Highly recommend!!
Sam was an amazing wedding photographer! Although we opted out of an engagement session, we immediately clicked with her on our wedding day. She made us feel comfortable, relaxed, and confident the entire time. She was punctual, professional, and gave great pose recommendations that felt natural. We also really appreciated her flexibility—since we skipped the engagement session, she offered alternatives (e.g. extra hour of coverage) which meant a lot to us. Her communication throughout the process was clear and intuitive, and the pre-wedding portal we filled out helped ease our minds and ensured we were aligned. We would highly recommend her to any couple looking for a photographer who is both skilled and a joy to work with. We would love to work with her again in the future. -

If you are looking for the best photographer in the DMV, look no further. Sam was better than we could have ever dreamed for. We never had professional photos taken together and were scared they would look awkward but from our engagement session to our wedding day, Sam made every moment relax, fun, and effortless. Getting the photos back we were amazed on how good they (and we) looked! She gave the best sneak peaks from both sessions and was always on time, responsive, and gave us great ideas. Her timeline guided our day of and she pivoted where needed to get us everything we needed. I am so excited to relive our day again and again through her photos. -

Sam is an amaaaaazingly talented photographer! She captured the pictures on our wedding day so beautifully. Sam was the lead photographer for my wedding, and for one of my close friend's weddings. On top of already being super charismatic, Sam really invests the time in getting to know her couples on a personal level and making them feel comfortable while taking photos -- an experience that can be awkward for many. She knows how to get everyone having fun, and she can adapt to crazy situations and weather changes on the fly. We had to adapt a large portion of the photography timeline on my wedding day because of a bad storm and Sam handled this like a pro. Her editing skills are amazing and I'd describe her style as timeless, romantic, and moody. Sam is truly the kindest person ever and you really want people like her in your corner on one of the most important days of your life. You will not regret booking her!! -

My husband and I are from out of the area and found Sam's work through social media and instantly fell in love with her style. During our initial call, we really hit it off with Sam, who is so genuine, kind, and compassionate towards her couples. Sam made us feel comfortable and kept it light and fun during our engagement shoot (which is not easy to do). She effortlessly captured our engagement session and wedding. She made herself available anytime to chat about our vision, timelines, specific goals and ideas. Sam's energy throughout the shoot/wedding day really helped elevate the feelings that come through in the photos- love and authenticity. Our wedding day was a whirlwind, but the moment of receiving our preview photos absolutely blew us away. We felt like we were living our wedding day all over again! The details she captured and special moments were just stunning and nothing short of magical. She is your biggest hype woman too- my husband and I are still talking about how she kept gassing us up during photos. Having your best memories captured by her is a dream come true. We are so incredibly grateful to have found Sam, she is a true gem. -

We have used Sam for fall photoshoots, our engagement shoot, our rehearsal dinner, and our wedding. She is an absolute dream to work with. She is professional, timely, creative, supportive, and all around the best out there. She goes above and beyond her role as a photographer even to fix my hair and veil throughout the day. She has so many ideas for poses that capture raw emotion. I can't say enough good things about her. She was there for our entire wedding process for anything that we needed, even if it didn't have to do with her photography. She provided next day sneak peeks that were absolutely incredible. She felt like my #1 hypeman on the wedding day. My husband and I are so grateful for her and can't wait to use her again for the future! I definitely recommend using Sam for photography!! She is not only AMAZING at what she does, but she is such a wonderful person to work with. She brings your wedding vision to life through her photographs and she is so personable and makes you feel completely comfortable. I had some things happen on my wedding day that were out of my control (bad weather being one of the factors). Sam did not make me feel stressed at all. She let me know that there is still plenty of time for photos and that she’s got it under control which put me at ease and she really did have everything under control. She moved through different family pictures and other groups so quickly with plenty of time to sneak away for sunset pictures with my new husband. Every photo that came out was of the highest quality and those moments make me so happy to look back on. She really makes an effort to get to know her clients personally and she does something special/different for everyone depending on their vision and style. I did an engagement shoot and my wedding shoot with her and I still look at those photos almost everyday and my wedding was 5 months ago. I am so thankful that Sam was there for us. She really made our wedding day so special and went above and beyond. She’s also a great communicator and was very efficient with communicating ideas for photos and my vision before the wedding day! My Husband and I have worked with Sam for the past three years now. In that time, she's given us a gift that we'll cherish forever: timeless memories. Sam was the photographer I originally found while searching for a person to take our couple's portraits for our first anniversary. That relationship blossomed from there to Christmas Mini's shoots, Engagement Surprises, and now the most special day of all, our September Wedding. What makes Sam special is the relationships she forms with her couples. A simple business transaction is always an option, but Sam takes the time to really get to know her clients. The energy she therefore brings to shoots makes her so easy to trust for whatever direction you might have for your special day. In her photos you have the chance to see love shine so naturally, in ways that still feel elevated and absolutely stunning. She was available anytime to chat with us about our vision. We created timelines together and very specific goals which ALL came to life on our day in every single way we discussed. We booked Sam for our engagement and wedding photos and let me just say, she is a DREAM to work with. I fell in love with her work when I was shopping for a photographer to invest in for our wedding, and instantly knew she was the one. She's a natural and her talent really shines through her photos! I was in awe when we received our first sneak peeks for our engagement shoot, and knew then that our wedding photos would blow us away.
It was our first time working with a professional photographer, and my husband and I are very camera shy. Despite that, Sam made us feel so comfortable throughout the process and even gave us direction with how to pose which we were so grateful for. It made the whole session so easy and smooth for us.
On our wedding day, she made sure we were taken care of and was on top of schedule. I was so nervous on the day of, but she reassured me that we would get all the shots we needed, and she didn't disappoint! When we got our final gallery, I was speechless. Everything came out so beautiful, and now we have images that we will cherish and look back on when we're old. Sam's photos are like a dream that you don't want to wake up from. Her style is natural, striking, timeless, and classic. I look back on these photos and tear up every time. It's like I am reliving the day again.

