Maria was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.
Eloping overseas is such an emotional and intimate experience, and having someone there who genuinely cared about us and our day made all the difference. From the months of planning right through to the moment we said our vows, Maria went above and beyond in every possible way.
Her experience in the wedding industry is so evident. Every detail was handled so effortlessly and professionally that we were able to completely relax and be fully present with each other. She thought of everything before we even had to ask.
On the day itself, she was steaming AJ’s suit, helping me into my dress, adjusting details, coordinating timings, calming nerves and making sure every single moment flowed perfectly. What could have felt stressful felt calm, exciting and incredibly special because of her.
Maria doesn’t just create beautiful weddings, she creates an experience where couples feel supported, understood and genuinely cared for. We never felt like “just another couple.” She put so much heart into our day and it showed in every single moment.

Planning a destination wedding in Santorini all the way from Australia was no small feat, but finding Maria from Santorini Wedding Planners made it not only possible—but truly magical.
From the moment I came across Maria, I had a feeling she was the right person to help bring our dream wedding to life. I had spoken to a few other brides who shared glowing reviews of their experience with her, and I’m so grateful I trusted them—because everything they said was absolutely true.
Maria’s communication throughout the entire process was nothing short of extraordinary. As a nervous and anxious bride on the other side of the world, I sent countless emails, and Maria replied with such incredible patience, warmth, and reassurance every single time. Her empathy and calm nature made all the difference—especially during stressful moments. She always knew just what to say to ease my mind and help me refocus on what truly mattered.

Most importantly, everything was organized down to the smallest detail, exactly as we had discussed, with no surprises. My husband and I just returned from a magical wedding and honeymoon in Greece. Although simple, we wanted a wedding celebration filled with meaning and small details that reflected our personality and created long-lasting memories. Maria’s infinite patience and willingness to fulfill our vision were instrumental in achieving our dream wedding. Rather than imposing specific vendors, like other wedding planners we spoke with before did, Maria was prompt to offer different options and find new alternatives to suit our needs and budget. We felt that she truly had our best interests at heart and that became apparent throughout the whole process, from the planning period to the wedding day. She was always understanding and we never felt judged for not wanting or being able to spend on X, Y, or Z items.

Friendly and professional service
Shirley and her team provided a friendly and professional service. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We did not visit our wedding venue or meet Shirley in person until our arrival in Santorini, however over the 11 months of planning Shirley guided us well and made sure everything was on track for our special day. Shirley would send us videos and photos of our venue, flowers, table designs, etc.

The thing we wanted most of all for our wedding was to be 100% ourselves, without fiction, without script, where everyone could feel comfortable and even our children could be loud. Not only did Shirley allow this to happen with delicacy and elegance, skilfully stepping in when necessary and silently stepping aside to let us enjoy our moment, but she assisted us along the way with excellent professionalism.
Like many, unfortunately, our wedding suffered many setbacks due to the pandemic, we had to postpone it several times in a state of total uncertainty and discontent.
Shirley was always by our side reassuring us, looking for practical solutions, but above all always encouraging us.
I must say that she was no longer our wedding planner, someone paid to do a job, but she had become an expert friend, a point of reference. We could not have wished for anything more than Shirley and her staff. Dimitris (photographer) and Morgan (make-up) made our wedding day, a unique, harmonious, relaxing experience.

SWP are professional yet caring planners that took a genuine intererst in your special day, where there was never a request too difficult or too over reaching. We had complete trust in SWP in everything they presented and being overseas, trust in your planner is everything. Nothing asked was too much trouble, even planning a helicopter transfer to our reception something quite extravagant which made our evening rather lavish!

My wedding was something out of a movie !
Words cannot express our gratitude for Shirley and her team. My wedding was something out of a movie ! It was the PERFECT wedding and it's all because of Shirley and Maria. All I had were ideas on Pinterest and thousands of miles between me and my wedding venue, the rest was all Shirley’s magic and she brought everything to life. She helped plan a spectacular two day event and had every detail under control, was ready with back-up plans, and implementation was seamless. She was respectful of my ideas, budget, and understood culture differences and bridged the gaps where needed, especially when it came to communicating with my husband Michael, who can be challenging at times LOL :-). Every moment was perfect and will be remembered as one of the best weddings by our family and friends and we could not have done any of this without Shirley.

