Salt City Sound Machine was an outstanding DJ for our wedding. Jason came fully equipped and had everything set up quickly and smoothly, and he was more than helpful and accommodating when it came to our song list, making sure every track played exactly on cue, especially the important moments like our vows and first dance. He was the utmost professional from start to finish, and it was great knowing we had a talented DJ who's also local to us. We would absolutely choose Jason again for any big life event that calls for a DJ. Salt City Music is THE BEST!
Since we first met with Jason from the planning to the big day, the whole process working with him went smoothly! He gave as an idea of what our timeline would look like and a packet of song choices/ ideas we could use for our big day. He was always very responsive and got back to you in a reasonable time! He kept the party going the whole night, let you know when he would start, was very good with giving directions on what others should be doing, and took song requests, and valued if you didn’t want certain songs to be played. He brought a speaker during cocktail hour to get the party started early- and he worked so hard from start to finish- he even takes a picture of you to add to his social media! I would recommend Salt City Music for your DJ needs!

I had known the owner prior from his previous DJ employment and I told my fiancé he was my favorite for a reason and Jason would do an excellent job. Needless to say, I was not wrong, and he made our wedding day absolutely unforgetable. Our ceremony was a little unorthodox, and he adapted as the officiant without hesitation. He kept our guests on their feet the entire evening. The only times the floor was open was when we all sat to catch out breath! He was incredibly flexible while also keeping us on track and able to focus on having fun. Then he also surprised us with additional services we had not expected. This was definitely the right the decision for a wedding.Jason did our ceremony and reception and we honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more. From our first meeting until after the wedding. Even though we only needed a DJ for our reception — since our ceremony took place earlier

A killer DJ!
Jason was phenomenal! He was both our officiant and DJ for our Friday the 13th wedding. He was so personable that all of our guests thought that we knew him for years, rather than just chatting with him for a few meetings! He kept the dance floor going all night long and played all of our requests and more! Our guests raved about him and the dance floor for weeks after the wedding! Jason from Salt City Sound Machine made my and my (now) husband's wedding day/night so perfect. He was very professional, considerate, and very conscientious. I especially appreciate that he took time to meet with me and my husband a few times before our wedding in order to construct a timeline of the evening that alotted an appropriate amount of time for all major wedding rituals. Jason was also up for the challenge of djing for his first time on a dinner boat reception cruise and helping us to negotiate challenges of having three floors that wedding guests might be hanging out on. We endearingly referred to him as Captain DJ. Despite this 'new' format, Jason did such a good job of keeping us on time throughout the night, fielding guest questions/protecting my husband and I on wedding night from guest questions, and making sure that the dance floor was lit! We could not have done our wedding without Jason and are very grateful for his help!

Great party with a wedding on the side
He was our officiant as well our DJ. He didn’t let it slide when our rings were presented during the ceremony in a mini coffin. He knows how to work the crowd, keep them engaged and keep things moving. Professional and accommodating. Our planner contacted him about a week before the our wedding to see if he could play an additional hour. He graciously agreed. Very reasonable pricing. No worries if the internet is iffy, crashes or is non existence. He down loads music instead of streaming. He’s amazing. You need to hire him.

Three things people remember at weddings. Food. Drinks. MUSIC and Jason absolutely KILLED it.
As a self proclaimed type A bride, I was very particular about the music choices and specific timing of entrances. Jason was very accommodating and answered my questions the same way every time no matter how many times I asked them and no matter how many different ways they were asked. He was professional, down to earth, and so easy to work with.
My dad wanted to add a special message that played before we walked down the aisle, and Jason put the song underneath his recording and made it just that much more special. Not a dry eye in the house.

Jason is the man! We met him through one of his weekly trivia games, and knew he was the perfect MC! We booked him as our wedding DJ for October 2024. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH AMAZING THINGS ABOUT SCSM AND JASON! He made our wedding day ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE from the start of our planning journey to our whole entire wedding day. Jason is SO personable, knowledgeable in all things tech & music, and VERY organized. Jason is also so kind, i was so confused with the process of having our logo projected on the wall for our venue, jason purchase equipment just for the day, made sure to have the equipment READY TO GO & knew just what to do when I was in a state of confusion. It looked stunning and exactly what I was going for! And then we get to the playlist, oh my gosh it was a RIOT. Jason LISTENS to what the bride and groom want. None of our do not plays were in sight and he crafted the BEST cocktail hr & reception playlist from what we gave him and my guests were on the dancefloor all night long & we got so so many compliments from our guests, they loved it! He reads the room and energy of the night so well. Long story short: you are doing yourself a major disservice if you do not have SCSM at your wedding!!!

