  Best DJ Ever!

  DJ Dale was an absolutely amazing MC/DJ for our long-awaited wedding reception. His ability to read the room, while balancing our own requests, guest requests, and his own song lists was excellent. From the time of booking, he was communicative, professional, and wanted to ensure that our personal tastes and style were reflected in the music and overall vibe of the night. Our guests are still raving months later about what a great time they had, and we owe that largely in part to DJ Dale. He even went above and beyond afterwards to put together some TikTok's and share additional photos that I'll treasure forever from our best day ever. THANK YOU!

  Dale was an awesome recommendation to us! He responded very fast and the best part thru text messages! He did everything according to the timeline. Very professional and never a dull moment. we love him because he played all the songs we love!

  From the very beginning of the planning process, Dale has been fantastic to work with. He is an extremely talented DJ and emcee and created a fun, energizing atmosphere for our guests. I really appreciated his ability to work with my father to give him recommendations for the father/daughter dance and listen to all of my family's song recommendations while keeping me fully in the loop. He knows what the crowd wants to hear and understands how to create the balance between the younger and older crowds… look no further – book DJ Dale for your next event!

  We had the best time ever thanks to DJ Dale! He created such a fun environment and kept the crowd moving all night long. He not only followed our requested playlist, but he added to it with better songs than we could have even come up with. He could tell what music our crowd enjoyed and orchestrated everything perfectly. His MC'ing was perfect. Not too over the top, but energetic enough that everyone really enjoyed having him there. Highly recommend him!!

  Our wedding coordinator recommended several DJs to us, including Dale Gottschalk at San Diego DJ & Video. When we first met with Dale, we liked him a lot and he was attentive to our taste in music. Dale was great to work with throughout the process! He did an awesome job as our DJ and emcee at our wedding. He was very professional and a pleasure to work with. He provided the sound system for the ceremony, up-lighting, and the awesome music! He threw in some great songs that we didn't have on our song list and got the crowd on the dance floor. We were very happy with his services and his professionalism.

  Dale is extremely professional, and excellent artist and very responsive and flexible. I've used him for my wedding and other events and have been beyond pleased with him and his team every time. As a DJ, he can sense the crowd to get the energy going or toned down, as needed, or as the bride/groom want. He has a wide variety of music and excellent taste to manage the play list for the crowd. His ability here is more of an art.
  As a photographer and videographer, he is also artistic and very good. He has an excellent eye to capture the look the client wants on their special day or event.
  His prices are exceptional for the quality one receives.

  Picking a DJ is one of the trickiest vendors to select. Everyone and their mom has a DJ that they want to recommend to you. We selected Dale based on the recommendation of our amazing florist Suzan M. Florals and we are so glad we did. Meeting with Dale pre-wedding was fun and casual. We met at Karl Strauss and chatted over drinks. He has an extensive background in music (experience and educational) and has been in the business for something like 20 years. He had every song that we requested in his library and was very organized and professional. He was great at keeping the toasts, dances, and bouquet toss flowing without a hiccup. The icing on the cake is that not only is Dale an excellent DJ, but he's also a talented musician. We had him play acoustic guitar during cocktail hour and it totally set the mood to the ocean vibe we were looking for. When it came time to party - he set the pace for all of our guests and they packed the dance floor all-night. Dale is awesome, energetic, and easy to work with. We highly recommend him!

  If you would like a mediocre DJ for your event, who's okay, but basically just hits 'play' and 'next' on his canned list of wedding tunes, this is your guy. Dale was very nice and communicative when we first met, until we signed the contract. Then we never heard from him. Two weeks before the wedding I reached out to check in with him, ask for some ceremony music suggestions and sent him our list of must-plays and genre requests for the reception. His only reply was a link to his website and Facebook. He never double checked with us which songs we wanted for daddy/daughter, garter toss, etc. Therefore he ended up playing the wrong song for the garter toss. He didn't even confirm that he was coming (he had been paid and contract signed, but no word for months) until the DAY OF. What an unnecessary cause of stress for a bride. We had described the different styles of music we wanted at our wedding - 90's pop, recent hits, some Latin infusion. He had no idea what to do. None of the songs were mixed together or transitioned nicely, like a true DJ would have. Absolutely no clue how to incorporate a Latin vibe. His photo on his site is probably 20 years old, he's actually a middle aged dude who doesn't know party music. Everyone felt inclined to make requests to give him an idea of what he should be playing. I ended up tapping one of my friends to write out a list of music for Dale to play because nobody was feeling Dale's choices. You'd be better off putting Pandora on. On top of that,I didn't find out until after the wedding, but he had asked my 17 year old cousin to film the wedding using his camera! He then pulled a bait and switch, overcharging us by $50 to cover the cost of the videos! That my little cousin recorded! For his own promotional use on his YouTube and Facebook! He has a cheesy announcing voice and made some tasteless jokes as well. I'd say save the money and put music on shuffle, or get a real DJ.
