Best Cake Ever For Our Best Day Ever

We absolutely LOVED our wedding cake that Michelle made for us. It was the best cake we had ever had. I have guests still asking f we have any left over cake because they cannot stop thinking about how delicious it was.
The first thing my husband and I did when we returned from our honeymoon was eat our leftover cake! Our cake was beautiful and exceeded all expectations, We recommend Sauer Cakes LLC for all your (wedding) cake needs!!

This was the most beautiful and best tasting cake I could have imagined having! We loved the cake so much that after we cut the cake and fed each other we continued to eat the cake and literally forgot we were supposed to be paying attention to the guests and moving on to the first dance and I have the video footage to prove it! Everyone kept raving about how beautiful the cakes were! I cannot wait until we get our anniversary cake! She promises a first anniversary cake for all her married couples!

Michelle is amazing!!! We had a cupcake cake for our July wedding. I can't tell you how many complements we received on the cake. She took care of everything. We couldn't have been happier!

"The best wedding cake we've ever had!" was said over and over at the reception. It was a beautiful cake and Michelle went above and beyond with the set up, answering all our questions and making sure we got exactly what we wanted. We highly recommend her.

Michelle did a great job for our wedding. Her cupcakes are some of the best we have ever had. We have had several guests ask us about them after the event. Her consultation process is a great time and she's very honest and helpful in planning even if her suggestion doesn't financially benefit her. A vendor you can trust.

Michelle is so nice and very talented! She makes amazing and delicious cakes! Although she was dealing with a personal issue right before my wedding, she delivered an amazing cake on time and it was just what I was hoping for! We didn't have a single piece leftover, it was so good! Another thing I appreciated about Michelle was that she was very thoughtful about exactly how much cake we should order based on not only our guest count, but also the alcohol we had planned. The other bakers didn't mention that alot of people who were drinking beer would probably not opt for cake because the two don't really mix. Michelle helped us take different factors into consideration to determine just the right amount. She also provided gluten free cupcakes for a handful of my guests!

Michelle is an absolutely amazing cake and dessert creator! She was so helpful in helping us decide different flavors and very easy to work with since we had other ideas then just the traditional wedding cake! We ended up doing a traditional cake for some and small desserts for the rest...cake balls, gnashes, and mini cones with baileys :) We got so many compliments and the actual cake presentation was beautiful! Would highly recommend Michelle and Sauer Cakes!!

Michelle's cake is amazing. Everyone at our wedding loved it and the various cupcake flavors we chose. She was really helpful in responding to email and working with us over the phone as we were planning out of town. I loved all the little touches like the flowers on the cupcakes. Definitely recommend!

Michelle was so much fun to meet with and allowed us to try numerous flavors of cake and fillings. EVERYTHING WAS DELICOUS AND GORGEOUS! She is very creative, but also attentive to requests. She could not have done a better job with arranging the flowers who were left by the florist. PLUS, she offers a 1 year anniversary cake instead of you having to freeze the top. Can't wait for that!

We enjoyed working with Michelle! The cakes were exactly what we were hoping for and the service was great. We had many complements on the flavors and were so happy to have picked someone that helped us make sure we had the right amount and flavors. The design of the cake turned out perfect. We chose to use floating cakes and cupcakes giving more options and matched the look we were going for.

SOOOO tasty & she delivered & set up the cake PERFECTLY! Our cake was 4 tiers, chocolate w/layers of ganache, peanut butter & cream cheese and butter cream icing. AMAZING!

Michelle at Sauer Cakes was great. She was able to cater to me at the last minute and was very nice to work with, flexible, and helped make my day super easy. Especially, since she was a preferred vendor for my venue at Creekside Conference and Event Center, delivery was free and all rentals were free. She was great, her cake was delicious and beautiful and cake tasting was free! She had the best value out of all the bakers I looked at. I highly recommend her.

Sauer Cakes are not only beautiful, they taste Wonderful!!!
I can't tell you how many people at my wedding told me or my immediate family,
That the cake was THE BEST THEY HAD EVER TASTED!!!
It was moist, the flavors and extra fillings set everything into an upward spiral.

But let me back up a bit. We found Sauer Cakes at a Bridal Expo in Columbus. I brought 5 other people with me that day. We all paired off into 2's. And when we met back up later, ALL 3 "teams" had Sauer Cakes flyer and NO ONE ELSES.
Every women I brought said, This is the ONE YOU WANT!!
So, Like I said, LOOK NO FURTHER, THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT!!!

Thank You Michelle. You Helped to Make our Wedding PERFECT!!
I can't Wait to call you next year and order our Anniversary Cake and get to taste perfection again, and Also to see you again!!

