  Amazing ceremony on the beach and reception at Sunset Grille

  This venue was gorgeous. The beach is great! I did not plan my entire wedding through the resort, just booked the venue and used a different planner. We had our reception at the open-air restaurant on the beach, Sunset Grille. It was affordable with customizable options for food, drinks, etc.
  Jessica and Kelly were so helpful and set up some decorations that we brought for us. We purchased some appetizers for the table and also some "passed" appetizers and Kelly brought them around to everyone which felt very fancy. We are very happy with everything!

  This venue was gorgeous. The beach is great! I did not plan my entire wedding through the resort, just booked the venue and used a different planner. We had our reception at the open-air restaurant on the beach, Sunset Grille. It was affordable with customizable options for food, drinks, etc.

  We took a huge risk and brought our friends and family from the Midwest to St. Thomas. After reaching out to many restaurants we found this gem (Sunset Grille) on Secret Harbour Resort. I reached out to Jessica Hume and she was extremely accommodating and comforting from the moment we first spoke. She was flexible and patient with me throughout the planning process and was confident that it would be a beautiful reception. Once the details were set in place, I rarely needed to check in with Sunset Grille because I felt assured that everything was going to fall into place perfectly!
  
  The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL the beach is GORGEOUS and the food is DELICIOUS! This was the best meal we had on the island the entire week we were there. Jessica and her team were welcoming to our wedding party and went above and beyond to provide the best experience we could have imagined!
  
  When we return for our anniversaries, we will ensure to always stop by Sunset Grille for dinner. Could not have asked for a better experience!

  My husband and I were married on October 26, 2016 and had our reception at Secret Harbour Sunset Grille. This is a beautiful location for a reception! The food, staff, and bar were amazing! Our family and friends still talk about the painkillers and crab cakes and how awesome they were! I could not tell the staff thank you enough. There was not one time myself or a guests had an empty glass whether they were sitting or on the dance floor. The private area is right on the beach and close to the bar and restroom. The restroom is gender neutral which was not a problem, but there was slight confusion at the beginning. Sunset Grille also provided the linens for my reception which were all nice and steamed! The only thing I would move is the cake and welcome table. The welcome table was tucked away in a corner where some guests did not go and the cake table was in the sun, which caused my buttercream cake to melt.... I am not sure if the placement of the tables were Sunset Grille or of my planner, but just something to pay attention to.

  My husband and I got married last week and had our cocktail hour and reception lunch at Sunset Grille which is located at the Secret Harbour Resort. Our wedding party was 12 of our family and friends (plus my husband and I) so we wanted to keep things small and intimate. Therefore, we opted to have a plated lunch (instead of buffet) in the private wine room and it was absolutely perfect. The room had AC so it was nice and cool and the tables were well decorated. Our wedding planner had worked with the staff ahead of time to have a vegan entree available on the menu and they were very accommodating. Jessica went above and beyond to make sure our group had everything we needed and even hooked up her phone to the stereo system to play a Pandora station for us while we ate. The food was absolutely spectacular and the vegan option was a delicious tofu pad thai. Both Jessica and our waitress were very attentive, always checking on us and our guests for drinks (we had an open bar) throughout the meal. Speaking of drinks, they were fantastic! Our guests most enjoyed the key lime colada and the mango daiquiris. The private wine room was the perfect location for our lunch and everyone had a great time. We would highly recommend Sunset Grille to anyone looking to have a wedding reception or rehearsal dinner on St. Thomas.

  We would definitely stay at Secret Harbour again. The beach is beautiful and the staff works hard to keep the grounds clean for guests. All the rooms are individually owned, so they all look different. I saw 4 different rooms, including ours, and they ranged from good to great (ours was great)! You feel as if you're on a private beach at times which is why we decided to have our wedding here. We went to other beaches and they were beautiful, but Secret Harbour is more quiet and relaxing. They have a dive shop on site and the Cruzan Beach Club, a restaurant/bar with delicious food and great drinks. You'll love it!

