Fantastic photographer, life memories captured & savored
Tyler is a fantastic photographer, but more importantly, an exceptional person. He has our highest recommendations. Tyler captured our wedding day beautifully and with great kindness. He cared about our ideas throughout the planning process and enthusiastically handled several locations and logistics on event day, all while not missing the important moments. He even zipped into layers and layers to stick with us during a true snow storm! We were impressed with the volume of interesting angles and locations he squeezed into our timeframe. He also effortlessly bounced between portraits, event coverage, details and family photos in our time. We are so pleased with the final photos (along with all of our guests too). Short review: Tyler is the best, book him!!!
Longer review: I reached out to Tyler on relatively short notice, and he was super responsive and scheduled a call ASAP for a surprise proposal shoot. He was communicative throughout the entire process, and then on the big day was constantly texting me updates and advice on the best spot. He even moved a bunch of people out of the way who might have interfered in the shot!! After the surprises he could not have been nice and was able to capture our special moment absolutely perfect. I seriously could not recommend him higher. -

He puts his heart and soul into every photo session, wedding, headshots or whatever project he is doing!

Hawaii Destination Wedding
We had a destination wedding in Hawaii and couldn’t trust anyone else to capture it but Tyler at Scratch Studios — and WOW, he delivered! From NYC to Hawaii, every moment he captured is something we will cherish forever. The quality of his work is second to none, and his quick turnaround time (without any of the usual nonsense you can sometimes get from photographers) was such a breath of fresh air.

We were so so so lucky to work with Tyler for our proposal, engagement, and wedding shoots and could not recommend him enough! He is incredibly easy to work with, responsive at all times, helpful with all aspects of planning that we had questions/ideas for, great at posing and making us feel comfortable during the shoots (we had minimal experience working with professional photographers!), and has a great eye overall with a natural editing style that lets the subjects and moments shine, all for a fair price. He was very comfortable with the locations that we selected and was able to quickly guide us around to different locations, capturing every moment that could possibly end up being a great photo. He works incredibly quickly and turned around previews within a few days of the wedding to share with family (and day of for proposal/engagement shoots!). Even as we write this review just a few days after the wedding, we think fondly of the moments and memories that Tyler had captured and we’ll forever have on our walls. We would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a photographer in the NYC area! -

Highly recommend!
Tyler was an absolute joy to work with for our proposal. We had pouring rain throughout the shoot, but he was so encouraging and took amazing shots! He made us feel at ease as a couple who has never taken professional pictures before. He was very efficient in getting all pictures back to us so we could share the news with family. I spent months planning an engagement for my girlfriend in New York City. Because we have often had photographers help us take photos on trips, I thought I could pull off having a photographer help with the proposal. I saw a lot of positive feedback on various discussion boards about Tyler and Scratch Studios, and reached out to him.
He immediately started sharing ideas on the best locations, helped me frame the background I am looking for, and plan the entire route. He helped give me advice on clothing and even setup a code word for me to know the perfect moment to propose.
On the day of the proposal, I was very nervous and Tyler immediately put me at ease, and made my girlfriend extremely relaxed and excited about the experience. He was patient, never rushed us, and in the end gave us the best pictures we have ever taken together. On the day of, he sent us a LOT of pictures to immediately start sharing with friends and family.
I could not imagine having anyone else capture one of the most important events of our lives and am very thankful I found Tyler. My fiancé considered that the best trip of her life, and her favorite pictures. We will definitely be likely to fly Tyler in for our wedding. -

The Absolute Best Experience and Best Vendor
I can't tell you how much I truly adored Tyler. He was the perfect vendor. We we lucky enough to have both our engagement photos and wedding photos done with him. The quick turnaround, previews, professionalism, and energy Tyler brought to every event was unmatched. My husband and I have never taken a photo together we liked, and forewarned Tyler about our awkwardness in front of a camera. The photos we got back after both engagement photos and wedding photos, are my absolute favorite photos. Tyler made us feel so comfortable and found poses and environments that fit us as a couple. Our wedding guests still talk about how perfect Tyler was getting ALL our photos done beforehand and making even the little ones smile in group photos. If there is one vendor from my wedding I would wish everyone could work with. My favorite photographer, vendor, and part of the wedding day. Could not recommend Tyler anymore. -