Wow, how lucky and blessed we feel to have found Sauer Cakes! Having a wedding on the campus of Ohio State, we showed up with photos of buckeyes and Brutus… and Michelle jumped right on board! Our cake was a huge hit, guys and girls alike, and truly was the most amazing tasting and a SUPER value. I know that everyone always tells you nice things on the day of your wedding, but our guests were honestly thrilled and excited they were able to try multiple flavors. For the same flat fee we were able to have 3 different flavors! I cannot wait for our one-year anniversary to order another chocolate peanut butter cake, yum! More importantly, Michelle was so fun, easy and comfortable to work with and made the day completely stress free. We didn’t worry about a thing after meeting her and she was genuinely excited for us. I can’t say enough good things or more highly recommend a business, product, and person….thank you for making our day and cake special and perfectly fitting to us!

We loved our cake! Michelle is so easy to work with and actually found a picture right after our initial meeting of a cake design we decided to go with. It was awesome! Our cake tasted excellent and we had so many guests commenting how good it was. Michelle really works with you to make sure your cake is exactly how you want it and has the perfect taste. Michelle Sauer was a delight to work with. I'm not much of a cake or cupcake fan myself, but the cake and cupcakes Michelle made for us were the best I've ever had. I couldn't stop eating them! They received rave reviews from all of our guests. Everybody was amazed at how delicious they were. And Michelle's prices are fantastic. She also set up the cake and cupcakes and came back at the end of the reception to box up the leftovers for us and take away the stand she let us borrow, for no extra cost. If any of our friends or family in the area need a cake, we know who to recommend!

We went on a cake tasting expedition of nearly a dozen vendors - what fun! - Suaer Cakes was by far the best tasting of all we tried. Michelle and her staff did a great job on the day of the wedding and everyone raved about the cake.

I was immediately drawn to Sauer Cakes based on Michelle’s variety of techniques that I noticed on her website. During our first consultation, she asked all of the right questions to really understand what my groom and I wanted, since we are a more unconventional couple. She was also able to accommodate our request for a faux cake so we were able to display the work of art throughout the reception. All 3 flavors of cake were delicious and I only wish that we lived in Columbus so we could try all the other great combinations!

Michelle is awesome and so are her cakes. She was wonderful to work with the whole way through. She invited me to stop by for a tasting and even allowed me to return with my fiance and parents for another tasting, so they could participate in the festivities. She is honest and fair about the pricing, instead of another vendor wanting to rack up the price and take advantage of brides' and their perfect wedding ideas, Michelle is honest about how to get more bang for your buck. She took all of my ideas and the final product was exactly what I had in mind, not only that, the cake was beyond delicious. I had many guests say it was the best they ever had! AND instead of eating frozen wedding cake of one year on your anniversary, Michelle offers a fresh replica of your cake topper to celebrate with, which I am already looking forward to!

The wedding cake was fantastic! I had so many compliments on it. She was very flexible with changes and the addition of a small side cake to accommodate extra guests. She is also baking us a small 1 year anniversary cake for free, so we don't have to eat 1 year old frozen cake!

I had the best experience with Michelle, the owner, from start to finish. She is very friendly and makes the best cake. Every single guest at the wedding who had a piece of cake told us that it was the best wedding cake they have had!

Michelle is very understanding if you change your mind of flavors etc. I would recommend her to anyone who is need of a cake for any occassion.

Michelle was awesome. My husband and I met with her a few months ago and absolutely fell in love with her. She let us sample three different flavors. All were so amazing that we had a hard time deciding. The week before the wedding, we showed her a photo and she made it happen. The cake was beautiful. All the guests raved about the taste. Due to a non-traditional wedding, we decided against having a wedding cake only to change our mind within a month of our wedding. I found Sauer Cakes, LLC during an internet search and it turned out, it was the most fortunate find! Michelle was so accommodating and made the event of selecting a cake most enjoyable. What initially made me contact Michelle were the photos of cakes on her website. They are so many various styles that it made me feel comfortable that she would be able to make a cake that met our individual stlye. The cake tasting was, to stay the least, what sold us on Michelle! After one conversation prior to the tasting she had an idea of what we might light and had those flavors available at the tasting. It took us all of 5 minutes to decide following the tasting. Michelle also assisted us in a selecting a cake style. When we left the tasting I felt totally confident in selecting Sauer Cakes. Of all the vendors, arrangements and selections for our wedding and reception, Sauer Cakes was by far the best choice we made. She handled all of the arrangements of working with the event center for delivery and set up of our cake. When I first viewed the caked I was astounded at how beautiful it was. People were making comments and asking "Where did you get your cake?" Past the beauty of the cake, the taste was more than exceptional! To this day, 5 months later, friends and family still comment on how wonderful the cake tasted. We have definitely found our new cake lady! We will never purchase a cake elsewhere, whether it is for a birthday, holiday or just in the mood! I highly recommend Sauer Cakes to anyone! Thanks Michelle for a wonderful wedding cake!

