We could not be happier with Sarah and the way she told our wedding day story through her photography. When we received our photos just two weeks after the big day, we quickly texted her, “WE ARE STARSTRUCK!” Sarah’s background is originally in black-and-white photography. This means that she knows how to work with lighting and how to pick the perfect moment to take a shot so that it says a million things all at once. Her attention to detail is phenomenal; as result, the quality of our photos is unparalleled.
If you are planning a wedding in South Bend, especially one on Notre Dame’s campus, Sarah is the one you need. She knows the Basilica and campus like the back of her hand. In turn, she knew exactly what shots to get and where. We both have large families, and she came up with excellent plans to corral everyone as necessary while staying on schedule. In fact, she went out of her way to create an entire wedding day timeline for us and sent it in a smartphone wallpaper format that we could easily send to the wedding party. In addition, she made time to attend our rehearsal so that she could prepare for each aspect of our ceremony and anticipate times to take the best pictures. Sarah was in steady communication with us throughout our wedding planning process. No question was left unanswered, no detail too small. She was willing to wake up in the wee hours of the day to take “getting ready” photos before our morning wedding and even offered to transport bridesmaids to the ceremony in her SUV if it turned out we didn’t have enough drivers. A few months after the wedding, we received a gorgeous photo album from Sarah. She carefully customized the album for us based on pictures of our choosing and spent as long as we needed discussing options that fit our budget. She kept in touch with us as we waited for it to arrive in the mail so there were no concerns about it getting lost anywhere in transit.
It’s one thing to be a phenomenal photographer, but another thing altogether to be a genuinely kind, generous soul. Sarah Sage is both. As my husband says, “She really captures memories. These aren’t just photos.” -

Sarah is the whole package. From the initial meeting to the final photo gallery, Sarah executes everything in a way that makes you feel so special and important. On the actual wedding day her experience speaks volumes! What I personally thought would take hours to get all the photos I wanted, took about 30 minutes with Sarah's amazing direction and fast pace. Truly can not even come up with any reason not to recommend Sarah. You will not be disappointed! -

Sarah made the entire process stress free and enjoyable. She flew out to Washington, D.C. for our engagement shoot, and without ever having seen some of our shot locations, she still found the best spots to photograph. Before the big day, she created an extensive timeline to ensure we captured everything we wanted. On wedding day itself, she was instrumental in keeping us on time the entire day.

From our first meeting with Sarah, she showed us that she was there to help make our wedding day as special as possible. She was willing to walk with us through wedding planning. She was available to answer any questions that we had and provide her expert advice.
The wedding day itself went so smoothly. Both her and her trusty second shooter Grace (aka G money) put us, our wedding party and families at ease. We definitely had a rowdy crew, but they leaned into the joy and chaos that was our wedding and made it so fun.
Looking at our photos, we are so happy with how well she captured us. We spent so much time planning our ceremony, picking our colors and flowers, choosing our decorations and baking sweet treats. We are at a lost for words for how beautifully our pictures turned out and how well you can feel the emotion in each one. We will cherish them forever.

This special touch was carried over to our first consultation appointment in the office, as well, where we were greeted with 'Congratulations Pete and Rachel!' on the display monitor. If you are looking for a photographer who will go the extra mile to make every moment special, Sarah Sage Photography is the one!
Sarah has a keen eye, gives good direction, makes you feel comfortable, and captures stunning detail. Her photos are natural and paint a picture of how you were feeling in that moment. Having Grace as a second skilled photographer made sure that no moment, no matter how small, was left uncaptured. They are a phenomenal team who truly care about making your special day memorable.
Sarah Sage Photography was extremely organized and assisted in planning the entire schedule of the wedding day. Sarah Sage was incredible to work with! From the start, she was extremely helpful, meeting with us to discuss our vision or suggesting a vendor. She helped articulate our vision and put together a day-of timeline. We also had an engagement shoot that allowed us to work together and it made us even more excited for the big day!
I couldn't have made it through our wedding day without her. She was more than just a photographer, helping me put on my dress and my veil. And when there were a few timing hiccups, she kept us moving along and always had a plan. We had shared we wanted to make it to cocktail hour, and she worked with us to be fast and efficient but still capturing beautiful shots. Truly so thankful for her. Our wedding day was perfect thanks to Sarah!

