They are the dream team photographers!

I had the honor of working with Ryan multiple times—at a stateside vow ceremony, our destination wedding, and during a sunrise trash the dress session. Ryan ran in the rain with us, helped me climb a ladder in order to sit on a swing, and dodged waves in the ocean for us to make our photo dreams come true! You won’t find a more committed, kind, and thoughtful photographer! He is organized, creative, attentive to details, and has the best second shooter: his wife, Laura. They are a flawless team and were such a joy to work with.

Our photos are absolutely stunning and undoubtedly captured the intimacy and emotion of each event. Ryan is truly gifted in his ability to anticipate sweet moments and capture them so candidly. We are so grateful for our investment and will forever treasure the ability to relive our special days.

Perfect experience for me

I met Ryan and his wife, Laura, at a Bridal Show. I was instantly drawn to them as a team. Not only was their work captivating, but they have wonderful personalities as well and really try to get to know you to capture the best photographic moments of your special day. He also sweetly obliged to all my Pinterest requests, and stole us away from the reception for some romantic moonlight shots. Professional, Fun & Felt Like Family

Ryan and his wife, Laura, were a dream to work with. They fit right into the process on the wedding day. On the day of your wedding you feed off of the energy of the people around you, from getting ready to the grand send off. They have such a loving and professional energy that made me feel at ease. They move like clock work so you don't have to worry one bit. I felt like every moment was genuine and they knew how to capture the night. I also used Ryan for my bridal portraits and I was amazed at his creativity and ability to capture my personality in every photo. A great team that I would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Great Experience

From the moment I reached out to Ryan, he was invested not just in our wedding but our story. The photographer was the most important vendor to me and I spent months searching for the right one. Ryan calmed my nerves about choosing wrong with his quick replies and willingness to work with any situation. He shot my bridals and our wedding and I can’t say enough positive things! Ryan and his wife are experts at stepping up and giving direction when needed but also sitting back and capturing the moment. He worked with the weather for our windy March wedding and got along so well with everyone that was a part of the day. He even lended my husband his tie clip!
Ryan (and Laura) far exceeded my expectations during the wedding planning process and the actual day. We couldn’t have asked for better photographers!

We loved working with Ryan and Laura for our Engagement, Bridal, and Wedding Photos. They made the photoshoot very fun and laidback which we really appreciated. They rally captured all the emotions on the Wedding Day and really helped keep me calm throughout the whole process. We could not be happier with how the pictures came out. I really appreciated how between each of the 3 shoots Ryan would sit down with me and go through the photos so we could identify what I like best to incorporate more of that into the next shoot. Perfect choice for our daughter’s wedding

Ryan made all of us feel very comfortable from our first meeting. He was flexible and excited to provide amazing memories for our daughter’s wedding. Ryan made sure the bridal photos were taken at the right time of day, was creative with the shots, worked well coordinating with all the other vendors at the wedding and reception and made sure to capture all the photos we requested. Additionally, he got amazing candid shots and we never felt like he was in the way. The wedding album is gorgeous and all of the photos are beautiful. Photography was one of our biggest priorities when wedding planning and we interviewed many different professionals before selecting Ryan. We could not have been happier with our choice.

Wonderful Experience!

We worked with Ryan and his wife with our engagement pictures, bridal pictures, and wedding day. They were very friendly and easy to work with! We had bad weather for engagement pictures and bridals and Ryan worked around this to give us wonderful pictures! He also has a photo booth that you can rent for the wedding with a real person taking the pictures....which was a nice touch and a HUGE hit at our wedding. We received a book with all of the pictures from the booth and are able to enjoy the fun way after the wedding was over. It was a great experience and I would recommend him for your wedding!

