My wife and I wanted to get married in wine country, at a winery, on a budget. I know, I know...cue laughs, right? But we had it all planned out and were determined to make our dream a reality. We wanted to have our ceremony outside, our reception in a barrel room, and we wanted to be able to serve great tasting wines throughout the evening. Because of our budget it was pretty damn tough to find a spot, but in the end, Sebastiani made it happen! After joining the wine club for a minimal fee, we were given a discount on the site and a discount on all of the wines purchased for the event. It was awesome.
Budget details aside, Barbara Rose - the event coordinator at the winery - is absolutely wonderful! She was extremely helpful with every aspect of our planning, always responded to our questions within a day, and was super friendly to boot. Her support staff at the winery was great as well. After we booked our event, they always made sure to say hello and treat us like special guests anytime we came in to taste or meet with Barbara.
So, if you're looking for the perfect spot for your wine country wedding, I highly recommend Sebastiani. Not only is it a great site, with great staff and yummy wines, it's also right off the Sonoma Square. Which made rollin' out to the local pub after the reception and then getting everyone safely back to their hotels a piece of cake!My wife and I wanted to get married in wine country, at a winery, on a budget. Fairy tale wedding…as the MOB, that was what my daughter called Sebastiani's Winery wedding she recently had. Loreena and Gaston were a dream to work with. Our wedding planner was the one who suggested this winery as we are from the East Coast, and had no idea where to even begin to look for venues. It is built of stone and old wine barrels. Her reception had dancing in the tasting room, dining in the barrel room, cake in the room with a roaring fireplace, and photo booth in another room. The staff was courteous, professional, and the Foley Family wines were impeccable.Fairy tale wedding…as the MOB, that was what my daughter called Sebastiani's Winery wedding she recently had. We chose Sebastiani for our small week-day wedding & they did a spectacular job! They worked with us and shared advise to ensure our wedding went as smoothly as possible. The wine was amazing! We used vendors from their recommended list and were thrilled! The space was amazing and we had so many compliments! & the staff was amazing in doing little extras to make sure the day went off without a hitch! I heart you Gaspar, Alex & Vicky! We chose Sebastiani for our small week-day wedding & they did a spectacular job! If you are looking for a venue that gives you the opportunity to utilize all of their space, Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery is what you're looking for. You actually get to make use of all the space from the fountain area, deck setting, to the tasting room to the barrel room. This place is wonderful not to mention the people you work with. Alex was beyond a saint helping us plan for our wedding. She was responsive and always willing to help. Thank you Alex for making our wedding day run smoothly and keeping us so reassured that we made the best decision for our wedding location! If you are looking for a venue that gives you the opportunity to utilize all of their space, Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery is what you're looking for. What a wonderful place to get married! We have nothing but great things to say about working with Sebastiani. The Barrel Room is gorgeous, the grounds are beautiful, and it's conveniently located to the city center (a quality not to be underrated if you want a wine-country wedding!). Gaspar and Alex were incredibly easy to work with, and their commitment to making our wedding special was deeply appreciated. You won't be disappointed. What a wonderful place to get married! Let me start off by saying this......getting married in Sonoma is NOT an easy task, especially as a local. My husband and I searched for months for the perfect fairy tale location for our September wedding and found most of the locations to be crazy expensive and packed with pages and pages of ridiculous rules. Finding Sebastiani was like a breath of fresh air.
Gaspar and Alex were an absolute pleasure to work with, and made the planning process stress-free for me. There wasn't a single concern working with them and I never once felt like we weren't in control of our special day. They were flexible, knowledgeable, and there were several times that I went to them for their opinion, and I am so pleased that we went with all their suggestions.
The day of, Michelle made sure the event went smoothly and even helped us keep our "rowdy" guests under control (I mean.....what's a wedding without a few of those?). The event space was GORGEOUS and I've been told several times that our wedding was the most beautiful that our guests had ever seen. We wanted a location that was beautiful on its own without having to spend a ton on flowers and rentals, and I can honestly say that although our florist did a stunning job, we really didn't need much! We had our ceremony on the lawn under the arbor, our wine hour around the fountain, dinner in the barrel room and dancing/cake in the tasting room. It was so great to be able to totally spread out with our guests and they loved spending time in each of the different areas. And the location is perfect as it's right next to Sonoma Square which made getting around and experiencing Sonoma very easy and fun for our out of town guests.
We went with a catering/coordinating/everything package with The Lodge, which is definitely the way to go as everything is packaged, rather than seeking it out a la carte. And they're a pleasure to work with as well.