There isn’t a thing I would have done differently when it comes to picking Salt City for our DJ. Jason was great with everything from the moment he got there until our last song! Jason’s communication was great from the first day we reached out to helping us with music selections to day of keeping us on schedule. He interacted with our guests and kept the dance floor going all night long. I had numerous guests comment on how Jason was amazing and how we couldn’t have gotten a better DJ if we tried. Jason was great with letting us choose a large selection of music we wanted while still varying up the playlist. Our wedding was the best ever, and a massive part of that goes to Jason from Salt City Sound Machine. I had been searching for a DJ for weeks and was so nervous to book someone I’d never met and had no personal reviews of. But he was highly rated and award-winning, extremely reasonable cost-wise, and overall ended up being an absolutely brilliant choice. One of my biggest concerns was that we had both the ceremony and the reception in the same space, and I didn’t want anyone to get bored. Well, Jason kept us all partying until the last second. Hiring a DJ is tough because let’s be honest, your DJ plays a huge part in the wedding. Jason delivered, went above and beyond our expectations. We had had a pretty large wedding and naturally it gets loud and hectic fast with that many people in one room. He still managed to keep everything on track and on time, he felt the crowd out and played exactly what we and our guests wanted to hear without them having to say it. He is humble, funny, caring and very organized. He also helped my dad and I organize a way so that we could sing a father daughter song which meant the world to both of us. Awesome wedding DJ
We hired Jason for our wedding in August 2022. He was AMAZING to work with from start to finish. Jason is organized, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. He made the process easy by having an informative meeting where we went over the contract, discussed the wedding, and asked/answered questions. We then had another meeting closer to the wedding where we shared specific music choices and scheduling. On the day of the wedding, Jason was ready and prepared hours before the ceremony started. He made a wonderful impression on our families, bridal parties, guests, and the staff at our venue. Jason did exactly what we wanted and more. Exceptional attention to detail
Jason was an amazing DJ for our wedding. Being that my family has Caribbean roots, Jason had a tall order to fill to mix reggae, soca and punta into his playlist. He did an exceptional job. He even went above and beyond and did his own research. Because of Jason's professionalism and care, both of our cultures were incorporated in our wedding and everyone had a blast. My family is still messaging me about how amazing the DJ was, and wondered how he knew what hits to play from our culture.
Beyond the music playlist, Jason did a great job of making our day special. We met a few times to discuss aspects of the wedding. I honestly felt like his attention to detail made him serve partially as a wedding planner as well. Jason was always attentive and professional.
Jason was helpful and organized which helped make our wedding day run smoothly and perfect. His presence and expertise really helped to make our wedding perfect. Thanks so much Jason!

The best disk jockey you’ll ever have!
I can’t say enough about how amazing Jason at Salt City Sound Machine is! He was the funniest and most soulfulness officiant and the most energetic personable disk jockey ever! He truly captured the ears of the entire wedding, got the entire crowd all pumped up, got every foot on the dance floor and even punked our son during the “shots” song and he absolutely LOVED it! Everyone there was laughing, dancing, and celebrating all because of Jason’s awesome personality that he brings with him! I can’t say enough good things about Jason with salt city sound! He made our wedding feel personal and not just another wedding he had to do. To say he went above and beyond is and understatement. Great music, great party, great DJ!
We were absolutely thrilled with how awesome of a DJ/MC Jason was! He had great music for pre-ceremony, he was on cue for everyone walking down the aisle and had an amazing tiny microphone for our ceremony/vows that allowed everyone to hear us (200+ people outside) without holding a mic! He supplied cocktail hour music when needed (we also had live music during this time) and really got the crowd hyped and excited for our intros! He was on point for speech intros and first dances and keep our dance floor PACKED all night with music we both love and we are picky! He felt the crowd for good moments for cake cutting and bouquet toss checking in with us as well, so it flowed nicely. He let my (now husband) sing for the crowd after a guest request and generally all around was SO fun and flexible and wonderful to work with!! If you want a DJ/MC that brings the party, is fun, keeps your guests dancing all night, is not cheesy, genuinely nice and wants you to have a great time do not hesitate to book Jason! From our initial call, to meeting in person, to wedding day he was prompt, helpful and you can tell he is a pro and the best at what he does. Plus he sent us a sweet gift after which was so thoughtful and meaningful to us. Don't let this vendor book your date with someone else, reach out to Jason asap!