Everything from capturing my husbands pictures, even though he didn’t have a grooms room, to capturing the best moments of the entire night! I still cherish the engagement photos Ryan captured. We had the true honor of having Ryan and Laura shoot our engagement photos and photograph our destination wedding in San Francisco. We met Ryan and Laura at a local Bridal Show in Dallas where we also reside. After a second meeting to learn more about their services and discuss our wedding, we knew they were the ones to photograph our Engagement and our special day. So much so that we asked them to travel both to Waco, Texas for our Engagement Photos and to San Francisco for the Wedding. We did this not for any other purpose than that these two individuals treated us like family from the start and thus, we knew they would treat all our wedding guests the same. We truly enjoyed them as people. They were flexible with their ability to travel and even made it a point to arrive early and scout out our venue to craft a plan for the wedding rather than just showing up the day-of. My husband and I really just can't say enough about Ryan O'Dowd Photography. If you are looking for true partners and even better PEOPLE, at their core, Ryan and Laura are the ones for you. Our entire wedding party loved working with them and the icing on the cake is the actual photos. We appreciated all the detail that were captured without us even knowing it. Ryan O'Dowd photography was more than a service I hired. They showed professionalism and took the time to get to know us as a couple and a family. He was able to reflect our personalitit's in our portraits. I would stress that they were more than just photographers. They went above and beyond on my big day. His wife became my time manager and kept me focused on getting ready. Turn around time was unexpected in less than a month. WOW !it was so fast. My best advice is to find someone you want to hang out with all day on your wedding day. Ryan and Hannah met us before we made any decisions, spent time getting to know us and made us feel comfortable during our engagement and wedding photos. For those of us who aren't natural models, finding someone you feel comfortable with is key, it will make taking photos much more natural and fun! I would highly recommend working with Ryan O'Dowd Photography. We loved our pictures and received a lot of compliments.

Ryan is an amazing photographer. More than that he is truly a professional and top notch at what he does. I am thankful to have found Ryan for my wedding photos after a horrible experience with my engagement photos with another photographer. My wedding photos came out beautiful, crisp and definitely edited in a professional manner. At my wedding, my guests loved Ryan because he was so personable and fun. When my mother went through the wedding photos, she said, "he didn't miss a thing" and she was right, he captured every moment wonderfully. I absolutely can not say enough about his wedding service. We loved working with Ryan! Not only are his photo’s amazing, but he was great to work with. He is very professional, but also very approachable and down to earth. Ryan took our engagement and wedding photos. He has a convenient questionnaire that we filled out at our convenience with our expectations and shot list. We then had a planning meeting to make sure he understood our wants/needs and nothing would be missed. Ryan was great with all of our guests and has an ability to know what was coming before we did and managed to get every candid picture we could have dreamed of throughout the night. Ryan O'Dowd photographed our wedding anniversary party and vow renewal at The Park City Club in Dallas in July. We asked for him to capture the usual "posed" family photos, and also the candid shots of the before, during and after. Ryan was amazing for noticing the "little moments" that might have gone unnoticed by any other photographer. He definitely has "an eye" for the moments that are special to family and the talent for taking the artistic shots that highlight and raise the "ordinary" (like table settings, guest book, etc.) to the "extraordinary" - to make those shots appear special and memorable. He caught smiles, hugs, laughter and happy tears at just the right time. Ryan definitely captured the best of our anniversary party, and preserved for us the memories and love of family and friends celebrating something so very special. We were very pleased with his competitive pricing, flexibility, and professionalism. My husband noted afterward that he "didn't even notice Ryan was there taking photographs, because he was so discreet and blended into the event so seamlessly." Thanks Ryan! We met with a few photographers at the beginning of the wedding process, and after meeting with Ryan we knew we wanted him to take the shots of our wedding! He was so personable, and wanted to know us as a couple. This was very important to my husband and I. We knew that we wanted to feel comfortable with the photographer on the crazy day, and we really did! His wife came to help, and she was great as well! My husband and I researched through many photographers to find the best of the best photographer for our wedding because capturing all these special moments and memories was the most important part for us. After looking into several photographers and their work, we came upon Ryan O'Dowd at the Plano Bridal Show. We then met with him one evening to go over what we would like for our wedding and he was very professional and just an all around nice guy. Afterwards, we felt so excited because we had felt that we had finally found 'The One' photographer for our wedding! Ryan is an AMAZING photographer! Ryan was one of my favorite parts about my wedding! He is super fun, flexible and so easy to work with. When I met with him for the first time he had several samples for me to look at and answered all of my questions. At the wedding he was everywhere capturing the best moments but he wasn't in the way of anything. We purchased the package with a second shooter and I am so happy because they were both able to capture the most important parts for me! Not only did we have a zillion pictures to choose from, we also got them back super quick! Ryan told me it would take up to 6 weeks so I was counting down the days but we got them back in 3 weeks! And we got all the pictures on a super cute USB. I know its a minor detail but it just shows the time and effort that went into making our day perfect!