Besides saying “yes!”, booking Sarah was the easiest and BEST decision we made for our wedding! Before even meeting her, we were astounded by the beauty of her photos and even more importantly how REAL the couples looked. When we met Sarah over zoom, we knew it would be a great fit – she had us relaxed and giggling the entire time. She then sent us the cutest welcome packet filled with incredible timelines, sheets of things to think about (like what details to set aside the morning of, what family photos you might like), vendors that she has personally worked with, and to top that off she even sent a dog toy for our little guy, AJ!! Sarah went above and beyond with communication – something that was so critical since we were in Philadelphia during the entire planning process. Sarah was so flexible with us as we flew into South Bend for ONE day for our engagement session. Our engagement session was non-stop fun—even my husband was completely engaged and cracking jokes the entire session with Sarah and Grace. Sarah is incredibly creative and found the most scenic spots on the beach that was unusually crowded for a late September weekend. She was even willing to get in the water to capture “Vogue front-cover” caliber photos. And on our wedding day, Sarah proved to be our life saver time and time again. She typed up a timeline that fit onto the screens of our phones to keep us on track, exhibited leadership with organizing our rather large families for family photos, and saved the day by creating a new bustle for my dress after mine broke right before our first dance. And that was all in addition to capturing the most incredible, jaw-dropping photos. She even DOVE on the ground of the ballroom to get a shot of our dip during our first dance (and yes, I have video evidence of this determination and passion!)
Your photographer is one of the most important decisions to make during the planning process—and I can guarantee you will not regret hiring Sarah! Sarah knows all the ins and outs of a Notre Dame wedding—she and Grace truly made our day stress free and so, so fun! Sarah is 100% the person you want by your side on your wedding day! I'm Blown Away!
YES, YES, YES! Where do I even begin? Sarah and her team went absolutely above and beyond in every aspect of our wedding journey. There aren't enough words to explain how prompt, organized, empathetic, and flexible she is. Wedding planning can be a LOT, especially for someone who's not experienced it before. Sarah knew all the right questions to ask and how to style our photos in our favorite vintage aesthetic. Not only did she capture the memories of our big day, but she helped move our daily schedule along seamlessly. Sarah carries herself with such joy that she's easy to get along with! She made posing for pictures easy and the turnout was absolutely amazing. Choosing Sarah Sage Photography was the BEST decision my husband and I made. Wonder Woman with a camera!
Sarah Sage will do whatever it takes to make sure you have the best wedding day possible! I say wedding day, but really Sarah makes her couples feel like superstars from the moment you book with her. From the start she gave us the star treatment. Sarah was also incredibly helpful in the planning process with reliable vendor references. She is so organized and professional but also very down to earth to make you feel comfortable when shooting. Sarah took our photo requests into account and made sure to get every single one! (and we had quite a few!)
Of course, there is no such thing as perfection and mishaps can happen along the way, but if any issue arose, Sarah was so quick to resolve!! She quite literally bent over backward, sprinted a mile, and soaked in cold water in order to resolve issues and/or get the perfect shots! We had rain in the forecast for our wedding day and I had zero concerns about it because I knew Sarah would have it handled with cute umbrellas and knowing how to still get the best photos.
After our July wedding, Sarah continues to be great to work with. She is so communicative and quick when delivering the previews and album. And again, if there were any issues, Sarah was quick to resolve! Jonathan and I are so happy with our album! Every photo is gorgeous!! A high quantity of photos with the highest of quality! We will absolutely work with her again in the future! -

