Tranquil and beautiful

As a professional wedding officiant (Officiant Amber), I have officiated at dozens of locations, and the Rustic Oaks is one of the most beautiful I've seen. Shanelle is absolutely wonderful to work with, and the staff does a great job!

The atmosphere is so tranquil and relaxing, and the fireplaces add the perfect touch to the romantic atmosphere.

I'd highly recommend Rustic Oaks!

Beautiful wedding!

Shanelle at Rustic Oaks was absolutely wonderful to work with! Planning a wedding during a pandemic was very stressful but Shanelle helped take away a lot of that stress. Because of the MN regulations we were only allowed to have the ceremony, Rustic oaks was very understanding through all of it!

The venue is beautiful inside and out! I love all of our engagement and wedding pictures we took there!

We LOVED Rustic Oaks

We got married in October and we absolutely loved Rustic Oaks. Shanelle was amazing during the wedding planning process. She helped with all the small and big details. We had to do minimal decorating because the venue itself is gorgeous. The staff the day of our wedding was so flexible and accommodating. We rented the Dromsted Inn the night of our wedding for our wedding party and it was THE best. They were able to continue the fun even after the wedding was over! We will continue to recommend Rustic Oaks to all our newly engaged friends.

Absolutely amazing!

Rustic Oaks is such a beautiful venue. The staff are so helpful and awesome to work with. We were originally set for a July wedding but Covid changed our plans and we postponed to September. Shanelle was absolutely awesome and took care of contacting our vendors to see if our new date worked. She is so sweet, easy to work with, and dealt with our chaos with grace. We got so many compliments from our guests of how beautiful the venue is and everyone loved it. We are thankful to have been able to have our big day at Rustic Oaks!

Rustic Oaks wedding

My family and guests had a wonderful two days of wedding festivities at Rustic Oaks on Sept. 17-18. The venue is beautiful and spacious. Shanelle and her husband take great care of the Dromstead, barn and outdoor space. Our ceremony location, SE of the barn, facing the beautiful field, was gorgeous for our background. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend!

Best day ever!!!

Rustic oaks was super accommodating when we needed to change our date due to Covid. They did everything for us to make sure the vendors could all make it to our new date!

Our day was beyond perfect. Rustic oaks feels like home. The environment is so warm, welcoming, and cozy. It’s perfect in any season!

Beautiful Venue!

We absolutely loved having our wedding reception at Rustic Oaks! Shanelle was such a gem to work with and it was so relaxed! Being able to rent out the Dromsted Inn and get ready in the Homestead was amazing and so unbelievably convenient. Such beautiful and unique houses! I am ITCHING to get our wedding photos back so we can relive our day on this breath-taking property.

Beautiful rustic barn

I grew up going to rustic oaks for church retreats and now I am so excited to marry my fiance there. They have been so helpful and the venue is beautiful! This just remodeled in 2019 and it is even my gorgeous.

Love, love, love!

We are so happy with our choice to have our wedding at Rustic Oaks. We chose the weekend package and our entire wedding party got to stay in the house right next to the barn. Everyone at Rustic Oaks was so kind and helpful in our planning process and during our wedding weekend. They helped us brainstorm decor and unity ceremony ideas, which was incredibly appreciated. I cannot express enough how wonderful they were to work with.

The team at Rustic Oaks worked with us to make sure we had exactly what we needed for our wedding day and we couldn't have been more grateful! Everything was clean and ready for us. The team made sure we got everything we needed to set up and decorate the reception space, they took care of making sure we could get the specialty keg we wanted, and were overall great people to share our day with.

We absolutely loved Rustic Oaks for our wedding! We came because of the beautiful images online but stayed for the wonderful staff we worked with. Any time we had questions, all we had to do was contact them and they were more than happy to help and get back to us quickly. We did our initial tour and then were also able to do another when one of our moms wanted to see everything and get her own questions answered. We did the mini weekend with the groom's supper, wedding, and reception all on the grounds. It was super easy to have everything in one place. It was also very convenient to have the bed and breakfast right on sight. It served as a hangout/staging area as well as a place for out of town guests to stay. We also used the grounds to take many of our engagement photos and they turned out beautifully. We had no worries on the day of our wedding because we knew everything was in good hands and we couldn't have asked for anything better. We can't say enough about how great Rustic Oaks was in making our wedding a very special event!

