Spend 2 years asking for my ceremony videos, lie after lie until Juan finally admitted he lost the videos, and wanted to give me a mediocre compensation. At least have the professionalism to be honest. -

I wish I were able to recommend our wedding photographer, but more than a year after our wedding, I am still deeply affected by what happened.
We hired Juan for our wedding on June 13, 2025, with eight hours of photography coverage and a timeline that had been communicated in advance. He was scheduled to arrive at our chapel at 3:00 PM, with first-look photos beginning at 3:30 PM and our ceremony at 4:00 PM. He texted us that afternoon indicating that he was delayed and later told us he had arrived, but he had gone to the wrong location. He did not arrive at the correct venue until approximately 4:08 PM, after our ceremony was originally supposed to have begun. We delayed the ceremony until 4:15 PM as a result.
Because of this, we completely lost the opportunity to have several planned moments photographed, including my first look with my bridesmaids and my dad seeing me as a bride for the first time.
Unfortunately, we later discovered that the missing coverage extended beyond the period when he was absent. When we received our gallery, there were no photographs of our processional. None. We do not have photographs of our wedding party walking down the aisle. We do not have photographs of my dad walking me down the aisle. We do not have photographs of my husband's reaction as he saw me coming down the aisle.
At first, we hoped these photos had simply been left out of the gallery. We specifically asked about the missing processional photographs and never received a response. To our knowledge, these photographs simply do not exist.
There were other issues as well. Although we paid for eight hours of coverage, Juan was at the correct venue from approximately 4:08 PM until shortly after 11:00 PM. Never said goodbye, just left the building. Many of our reception photographs were also significantly overexposed or washed out. We ultimately requested and received the RAW image files so that we could try to salvage some of the photographs ourselves.
We also purchased videography. The video was not delivered within the originally advertised timeframe, but we did eventually receive it. I want to include that because I think it is important to be fair about what was ultimately provided.
We contacted Juan after the wedding with a detailed explanation of our concerns and requested financial compensation for the missed coverage. We received no financial compensation, and that request was never acknowledged.
But what I don't think can be adequately expressed in a list of missed photographs, timelines, or contractual issues is how much this experience has affected me.
More than a year later, I still have a hard time looking at other people's wedding photos. I often immediately click away because it hurts to see other couples have photographs of the exact moments that are permanently missing from ours. I will never have a photograph of my dad walking me down the aisle at my wedding. I will never have a photograph of my husband's face when he first saw me. Those moments happened once. They cannot be staged again or recreated. I sincerely hope that sharing our experience helps other couples make an informed decision when choosing who they trust to photograph their wedding.