Overall it was the best day of our lives (so far!)!Let me start off by saying this......getting married in Sonoma is NOT an easy task, especially as a local. I just had my wedding at Sebastiani and it was perfect! I knew I wanted to get married in wine county. It was the first site I saw and I knew this would be the place. I went to several others and there was no comparison for the site and the cost, as you received more for your money here than at the other sites I visited. I did not find too many wineries with an indoor reception site. I instantly fell in love with the barrel room and knew it would be perfect for my vision. I especially liked the large barrel with the staircase wrapping around it, which made for a great grand entrance. I got married there as well, in front of the fountain under the arches, with a view of the hills in the background. It was just lovely! As the site stood on it's own, I did not need to spend much money on decorations and had a low flower budget. During the year of planning, there was a change of coordinators which I was not informed of and the winery was sold, but it did not seen to impact much of anything. I also like their wines, and with the wine club, they have some very affordable wines. I couldn't have been happier with my selection of venues.

Piper at Sebastiani is a real gem. She is so nice, responsive, and organized. She worked out all the details with my planner and florist. Her staff was great. I was stunned to see what they did with the barrel room. They even got us a permit so our dogs could attend the wedding!Piper at Sebastiani is a real gem. She is so nice, responsive, and organized. We got married at Sebastiani Winery on 10/26/14. The venue is gorgeous, the staff is friendly. My only issue to be honest, was there are a few days in between email correspondenses. I felt like the staff was always either off site or ooo. I would recommend to anyone getting married to check this out.We got married at Sebastiani Winery on 10/26/14. Barbara and Susan did a wonderful job of helping us plan our perfect wedding. We signed a contract before the owners of the winery changed, so some things were slightly different than we had planned. However, the new owners honored the contract and everything went smoothly. The venue was gorgeous and the trolley was a great idea for our guests. I highly recommend Sebastiani for its beauty, convenience and friendliness.Barbara and Susan did a wonderful job of helping us plan our perfect wedding. Sebastiani is a beautiful place to have a wedding. It is amazing to have the venue solely for your event. The staff is wonderful to work with and super friendly. There are a few things to which I would alert potential brides. The first is that the Sebastiani Trolley contract puts liability on your shoulders, which could be financially dangerous, so we didn't hire it. Second is that no amplified music is allowed outside at any time of day or night, which isn't quite clear in the contract. That was fine for the harp music during the ceremony, but made the harp music hard to hear during the cocktail hour. Third is that your event cannot start until 6 pm and your vendors cannot be onsite until around closing of the tasting room. They were very upfront about this requirement, so it was not really a problem, especially because our wedding planner (Dreamers and Heroes) and our caterer (Park Ave) had everything under control. The Sebastiani team was also a big help in getting things rolling as soon as the tasting room closed. Our ceremony started at 6:05 pm and the party ended at 11 pm. It didn't feel too short or rushed, though time did fly. All in all, everything about the venue was amazing. The wine is delicious, the barrel room is unique and stunning, the tasting room is a great place for dancing, and the outdoor areas are really lovely for ceremony and cocktail hour before the evening gets chilly. I was very irritated for several reasons. First, the woman in charge of special events often would not get back to me unless I bugged her a couple times or had my coordinator call her. Second, when we would talk, she could be quite rude and condescending. This actually bothered me more than any other issue I had with them. I'm sorry, but there isn't ever a reason to act that way, especially if you are wanting business from someone. On top of that, when I first agreed to have the wedding/reception there, I was told that several things were included (like candles all over the barrel room and some of the rentals), and as the date approached, I found out from OTHER vendors (like my caterer), that these things were no longer provided because of a change in ownership...first of all, why would I not hear that information FROM SEBASTIANI?? Second, why am I paying the same price for less stuff? Very unprofessional and unfair. The other thing the special events woman told me was that they were trying to clear out the merchandise in the tasting room, and would hopefully have all of it gone by the time of my wedding. I even clarified it with her, making sure she meant that the room would be more open and not as "touristy" looking...she agreed. But then when it was about a month to my wedding, she told me that she didn't know what I was talking about and that they wouldn't move a single item!! I didn't necessarily mind that there were things for sale, but I did mind that there were clothing racks right where my guests could enter and exit. It looked tacky. Would they move TWO clothing racks?? NO!! All in all, it's an exquisite site, but until they figure out how to treat their clients better, I wouldn't suggest it.I was very irritated for several reasons.