Not only is Rustic Oaks an absolutely gorgeous venue during EVERY season, but the staff if so kind and loving! They work extremely hard to make your day the best and most memorable day of your life. I was not stressed or worried for one second on that big day because I knew that they had everything covered and would help me with whatever I needed!

We absolutely loved using Rustic Oaks for our wedding venue! The staff was extremely helpful and attentive and the scenery is beautiful. We also stayed at the inn and it was perfect for opening gifts the next day with family. Thank you to the Rustic Oaks team for making our big day so amazing and special.

My husband and I loved loved loved Rustic Oaks. They were so accommodating! When we originally toured the grounds Anne gave us the tour personally. She was so friendly and willing to answer any questions as bizarre as they were. Emily was amazing with giving us ideas and making our dreams a reality. She dealt with all of the emails and in a super timely manner. We booked the mini weekend with them and had the grooms dinner and the wedding and reception out there. They always had everything set up. The day of the wedding Dave was outside mowing the lawn and they sprayed for mosquitos the day of. Neil was out there setting up chairs as well. We added last minute tables and linens the day of the wedding and Caitlin was amazing with that. Neil was an amazing bartender and he is great with people. I literally have nothing bad to say about this wedding venue except we will recommend it to anyone who wants to get married! On a side note my husbands parents drove by one day just to look at the venue to see what it looked like before the wedding and Dave was outside and proceeded to give them a tour of the entire property! That is just the amazing people you are going to work with there!

Rustic Oaks was so accommodating since the day we booked the venue. From consultations to great suggestions on other vendors (catering, floral, etc.), we couldnt' have asked for more. They also did a great job re-setting up our ceremony venue indoors when a storm rolled in 10 minutes before we were supposed to start. Couldn't recommend more!

Rustic Oaks is a gorgeous venue resting on the river. The historic homes and beautiful barn create such a warm and everlasting experience. Margo and I often reflect on how calm and smooth our whole wedding day went due to the experience at Rustic Oaks. All it will take is a conversation with Emily, Anne, Dave or Neil and a small tour and you will feel like part of the family and your search will be over. We got engaged and a couple days later I found this venue. I contacted them and they were SOOOO helpful in any questions that i had. We visited it and we fell in love with this place and the people who work there. They answered any question we had, told me countless amounts of times to call if we needed anything, wanted to be involved in the planning experience and gave us many ideas for what to do for our big day which was seriously so helpful! From the time we arrived on Friday until we left on Sunday, we had nothing but support from all of the staff and they were all so willing to do anything that we needed them too! I can not explain how wonderfully perfect this place was to us and how it fulfilled all of my greatest expectations! We got both houses for the weekend and it was convenient to have them for our family after they could barely walk due to the free beer at the reception ;) Another awesome thing was that we were able to do our engagement photos out there as well so it is super cool to look at those as well as have our wedding ones out there too! The scenery, the barn, the houses, and staff was all absolute perfection and if anyone wants this venue, book it now because they are a busy place but let me tell you they are more than worth it and you just can't beat having the place of your dreams for the day of your dreams! I LOVE this place and am so thrilled we were able to have this place!

From the beginning of our engagement to the morning after our wedding the staff at Rustic Oaks did nothing but amaze us. Emily and Anne are so great and know their stuff!! I can't even begin to describe how beautiful our day was just simply because it is so perfect there. You don't need much for decor because there is natural beauty all around! Our guests are still asking how we found Rustic Oaks! The staff was so helpful for set up and during our reception and just all around there when we needed them! Thank you so much Rustic Oaks, it was the day I had always dreamed of.

My now hubby and I really enjoyed every bit of rustic oaks. The staff is amazing, the venue it self is beautiful and there is a ton of space for everyone to enjoy the wedding. We utilized the grass area and fire pit along with the dance floor and made space for a photo booth. There are endless possibilities at this venue. The staff also is very attentive. We were able to meet with them numerous times and they are very quick to respond through email/phone. I tell everyone I know who is getting married in the area to check out rustic oaks!