  WE planned our daughter's wedding with Laysha Powers at Secret Harbour. Every detail was taken care of by Laysha and the wonderful management and staff at Secret Harbour. Laysha was very responsive and creative in her approach to helping us plan from Michigan and Chicago. She coordinated guest reservations and vendors beautifully. She communicated perfectly with all involved. I simply can't say enough kind words to thank Laysha. East End Florists provided amazing flowers, Tim West, DJ, was excellent, Morgan Rael provided wonderful music for our ceremony and reception. Kelly Lorenz, KLIMAGERY.com , our photographer was also amazing. We can't wait to see and share photos. I encourage others to plan their wedding at Secret Harbour. The resort is lovely, Rooms are clean and decorated nicely. See their website for more specifics. The Sunset Grille and Cruzan Beach restaurant group coordinated by Jessica Hume provided us with an excellent reception at the resort. Our daughter and her husband are so happy with all that was provided for them and their guests. Give strong consideration to planning an event at Secret Harbour.   Secret Harbour is a little slice of heaven, and it is the perfect destination and location for a wedding and reception. We have enjoyed past visits to Secret Harbour and quickly identified it as the best option for our spring destination wedding. The beach at Secret Harbour is one of the locals favorites and offers an intimate location for a wedding ceremony. Cruzan Beach Bar and Sunset Grille proved to be fantastic back drops and hosts for our wedding cocktail hour and reception with views of the sunset and ocean while guests enjoyed the celebration. The food is delicious and the venue is accommodating based on the type of meal and style of meal you're interested in. The Secret Harbour Beach Resort management and staff is first class! They are so happy to have you vacation with them and are willing to go above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable. We found them to be very accommodating with our wedding guest reservations, additional events at the hotel we planned during the week, and often checked in to see what else they could do to help. Secret Harbour is also a very good resource in terms of activities and attractions in nearby Red Hook, St. Thomas and the surrounding islands. Last, but certainly not least, our wedding coordinator/planner at Secret Harbour, Laysha Powers, is incredible! She is knowledgeable, creative, helpful and thoughtful in her important role. Laysha help manager our vendor relationships, was candid in her feedback about our ideas, and was accessible despite a busy schedule. Laysha was the mastermind behind our dream wedding and has become a lifelong family friend as a result of her tireless hard work and commitment to pleasing her clients. Overall, Secret Harbour is a gem and we highly recommend it as a resort to consider for a destination wedding or for a getaway to St. Thomas.

  This place is an excellent venue for a wedding reception! We our from Illinois and scheduled Harbour Beach as our reception for a post wedding luncheon. Reservations were scheduled over the phone or email - responses were very timely and professional. We had 11 guests. We were extremely pleased with the service and our waitress TISH. I had shipped candles to place on the reception table and there were no issues. Secret Harbour had set up our table so nicely at no extra cost they added island flowers and shells. We had our reception table on the patio with a curtain behind it for semi-privacy. Secret Harbour also cut and served our cake to guest for a small fee. The ocean view was perfect! The food was good and reasonably priced. Me and my husband had their fish tacos which were the best I've EVER had!

  My wedding coordinator was Laysha and she did such an awesome job. She is very responsive and made me feel that my wedding was very important to her. She really walked me through everything and I could not have had the beautiful wedding I had without her. Everything that I wanted she made happen. I highly recommend her. My wedding and reception was absolutely perfect at Secret Harbour and I would not change a thing about it.

  Book your wedding here. I, rather blindly, chose Secret Harbour for my destination wedding and could not be happier with my choice. We had approximately 36 guests stay at the resort and everyone had a great time; from young engaged/married couples to our parents in their 50s/60s to my under 10 yr old niece & nephew - everyone had a blast! The beach is private, the bar and restaurant is fantastic, the rooms are beautiful - you cannot beat the sunsets! Our wedding was right on the beach at the resort, our reception was at Sunset Grille at the resort and the post-reception celebration was at the Cruzan Beach Club, at the resort :-)
  Laysha Powers is an amazing wedding coordinator. She would nudge me when I needed it but was never pushy. She was very responsive to my emails. She thought of everything. When my guest book didn't arrive in time for it to travel with me (a frame with my new last name that people were to sign the border), a bridesmaid came up with an alternate idea to have people sign paper hearts that I've now put within the border. I gave the paper hearts and wedding favors to Laysha and said "uhhh, I don't know what to do, but I trust you." She made the most adorable tray of sand to display the favors and the hearts and it looked SO GOOD! I hooked up with her on Pintrest and from there it was a breeze (flowers, centerpieces, hair styles, archways, cake/cupcake towers, etc.). I don't think she ever said "no" to me. Everything I liked, she made it happen. On the day of the wedding, nothing went wrong. It started to rain a bit right after the ceremony but not to worry, umbrellas appeared out of thin air, drinks were brought from the bar and we all waited for the rain to clear before proceeding with pictures. I honestly wouldn't change a thing about my wedding and that's all due to Laysha's planning!

