious their food was, and at our tasting our expectations were blown out of the water. The unique and delicious seasonal options had my wedding guests raving all weekend.
On the day of our wedding our breath was taken away by the performance of the Seedling and Sage team. Our captain, Jamie, made sure the night went off without a hitch. My wedding guests (many of whom work or have worked in hospitality) kept bringing up how spectacular, friendly and efficient the event staff was.
Our hearts are so full of warmth and thanks towards Seedling and Sage for making our day special as it was. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! -

I would highly recommend them for weddings! Seedling and Sage was the exclusive caterer at Flourtown Country Club. They have many delicious farm to table options for food. All of our guests were raving about the food. Maria was great with helping us plan all the little details of our big day. Maria also made sure everything ran smoothly on our wedding day and had all of our items packed up and ready to be taken home at the end of the night. She really helped to make our special day just that! -

Working with Seedling and Sage was a highlight of my wedding and the planning process. The food is unquestionably amazing-our guests loved the cornbread and the entrees, and Seedling and Sage were super accommodating with providing vegan options. We could not have asked for better food at our wedding. The best part of working with this company, however, was the quality of their customer service. From day one, our coordinator, Gabi, was responsive and accessible. She was very open minded towards all ideas and provided guidance when necessary. This greatly helped in easing the stress of wedding planning. I highly recommend working with them-my now husband and I could not have asked for a better caterer! -

Choosing to work with Seedling & Sage as our wedding caterer was probably one of the best decisions we made. We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding and chose the venue almost immediately. We quickly realized how much more planning goes into an outdoor wedding at a place that doesn't have a permanent tent, tables, etc.
We worked with Darcy through the planning process, and she guided us through everything, including a recommendation for a tent company that was fantastic. She was so responsive leading up to the wedding; from the food tasting to the site visit, we knew we were in good hands with Seedling & Sage.
We had looked at other catering companies that charged so much more and offered so much less. Unlike the other catering companies we were considering, Seedling & Sage took care of the table and chair rentals, the bars, DJ booth, and the place settings. It made our day so much easier not to have to coordinate with so many different vendors.
On the day of our wedding, the staff was fantastic, so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious — we had so many guests comment on how tasty it was and how different it was from typical wedding food. Dinner was served family-style, and the chefs were able to accommodate dietary restrictions, ensuring all of our vegan and gluten-free friends and family were taken care of.
At the end of the night, the staff packaged up all of the beer, wine, and liquor we had provided. The centerpieces were lanterns and votives we had brought, all which were also packed up with so much care. This allowed us to continue onto the afterparty with our friends and family and made the clean up the following day a breeze.
We absolutely recommend Seedling & Sage and are so glad we chose them to be a part of our special day! -

Working with Seedling & Sage was a smooth, pain-free process that both my husband and i appreciated. They accommodated our change in the menu with no fuss at all and were excited to create the hand pies we asked for, which were better than we could have dreamed!! Truly, they are amazing to work with and I couldn't have asked for better to people to be a part of my wedding!

Alair Sent on 07/19/2017I cannot say enough good things about this company. Specifically about our caterer, Emma Bytnar. She is the absolute best. At every step, she went above and beyond to find us special deals, price different rentals, and get us the specifics of the menu that we wanted. She worked ceaselessly, responding to my emails up to five or six times a day in the final weeks before the wedding. Emma constantly had our budget in mind, but never made us feel like we were getting an inferior end result. She and her team even got there extra early to set up our beautiful centerpieces, guest book, bathroom items, etc in addition to prepping the food for our reception. I believe that she goes the extra mile for all of her clients, and I will recommend her to everyone I meet. Request her! The food was also to die for! We got rave reviews from all of our wedding guests (old, young, and extremely picky)! There is not a single bad thing on the menu, and I plan on getting their catering for every future event I have. Honestly, I am pretty picky but I have no complaints about the planning process, service, or food provided by this company. They are the whole package. They are simply the best, and created a beautiful, seasonal menu for 200+ people that was still in our modest budget! -

We originally considered them because they were one of our vendor's preferred caterers, and I am so happy that we did. First of all, they are a great value. We spoke with a few other caterers, and no others were able to customize our menu or optimize our budget the way Seedling and Sage did. Every other caterer basically just showed us different tiers of pricing, while Seedling and Sage talked with us about how much we could spend and what was important to us in our menu, then created a menu that worked. They also provide tons of great decor - the bar, tables, and signs at our wedding all looked fantastic, and we didn't have to worry about any of it. Second, the food - if you choose them to cater your wedding, don't be surprised if my wife and I show up as wedding crashers, because we would absolutely love to eat another Seedling and Sage meal. We were shocked by how much food we got for the price, and every single thing was delicious. Multiple guests told us how impressed they were, especially by the short rib sliders and the salmon. Third, and most importantly, all of the people who work at Seedling and Sage are friendly, accommodating, kind, and easy to work with. Maria, our day-of coordinator, helped us with every little detail and made everything feel easy. She was ridiculously accommodating - we were living on opposite coasts while planning our wedding, and on more than one occasion, Maria had phone calls with us after 9 PM Eastern time in order to make our crazy schedule work. She helped us make sure our menu would be okay for a guest with severe food allergies. When we had some family change their RSVP from no to yes the week of the wedding, she rolled with the punches like it was no big deal. When it seemed like our outdoor wedding was going to get rained out, she stayed calm and reassured us that the rain plan would still be great. Seedling & Sage was absolutely incredible for our wedding! So many of our guests raved about how delicious, well-portioned, and beautifully presented the meal was. The hors d'oeuvres and cocktail hour spread were also a huge hit—everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully displayed. The team played such an important role in making our day feel truly special. Their service was professional, attentive, and every detail was handled with care and precision. We wholeheartedly recommend Seedling & Sage to any future couple looking for amazing food and seamless service on their big day! -

You don't have many catering options when hosting a wedding at the Morris Arboretum. Seedling and Sage seemed like the better of the five options we were given to choose from. The food is standard in quality for banquet food. However, there were several off-putting aspects of our experience working with them.
First, we had to constantly be on top of our assigned planner to set up meetings and correct several errors in our BEO despite several emails with clear instructions on selections and preferences.
Second, we paid them $300 to set up a ceremony table for us (with photo and video instructions), and they in turn made my mom not only set up the whole thing without help, but also clean it up afterwards; this was so disrespectful towards my mom and a complete waste of money. This led to the entire reception falling massively behind schedule as my mom was late for her dance with us.
Third, they were not timely with serving food and desserts to our guests. There was a period of time where only one side of the reception tent had received their entrees and the other half had nothing on their tables; even our photographers noticed and commented on how disorganized it was. After our cake cutting, we had given them instructions to take the cake back and cut it to serve to guests. This did not happen until after the dance floor opened up, the cake had been sitting out for a long period of time, and I finally grew restless and went to the back kitchen to ask staff to take it back for cutting and serving.
And fourth, they tried to send an email to us a few weeks before our wedding stating that they were changing their gratuity policy and were going to increase the charges for our wedding despite a previously signed contract stating otherwise. We had to threaten legal action and get the Morris Arboretum team involved for them to abide by our original contract. Overall, an unpleasant experience with this catering company and I cannot in good faith recommend them.