We did a one hour elopement photo shoot with Tyler in Central Park and had the best experience! My husband and I had never done a photo shoot before and generally don't love taking photos, and Tyler made us feel at ease instantly. He had a route in mind to get the best shots and was very efficient at getting the shots and moving on to the next location. We winded up having a blast during the shoot and didn't want it to end. We got the full album back in 1 week turnaround. Throughout the process Tyler was very quick to respond, and delivered exactly what we were looking for for our shoot. Don't hesitate to book Tyler for your photoshoot needs! -

I was surprised during our proposal that my fiancé hired Tyler to capture the moment as well as a small shoot afterwards. He worked with my fiancé to be at the right spot ahead of time and was inconspicuous while he waited. Truly can't picture our wedding day without Tyler. He was a JOY to work with, super creative, and had a really good understanding of what would make the best shot, but also wasn't pushy/annoying in pursuit of getting it.

Best vendor and experience we could have asked for!
Tyler is truly amazing! Not only did he beautifully capture EVERY aspect of our wedding, he did so with such ease, flexibility, and professionalism. He is so passionate about his work and it shows. We felt so comfortable and confident during our couples photos- Tyler walked us through every pose and hypes you up along the way; much needed during the craziness of wedding day. So many guests and family members complimented on his calm, detailed ability to direct during large family photos along with the photos of the bridal party. Leading up to the wedding day, Tyler gave amazing suggestions for our timeline from a photography perspective and on the day of he really kept us on track. Photography was one of our biggest priorities for the wedding and Tyler has exceeded all our expectations with delivery of such an amazing, impressive, and large gallery of the best day of our lives. High-Quality Photos Delivered Quickly
Scratch Studios / Tyler was an excellent choice! He was very professional, arriving early to help set up a surprise engagement photo shoot. He was extremely kind and helpful and allowed us to have a moment to savor the proposal. Tyler agreed to take photos in in multiple locations near our apartment and delivered the sneak peak photos within hours of the shoot. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the number of photographers in NYC, but you cannot go wrong with Tyler of Scratch Studios!
We were drawn to Tyler's vibrant photos and approach to capture authentic and candid moments. Within a minute of our initial call, Tyler already had us smiling and laughing; we knew he could bring out the best in us in front of a camera. On the call, Tyler answered all of our questions thoroughly and addressed our concerns. It was an easy decision to book Tyler for our wedding.
Tyler was so accommodating with our engagement shoot. He ensured that we could get photos with our dog near our home and made the time so that we were able to relocate and shoot all over Dumbo. We had a lot of fun working with Tyler - he had so much positive energy, hyped us up, and gave great direction while letting us be ourselves.
On our wedding day, Tyler was incredibly professional, efficient, and friendly. The energy he brought was exactly like our engagement shoot, even though the day was much longer. Tyler kept us in great spirits, ensured that we got all of the photos on our shot list, and skillfully directed our family photos of 15-20 individuals.
Tyler was quick to edit and send us previews/return our photos to us. We know that this is a point of pride for Tyler and he truly delivers!
We absolutely love our photos - from the candids to the detail shots to our couples portraits. Amazing Experience
My husband and I did a wedding portrait session with Tyler in Central Park and Top of the Rock. It was a long, gruelling 3 hour session but Tyler was an absolute pleasure throughout. He gave great directions on poses, was incredibly flexible with all the locations and finally came out with a amazing gallery of edited photos within a week of the shoot. We are especially happy with the variety and sheer quantity of edited shots we got back. Tyler is also amazing at capturing cute, candid shots - we couldn't be happier that we chose him to capture our very special moment! -