Words truly cannot express our gratitude to Rustic Oaks for all of the hard work that went in to making our wedding day such a magical & happy day! From the moment I saw Rustic Oaks I knew it was where I wanted to be married. Meeting the owners & wonderful staff only confirmed that it was the perfect fit for my husband & I. They are the definition of a dream team! All of our guests commented on how it was the perfect venue and the perfect staff! We could not have agreed more! The entire weekend was filled with so much love, joy, & memories we will never forget. And to be surrounded by our closest friends and family in such a beautiful & peaceful setting was so perfect. Rustic Oaks is amazing! Everyone so helpful, they make sure that you have the most wonderful experience, when you need something they are there to answer questions and help with anything! Purely Amazing!! Rustic Oaks is exactly what I wanted for my rustic/country wedding. I booked my wedding weekend package soley off of pictures from the website and reviews. I was definitely not disappointed when I got to go there for my first tour! The staff there is so easy to work with; they help you plan everything so your day goes as smoothly as possible. The bed and breakfast set up is also so convenient for the wedding party and family to stay right there on site. You will not be disappointed with this venue! Worth every penny!!

Worth every penny spent. Not only is it one of the most beautiful places to have a wedding at their staff was amazing! Making sure we had everything needed. The venue it self isn't your typical venue. It allows you to create spaces for your needs and wants for the venue as it allows you to customize the spaces. I can't express how mach it was to have my wedding here, but I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a great place for any kind of event.

I absolutely loved having my wedding at Rustic Oaks. From the very beginning of planning, the staff continued to go above and beyond to make sure that our day was special. They were always available to answer my questions and made me feel heard and important. They were instrumental in helping my wedding day to run smoothly. We had a few hiccups, but Anne and Emily quickly helped to keep things on track. I highly recommend Rustic Oaks to any couple looking for a breathtaking and well-run venue.

Rustic Oaks is so incredibly great at everything they do. They provide a stunning venue for weddings and other events. We rented the venue for the whole weekend. This allowed us to have our Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony, Reception, and Gift opening for the day after the wedding. They also have an option to rent out two HUGE farm houses for housing guests. This was fabulous for us because almost all of our wedding party was from out of state. This way our bridesmaids and groomsmen did not have the added expense of a hotel, and we didn't worry about anyone being late for pictures! This was also great because they didn't have to worry about driving after the reception. For the rest of the wedding guests, Rustic Oaks did provide a list of taxi and shuttle services that would bring them back into town.
The customer service at this venue is phenomenal. They are so quick to get back to an email or phone call. I never stressed out about any aspect of the venue during my planning process. They really make you feel like family. I would highly recommend Rustic Oaks to any bride wanting a beautiful rustic wedding.

Where do I start?!
The venue: so beautiful! The property is huge with endless options of what is happening where! There is so much natural beauty, the need for personal decorations is very minimum. There are so many great areas for pictures.
The staff: phenomenal! Emily is always so cheerful with the biggest smile! Very prompt with returning calls and emails. Anne and Dave are great, they act as if their home is your home! The rest of the staff were all great!

I can not say enough great things about Rustic Oaks! If I had to do it all again, I wouldn't change a thing! :)

Everything was great for our wedding! The only thing that bothered me from day one was the Facebook page. Everyday I see updates of people who booked wedding dates and well wishes for the couples wedding day.. Everyone except us it seems. I was sad nothing was even mentioned of our special day! Not that Facebook is a big deal but I felt excluded and not as special as the other couples. If your are going to do it for some, you should do it for all.

The family at Rustic Oaks was amazing! It was a beautiful venue inside and out and the perfect place to have out wedding reception. Anne, Dave, Emily and Neil were so helpful and helped to make our wedding day very special and go perfectly.

This is the best venue for weddings in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Rustic Oaks was so easy to work with and thought about all the details that I would have overlooked. The Wedding Weekend package was perfect for what my husband and I dreamed our wedding to be, family and friends surrounding us to celebrate. We rented out both the houses and had a party for 2 days. The staff out at Rustic Oaks was always there if we needed them but not over bearing on our event. David and Ann dream for Rustic Oaks made our wedding a dream come true. Thank you to Rustic Oaks, Emily, David, Ann and Neil for the amazing party!