  We had our wedding here on July 12th and had an amazing time. Laysha the coordinator did such a good job! Everything was beautiful and she executed my vision perfectly! We had our reception at Cruzan Beach Club located at the resort. Jessica's was the food and beverage coordinator and she did an amazing job as well. Because we weren't able to have any tastings before we arrived for our wedding, I was worried about the food. But the food ended up being amazing! We had a buffet and they even packed all our leftovers and had it delivered to our room. Our guests are still talking about the great time they had. We will definitely be back soon. Maybe for our anniversary!

  My wedding was stress free and Laysha handled everything very well. She was able to take my ideas and pictures and turn it into a beautiful wedding. We absolutely loved the decorations, music, flowers, cake, photographer, and dinner. The photographer she selected was outstanding as well and we love the pictures! Everything was planned through either phone calls or email. Everything came together and I was able to enjoy the family vacation and not worry about the wedding. We arrived on Saturday and were married on Tuesday. I highly recommend Laysha and the Secret Harbour. I would highly recommend to family and friends.

  My husband and I just got married at Secret Harbour beach and had the coctktail hour and reception at Sunset Grille. It was the most beautiful and amazing day of my life. Everything went well and it was because of the wonderful staff at Secret Harbour. Thank you Laysha Powers (wedding coordinator) and Jessica Hume (events director at sunset grille). I grew up on St. Thomas and always knew I wanted a beach wedding. However, we live In the states and I knew that we needed someone on the island to help coordinate/plan our wedding. Laysha, is amazing and went above and beyond to help successfully execute our vision. She was prompt with responses and was available via texts, email or phone. She had some great choices for vendors (violinist, baker, florists, officiant, videographer etc). She communicated with the vendors on our behalf, which allowed time to focus on wedding dress shopping.
  
  Jessica and the staff at sunset grille were professional and very friendly. She was flexible with the menu side options and worked within our budget. We did a buffet menu and there was more than enough food and drinks for everyone. The food was amazing and everyone said how great the the food was. Jessica and Laysha worked together to set up the reception just like we wanted.
  
  Words cannot express how truly grateful we are to Laysha and Jessica for helping make our wedding day special. We are just so happy with how everything turned out.

  We had our wedding reception at the Sunset Grille at Secret Harbour on April 21, 2014. The location was phenomenal! Absolutely beautiful, and we had the reception in the open-air section of the restaurant which provided a much-needed breeze on that day! This was a perfect spot for it. Jessica was the main person we dealt with through email before that day - she was always so nice and prompt with her responses. She was lovely to deal with, always coming around with more water/drinks and making sure everyone was having a great time. She also helped us with the music - we wanted to have our special dances before food and so she was great at keying up the songs and then moving into our reception playlist on the iPod we brought. The food was delicious. We had a brunch buffet with a yummy chocolate fountain as well, plus our wedding cake. We also had a build-your-own mimosa or bloody mary bar, and they had a cash bar as well. She was also very calming when “the bride” had her little stressful moments.  The only thing that didn’t work out was we wanted a sparkler send-off but fireworks are illegal in the USVI (boo!)... It all worked out though and Laysha set up an even more special send off for us. When we got back, we realized we forgot to pick up the bag with all of our décor in it and Laysha had no problem mailing it back to Texas for us. I just thought that was really cool since the wedding and everything was already over but she still gladly wanted to help out.   I adore Secret Harbour and have been coming for years. It was my dream to have my wedding on the beach at this hotel and it came true! Amanda was amazing and even helped me out of two issues that had nothing to do with the hotel or her job. When my hairstylist failed to show up to my appointment, Amanda found me another place at the very last minute. The wedding itself was beautiful, the beach was perfect for a party of 25 and the weather was great.