Stunning Proposal Photos
Tyler was phenomenal to work with and we love our photos! Before the proposal, I spoke with him over the phone and told him my vision. Best Photographer Ever
I attended a wedding that Tyler shot and instantly knew that was our photographer whenever we got married. So you better believe I made sure he was available before I secured my venue! And I am SO SO glad we had him there to capture our special day. Not only are our photos stunning, like actually unbelievably perfect, but Tyler’s demeanor and vibe on our day was perfect as well. Amazing! Perfect!
We knew that Tyler was going to be an excellent choice from the moment we received his first email. We had a number of had a number of questions for him and he not only answered them in writing but took the time to pull photos from his portfolio to demonstrate his expertise in the areas we were curious about. Following this email exchange we had a video call during which Tyler completely won us over with his excitement and enthusiasm for our vision and love of his craft. After the call we scheduled an engagement shoot with Tyler and to say we were impressed is an understatement. His eye for framing and color and contrast as well as his direction and energy results in breathtaking engagement photos. When we got the photos back we were beyond excited to have him as our wedding photographer.
Leading up to the wedding, Tyler was integral in the scheduling of the day. He helped us to fine tune and keep pace for our couple, bridal party and family pictures. His experience allowed us to schedule a near flawless day. On the day of we were prevented from shooting at our selected first look location and not only did Tyler bring the calm energy we needed he instantly found another eye popping location nearby and you would never know that it wasn’t our original desires first look location. He not only made us feel amazing throughout the day, he made everyone he photographed feel that way. He brought such warmth and joy in addition to his incredible talent.
When we got the pictures from our wedding we were COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY. Tyler perfectly captured the emotions of the day in the most stunning way possible. There was a lot of variety in the locations and poses of shots. We had a diverse wedding party and guest list and regardless of size, shape or complexion he made everyone look fantastic. Stop your search right now and hire Tyler - he is INCREDIBLE!! He was recommended to us by several different friends and we could not be happier with everything he's done for us. He is the consummate professional and his photos are extraordinary.
Firstly, Tyler is a dream to work with. From the first consultation to the delivery of the final product, his energy is so enjoyable to be around. He is full of positive, fun enthusiasm; he makes the special moments feel even more special. You can tell he truly loves what he does and his spirit is wonderfully contagious.
Second, Tyler is a true artist when it comes to capturing every moment in the best way possible. We cannot believe how AMAZING our photos turned out! He is creative, thoughtful, and inspiring in the way he finds the perfect shot every time. What really stood out to us are the REAL moments he captured. He is so good at helping to create and then catching true emotion. We had so many beautiful experiences throughout the photoshoots; it felt like we had a friend by our side. He's also extremely versatile in his style of photography. Our waterside engagement shoot with him got rained out and so he quickly pivoted with us and we ended up shooting around our apartment complex in LIC, which changed the vibe of the shoot entirely and we COULDN'T BE HAPPIER with what we ended up with. We now have these glamorous, industrial, chic engagement shots which are the perfect compliment to our dreamy, sun-soaked island wedding photographs.
Lastly, he was so fast in delivering our previews and then the full albums on both occasions we worked with him. Every photo is beautifully edited and organized with easy-to-navigate headings; it's incredible how quickly he delivered such a quality product. A note on the editing: we LOVE the way Tyler touches up each photo to make it look its BEST. We've seen so many photographers who punch up the brightness and colors which make the final photos look unrealistic and even washed out. Not Tyler, he beautifully edits his photos to make them pop, but they look real and absolutely stunning.

Attention to Detail!
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like sharing my experience with Scratch studios would help other couples. The first thing that caught my eye from looking at the photos on their website was the attention to detail, which was really important for me. Right from the start, Tyler (who owns the studio and photographs each wedding) was so open to hearing all my ideas, needs, and wants and then followed through on each of them. I’m assuming the studio services mostly Tristate surrounding areas, but he was able to work out my destination wedding in his schedule. Since he was unfamiliar with the area, he researched locations before our wedding day and surprised us with some hidden gems. I corresponded with about 10 photographers in Italy, but eventually decided that I wanted to go with someone who didn’t have “cookie cutter” poses and locations (I saw multiple shots on websites that looked like the couples were just copied and pasted into the same shot) and who felt fresh. Also, since I don’t speak tAdditionally, other photography studios I’ve worked with will hand some shoots off to assistants, so I was relieved to know that I was working with the same person from start to finish. Another thing I’ve experienced with other studios is being ghosted after the shoot and having no idea when your photos would be ready. Tyler was so communicative with his timeline and even updated me with a sneak peek album, which was so helpful for all my friends and family berating me for the pictures. All in all, my experience was truly 10/10. -