I don't even know where to begin. My husband and I have not stopped raving about Sam since our initial consultation. The most consistent wedding advice we received was to hire vendors that we trusted and got along with and Sam went above and beyond our expectations in every capacity. She made us both feel right at home and our engagement session felt like we were relaxing with an old friend (which shows in our photos). She effortlessly captured our engagement session and our wedding, making sure to capture smaller details that we hadn't even thought about until we got the photos back (but we're glad she did). Sam provided us with honest and helpful answers to miscellaneous wedding planning and timeline questions and we believe she's a large part of why our wedding went so smoothly. Sam truly took her time to get to know us and our relationship. She maintained a constant line of communication with us and delivered our sneak peaks and full galleries in what felt like no time. Not only are my husband and I absolutely obsessed with Sam and her work, but our friends and family also constantly bring up how amazing our wedding photos are. Sam Leto is a gift. One of my greatest fears around our wedding day was that we wouldn't feel or look like "ourselves". I had admired Sam's work on instagram and her website, but didn't know if we could ever look as comfortable and natural in front of the camera as these other beautiful couples appeared. From the moment we met Sam for our engagement photos, I understood why her couples look so dang happy. She is the BOMB. My husband and I actually laughed and drank and awkwardly frolicked and danced and did all of the weird things, but somehow Sam captured all of that in photos I cannot wait to hang all over my house. She is funny, cool, relatable, and incredibly talented. I received so many compliments about Sam from my family and friends before they even saw her photos -- she is truly that wonderful. Sam also captured moments from our wedding day in a way that I couldn't have put into words to request, but will treasure forever. She captured the personalities of my most favorite people on our most favorite day, and my husband and I could not be happier! -

Sam will make your day special!
Hiring Sam was one of the best decisions we made in the wedding planning process. We started with an amazing engagement session that captured so many special memories. For the wedding itself, she was amazing at ensuring we felt comfortable throughout the process, which meant that our photos really reflected our personality and the wedding itself. We really appreciated how she stuck to the shot list we provided for family photos and effectively corralled many personalities, which kept us on task prior to the ceremony itself. When the food ran a bit behind, Sam was kind enough to stay a bit later than originally planned to ensure we got plenty of amazing dance floor shots.
Finally, Sam's eye for detail is incredible and we have been consistently wow'ed by the photographs. Her editing skills are very strong, ensuring that each shot has just the right amount of light but the clean, minimalist quality we were looking for. We've gotten so many compliments on them we've lost count!