We honestly cannot say enough about this venue and the wonderful people who run it. The venue itself is beautiful and charming. We had SO many compliments at our wedding. Our guests enjoyed the unique, beautiful, and relaxed atmosphere as much as we did! To be honest, I had never imagined my wedding a venue such as Rustic Oaks. I'm more of "traditional" church type girl...but after meeting with the owners and Emily and seeing how beautiful the venue was, it was no question this was meant to be the place where we would say our "I Do's!"

Rustic Oaks is a truly authentic, one-of-a-kind and beautiful venue. The natural landscape is stunning, and we were so glad that the space allows for a reliable Plan B in case of bad weather. Also, the flexibility regarding vendors meant that we could customize our Rustic Oaks wedding to make it our own.

One of the best things about Rustic Oaks is that the owners and manager are absolutely wonderful to work with. No detail is too small and no question is too random - they are consistently on-the-ball and attentive. From our first venue tour to the last song at our wedding reception, they were always committed to making our wedding perfect!

With the thought of eloping in the backs of our minds while venue hunting we came across Rustic Oaks. From that moment on that thought never crossed our minds again. From the tranquility of the natural surroundings of Rustic Oaks, to the most amazing staff you could ask for, we had found our ideal venue.

From late night emails to Emily with questions about random things, I was always pleasantly surprised to see how quickly she responded with just the right information (sometimes within the hour, she's that good!), to feeling like family members were in charge of our wedding venue because of Dave and Anne's kind hearts, warm hospitality, and easy going personalities. We could not have asked for more.

Overall our experience was more than perfect. Our day went just as we had pictured, if not beyond that. The birds chirping, river flowing in the background, and blue skies as far as one can see helped make our special day relaxing and amazing!

Thank you Rustic Oaks for everything! Words cannot express our gratitude!

Let me start by saying a limit of 200 characters is not enough to tell you about how wonderful Rustic Oaks is! From our initial point of contact through after our wedding, we have been so impressed by the attention to detail, willingness to help, and sincere nature that Lars and Anne (owners) and Emily (coordinator) exhibit. They truly want to go above and beyond to make your day as perfect as possible. Their passion for doing this shines through the minute you step onto the grounds. The lawn is beautiful manicured with flowers and greens and they are continuously improving, not that they needed to because it was fabulous to begin with. Not only do they offer a beautiful location, but they open their gorgeous home to you to use to get ready the day of the wedding, and it’s also available to rent to stay overnight. Lars, Anne, Emily, and all of the other staff treated us like family instead of like customers. A major flood was scheduled to crest right around the time of our wedding! We knew the Red River ran right behind the property and we began to panic, thinking that we’d have to somehow find another wedding venue. Little did we know they had already coordinated with a local theater to be “plan B” and arranged to take us on a tour! They also designed postcards and had them printed and stamped to alert our guests of a possible change of plans. We were able to have our special day at their extra special venue and the ground was dry – hooray! We are so thankful that we found the most beautiful wedding venue with the most wonderful owners and employees! They truly put their hearts into their work and it’s vividly reflected in everything that they do.