Danny and I met Ryan and his wife Laura at the Allen bridal show shortly after our engagement. This wonderful couple are hands down some of the most genuinely kind (and awesome!) people we have ever met, and of all the choices made for our wedding day this was by far the BEST one!! They are the perfect combination of professionalism, quality and well.. they're just down right fun to hang with! Everyone had a blast, no one felt awkward or uncomfortable, and they both helped transition everything seamlessly throughout the day. With all that said I can't even begin to describe what a blessing Ryan and Laura were to us. The photos were above and beyond what we ever expected and the experience was nothing short of amazing. If nothing else look at the other reviews, notice how much time people spent describing how incredible their experiences were and how happy they are with the choice they made. We met Ryan and his wife at a wedding show. We were very impressed with his work and my daughter liked his style and philosophy about wedding pictures. He took their engagement and wedding pics - and was extremely flexible with their choices and our large family. We also used his photo booth (which was practically brand new) and that was a big hit at the reception.

Ryan and his wife, Laura, are wonderful Christian people and photographers! Ryan took our engagement and wedding photos and made us feel comfortable from the beginning. He was flexible when I had to reschedule engagement photos at the last minute and never mentioned it after that. On our wedding day, Laura met with me and my girls to take our "getting ready" photos and Ryan was with the guys. They caught everything - from the details that we loved, to the faces when we each saw each other, to everyone dancing at the reception. We had a photo booth through them and our guests had so much fun dressing up in props and posing for their photo booth pictures. Ryan captured beautiful photos of us in what I wasn't sure was a good photo shoot opportunity. The pictures just blow me away! We cannot wait to use his photography services again in the future!

Ryan and Laura were fantastic from communication before the event, through the whole wedding day and afterwards delivering our photos! They managed to completely capture the atmosphere as the day progressed and it never felt like they were in the way or obstructing anything. The best photographers get all the shots without ever feeling "visible" and that's exactly what Ryan and Laura did for us. My son and daughter-in-love had scheduled an outdoor wedding. Unfortunately we had rain and had to go to plan B. Ryan didn't blink an eye, stayed calm (which helped everyone else) and captured the most beautiful and meaningful pictures. The weather cleared after the wedding so he was able to get special family pics outdoors. Ryan's attention to detail and his ability to take pics when you don't even realize it captured some very special moments. You'll LOVE Ryan!!

Of all the important decisions we got to make for our wedding day, choosing Ryan as our photographer was hands down, the BEST decision we made. Our outdoor wedding was moved indoors last minute due to weather, and not only was Ryan able to completely change his original plan for shooting outdoors with such ease, but he also kept me, my family, and the rest of the wedding party so comfortable with his relaxed attitude. I don't know what we would have done without him! Aside from his overall calm, cool and collected nature, our photos turned out so much better than we could have ever expected. Not only did he make us all look good, capture beautiful and unique backgrounds and every moment and detail of the day (which my new husband and I naturally missed, so thru the photos, we were able to relive our special day and appreciate all the little things we worked so hard for in planning), but he completely captured the candid sentiment and overall magnificent emotion of the day in our faces, as well as our family's and friends'. It was evident that he dedicated a lot of time selecting the photos he chose to share with us, as opposed to overwhelming us with the thousands of pictures he took that day. It has made choosing the pictures for our wedding album and walls so much easier! He's also incredibly patient with kiddos!
I would also like to mention how much fun we had during our engagement photo session. Such a fun and cool guy. So real. And made the awkwardness of having someone in your face taking photos during those affectionate moments, not so awkward.
If anyone is struggling with choosing a photographer, stop! Go with Ryan O'Dowd...I promise he will NOT disappoint but only provide a spectacular experience and set of memories. What a talent he has. And a wonderful family man. THANK YOU, Ryan, for memorializing the best day of our lives the way you did. You do baby photos too, right? ;) Next stop!