Where do I begin?! Sarah is just truly amazing as a person and photographer, there aren't enough words to say how grateful we are for Sarah and Micky. For our engagement shoot, we hit multiple spots that were special to us and then to St, Joseph, Michigan for a romantic beach sunset. It was relaxing, beautiful, and most of all FUN! The pictures are like no other and she really captured my husband and I in a way I didn’t know was possible. Sarah and Micky traveled all the way from Indiana where we are from, to Snowshoe, WV for our very intimate wedding. The day was SEAMLESS! With Sarah’s helpful planning, she helped build the timeline from start to finish. Her hard work and fun personality make you forget about any stresses you have about the special day or insecurities you have about yourself. Large Bridal Party? Sarah is your girl!
Sarah is amazing! Not only are her pictures fantastic, but she's incredibly fun and energetic to work with. We had a HUGE bridal party, and she was able to keep everyone in-line & be flexible when necessary. Because Sarah took the time to understand what my husband and I wanted, we were in lockstep every part of the day, and she was able to help carry out our wishes even with all of the craziness of the day. We were able to get our pictures so quickly after the wedding, and I loved all 900+ of them. She is the BEST! Also - highly recommend doing an engagement shoot with her pre-wedding. Sarah Sage went above and beyond to make our wedding the day the absolute best. There are so many qualities that made her stand out out of all of our vendors. She pretty much functioned as our event planner for the day as she helped us out with the timeline to make sure our day went as planned. Worth Every Cent!
Sarah is THE.BEST! She is so personable and easy to work with. I feel stiff when a camera is around and during our engagement pics she made me forget she was ever there and helped me just feel natural. When I was worried about time on my wedding day or little details, she jumped in to help however she could. She also helped us out in a huge way by letting us use her phone and Facebook page to live stream our wedding during the pandemic. Who else would offer to do that?! I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to Sarah to be honest. Sarah was the best choice we made when it came to our wedding vendors. To say she goes above and beyond is an understatement. We liked to joke with her that she doubled as our wedding coordinator because without her I honestly don’t think things would’ve gone as smooth.
What makes Sarah stand out are several things, but I’ll highlight on a few that made us love her. Sarah made an effort to truly get to know us from the beginning. She is extremely easy to talk to and to get along with, and she wants your day to be unique.. and she pays attention to detail.
Another reason we loved working with Sarah is that she is SO organized. She was always prepared - rain or shine. She was there to work with our day of coordinator to make sure we were happy.. even when it came to speaking out for us.. she wasn’t going to let anything ruin our day. She knows what she is doing, and that certainly helped when we prepared for the ceremony and the rest of the day.
Last, but not least, Sarah’s work is beautiful. I can’t tell you how happy we were when going back through our pictures. She took so many pictures to capture the day and all the emotion that came with it. She took her time and made sure it was how we wanted it. She is creative and always finds ways to make your photos stand out from the rest. With her packages, you get to create an album with her, and that was an added bonus, since most photographers I researched didn’t include a photo album. These albums tell a story and she takes the time to make sure it’s told right.
I promise you won’t regret choosing Sarah. We will continue to recommend her over and over! -

Sarah has been extremely professional, responsive, and calming throughout the whole wedding process. She was very flexible when it came to adjusting our photography package. The night before the wedding she reworked our itinerary ensuring it would flow smoothly for the big day due to changing our ceremony times.
We received our full edited pictures with in 2 weeks. Her work is very creative, and I can’t wait for my Italian photobook!