We recently hired Jason for our August wedding, and we truly only have GREAT things to say about Jason & his DJ services! From our initial phone call to our sit down meeting prior to the event, Jason made the planning process so easy and was always super quick & responsive with any questions or changes (even my week of changes!). He provided the sound for our ceremony, and was there early and made sure everything was perfect! We provided a small list of song requests for our reception, but every additional song he played we LOVED and the flow of the night was perfectly executed. We 100% recommend Jason with SCSM!

We loved our DJ!
Jason with Salt City Sound Machine was amazing, start to finish. He is an absolute pro and a blast to work with.
He knows what works at weddings and what doesn't and he steered us in the right direction when we met prior to our big day. He listened to our ideas and made them a reality.
He worked wonderfully with our other vendors, which was vital.
A tiny anecdote: my 5 year old nephew got very nervous seconds before we were doing our wedding party announcements at the reception. It was go-time and my nephew was going to be announced with his parents who were also in my wedding party, but he froze at the last second. Jason swooped in and talked my nephew into being his "co-DJ", giving him some noise-cancelling headphones and inviting him to "help" announce the rest of us. He saved the day!

Amazing DJ!!
We had Jason dj at our wedding this past weekend after postponing due to covid. He was super flexible when working with us to find a new date.
Jason is responsive, helpful, funny, and made our day amazing! He helped everything run smoothly by working with our coordinator and made sure we had everything we needed during our day (even carried the long train of my dress for me so I wouldn't get it dirty and he even gave a personal speech/toast for us).

We hired Salt City Sound Machine for our wedding in September 2020. Jason was excellent, provided us with advice and options however respected our final decision. Planning a wedding during a pandemic.. it was a breath of fresh air for Jason to allow us to make our own choices and support them. We appreciated him sitting down with us to go over the entire schedule and was very flexible with us changing our wedding venue. On the day of the wedding, Jason was calm, cool, and collected which was great because weddings can be very stressful! He never looked frazzled and facilitated the schedule, making changes when necessary. We would absolutely recommend Salt City Sound Machine for any event.

Nothing but professional
Unfortunately due to the Coronavirus. Salt City will not be able to be our MC/DJ on the day of our wedding. I was really bummed, because Jason has been so professional. I would highly recommend Jason for his professionalism. The entire time we were planning our wedding Jason would answer all my emails. He was super knowledgeable about songs and had a great planning sheet that really helped us make tough choices. Jason--- I'm sorry we couldn't continue working together, but wanted you to know that we really valued the time you spent helping us plan.

What a Night!
We met with Jason for an initial interview and he was upfront about everything! He’s a good guy that wants to make your day special without overcharging. He didn’t flinch when we had to make some last minute changes and kept the party going with a great set list. He also made sure to give us a heads up when a song we requested was coming up to make sure we got the chance to dance. If I did the whole day again, I’d stick with Salt City Sound Machine without a doubt!!

Jason at SCSM is absolutely wonderful! From our first conversation with him, we knew we made the right choice; he was kind and responsive and anticipated any possible question we could have had. Later, we had a phone call with him about 1 month before the wedding as we live out of the area now, and he helped us prepare the timeline for the wedding evening and reviewed our music selections. He appreciated our musical taste and the vibe we wanted to create to both represent us as a couple as well as entertain our guests all evening. The dance floor was alive from the moment dinner ended ’til the lights went on 3+ hours later, playing a wide range of music for our wide range of guests. He very obviously adhered to our requests (even some pop punk for us!) as well as our do-not-plays, so we never had to worry. He made everyone laugh without trying to steal the show throughout the night, gave my nervous sister (MOH) a pep talk before her speech, and just generally made us feel comfortable and taken care of all evening. Not only did he rock it as our DJ, but he officiated for us as well for a very reasonable additional fee, which saved us the hassle of also finding an officiant. We wanted a short and sweet ceremony, and he delivered exactly that, while simultaneously nailing the ceremony music. Afterward, he took care of tracking down signatures and sending in the license. During and after, our wedding guests gave us so much positive feedback on Jason! He’s so professional, personable, and just all-around excellent at what he does. Cannot recommend him enough! Thank you, Jason!

