My wedding turned out amazing and I have to give a ton of thanks to Steve and his lovely wife for providing the perfect venue! They were so kind, helpful and easy going. To have such a beautiful venue meant that the work on the bride is a lot less! No need to decorate too much when its already so nice!

We had small wedding with children invited and it was the best venue. The kids had fun and the adults enjoyed themselves just as much. They even let us do a live butterfly release and it was such a hit!

Thank you Sanger House for helping make my wedding the best day of my life!

The gardens were simply beautiful. We hosted an afternoon reception on 9/6 for 70 following our 7/29 destination wedding ceremony and it was the perfect venue! Steve was incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating. Our guests loved the "secret garden" feel and had only positive compliments. We're so happy with our event!

Perfect spot for an Intimate Wedding Celebration

After a couple attempts at planning a larger wedding fell through due to COVID-19, my husband and I pivoted, cut our guest list to 27 people and moved our wedding celebration to Sanger House Gardens. We are so incredibly glad that we did! Owner Steve is so incredibly kind, and offers the perfect sanctuary in the heart of downtown Milwaukee to host your small event. The gardens have many little pockets of beauty, making it perfect for a ceremony, cocktail hour and reception venue all in one, without having to worry about the hassle of a "room flip." Our nieces and nephews loved exploring the hidden paths and, there are so many lovely spots for photos as well. Additionally, Steve has so many amenities that make hosting your event a breeze - from banquet tables and cafe lights, to tents in case of inclement weather and an easy to use SONOS sound system and mic setup for speeches, Steve has taken out so much of the stress with all the amenities at the ready.

Steve was flexible and accommodating with us, making vendor drop-offs easy to manage, meeting us for a rehearsal walk through, and worked with our planner to put together our vision for the day. On our wedding day, Steve was there the whole time making sure everything ran smoothly, and the gardens were so beautifully maintained, you can tell that he puts so much love into making this a beautiful and special spot.

If you're looking for a sweet spot to host your intimate event, this is truly Milwaukee's hidden gem. One thing to note - your event needs to wrap at 9pm because this is an all outdoor venue in a residential neighborhood. This was no problem for us, but it is worth noting so you can plan an "after-party" location for your guests.

Stunning garden venue for small weddings

This venue is absolutely gorgeous. It's a hidden gem in the Brewers Hill neighborhood, available (if you can get your booking in before it's snapped up!) at a price that's unmatched given the beauty of the space. It only fits so many - we had about 50 guests and that was about maximum capacity - but if you're planning a small wedding, this is a dream venue. It did require more in-depth space and logistics planning to feel confident that everyone/everything would fit in the space as we'd planned, so it's not a bad idea to bring your measuring tape and take plenty of notes when you visit. Steve (the owner, who lives onsite) is very friendly and helpful, and is amenable to working with whatever vendors you choose.

We rented the garden and part of the house for our modest wedding and reception at the end of August. The greenery was very lush; a variety of butterflies fluttered about. Sangerhouse Gardens was a beautiful venue for purpose; it handled 55 people very comfortably, with plenty of space outdoors for the catering and tables. The deck worked very well for the musician and announcements. For the ceremony, the prettiest locations require that most people in attendance stand, with some space for chairs for older guests. For socializing, there's a few short paths people can wander down for a little privacy. The location near downtown was good also; we wrapped up with a carriage ride to a classy downtown hotel, a great way to start the honeymoon. Finally, Steve - the owner of the venue - was always quite helpful. Overall, we felt like the venue was a very good value for a wedding like ours.