Sarah Sage Photography did a spectacular job capturing the wonderful moments and special glances throughout our day. She is very detail orientated and helped us to plan our day so that we could meet all of our wants and needs. Her creativity, professionalism, and flexibility made great moments happen.
Sarah agreed to help us take several large group photos per my request. However, when it came down to it at the wedding, the idea was much better as one photo of a large group of people. The single photo ended up being more efficient and better in the end for our wall at home. Sarah easily adjusted to my wants that day and we are extremely happy with the results! We have received an abundance of compliments on the photo Sarah was able to help us create. If you have an idea, she will do her best to help you capture it.
Overall, Sarah provided us with exceptional photographs for our house, social media and our amazing album. She worked diligently to meet our needs and upheld the deadlines she gave us for the fantastic sneak peeks and the gorgeous album. Hiring Sarah to photograph our wedding was the best decision we made in our wedding planning process. From the moment we first met her, we immediately clicked. We could tell just in conversation with her that she understood our vision and respected our wishes for our photos. Not only that, she was genuinely interested in getting to know us and become more familiar with the type of couple that we are. As the process went on, she was not only our photographer, she became a friend. Sarah has extensive knowledge of not only the South Bend area wedding community, but also the wedding industry as a whole. She was the first vendor that we hired, so we trusted her to give us recommendations for other vendors, which all worked out perfectly. Our engagement session was fun and made us comfortable with the photography process. She was willing to travel to us in Chicago from the Michiana area which was also a huge plus! She was easy to contact via both email and text, and we were in frequent communication leading up to the wedding. She was incredibly organized, even providing a detailed wedding day timeline that we were able to distribute to our entire wedding party and family. On the wedding day itself, she was a superstar. We had a large, goofy bridal party, and she kept everything moving and we got every picture that we wanted. Not only that, she was dedicated to our day. We paid for a ten hour package, and she was there for thirteen (or maybe even more!), just because she felt like those extra hours would give us the best value and photos. She delivered a blog post with a hundred of our wedding photos before we even left on our honeymoon two days later. We are also provided with not only a flash drive of all of our photos, but also the nicest, highest quality wedding photo album. It is the most unique we’ve ever seen.
We could not be any happier with Sarah Sage Photography or the photos that we've received. We would recommend Sarah to absolutely anyone!

Planning a wedding? The BEST decision you can possibly make is to hire Sarah Sage as your photographer. From day one, Sarah stood out from the rest. As an out of state bride, it was imperative to me that the photographer be comfortable working remotely. In our initial Skype session, Sarah was professional and prepared with her portfolio and details ready. She sent me the necessary files in advance and brainstormed fun photo ideas given that my husband is 2 feet taller. Sarah was remarkable in allowing us to customize our package to stay within budget without pressuring us to buy options we didn’t want. Amazingly, Sarah drove 14 hours to shoot our engagement session in Nashville. Knowing budget was important, Sarah included all the pictures from the engagement session in our package complementary if we paid a 50% deposit. This was chump change in comparison to how incredible the photos were. I was amazed at her energy even though our wedding was still a year away. Sarah’s passion and willingness to go above and beyond were evident as our engagement session was supposed to be 2 hours, but because of weather, Sarah graciously gave us 5 hours. Furthermore, Sarah had researched idyllic locations in Nashville and was prepared with cold towels, bottled water, and mirrors for cooling off and touching up in the heat. When it came time to plan for the wedding, Sarah was more than a photographer, but a coordinator helping us with our timeline from waking up to going to sleep; a knowledgeable guest offering insight to florists, DJs, bakeries, etc. (as an out of town bride, how do I know which salon is best? Which bakery is yummy?); and most importantly, a friend. I cannot express how much it meant to be able to vent to, rely on, and giggle with Sarah throughout the planning process. When there was a question about centerpieces, Sarah had a solution. When I wanted to have different styles of dress on my wedding day, Sarah was excited. She was patient with my questions via text and flexible with changes, sending an updated timeline whenever there was a change. My stress faded every time I talked with Sarah because she was so on the ball. Again, her patience was evident as I was late in making a list of family formals (so smart of her to have you do that before the wedding – it’s a godsend!) and worked with us to make the list 2 days before the wedding. Sarah came to our rehearsal on her own time and made sure she spoke with the other vendors things would go smoothly. On the morning of my wedding, it became apparent to me how much of a friend Sarah had become and how comfortable I was with her when she walked in the bridal suite and a wave of relief washed over me. Her presence alone calmed my nerves and got me excited. She was nothing short of amazing throughout the day. We paid for 10 hours – she gave us 15. We wanted pictures across Notre Dame’s campus – she trekked with all her equipment. We had a huge bridal party and even bigger family – Sarah was remarkable in dealing with everyone. When I was antsy, she reminded me to breathe. When we were cutting it close on time, Sarah stayed focused. Being photographed by Sarah is like hanging out with an old best friend, the laughs come naturally and the love flows. My husband and I never once felt awkward, staged, or uncomfortable. Sarah kept the mood light – we forgot we were being photographed and had fun with each other. At our reception, Sarah took incredible pictures of everything. 11 days after our wedding, the day after we got back from our honeymoon, we had all our pictures back in an online gallery. THIS IS UNHEARD OF! Every other photographer I talked to said it would take 6 weeks to return the gallery – not with Sarah. Our pictures were so much better than I could have ever dreamed – she captured every moment of our unbridled joy from every angle. Going through our pictures, we felt the excitement and happiness from our wedding day all over again. The pictures were perfect! Though this review is glowing, it stills falls short of expressing how extraordinary Sarah Sage is. If you want a photographer who will go above and beyond, who will respect your budget but give you work worth 100 times more, who will exhaust herself to get your shot, who seeks your input but knows what she’s doing, who you can trust to capture your moment, who you will feel comfortable with, and who will become a wonderful friend in the process – choose Sarah Sage. You will not regret it. Thank you, Sarah, for being the most incredible photographer – and friend – a couple could ask for. We love you. -