Ryan photographed our wedding October 2014, and he was by far the best vendor choice we made. Ryan is an absolute blessing! He has such a heart for what he does and that shines though in his work. Ryan took time to get to know us on an individual basis and went above and beyond to provide. We loved having Ryan as our photographer! He took a ton of beautiful pictures and really captured the feel of the day. He got our pictures to us very quickly after the wedding and they were beautifully presented on a custom flash drive. The only advice I would give is make sure you have a shot list and stick to it. We missed several pictures because we were crunched for time and even though we had a shot list, we flew through it and missed several. Also, make sure you communicate exactly when you want both photographers there and for how long. We loved both Ryan and Laura!

When planning our wedding, my wife and I knew from the second we talked to Ryan he was the right person for us. Ryan remained in contact with us throughout the process, which as everyone knows can be stressful. Ryan, however, made the photography portion the least of our worries with how efficient and friendly he was. When it came to engagement pictures and the wedding itself, Ryan was unobtrusive and managed to capture perfectly candid moments that my wife and I love to look at and will cherish forever. The quality of the photos we received were absolutely stunning. Ryan is awesome! He has such a wonderful eye and really knows how to capture all of the most wonderful moments. Aside from his technical prowess and artistic talent, Ryan is also just a joy to be around- seriously, my friends and family all fell in love with him. Not only as the Mother of the Bride I am also the wife of a seasoned Wedding Photographer who had been told he was to be a Dad on the day of the wedding. Ryan was so great! He was very willing and able to be flexible with our crazy schedules for engagement photos! Ryan captured precious moments on our wedding day that we get to treasure forever. Ryan and his wife are top notch! They have ability to adapt with whatever climate is present to make the best picture happen (large venue, small venue, day, night, classical, rustic). He is very willing to put in the work necessary to make you happy and does it with a smile. We actually had two engagement photo sessions that some other photographers wouldn't have done. I can not stress enough how important the right photographer is to capture your wedding day. These photos will last you a lifetime and become a treasured possession for generations to come!! Ryan O'Dowd was profession, friendly, and easygoing. My bridesmaids helped me find him at a bridal show in Frisco, Tx. Immediately I was amazed by the quality and artisic nature of his work. He has an eye for recognizing and capturing all of those unique details. I know I sound like I'm gushing but just meet with him or visit his website to see for yourself.

Ryan genuinely cares about his clients, their families and their happiness, and his dedication shows. We discussed the wedding details over coffee where he worked with me to put together a package that I could afford. Ryan made himself available for any questions I had along the way, and eased my many concerns.

By the time Jonathan and I arrived to our big day, we felt like we had made a friend. He made it quite easy for us to relax and be ourselves, which allowed Ryan to get the most warm and charming moments. My family can't stop praising my wedding photos even months later. His photos are so beautiful!!! Every page in my wedding album that Ryan designed is filled with love and happiness, and makes me I feel like I'm reliving that day.

Ryan and his wife Laura are the most incredible photographers and everything I could've hoped for. Ryan did our engagement session and my bridal session and took a basic idea and turned it into something absolutely beautiful! He was fun to work with and made me forget that I was taking photos in a heavy dress in the Texas heat.

Our wedding was so perfect and Ryan and Laura captured everything exactly how we wanted! The two of them corralled our huge, Italian families so efficiently and made the family photos go by quickly so that everyone could enjoy cocktail hour and apps.