Tyler shot our July elopement in Prospect Park. Every time my partner and I talk about our ceremony, we talk about how absolutely stupid lucky we were that Tyler was our photographer. He was simply the best. He was ultra-professional, responsive, easy-going, and warm. He gave great direction and masterfully worked through our many group shot requests—and our families loved him! And of course, the most important thing—the fantastic photos!!! I normally hate photos of myself, but I am *obsessed* with these. We had the privilege of working with Scratch Studios for both our engagement photos (in Brooklyn Heights, NYC) and for our wedding (in New Orleans). Tyler Made it PERFECT.
Found Tyler through a Reddit thread by some divine miracle. He did our surprise proposal with me and it could not have went more magically. He was responsive from the very first email and promptly responded to every message and ping. He was immediately kind, open to collaboration and was a complete pleasure to do our moment with. I had a whole plan set out for exactly what I wanted and he understood my vision like no other. He let me send him inspiration pics of things I might want for our surprise proposal which I thought was super cool of him. My husband and I used Scratch Studios for both our engagement shoot and wedding day. Tyler is an absolute pleasure to work with. We feel so lucky and fortunate to have found him! Being a type A person and very execution oriented Tyler instantly made me feel comfortable and confident in his abilities and level of professionalism. Tyler was not only prompt and quick on his replies but he was also extremely proactive with his communication making sure he always texted/called/emailed when we either had time with him or he wanted us to start thinking about next steps for our wedding timeline. Tyler also worked very well with all of our other vendors and wedding staff which was wonderful. Besides his high level of professionalism Tyler was also extremely friendly, fun, flexible and creative. Tyler went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I felt comfortable during the engagement shoot and on our wedding day. He was so friendly with all of our friends and family as well and made sure we are all always happy and made us laugh. Tyler was also very accommodating and welcoming to our dog Marco being a part of our shoots and was so loving towards him. In terms of flexibility Tyler was always open to working around our busy schedules and come to us super early to beat the summer heat. On our wedding day he came before we asked him to arrive and paid close attention to details. He scheduled intake calls with us for both shoots and asked all the important questions that made us feel confident going into the shoots. Lastly in regards to creativity Tyler always presented fun, unique, classic and heartwarming ides for us in our photos and even details for our wedding day. I'm so happy that I found Scratch Studios and Tyler to help capture my proposal! I first contacted Tyler a couple months before I was going to propose, and I was so impressed with his prompt responses. I'm not from the NYC area, but that's where I was planning to propose. Tyler was so helpful in suggesting possible proposal locations. On the day of the proposal, he was so helpful with coordinating everything to make sure I would be able to locate where he was. Tyler was so easy to work with while taking photos and he made us feel super comfortable and confident the whole time. My husband and I got married on Sept 30, 2022. We had the best experience working with Tyler. He was always super prompt with responding to emails and/or texts. The photos/gallery were available very quickly after the wedding. This was very much appreciated as some of our friends told us they had issues with their photographers not sharing the gallery in a timely manner. Tyler sent us a few photos the same day we got married and it was such a nice treat to be in the moment and see how it was documented (so beautifully). An absolute joy to work with!
Hiring Tyler to photograph our wedding reception was the best decision! He seriously knows what he is doing and is a true professional. From the start, Tyler was extremely responsive to our inquiry and I knew from our first meeting that he was organized & passionate about what he does. He was communicative & pro-active, making sure he was in contact with our planner and had the wedding timeline & shot list locked in well ahead of the day. Tyler was also very flexible, offering to show up a bit early & stay later on short notice.
On the wedding day, Tyler arrived right on time and got straight to work. Our bridal shoot was SO much fun and we loved that Tyler showed us sneak peeks of our shots live during the session. Once we got to family and friend portraits, he was totally on top of it, making sure all groups & individuals were accounted for. I appreciated the control & ownership he took to make sure this part was run efficiently AND thoroughly. During cocktail hour & the reception, Tyler somehow seemed to fade into the background while still capturing every detail of the evening!
We received sneak peeks from Tyler just days after the wedding and they absolutely blew us away. Once we received the final gallery, not long afterward, we had hundreds and hundreds of photos - from bridal shots to family/friends to details to reception - all categorized in a gorgeous, shareable online album. We could literally not be happier with how the photos came out, the colors & composition were exactly what we were looking for!
My husband and I cannot recommend Tyler enough - he is detailed, communicative, talented, kind and most importantly for us, FUN!! It was a joy working together and we definitely want to plan more shoots together in the future. THANK YOU!! -