Hiring Sam was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Her photo style was the perfect blend of elegant and fun that we were looking for and we could not be more thrilled with the experience we had with her. From the start Sam was responsive, interactive, and answered all questions incredible quick and with great detail. We had an engagement session with Sam that we absolutely loved (we're super awkward but she made it fun and we loved how our photos came out). On wedding day Sam was on time, had everything prepped and ready to go, and get things calm as our planned timeline went a bit awry fairly quickly. Sam delivered some wedding sneak peaks almost immediately which we were so appreciative of so we had a few shots to review and live back the day right away. Fantastic!!
Sam is the best of the best! My husband and I really wanted photos that didn‘t feel stiff or forced, and were completely drawn to Sam’s work. Neither of us are very comfortable in front of the camera, but at our engagement shoot Sam gave us great direction and was friendly, warm, and easy to work with. On our wedding day, Sam and her second shooter went above and beyond to capture every moment. They were incredibly flexible, even braving below freezing temps outside multiple times to get the perfect shot. We love all of the pictures she delivered; we are seriously in awe of how well they capture our day, especially our loved one‘s personalities! We will treasure our photos forever! Absolute 100/10 experience!
Sam was such a joy to work with throughout our entire process. I first reached out to her in 2019 for our wedding in 2020, but even after rescheduling once and cancelling our wedding all together due to Covid, she was extremely understanding and just so kind about it all; she even offered to do a bridal session for us! She was responsive and followed up when she said she would, always had great suggestions of potential locations, and even went the extra mile of reaching out to the proper folks to get any and all permits sorted for us to take our photos at the Arboretum. On the day of the session, Sam made us feel relaxed and helped us to enjoy the session, and I think that really shows in the pictures. She also brought her pop-up changing tent for me, which was so thoughtful! She did us a huge favor when she offered the bridal session, and she did this while juggling an extremely busy wedding season; for this I am so grateful because she didn’t have to do any of that, but it’s truly a testament to how much she loves her work and her clients. I’m so lucky to have been able to work with Sam, and thank her so so so much for having been a wonderful, professional, kind, and AMAZING photographer!! -

If you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding who will capture everything you want and more, look no further!!! Seriously. We took so much time into looking for a photography vendor for our wedding and Sam completely surpassed all of our expectations. She is extremely talented, kind, thoughtful, and detail-oriented. We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID and Sam was very flexible to work with. Additionally, we had an engagement photo shoot with Sam and it truly helped us get over our anxiety about having our photos taken. Our final wedding gallery had amazing quality photos including black and white shots, detailed shots, sunset photos, a first look, portraits of my husband and I, family portraits, and many sweet candid moments. Sam even helped me with my dress multiple times since I had no bridesmaids. She is truly an honor to have had photograph our wedding. -

Fantastic photos, lovely person to work with
Sam was an absolute pleasure to work with! A friend passed her name to us when we were looking for a wedding photographer. We checked out her work online and immediately were impressed with her aesthetic -- her photos have a truly lovely and authentic look and feel.
We chatted and hit it off right away. Sam is detail-oriented, making us feel like she was accounting for each of our requests while also thinking about the little things that we hadn’t thought to raise. At the same time, she is relaxed and a constant source of smiles and laughter. She was easy to get along with and a joy to have around on our wedding day!
These are always invaluable characteristics of someone who will be shooting your special event. But they proved especially meaningful to us when COVID-19 forced us to abandon our original May 2020 wedding date and our larger plans for our backup date, and a location change 7 days ahead of the day. Sam was flexible and encouraging throughout.
As much fun as she was to work with, it was the stellar quality of the photos Sam shot that make us so appreciative. She sent us some sneakpeek shots just a few hours after the reception, and soon thereafter sent us the rest. We love the way the photos came out!
In short, we highly recommend working with Sam!

Sam has been an absolute dream to work with! She is so incredibly talented and created the most gorgeous elopement and engagement photos for us. We are having the hardest time choosing which photos to print in an album because we love them all. We have truly been blown away by her work and so have our family and friends. I’ve even had a couple people say our wedding photos are the most gorgeous they’ve seen! AND she got us an awesome selection of sneak peaks within 24hrs of both our elopement and engagement shoot.
Beyond being an amazing photographer, Sam is such a sweet and genuine person, and just a joy to be around. My husband hates few things more than taking photos and we were both totally dreading photo shoots (especially the engagement shoot). But Sam put us both completely at ease and made the process so much fun! Our wedding officiant even thought we had been friends with Sam for years because she’s just that personable. She was also extremely helpful, understanding, and flexible when we were faced with a series of changed plans due to COVID-19. She really is the best!
We are SO glad we decided to work with Sam and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding, elopement, and/or engagement photographer! -

Best decision we made!
Sam was literally the best vendor we could have ever worked with for our wedding. She was responsive, professional and super flexible (especially with all of the COVID changes we had to make).