If SCSM isn't your wedding DJ, you're doing it wrong...
My husband and I could not be more grateful we hired Jason as our wedding DJ. He is AMAZING!!! He isn't any ole' DJ that hits "play" on a playlist and sits back all night- he will engage your guests and make CERTAIN they're enjoying themselves. There is no such thing as a lame wedding with Jason as your DJ. My husband and I received countless compliments about Jason both at the wedding and after- he's THAT good. It's extremely apparent Jason cares about his clients and does everything he can to make their day unforgettable, and he did just that for my husband and I. 1000 times, thank you Jason! August Wedding

We are so happy we chose Salt City Sound Machine to DJ our wedding. We met with Jason twice before the wedding, once to meet and sign the contract and then again one month before the wedding. He really understood what type of music we like and had everyone on the dance floor. He also did the sound and music for our ceremony and cocktail hour, which was perfect. Jason was amazing! Everyone was saying at the end of the night that there feet hurt, because they were dancing so much. Jason is fun DJ too. He will get out on the dance floor and dance with people or have people sing into the microphone. His one of the best DJs I ever seen.

10/10 Would Book Again
Typically, we do not take the time to write reviews, but Jason is our first exception. The amount of energy he brought to our wedding by simply being himself was amazing. He kept every one on the dance floor with ease, and even played a few games to keep things interesting (think spin the bottle, but with dancing). Jason was extremely quick on his feet as well, incorporating a few of our favorite theme songs as our maids of honor and best man spoke of things like our love of The Office or the Philadelphia Eagles; the impromptu Eagles fight song was certainly appreciated. More than that, though, Jason is simply a good time, able to imbue the evening with a sense of jubilance while remaining extremely professional at all times. In short, Jason was a big part in making our night unforgettable, and we have no reservation at all in recommending him.

Salt City Sound Machine Kept Everyone on the Dance Floor
Jason was an absolute pleasure to work with from reaching out and inquiring if he had our date available, to e-mailing back and forth questions, meeting to go over song selections and the actual day of-from ceremony music until the very last song. SCSM was one of the first vendors we booked based on all of his positive reviews. We liked that he had a contract, a list of popular song ideas for specific events such as cake cutting, last dance, etc.
Jason was honest, professional and was punctual with keeping our whole day flowing from ceremony music to first dance and getting the party started after dinner was served.
We described many specific song requests to please our family such as a sing-along song or just inside jokes for the Groomsmen entrance--and he not only made them happen, but timed them perfectly!
We loved the little extra touches like a shout-out on his Facebook of a great shot he took of our ceremony and loved being able to share with our guests how happy we were to have Jason on our team as we tied the knot. He was the perfect DJ for our wedding day!

Where do we begin! Jason is an AMAZING DJ, we booked Jason well in advance and he stayed in contact the whole time leading up to our wedding day. On the day of everything went flawlessly. We gave Jason our requests and he was able to create a mix of music that kept the dance floor full the entire night. My husband and I were referred to Jason through our photographer since we really had no ideas on who to have as our DJ. It was such a pleasant surprise to meet and work with Jason! Our dance floor was full the entire time, and we got so many compliments from friends & family on the music, even from older family members! We even had a dance circle break out— with Jason in the middle!
Jason had us fill out a packet with our request list and do not play list. He stuck to it and would run songs by us if he wasn’t sure if we would approve or not. It made for a very personalized playlist and so much fun.

Jason was an absolute pleasure to work with as our wedding DJ. Great personality, listened to everything we asked, kept us updated with how certain portions of the night were going to go, and kept the party flowing without any hiccups! Couldn't have asked for a better DJ and we wouldn't hesitate to choose him again for any other events! One of the common comment from all our guests was how great Jason was!

