Sanborn Event Center Reviews

I LOVE THE SANBORN CENTER. We decided to get married in DeLand, since the Catholic Church we attend is located there, however Wedding Venue selections are slim there. You either get married in a trendy barn setting or an outdoor setting, all which are beautiful - but not what we wanted. We wanted to be inside and air conditioned. I found the Sanborn Center online and immediately reached out to them. Lysette Santiago was a god-send over there. She was so helpful with everything! From executing the contract to making sure all the minor details I wanted handled were taken care of. We reserved the center for a Saturday which allowed us 8 hours of rental time, plus 2 hours for vendors to set up. Lysette even let me come in the day before (Friday before 4:00) to set up some of the frames and decorations I wanted out in the atrium. The center looked beautiful and our guests were surprised to find something so elegant and sophisticated in quaint little DeLand, Florida. We didn't use any flowers (except our bouquets from the ceremony and the hydrangea centerpieces), because the atrium itself didn't need any flowers to bring it to life. The natural light beaming through the windows was enough decoration as is, plus all the frames and knick knacks I had laid about. Lysette even let me re-organize the furniture so that it spaced things out the way I wanted. It was basically like welcoming our friends and family to our very own home, decorated and personalized the way we wanted. I would recommend this venue to anyone for any occasion. Not to mention that the dance floor is HUGE!!! We looked at a few other venues and the floors were either brought in and small or just tiny to begin with. Sanborn's dance floor takes up 1/3 of Ballroom A, but we combined the two A and B ballrooms and used it as a Grand Room making it the perfect size for our 130 guests (there was plenty of room for people to get around but we could've easily fit 200). Also, there was ample parking for our guests.

I had my wedding reception at the Sanborn Center a few weeks ago and I cannot express enough how thankful I am for this venue! One of the staff members, Liz, worked with my mom and I throughout planning and she was so amazing! She helped us make everything happen and was so accommodating any time we needed her. I was not even sure who worked the night of my wedding, but it didn't matter because I trusted everyone at Sanborn. The reception was absolutely beautiful and really didn't need too many decorations, because the whole building is pretty. We set up patio games on the patio, which looked so good next to the pond/fountain out back. I originally picked this venue for the size, AC, and bathrooms (which are surprising hard things to find in the area), but ended up falling in love with everything about Sanborn.

The Sanborn center was a wonderful place to work with and was very flexible working with my coordinator and the extra things I wanted on site to make my vision happen. We only used the center for our reception, our wedding was off site at a family friends property. The staff was just as great working with myself and coordinator. I never ran into any problems. The price is a decent price, you get more for your buck then other locations we had looked at. Chairs and tables are included and you get the entire building for your event and your caterer has a huge kitchen so your food is freshly served hot or cold. We were very satisfied with our reception and everything turned out actually how I thought it would maybe even more!

Very professional staff, courteous and friendly. Very clean and ample space for functions.

This event was an awards dinner and fundraiser for a non-profit agency. Between the beautiful facility, lovely decor and great service, we were delighted. Our event was well-attended and we achieved our goals. The on-site staff made us feel like guests rather than customers. Thank you, Lysette, Rita and everyone!

The Sanborn Center is a beautiful facility for any event. We held the Volusia League of Cities Annual Awards Banquet there in June 2015 and were very pleased with the facility and the professionalism of the staff. We plan to hold other functions there in the future.