Michelle is AWESOME!! I wasn't even going to have cake at our wedding, because neither my husband nor I really care that much for cake, but after we met with her, we were sold! We actually used one of her model cakes for show, and she made oodles of sheet cake for serving - and the sheet cake was just as perfectly delicious as could be! We still have some of our cutting-cake, now almost 3 weeks old, and when I brought it to work everyone was raving about it. Michelle is SO NICE, VERY easy to work with, and also VERY flexible. Her work is amazing - love her and her cakes!!

I cannot say enough good things about Michelle's cakes!! Words like "heavenly," "scrumptious," and "mouthwatering" come to mind. She was a joy to work with - extremely willing to work with our ideas, and so helpful with figuring out honest sizes and amounts. When I called 2 weeks before out wedding in a panic because our counts were coming in ALOT lower than we had expected, Michelle helped calm me down and suggested ways to reduce our cake without losing height or flavors so we actually SAVED money!! She was one of the most resonably priced bakers in town, and I know this because I think we researched at least 25, and actually tried 6 or 8. She even made our cake topper for us and personalized my husband's groom's cake to mimic a family sign. We used several of her flavors - Chocolate with chocolate buttercream filling, white with a strawberry moose/cream that was heavenly, an orange-dreamsicle flavor (that yes, does taste like the cake form of the childhood ice cream favorite), and my husband's favorite - Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling and a peanut butter icing! It was so rich and flavorful... and a sugar coma because it was like a buckeye with every bite. John has already said that all his future birthday cakes must come from Michelle! We had some kitchen cake left over that was white cake with white buttercream and all my co-workers raved about how decadent it was. If you like flavorless cakes, this is not the place for you. But if you like buttery, moist, I'm gonna make an O-face cake (hahaha), then you have to try these.

Michelle did a fantastic job with our cake. Everybody loved the cake and the design. We had so many compliments on the buckeye flavor (which is the best flavor). We thought we ordered too much cake but there was none left at the end of the night. The only thing wrong with our cake was the ribbon color was a lot darker than we asked and we had one filling flavor messed up. Sometimes it was difficult to get a hold of Michelle but once you did she was amazing. We highly recommend Sauer Cakes!!

Sauer Cakes made a beautiful and delicious cake for our wedding. She has a variety of options, and you will find it hard to choose because all of them are so good. As I write this, I am thinking about defrosting the leftover cake in my freezer! Sauer Cakes is a great value and she will work with you to stay within your budget (actually, we ended up under budget) Michelle is sometimes difficult to get a hold of (she is busy!) but don't worry it. She will come through and will exceed your cake expectations!

Michelle from Sauer Cakes actually made me fall in love with wedding cake. Her buttercream frosting is phenomenal and her flavor combinations are endless! She is creative and can design the cake of your dreams - and also will be patient with you while you change your mind a million times :)

She provides free tastings, and she gave me a take home box for my parents who could not come! Sauer Cakes gives you a new anniversary cake so that you don't have to eat year-old frozen cake!

Everyone loved the cake! i was a bit leary in the begining cause it was difficult to get in touch with Michelle, she redeemed herself with making such a great cake. I would reccomend her any day,

Cake and cupcakes were to die for. Everyone was in love with them. Snickerdoodle cupcakes were the biggest hit. And I will definitely use Sauer cakes for anything in the future!

We met with Michelle over a year before our wedding and were blown away by the options she had in cake flavors and designs. Not only were they delicious, but each cake she made was beautiful. One of the things that stood out for us was that she promises to remake the top tier of your wedding cake for your one year anniversary! I'm a pretty traditional bride, but the one thing I was not looking forward to was eating old freezer burnt cake on our anniversary, so I was ecstatic that she provides this service! She also allowed us to pick two cake flavors without an additional cost. We chose a round four tier cake and Michelle placed the fresh flowers, provided by our florist, on it at the venue. It took our breath away when we saw it! I was nervous having booked so far in advance that It wouldn't taste as well I remembered, but it was delicious! The only thing from not getting a perfect rating would be responsiveness, it would occasionally take a while for an email response, but she did respond. Overall, our cake was delicious and beautiful. We were very pleased and our guests loved it!

AMAZING cake! My husband and I didn't really care all that much about our cake because neither of us are "cake" people. Until Michelle came along.. Whoa! We LOVE her cake!! It tastes amazing and I cannot wait until next year when we get our anniversary cake (included with the cost of your wedding cake). I gave her 3 stars on responsiveness because it was hard to get ahold of her at times. She was super flexible with us and even delivered our cake late in the evening when we requested because it was an outdoor ceremony and reception and we didn't want it sitting out all day. We had 3 different flavor combinations and the cake design was exactly what I wanted. LOVE her and her cake!