We had everything at Rustic Oaks, rehearsal, grooms dinner, ceremony, reception and gift opening! We loved the atmosphere and the staff! They were so helpful and understanding with everything that we did and with anything that came up. We got so many compliments from our guests about the venue! AMAZING!! We had our wedding back in August 2012 and it was everything we dreamed of. I had booked Rustic Oaks without looking at. I knew after looking at the website and seeing the gorgeous pictures and buildings we had to have our wedding there. We were so welcomed by Anne, Dave, and Emily when we went out to visit. Anne and Dave are generous people, allowing couples and their families to enjoy their amazing house and farm. We loved that they stayed at the venue in the back just in case we needed them. It was raining and storming on the night of our rehearsal, but we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Anne and Dave made sure to keep track of the weather to keep us and our guest safe and dry. I was stressed that night worried if it would rain the next day on our wedding. Anne came up to me and explained rain or shine the wedding will be amazing. The day of our wedding came and was gorgeous. Everything was PERFECT. There was nothing to stress about because everything had already been done by Anne, Dave, Emily, and Alicia Weigel. I don't even know where to begin. From the moment I drove out to Rustic Oaks, I knew with everything in me, that this was the place I wanted to marry my best friend. All I have heard since our wedding was how beautiful and perfect everything was. It was better than anything I could have imagined. It was truely the best day of our lives and we are so happy we were able to share it with our friends and family. The minute we stepped out of our vehicles to tour Rustic Oaks, Adam and I knew that this was the place we were going to become husband and wife. It is a picture perfect venue to host an outdoor, rustic, intimate wedding. Pictures don't even do it justice! We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing day while getting ready in the Inn. The upstairs bridal suite was more than spacious for all the ladies to lounge in for the day. The guys definitely enjoyed their time downstairs in the "man cave" watching TV and shooting pool. Our ceremony was set in the backyard, surrounded by trees and looking out over a serene pond. It was exactly how we wanted to start our married life together. Every one of our wedding guests were entertained during the reception, whether dancing in the barn's loft, relaxing on the barn deck, hanging out by the campfire, playing yard games, taking a stroll down to the river, or just taking in the beautiful scenery everywhere you looked. Last, but not least, Rustic Oaks' owners were more like our family on our wedding day. They were beyond helpful and made every second of our day worry-free. We couldn't have asked for a better experience from the first day of planning to the second we drove away as husband and wife. Thank you Rustic Oaks for making our wedding day everything we imagined and more.

I can't say enough about our entire day. Rustic Oaks was ABSOLUTELY amazing. As we worked through the wedding planning process, I wondered when I'd find out that the staff and the set up at Rustic Oaks was "too good to be true"... I never hit that point. They were really just that good. All around, Rustic Oaks is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! With a wonderful "bad weather back-up plan" and bubbly staff to assist with every other need, I HIGHLY recommend Rustic Oaks. I could not have imagined anything better!

Rustic Oaks was the perfect place for our wedding and the owners and staff made everything so perfect! The space on the property is so beautiful and provided the perfect back drop for our wedding day! Leading up to the wedding, Emily was so responsive and right on the ball with answers to our questions. They were so professional and had an answer for every question we could come up with! Using the house to get ready on our wedding day was so great and it made the day go seamlessly to have everyone at the venue. The ceremony space is so lovely, the reception is picturesque and the barn loft for the dance was amazing! We have gotten so many compliments on Rustic Oaks and many have said it is the most beautiful space for a wedding they have ever seen! Thank you so much to all the staff at Rustic Oaks for making our wedding everything we wanted and more. You all exceeded our expectations in every aspect!

Rustic Oaks provided the perfect scenery for the kind of green, vintage inspired rustic wedding my husband and I dreamt of. There is a large yard (where we chose to have our ceremony), a beautiful house (where the entire wedding party stayed), and a large barn (where we had our reception). There is so much to do - a play set for the little ones, a fire pit where we had an impromptu sing along, and wide open space to go for a walk. Despite the anxiety that can accompany a wedding, it was impossible to be nervous at Rustic Oaks. The owners and Emily are such lovely, helpful people. They work tirelessly to make sure that all the bases are covered and that the couple has nothing to worry about. They made our dream wedding a reality.

We didn't have our wedding here, but we did our Rock The Dress/Newlywed photo shoot here! It is incredibly gorgeous! Our pictures look great, and I wish I would have known about this beautiful place before our wedding! :) I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet place to have a rustic wedding! The owner was very nice and didn't mind at all that we took our pictures there!

We LOVE Rustic Oaks!! I can't imagine a more perfect place to get married. We had looked for somewhere that was slightly off the beaten path and felt like "home" ~ somewhere that would bring to people's mind the way weddings used to be - at home, without all this wedding industry craziness and hoopla... and when we found Rustic Oaks, we knew that it was the perfect place to spend our wedding day with our family and friends. After contacting several local venues, I was used to waiting around several days for an email or phone call, but with Emily and the Rustic Oaks staff, I always heard back right away, sometimes within hours! The staff feels like family ~ even going over our wedding contract in their beautiful farmhouse kitchen. :) The facility is absolutely gorgeous ~ especially the renovated barn and the view of the beautiful Red River of the North. We loved getting ready in the farmhouse and having the whole place to ourselves for the day. We had SO many family and friends gush over our wedding venue and my favorite was: "this wedding changed what I thought my dream wedding was"... not because of our decorations or my dress or our cake or anything else, but because RUSTIC OAKS created a setting that made for amazing memories. We look forward to renting out Rustic Oaks in the future for anniversary BBQs, and who knows, maybe even family pictures once we start having babies!! :) LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