  Jessica Hume (wedding coordinator for the restaurant at Secret Harbour) was outstanding. I had to switch my venue at the last minute and she made the process smooth and worry-free. Jessica and her staff were friendly, attentive and extremely accommodating to all of my guests. The chef was flexible with the menu and provided high quality food and large portions.   It’s the small things...
  
  We were married at Secret Harbour Beach Resort 4/2014. The rooms are beautiful and immaculate AND we were greeted with a chilled bottle of champagne and flowers! The beach is stunning!! I have always envisioned having a destination wedding on a beach and the beach at Secret Harbour was perfect. Jennifer (assistant banquet coordinator) was absolutely amazing! She made sure everything went smoothly and that we were taken care of! I loved our entire stay except for the service at the resort. Besides the fact that everyone was working on, “island time,” many of the resort staff seemed to have a chip on their shoulder. One morning upon walking out of our room, four of the cleaning staff were yelling and screaming at each other across the back of our building at 9 o’clock in the morning. It felt like being checked onto a government base every time we went down to the beach attendant to retrieve something as simple as a beach towel. Our wedding planner was very responsive when it came to planning our wedding prior to our arrival. However, her enthusiasm when at the resort was lacking when it came to coordinating our wedding. The attention to detail at the resort was very disappointing. We communicated with the wedding coordinator via e-mail and Pinterest to plan the details of the reception but when it came time to party, there were some unexpected changes. The centerpieces were not as expected and the cake was absolutely hideous. Overall, things could have been much worse and our wedding was a blast! The DJ, photographer, Officiate, hair and makeup artist were awesome and I don’t think we could have found anyone better!! (All recommended by Laysha) We would not change anything about our time there. Our only major complaint is that the staff needs an attitude adjustment. Word of advice, don’t wear yoga pants to a wedding because all of your guests will make note of it to the bride and groom all night. We would like to visit again!

  Beautiful location with disappointing service

  This location is amazing but the service, professionalism and overall quality of the rooms were disappointing and not worth the hefty price tag. One of the beach level rooms patio door DIDN'T LOCK, the plumbing was backed up in 4 rooms and the room provided to us, the bride and groom, was very dated, had holes in the walls and the shower door did not operate. We advised the front desk of the locks and plumbing but there was no resolution regardless of the safety risks. I had to go to the front desk at night to get sticks to put in one of my guest rooms door and there was no concern for mine or my guests experience. Despite multiple follow ups, we are not able to sort out the accounting with booking and guests wanting to pay on their own cards upon arrival. We were assured this wouldn't be a problem but it has been terribly stressful. I had to pay all the deposits up front and despite our asking and disagreeing with the process, they refused to provide a receipt that shows what I paid and what my guests paid. They put the "master" reservation under the wrong name, canceled a room but rebooked it quickly. They wouldn't refund me immediately (said I had to wait until the event) for rooms that cancelled within the cancellation period and now the numbers do not add up.
  Unfortunately, the quality of the rooms, professionalism of the front desk, plumbing issues, no concern for the safety of our guests did not make the stunning views worth the stress it caused me.   Irie Matrimony at Secret Harbour was awful

  It has been almost a year since my wedding, arranged by Irie Matrimony at Secret Harbour. I wanted to wait a while to let things simmer before writing out a review.
  I would describe this company as disorganized and generally shady. I chose Irie Matrimony because of the good reviews (in retrospect I suspect that many of these are not written by actual customers) and because I had hoped that having a wedding planner would make things easier. I wanted things to be simple and really didn’t want to micromanage so that I could just enjoy our wedding day stress-free. I wish that I could say that Irie Matrimony accomplished this, but it was the opposite.
  I’ll start with the pros:
  * Any wedding, even with disorganization on the part of the wedding planning agency, will be beautiful in the Virgin Islands. The location is truly what made up for all of the stress that the sisters who own Irie Matrimony caused.
  * The food at the vendor we chose (Sunset Grille), the DJ, the officiant and the steel pan drummer that we had at the wedding were all wonderful and professional.
  * The wedding arch, centerpieces and flowers were all beautiful and well done. Though I will say that the arch was missing a component that we agreed on via the portal that Irie Matrimony uses.
  