The Best Ever!!
There aren't enough good things I could say about our choice for Scratch Studios as our wedding photographer. We have been lucky enough to know Tyler from college & as soon as we set the date he was the first vendor we booked! Tyler also did an engagement shoot for us in NYC that we loved! We aren't familiar with the city and he had a few great spots picked out already to give us memorable photographs. One of the things that was most important for us was to feel comfortable at our wedding & Tyler made sure that happened. Everything We Wanted!
Our entire wedding experience with Tyler was effortless. We had an engagement session with him prior to the wedding and got to know each other and we felt totally comfortable shooting with him by the end of it. This review is very overdue! But we were reminded of Tyler's talent and our overall pleasure of working with him as we head to a friend's wedding that he will be photographing. We recommended him immediately when asked.
Choosing a photographer is one of the biggest vendor decisions you make - you spend the most amount of time with them the day of the wedding and being on the same page is so critical.
From the very beginning Tyler was an amazing vendor. Open, understanding, flexible and so very kind. We used him for both our engagement photos and for our wedding. The quality of his photography, his creative eye and his overall temperament made him a perfect choice.
We were one of the many couples that decided to postpone our original November 2020 wedding to October 2021. During one of the more stressful times in our lives, Tyler was an optimistic and comforting vendor. When the idea of moving our wedding came up, he told us to not even think twice about his contract, he was coming with us to the new date and would adjust to whatever we were comfortable with. Good, bad, indifferent, he was there to accommodate and it took such a weight off of our shoulders and solidified our confidence in him as the right choice.
Tyler offered support throughout the entire wedding planning process and was super helpful in building out our day of run of show. The day of the wedding we worked with both Tyler and his associate Taylor - both were prompt, friendly, calming and honestly blended into the motions of the day without us even realizing they were there.
We were pretty specific about not doing a first look before our church ceremony and not missing a moment of cocktail hour and Tyler was sure to make it all happen - even if it meant losing some of the shots he was hoping for. He understood our priorities from the start and we even had time after photos to relax before our cocktail hour began because he was so efficient.
We're so thrilled to be able to see Tyler again and can't recommend him enough for anyone looking for someone to capture their wedding day with grace, ease and timeless photos.

Tyler was the first vendor we spoke with out of all of our vendors. He immediately set the bar extremely high. He was genuinely curious about Harry and I's love story, what we did for work, what our lives were like. He made it seem like we were talking to a friend rather than talking to someone who never met us before.
When we booked Tyler, he told us to "contact him for anything, he is here to help" and this was right about the beginning of COVID when we thought COVID would last for two weeks, so Harry and I were like "haha yeah we'll reach out for anything" not even thinking of anything we would reach out about.
We reached out to him for everything. Like every question that we wanted a second opinion about, every COVID related decision. Anything and everything. And he answered IMMEDIATELY. He would send me an email, I'd wait to respond like a day or two (or five) and then he would answer my question immediately.
Tyler worked with us for our engagement pictures and wedding pictures. Both of these sets really capture our love, our happiness, and our excitement to begin this new chapter in our lives together.
Harry and I's main driving force when looking for a wedding photographer was that we wanted the pictures to look cheery, colorful, fun and just like the people were having a good time. And Tyler nailed each of those categories.
Day of the wedding, Tyler was incredibly organized with the list of MUST HAVE photos and then the list of whatever else you can get photos. He meshed really well with our family and friends and it was just a dream to work with him, know him, and have him be part of our special day.
Monday after the wedding, we received a sneak peak with 200 photos. We could not even imagine what was in the full set. But Tyler blew our expectations away and once again set the bar incredibly high for professional photographers and vendors in general.
I could not recommend Tyler enough for your wedding needs or any "capturing the bond between you and your partner"'s needs. Just a really pleasant, professional person who captured the absolute joy of our wedding on camera for eternity. Thank you so much Tyler! -

We had to reschedule our wedding 3 times due to covid, and Tyler could not have been more flexible and positive the entire time.