Jason was so wonderful and accommodating throughout our entire planning process. He had DJed my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding back in 2017, and we knew from that moment that he would provide the best party we could ask for. He exceeded our expectations!! My fiancé and I were in a unique situation given we were living apart and planning our wedding away from our venue in the Poconos. Not only was Jason willing to travel 2.5 hours for the wedding, he was also kind enough to hop on a video call several weeks out to discuss our song list and finalize any last-minute details.
We have Jason to thank for one of the most standout memories of the entire day: the “Generations Dance” which we had never heard of before. He explained that for this song, all married couples would join the dance floor and one by one peel off until only the couple who had been married the longest remained. This was such a hit with our families that Jason had to play 3+ songs to keep it going! We had almost a dozen couples married 40+ years and the last couple remaining was about to celebrate their 64th anniversary. Everyone applauded and was close to tears. It was such a beautiful moment and a celebration of marriage beyond our own that day. It was an incredible addition to our wedding, and one we have Jason’s creativity and wedding expertise to thank!
Toward the end of the night, our family surprised us by extending our reception an extra hour. Without hesitation, Jason agreed to stay, and thank goodness he did because the party was still ramping up! Jason kept the energy up and the dance floor full the entire night. If you are an engaged couple getting married in Upstate NY or the surrounding area, I highly recommend choosing Salt City Sound Machine! Jason is talented, hard-working, a great guy and a pleasure to work with. Thank you Jason for helping to make our wedding day the best party of our lives!

Jason provided so much more than DJ services to our wedding. He acted as our wedding coordinator, made us a timeline for the entire night and kept us on track, made an alcohol run for us to the store during dinner when we ran out of certain drinks, and even signed our marriage licence for us because our officiant forgot to. Jason got the party started right away and kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. He put out a request board and everyone was very into making requests. He knew how to transition from slow songs to faster songs and knew how to read what songs the crowd wanted to hear. He traveled from Syracuse to Ithaca and even came early to set up. After the wedding, he sent us a CD filled with songs from the special moments of our wedding and personalized the case with pictures from our day. You cannot get a better DJ for your wedding or event!

Jason is by far the best DJ for your wedding. He made everything painful and easy for us on our big day. He asks questions and documents everything very professionally. He even asks questions we didn't know we needed to know. He's very interactive and plays off the vibe of the room perfectly. He does his best to do everything you ask for and perfectly placed our wedding logo on the dance floor for everyone to see. We had a dance battle and Jason came out with a bottle nonchalantly and spun it to see who would have dance. Everyone loved this and we had the waitresses at our venue in on the fun. Jason is by far the best DJ Syracuse has to offer. Thanks for making our night unbelievable awesome!

We cannot thank Jason enough for the amazing job that he did. He made the process so easy from the flexible meeting times to the actual reception where he was able to read the audience and play the perfect mix of music that kept our guests on the dance floor all night. We had such a blast with Jason at our wedding! My partner and I are both very particular about what music we wanted and Jason nailed it. We told him that we didn't want to encourage requests from guests which he stuck to perfectly. When a couple of requests came in that he thought might fit well at the party he very subtly came to find us on the dance floor to make sure we approved. We got a ton of compliments on how much fun the party was! Everyone liked Jason so much that my sister-in-law even hired him for her wedding next summer.

My husband and I can not say enough amazing things about Jason! He was incredibly responsive and accommodating while we were planning our NY wedding from CA. The day of the wedding he was incredibly helpful with keeping everything moving along and keeping us in the loop. He had everyone dancing all night and all of our guests RAVED about him! We loved working with Jason of Salt City Sound Machine. Jason DJ'd my cousin's wedding four years ago and I remember thinking he was a lot of fun. I was able to plan everything through email with him which was great since we live out of state. He was able to accommodate the songs I chose for the ceremony and first dances even though they needed a little bit of editing in order to work. Our dance floor was crazy all night and Jason was hilarious, our guests commented that we had a great DJ! I would definitely recommend SCSM to anyone looking for a DJ in CNY!