She did an amazing job with our cake. Everyone actually thought it was fake because it looked so great! Still getting comments even a month after the wedding about how great it tasted. Great quality of cake for the amount paid. Cheapest around the area that I could find for that great of work. She was very nice to work with. I would and am recommending Sauer Cakes! Wouldn't have wanted anyone else!

Michelle Sauer was awesome! My wedding cake was beautiful and unique. Michelle worked with me to design exactly what I wanted. It was also the most delicious cake that I have ever had! Everyone raved about it. The only downside, she did take a little longer than I would have liked to get bak to me. Other than that, I was so happy. She is affordable too!

Michelle was a pleasure to work with. She was very responsive in emails and in helping us design our cake. However, when we arrived at our reception there was a huge crack in the cake and it was leaning. But the cake tasted amazing and the other parts looked beautiful. I think it was just an unforseen accident that the cake had those problems. I am hoping to get some money back for that mishap but I have not heard back from her yet. I would recommend her to others.

Our cake was delicious and we received numerous compliments. It looked exactly as we had drawn in our initial meeting. The attention to detail was very apparent.

I agree with some of the other reviews. I'll start off by saying that our cake was absolutely delicious, and exactly what I asked for, that should be simple enough for a happy customer. The problems were mostly that Michelle is extremely busy and very hard to get a hold of when there are questions or concerns. This is all well and good, and for good reason, her cakes are reasonably priced and taste amazing, but planning a wedding is very stressful and there are many vendors that a bride is trying to work with all at once. Better communication, simply hiring a neighbors kid to respond to emails would be a simple solution to happier customers.

That said I want to reiterate that the cake was DELICIOUS and it did turn out really great.

Michelle has a fantastic product. Her cakes look and taste like perfection. However, her communication needs much improvement. She is very hard to get ahold of by phone or through email. It took multiple emails and my questioning if she wanted our business to get a reply leading up to our end of October wedding.
Now, as our one year anniversary was approaching, I called and left messages twice with no response. It is over a week passed our anniversary.
I would like to be able to give her a better review because her product is fantastic, but her communication skills need major improvement.

My husband and I used Sauer Cakes for our wedding. Michelle was a ton of fun to meet with and the tasting was a blast! She played with my 4 year old and the Cakes and flavors were amazing! She was slow to respond however, and it made me a touch nervous. Or wedding cake looked nice, and the flavor I picked out waS AMAZING! (We ended up not liking my husbands so much.) My only complaint was her response time being slow, but other than that she was a joy.

We gave such a low score for a couple of reasons. I will point out the good things first, my husband says the cake tasted good. The outside presentation of the cake was really nice and what we asked for. She was friendly and was there on time (although I never saw her).
The things we were not happy with was that we wanted to make changes to the cake fillings and had tried to contact her a few months prior to our wedding to make the changes. We never received a response back, then we got a little concerned a little over a month away from the wedding so we contacted her again to make sure that she had seen where we wanted to make some changes. It took her three weeks and 6 attempts later to contact us. Her reasoning for not getting back sooner to me was that "it's wedding season". Yes, I know and my wedding was 2 weeks away at that point. As frustrating as that was I was satisfied that she understood how we wanted everything and that it would get done right. I was wrong, little did I know when I cut into my cake I would immediately see that the fillings were wrong. The surprising part to me was that the filling was neither our first filling we had selected or the filling we had requested that it be changed to. To add to the frustration it was a fruit filling that I did not like so I did not get to eat any of my cake. I tried to resolve this with her and sent her an email over a month ago, I'm not surprised I have not received a response yet.

Michelle Sauer does have delicious cakes and is very friendly, but if you are looking for a vendor that is easy to work with I would not recommend this vendor. Michelle added a lot more extra stress to our wedding experience because she is extremely hard to get a hold of. My now husband and I had to call her and email her multiple times any time we tried to get a hold of her. The only way we seemed to get a response was to question whether she really wanted our business or not, and to threaten to find another vendor. Even two weeks before my wedding we were fighting to get a hold of her. My wedding was early April so it was not like it was the busy wedding season. In my mind the cake for your wedding is something that should be easy and fun, but that was quickly ruined by the lack of communication and struggle to get in contact with Michelle.

Had an awful experience working with her. The colors I had requested were fuchsia, lavender and dark purple. She made the ugliest peach, baby blue, and navy blue fondant flowers I have ever seen. She charged us 1/4 the price of the entire cake for them. The worst part was that when I emailed her after the wedding. She was very rude to me and told me she should have canceled our contract because she knew I would find a fault in the cake no matter what. All because I had asked her for a discount in the delivery fee. The rest of my wedding was perfect so I didn't let one sour cake ruin the night for me.