  Cons:
  * Throughout the planning process there seemed to be a lot of confusion. They would send an email asking me a question (I.e. “which of these photographers would you like?”) and I would answer it (I.e. “Blue Glass Photography”) and then several weeks later they would ask again as though I had never responded in the first place. This happened numerous times with a number of different situations.
  * They forgot to include one of the girls in my bridal party (there were only 3) in the invoice so we were short one bouquet for the wedding and had to scramble to put something together last minute. I can take ownership that I should have double checked the invoice, but they were told many, many times how many girls were in my bridal party and missed it anyway.
  * The photographer (Blue Glass Photography) was AWFUL. I don’t know how much this had to do with Blue Glass and how much was due to poor coordination from Irie Matrimony. The photographer that arrived for the wedding was not who I paid for, but was instead his “apprentice”. I was told that the actual photographer would arrive later but he never showed. The apprentice photographer did not seem to have any idea what to do, seemed confused about what his job was, and gave us no direction at all for photographs.
  * The space we had agreed to for the reception was changed the day before the wedding. I had paid $700 for “cafe lighting” but that wasn’t doable in the new space. I was told I would be refunded. Irie Matrimony put up some Christmas lights around the entrance and insisted that this was a $1000 item and only refunded me $200.
  * The day before the wedding they told me that the wedding would be held half an hour earlier than they had originally told me. This means that the time on the invitations would have had my guests arriving 30 minutes late to the wedding. This left me scrambling to make sure everyone knew and added a lot of stress.
  * Our seating arrangements were completely wrong for the reception.
  * The wedding planner was actively high throughout the wedding itself. Several of my guests mentioned seeing her using in the parking lot. I wouldn’t actually care so much about this except for how poorly everything was handled. So it was insult to injury.
  * We literally had to start the process of walking down the aisle all over again because they were so disorganized.
  * This is another one that might have been the vendor rather than the planner, but the makeup artist was awful and that whole process was shady as well. When I arrived to the shop that Irie Matrimony hired for hair/ makeup the place was closed. Eventually someone came but refused to turn on the overhead lights. Only using ambient lighting and spotlights. They did my makeup but it was at least 3 shades too dark for my skin tone and not at all the “natural” look I had requested.
  

  It has been almost a year since my wedding, arranged by Irie Matrimony at Secret Harbour. I wanted to wait a while to let things simmer before writing out a review.
  I would describe this company as disorganized and generally shady. I chose Irie Matrimony because of the good reviews (in retrospect I suspect that many of these are not written by actual customers) and because I had hoped that having a wedding planner would make things easier. I wanted things to be simple and really didn’t want to micromanage so that I could just enjoy our wedding day stress-free. I wish that I could say that Irie Matrimony accomplished this, but it was the opposite.
  I’ll start with the pros:
  * Any wedding, even with disorganization on the part of the wedding planning agency, will be beautiful in the Virgin Islands. The location is truly what made up for all of the stress that the sisters who own Irie Matrimony caused.
  * The food at the vendor we chose (Sunset Grille), the DJ, the officiant and the steel pan drummer that we had at the wedding were all wonderful and professional.
  * The wedding arch, centerpieces and flowers were all beautiful and well done. Though I will say that the arch was missing a component that we agreed on via the portal that Irie Matrimony uses.
  
  Cons:
  * Throughout the planning process there seemed to be a lot of confusion. They would send an email asking me a question (I.e. “which of these photographers would you like?”) and I would answer it (I.e. “Blue Glass Photography”) and then several weeks later they would ask again as though I had never responded in the first place. This happened numerous times with a number of different situations.
  * They forgot to include one of the girls in my bridal party (there were only 3) in the invoice so we were short one bouquet for the wedding and had to scramble to put something together last minute. I can take ownership that I should have double checked the invoice, but they were told many, many times how many girls were in my bridal party and missed it anyway.
  * The photographer (Blue Glass Photography) was AWFUL. I don’t know how much this had to do with Blue Glass and how much was due to poor coordination from Irie Matrimony.