I met Jason at a wedding that I was in right after I got engaged and by the end of the night I knew he would be DJing my wedding too! He is the absolute best! He really is client-centered and will do just about anything the client wants. He was extremely flexible and worked with us so well, even when we didn't give him much to go off of. He surprised us too! There was a piece of the night that we hadn't decided on yet and I didn't remember it until the first stupid glass clinked during dinner and forced us to kiss. He jumped right in and came up with a goofy rule all the guests had to follow if they wanted to see us kiss. Problem solved! It was perfect and his prices are beyond reasonable! I would highly recommend him for any function! We love Jason!

Jason went above and beyond to ensure that all guests at my wedding were having a blast. He played songs that appealed to every generation that were not your typical "corny" wedding songs and the dance floor was always packed. Every single person said they had a great time and it was largely due to the great music that was playing. He also strictly adheres to any "Do NOT Play" list that you give him, which was very important to me. He checked in with me multiple times throughout the night to ensure my groom and I were satisfied with his services. He has a great sense of humor and is super easy to work with. He was thoughtful enough to send us a CD with our "most important" songs of the night as a keepsake. He did an incredible job and I would recommend him to anyone. :)

I cannot even begin to put into words how awesome Jason is! He DJed our friend's wedding a few years ago, and at that moment I knew he had to do ours. It was the only wedding I could remember (and I've been to a lot of weddings) having amazing music and almost everyone on the dance floor, and he didn't disappoint with ours! Since day one, he made the process all about us. I have been getting nothing but compliments on how amazing our DJ was at our wedding! He made our night exactly what we wanted it to be, while having fun and interacting with our guests at the same time (I mean, how many people can say their DJ came out on the floor and slayed 'Fat Lip" with them?!). We used Jason for our October wedding and he was stellar. We had a phone meeting about a week prior since we were planning from long distance, and he e-mailed us to confirm everything we had talked about. He gave us an outline of typical reception songs and dances, which was very helpful in planning! We loved his suggestions and used many of them. He gathered everyone for our reception entrances and as dinner was finishing up he asked us when we wanted to start the dancing. He was instrumental in sticking to our timeline. We also had many requests and do not play songs and he accommodated all of it. A friend told me that was the best wedding music she had ever heard and there was not one song she did not like! He knows how to keep the party going and I would highly recommend him. We also (embarrassingly) forgot our payment the night of our wedding and he was so kind to let us drop it off to him the next morning. We felt so bad about it but he was definitely understanding!!!! A+++++!!!

Salt city sound machine reached beyond our hopes for a Dj. He was absolutely amazing. He had people on the dance floor the whole night and never played a song that made people clear the floor because it wasn't a good choice like I've seen at other weddings. He was very flexible even with last minute changes. He was there setting up early and able to help the day go as smooth as possible. He wasn't just there to play music. He was there to make sure we didn't need anything, the day ran smoothly, and help us in any way possible. He us also a very interactive Dj, which made him all the more fun. I don't think I could have asked for a more understanding, helpful, hardworking, thoughtful person to make my wedding come alive!

We hired Salt City to DJ our wedding this May and are very happy with our choice! Jason was flexible with planning and organizing meetings with us since we were planning from out of state. He played a nice variety of old and new songs to get our guests of all ages on the dance floor. He was also good at keeping the momentum up so the dance floor was always active. Our wedding was perfect in so many ways, but one of the best choices we made in the entire process was selecting Jason at Salt City Sound Machine to be the DJ and emcee of our evening.
From our first conversation, I could tell that Jason was someone who was going to be a delight to work with. Every single time we spoke, he was friendly and accommodating, but also helped guide us to a better overall wedding. Jason clearly has the experience to know the appropriate time frames necessary for each beat of the night to work in the most effective manner, and took the time to explain each of those beats to us.
We had a meeting with Jason before the event where we explained to him what we did and did not want our reception to sound like. Fast forward to the day of the event, and he followed our guidelines perfectly. There was not a single song that I thought, "Why is he playing this song?". He heard what we wanted and made the perfect song choices. He had a great sense of what would get the crowd up and moving, and when the key times to throw a slow song in were. I received many compliments on how great the music was.
Finally, Jason is clearly just a fun and nice guy. We had a great time talking to him every time leading up to the wedding, and he was funny and charming to all of our guests. We were initially hesitant about the idea of having a wedding DJ, but Salt City Sound Machine was worth every penny.