Easily my top vendor, by a mile!
Tyler is a phenomenal photographer, and person! I genuinely can’t say enough good things about him. Obviously, his photos are stunning. He is truly a top notch photographer, but he went above and beyond in so many ways.
First of all, he was incredibly supportive of my partner, who transitioned from male to female during our engagement. Tyler made her feel truly beautiful, and it was so much fun taking photos with him! I’m so glad we have such beautiful photos of her, especially the engagement photos.
He was also truly amazing on the actual day.
We had a problem with our car company, they didn’t come and pick up my dad or father in law. This left my wife at a loose end for about 45 minutes, as she was supposed to be with her dad. Tyler spent a lot of time with her, taking nice photos, taking care of her and generally making her feel like a bride! I’m so glad he was there.
Not to mention that his assistant was also a life saver, he was with my dad at the time and there’s no way my dad would have found the ceremony without him!

When we first connected with you pre-pandemic, both Kristin and I remember that we spoke on the phone for almost 90 minutes. I also remember mid-way through the pandemic we also hopped on a call just to chat and catch up because that is who you are.
You have been so helpful to us through the planning process. I remember when Kristin and I first talked about having our wedding at the Foundry you quickly asked if you could come visit the venue with us, which was totally awesome of you to do. You were always there for any questions or to hop on a call to help me go over the bus schedule. You have been absolutely outstanding to work with in every aspect.
Our engagement shoot was one for the memory books, all of those locations so little time so many amazing pictures but that day really helped to solidify our friendship not to mention display your amazing photography work.
Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming and having to choose vendors that not only fit your aesthetic, but also your budget is quite the task. Your work is the absolute best of both worlds. You clearly have a passion for your craft and your photography is so vibrant and colorful just like your warm personality. We love your attention to even the smallest detail. Perfect Experience
From the very 1st moment Tyler and I connected about the wedding, I felt super at ease and like I was dealing with a friend. I never had professional pics taken, so I was super nervous about the engagement shoot. Tyler made the experience SO fun and comfortable for my husband and me. The photos came out stunning, and he had previews for us LATER THAT NIGHT!!! He checked in with us every step of the way until the wedding. He helped us with the day of the wedding timeline, and worked amazingly with all the other vendors. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!
Tyler photographed our destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico and was an absolute DREAM to work with, we could not recommend him more highly.
We were fortunate to discover Tyler when he was the photographer for our friend’s wedding. His charming personality really stuck out and we were very impressed with how organized he was; he clearly put together a detailed game plan for the evening so the bride and groom could spend less time posing and more time celebrating with their loved ones. After seeing the astounding quality and style of his images from that night, our mind was blown, and we knew we wanted him for our wedding as well.
As an LQBTQ couple, you never know what to expect when approaching a wedding vendor about your wedding. It can be nerve-racking, but Tyler could not have been more naturally considerate and inclusive. Small but impactful touches that most people would never notice, like not using Pronouns in the photography contract and offering us a ton of ideas for non-traditional poses vs. traditional ones made all the difference to us. Not to mention he is a master of his craft and experienced with ALL things wedding photography, he has literally seen it all. He guides you through the entire process from start to finish so its one less thing to stress about before the wedding, trust me, this is huge.
No matter what style of image you are looking for, he will listen to your vision and make it happen. My fiancé (now wife) and I told him we wanted two completely different styles. I prefer candid/relaxed photos and she prefers a more timeless/portrait style of photo. I have no idea how he did it, but he mixed our styles perfectly.
Not only did he get the style perfect (lighting, poses, background, etc.), but we both looked stunning. My wife always looks great in photos but I’m a completely different story, awkward is an understatement. I have never been comfortable in front of a camera and I can’t think of a time before Tyler that I truly liked how I looked in a photo. By some miracle, and a little bit of coaching, Tyler managed to make me relax and was able to naturally capture the most candid and intimate moments without making me feel self- conscious whatsoever, and I even liked how I looked!
Tyler is also willing to do anything to get “the shot”! My wife managed to talk me into jumping in a pool post-reception, dresses and all. Tyler was fully onboard with capturing the moment and was the first one in the pool.
The icing on the cake is that he sent us our “preview” album the day after our wedding, so we had some photos to share almost immediately! The final gallery came back very quickly as well.
Tyler’s passion for perfectly capturing and preserving these incredible moments shows through in the final product. You will not regret hiring him as your photographer. He goes above and beyond and his work speaks for itself. We will treasure these photos forever.