Sarah is very attentive, thorough and wonderful to work with! She brings out everyone’s confidence! She doesn’t know a stranger and loves to have fun! It seems like Sarah never stops taking pictures and as a result you get thousands and I mean literally thousands of amazing shots from posed to candids! During our engagement shoot Sarah climbed into a freezing cold creek that was probably a good 2-3 feet just to get the right shot! Two months later she was climbing through 2-3 feet of snow for the most amazing magical Disney Princess winter wonderland wedding photographs! I can’t get over how gorgeous these snowy pictures turned out! We had a very large bridal party and at times they could get rowdy. Sarah knew exactly how to keep everyone on task and get the photos needed done quickly as to not lose anyone’s attention! She goes above and beyond for her couples. She is always a text or email away. Constantly updating you and making you feel valued and special! Her timeliness is impeccable, our wedding photos were done and given to us in less than two weeks after the wedding! During our initial meetings with her, we described the type of photography we wanted - some posed shots but more in-the-moment, photojournalistic style to capture the day as it unfolded. Wow, did she deliver! Some "ordinary" moments turned into absolute works of art and were simply stunning the way she captured them! At our reception we would have never even known she was there working so hard - she felt very behind the scenes yet when the photos came back, it was as if she was right in the thick of it the whole time.
We didn't find out until much later in the day that Sarah had actually injured her ankle earlier in the week. We noticed her limping around in the morning and asked if everything was okay or if we could do anything to help but she brushed it off and said we didn't need to worry about anything. We have no idea what kind of pain she was in that day but she fulfilled her commitments to us without any complaints - a TRUE professional in every sense of the word.
We were married on January 30 and had hoped for a winter wonderland. Instead, it was 40 degrees, sunny, beautiful, and not a snow flake in sight - or any left on the ground even! Two weeks later on Valentine's Day weekend, South Bend received 6+ inches of snowfall. We got all dressed up again and Sarah met the two of us for a separate portrait session - free of charge!

Sarah was very professional and the turn around time to get our photos was much shorter than my friends who were married around the same time. The quality of her pictures is top notch, I get so many compliments on them. I'd definitly recommend Sarah Sage Photography for your event!