There are plenty of things that can distinguish an event photographer, like catching the right moment, lighting, picture quality, composition, and turnaround time. I really liked Ryan's composition, depth of field, and use of light. You'll be able to see things like that in his photos he posts online. However, not being a trained photographer myself, I tended to find aesthetic style elements to hit a threshold. Most people's styles looked similar to me. I think to make it in the business you have to be at that level.

What set Ryan and his work apart, to me, were his professional, pleasant manner and the way photography is a means to relationship for him. My wife and I felt valued as people, and found ourselves enjoying every interaction with Ryan as if he were an old friend.

Speaking as a recent consumer in the wedding industry, and it sure is an industry, I developed a sense for when a service provider (baker, event coordinator, etc.) saw me as a commodity. I sometimes felt like I had dollar signs drawn on my forehead. Manipulative sales lingo accompanied fake smiles. I never felt that sense come up with Ryan. He always came off to me as equally passionate about his art and his customers.

We got our photos about 2 weeks or so after the big day. Everything was to our liking. The quality was great, the composition combined traditional shots with innovative ideas of his. His second shooter got great shots as well.

During the wedding day, Ryan was organized and efficient. He was able to corral our family for the group shots, which I'm sure was harder than it looked. We saw him and were assured he was getting the shots we wanted, but he was never too close or invasive.

I don't know what else we could have wanted in a photographer. Picking Ryan O'Dowd for our wedding photographer was one of the best planning decisions we made.

Ryan O'Dowd is the best photographer I have ever worked with. My husband and I live in Austin, but were getting married in Dallas, so we only had very specific dates we could work with. Ryan was able to adjust to our schedule and was very flexible with us. Ryan does a package that includes engagement photos, bridal portraits, and wedding photos. Before, we started our engagement photos, Ryan met us at Starbucks so he could get to know us and our personalities. Ryan is a very easy going guy and he is very passionate about what he does, so it was very easy to get to know him as well. Ryan knows many locations in Dallas and was able to suggest locations that fit the "vibe" we wanted for engagement photos. Ryan's photography style is more candid rather than posed so his photos really capture feelings and the moments. On the day of my bridal portrait session, it was 20 degrees and rainy. We had picked a beautiful outdoor location, that was no longer going to work. Ryan was able to locate a gorgeous indoor location for us to use that same morning that still fit the theme I wanted. At our wedding, Ryan felt more like a long time friend and guest, rather than a vendor. He captured every moment at our wedding, and we didn't feel like we missed out on any photos or moments. Ryan is the best and my husband and I highly recommend him!

I chose Ryan O'Dowd Photography for the LIFE he captured in his photos. It's not my Momma's average church pictures. His ability to capture action shots is amazing. My favourite image is my husband and I on the back of a golf cart! There was no way Ryan or his team could plan for it. They were keeping their focus on identifying greatness! Ryan is very flexible and easy to work with! He didn't just want it his way. Any poses you know you want ahead of time let him know. He won't forget. After submission to Mississippi Magazine, his photos were chosen for a multi-page spread in the January wedding issue. Ryan is such a pleasure to work with. From engagement pictures, bridal pictures to our wedding day pictures...Ryan and his wife, Laura, do an absolute AMAZING, SUPURB, PHENOMENAL job. Every single one of my pictures are amazing. Ryan was the right guy for the job. Made us feel comfortable with taking pictures. A photographer that is all about getting to know you. Takes you out for lunch just to do so. I would recommend him to anyone.

I was referred to Ryan O'Dowd Photography through my venues vendor list and am very thankful! This husband/wife duo was so great to work with! They made sure all the shots I wanted captured were on their list and even had some great ideas of their own! They were flexible with my needs and were very thoughtful of us. The photos were sent back to us
INCREDIBLY fast, I think it was 3 weeks! It was a pleasure having them on my wedding team and I would definitely recommend them to friends and family! I might even use them for our future family pictures!! The O'Dowd family is a true blessing!