Tyler is THE BEST!! My husband and I had the most wonderful experience with Tyler. From the start we loved his easy going and professional manner. Nothing short of a perfect experience working with Tyler!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Tyler - about his quality of work but also as a person. To say that meeting him was serendipitous would be an understatement. We met Tyler right after my husband proposed to me on the Brooklyn bridge. He happened to snap a photo of us in that moment (which I’m forever grateful for that picture) while doing an engagement shoot for another couple on the bridge. We exchanged info and he offered to share it with us via email. We connected and got to talking about how he was from the MD area along with lots of other coincidences, which had me compelled to book Tyler as our wedding photographer. We had a long 3 year engagement and we kept in touch throughout until the big day. Between the easy communication, delivery, photo quality, and how caring and kind Tyler is, our experience working with him exceeded our expectations.
Tour wedding day was actually the first time my husband and I ever got any professional pictures done together so in general we were both a little nervous about a camera being on us all day. Tyler made every single second feel natural and FUN. Not only that but this guy DELIVERS. And I mean delivers. Just days after the wedding he had already shared a sneak peak gallery of hundreds of photos to hold us over… and only 2 weeks later he worked incredibly hard to get us all our photos before the holidays without us even having to request that. Beyond words
It’s been a little over three months since Tyler met up with us in Dumbo, Brooklyn for our engagement session and I still can’t seem to find the right words to use in order describe how amazing it was.
The session was absolutely amazing from beginning to end, the photographs blew our minds, and made us all the more excited to have Tyler be able to capture our ceremony next year.
Even through all of covid and our changes, Tyler has been ready, willing, and able to work with us each time a wrench was thrown into our plans. He’s professional and cares deeply about his clients.
Tyler’s work absolutely speaks for itself but I’ll speak on it none the less. From vibrant colors to beautiful light flares he can capture it all in a soft and flawless manner. His photographs will leave you feeling like a true piece of art.
And let’s not forget the essentials of a good photo. Need directions on posing? He’s an expert. Sun blaring in your eyes? He’s ready. Outfit change? No problem. A lot of people all around where you want a photo? He will politely ask for a turn in the spot and be quick about it as well. Looking for a specific picture? He will ask you and will capture the photograph even better than you thought possible. Starving after your shoot? He knows the best spots around.

A Dream Photographer!!
Working with Tyler from Scratch Studios has been a dream! Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming and having to choose vendors that not only fit your aesthetic, but also your budget is quite the task. Scratch Studios made this process very easy and comfortable for us. We booked Scratch Studios for the beautiful photos and received so much more than that. Tyler offered to also do our engagement session, and from the moment we met him we knew we made the right choice. Tyler was very welcoming and friendly which made the process of taking photos much more comfortable. From our very first conversation, he was extremely prompt in providing information and his correspondence with us throughout the entire process was seamless. On our wedding day, Tyler was very comforting to myself and my husband, encouraging us to enjoy the moment and giving us the space we needed to do so, while still capturing beautiful photos. He delivered the edited final product to us within a very short period of time after the wedding. When we saw the final product, we were blown away with Tyler's attention to the smallest of details that made the memory of our day so special.
We also booked our videographer through Scratch Studios. Daquan was great to work with as well! He was professional, but also had a nice personal touch that made you feel comfortable with having a camera around. Working with him was seamless and it made it easy to have our videographer and photographer hired together.