Christina Sent on 10/09/2017I planned our elopement from Los Angeles, and it could not have been any more perfect thanks to Santorini Wedding Planners. Shirley didn't miss a single detail. We met her the day before our ceremony. She walked us through how the wedding would work and gave us a timeline for the following day. She even ensured that I got my dress and veil steamed, and it would be delivered without the groom seeing it.
The wedding day could not have gone any smoother. My hair and make up girls, Bella and Renia, whom Shirley booked, were absolutely wonderful. I've had my hair and make up done many times, and they were hands down the sweetest bunch that ensured I looked like how I wanted. Shirley arrived before the ceremony, and brought her wonderful assistant Lauren. Lauren ended up staying with me in the bridal suite and helping me with all the little things (even zipping my dress for me). It all came together with the traditional musicians Shirley booked leading me in a grand entrance. Walking down the stairs to my groom was the best feeling, and I barely had to lift a finger to make it all happen- Shirley did all of the coordinating behind the scenes for me. Our Greek officiant was perfect and let us incorporate our own vows, and the cake was delicious - Shirley even arranged for a gluten free cake, no easy feat on the island.
I would recommend Shirley to anyone considering eloping in Santorini. She is kind, professional, and very well connected to the best of the best!

We planned our wedding along with a boat cruise from the US and although we didn't meet in person until the days before our wedding we felt like we knew them already. Wedding of our dreams 🇬🇷
We are so incredibly grateful to Maria for helping us create the wedding of our dreams. From the moment we met her, we knew we were in kind and capable hands. Her warm personality and genuine desire to personalise our day really stood out, and it’s what made us choose her over other planners.
Although we had a few communication challenges early on, these faded as the day drew closer, and we always felt that Maria truly cared about getting everything right for us. She really listened to what we wanted, and it showed in every detail. The flowers were especially unforgettable – they were everything we had dreamed of and more. Walking into our venue and seeing them was such a special moment.
Maria went above and beyond, meeting us a whole year before the wedding to take us to the venue and food tasting, which was such a thoughtful gesture. In the week leading up to the wedding, she guided us through the final preparations, took us to the pre-wedding meeting, lent us a steamer, and even let us send our decorations to her home in Santorini – a huge help that took so much stress off our shoulders.

Santorini Wedding Planners
Santorini wedding planners made my vision come to life. I was a bit hesitant selecting a wedding planner who I have never worked with before but they were so kind, patient and created the perfect wedding for my husband and I. The cake was delicious. Flowers were perfect. We even had fireworks!!!!
She had sent me spreadsheets with pricing, options, schedules and timing for everything. It was very helpful to keep track of things we needed to get done. We booked our wedding date two years prior and she kept me on track throughout the process. Even when we arrived, she gave us an information packet with all the details so I did not need to remember anything on our big day!
With all weddings, budget was important to us and we spent about what we budgeted for. We had a smaller group of people but it was exactly what we wanted. They worked out every detail, including the transportation of every guest from the airport to our villas, between excursions and to the wedding venue. It was very convenient and left me with less stress. All fees were included in the cost of their services and did not require us to pay multiple partners, which helped when paying funds internationally. -

Anastasia Sent on 10/04/2017I spoke to many wedding planners before I chose Santorini Wedding Planners. We wanted to be married at the church, both me and my now husband are Russian Orthodox, most of other wedding planners told us that to be married at Greek church we both need to be Greek Orthodox. This is what I loved about SWP that they didn't push us towards the symbolic ceremony like others, but helped us to make it possible to get married at the church. Another thing I liked that they have templates, so when you ask them about photographers/make up artists/ hair stylists etc. they already have a template to send you, it is very organized and very well presented. Lastly, extremely important: they live in Santorini all the time, so they know all the restaurants, hotels, venues... I spoke to many people who live in different cities/countries and who call themselves wedding planners who will put together a standard schedule that doesn't change at all (reception at Pyrgos and sunset cruise the next day, things like that) and you won't even get to meet them, on the wedding day there will be another assistant of assistant that you probably will hear of for the first time and who is not the person you spoke to throughout the process. Shirley and Maria are always in Santorini, they know their stuff and have an individual approach and won't leave you on the Big Day, VERY IMPORTANT!
Shirley even met with us in New York prior to the wedding to introduce herself and to answer questions. Maria - her assistant is very nice and very thoughtful, we absolutely loved her! The wedding day itself everything was going super smooth on Shirley's end, everyone arrived on time and did an excellent job.
If I can only give one suggestion for improvement - that will be communication, as there was few times when I had to wait over a month to hear back, I was going crazy not knowing what's going on and if we still will have a wedding.