When we were looking for a photographer for our wedding we were so nervous. To trust someone with such a.l big part of the day can be nerve raking. The moment we met Ryan he was totally different than the others we had met. He instantly put us at ease, answered all our questions, and did not make us feel like he was in a rush. His quality of work is exquisite. He has a great eye and will listen to everything and anything you ask him. He was so thoughtful in everything that he did. Our wedding would not have been nearly as fantastic had it not been for Ryan. He is amazing at what he does!!

Of all the vendors, the hustle and bustle, the details, phone calls, meetings, and people to talk to while planning our wedding, Ryan was - hands down - the BEST part of all of it! From the very second we met him, we felt at ease. He was warm, listened to us, really heard what we wanted and what our budget was and gave us just what we wanted-exactly how we wanted it. He was fast to respond to questions, went out of his way to make himself available, and even took the time to get to know us as a couple so we could be bonded, in a way, before the big day. And true to form, on the wedding day, Ryan's face was one of the faces I wanted to see most! He was non-invasive, and entirely professional. Most of my guests said they barely even knew he was there--even though the pictures clearly showed, he was everywhere! Taking the best shots..shots I never even knew he was taking. Shots that will forever live in my heart. I could not recommend him enough!!! Ryan O'Dowd made everything memorable, from my bridal portrait session on a VERY windy day, to the morning of where he captured moments that I will always remember, to the second the love of my life became my husband. And the reception??? He found the fun and laughter in his lens and I can re-live the magic of that night forever and ever. Trust me, if you choose Ryan, you'll feel the same way. He's the GREATEST!!!

Ryan and Laura are absolutely a joy to work with! We used Ryan for our engagements, my bridals, and our ceremony/reception. All of our photos are absolutely stunning. I love them all! Not only were the photos beautiful, I received them 2 weeks after my wedding.

Not only is Ryan an amazing photographer, he listens to what his clients want. My husband and I did not want to have a first look. It was a personal choice that we decided as a couple. Ryan never questioned that decision and supported what we wanted 100%.

I will definitely be using him again in the future!!!

We really enjoyed working with Ryan and Laura. They got some great shots and were fun and reliable. We had a slight mis communication with an extra body being there to man the photo booth that we had constructed for our guest. We didn't get too many shots of our friends and guests having fun. But we did get all kinds of shots of the both of us getting dressed and throughout the evening. As well as our bridal party shots and family photos. Many options to choose from on all those! We loved the quality of work and their personalities and patience.

I ordered extra pictures of my son' and daughter-in-law's wedding, separate from what the bride and groom had ordered. The pictures were beautiful, and innovative. I was very pleased.

I absolutely loved working with Ryan and his wife! They did an amazing job and after seeing our engagement photos and my bridal portraits, I can't wait to see the actual wedding photos! I would recommend Ryan to anyone and everyone that asks. He's kind, professional, and willing to put up with the most annoying of families (I would know). He answered all of my questions and was super flexible with my schedule! Great company, great family, I would definitely consider using him for your wedding!

Can't say enough great things about Ryan! Finding a great photographer that was also in budget was very difficult, but Ryan was great and worked with us to figure out what we wanted. Him and his wife make an excellent team and was with us every step of the way during our wedding day!

Working with Ryan on our engagement and wedding photos was a pleasure. He conducts himself professionally and doesn't leave any stone unturned so you have the reassurance of knowing that everything is being taken care of appropriately. It was nice to have someone like Ryan take care of this responsibility for us so that it was one less thing for us to worry about on our big day. Ryan and his wife were great on the day of the wedding; very patient and organized, making sure to get everyone situated for photos and making sure that all the special moments are caught on film is a big responsibility but it was all in good hands. Ryan came prepared with multiple cameras, batteries, and memory cards to ensure that he was ready to take pictures at all times. This as well as the fact that Ryan makes sure to backup all of your data using multiple methods is a comfort and appreciated greatly. Also, last but certainly not least, the pictures were great. Thanks to Ryan and his wife we will always have these photos to remember our special day by.