I got married at Rustic Oaks in June and it turned out absolutely wonderful! I couldn't have asked for more!! The owners and wedding coordinator are so easy to work with. They are probably the nicest people I have met. They were all full of ideas and reccomendations. They gave us a list of all kinds of vendors, which was very helpful. They did all the set up and take down of tables and chairs. They have linens you can use for the tables. The place pretty much sells itself. It is so beautiful and easy to find. The barn is beautifully redone and over looks the river. Attached to the barn is a huge deck, that does have a tent over top. A really neat option that we did for (stealing of the bride and groom) was pontoon rides up and down the river. That was a lot of fun. You can also rent the pontoons by the hour and have them going through out the night and take guests out for short rides. They also have nice handicap accessable bathrooms right next to the barn. You really get your money's worth and alot of wonderful memeories made! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, if you want a nice/fun outdoor wedding!!

Beautiful venue! Had both the ceremony and reception out here. The staff is so helpful and always there to assist help if needed throughout the entire process. The place is jsut gorgeous! Nothing but good things to say. Just a wonderful experience, highly encourage others to check it out!

Absolutely fabulous site! A beautiful rural property on the river that has been recently renovated to be an event center--perfect if you are envisioning a day out in nature! The owners and event coordinator are wonderful--truly passionate about what they do. My favorite part? The fire pit--we had s'mores at my wedding!

I can't express how happy we are that we chose to have our wedding at Rustic Oaks! From the minute we took our tour to the day of our wedding, Rustic Oaks staff was so easy to work with. They always got back to us right away when we had any questions and were so helpful during the planning process. Emily is amazing!! She is so organized and on top of everything! We decided to book the mini weekend and have our grooms supper and wedding at the venue and everything was perfect!! The day of our wedding it was raining and Neil and Anne made sure the ceremony decor was moved and ready. We received so many compliments on how awesome and friendly our bartender Neil is. Our guests were very impressed with the staff and the beauty of the venue. My husband remembers looking out the window and seeing Neil setting up chairs in pouring rain!! They are so dedicated in making sure your day is perfect for you. Book with Rustic Oaks you will not be disappointed!!!

Absolutely awesome place to have a wedding!!!! Everything from a Friday grooms dinner to a Saturday wedding/reception/dance to a Sunday AM opening gifts can be done at the same place. The house is beautiful. The flowers/scenery are awesome. They set everything up and are there for you when needed ... but then give you your privacy when that is needed. I would recommend Rustic Oak highly.

What an AWESOME place to have a wedding, it suited us perfectly! Be sure to go the extra mile with your decorations, it makes the venue pop! Also, Rustic Oaks has a great sound system so don't limit yourself to only using a DJ, we created our own playlist, brought a few speakers and a disco ball, and we had the dance of a lifetime! Not only was the venue great, but the people, the atmosphere, and the overall joy of the day was outstanding! Photo ops EVERYWHERE!

Beautiful venue, great staff. Wish that certain thing would have been provided with the cost or at least not so expensive a la carte. But overall they were awesome. Great place to have an outdoor wedding !

My husband and I spent months searching for a venue. Everything was just a little bit off. Everything, that is, until we toured Rustic Oaks. You know how people say things like, "it'll feel right?" We felt immediately at ease on the grounds. It was apparent the staff cares about the couple's opinions and does very little to get in their way. Quite the opposite in fact; they were excited about our ideas and helped us to run with them to create an event that reflected us.

There were two factors of particular importance to us: to save money and time on food and decorations. They let us bring in our own wood fire pizza oven and liquor, which is a tremendously budget friendly option. Minimalism ruled the decor. That was possible because of the natural beauty of the grounds and the tasteful restoration of the buildings.

The staff is charming and efficient and works hard to make the couple feel relaxed and ready to experience a day of meaning and beauty.
