Loved it, no notes!
Working with Gracyn, Julie, and the team at Rule of Thirds for our wedding was a pleasure and a breeze from start to finish! It was the first and only venue that we looked at, and we fell in love with the space/vibe and the food.
We used their recommended vendors list to secure our planner (shout out to the amazing Anita Pandian at Morton Street Events) who has a ton of experience working at the venue, and she helped us find all of our vendors from there, resulting in a dream team of experts who had all worked together before.
Communication with the Rule of Thirds team was 10/10, as was their attention to detail. The tasting was SO MUCH FUN, and we absolutely loved the wedding day itself. On the wedding day, we didn't have to lift a finger or think about a thing - everything that was previously discussed and planned was executed to a T. If there were any hiccups, they were addressed behind the scenes without involving us, allowing us to have an amazing time in a beautiful space with all of our loved ones.
We had our ceremony in the round under the skylight, which felt so cozy and intimate. The space itself is striking at baseline, with a minimalist, industrial feel, which we loved. We chose to incorporate florals, which were beautiful, but we never felt pressured to go overboard with décor because the space is so striking on its own.
We'd choose Rule of Thirds for our wedding again and again without hesitation. From the incredible team to the beautiful space and amazing food, it was everything we hoped for and more. -

Best wedding venue!
If anyone is looking for a wedding venue in New York, Rule of Thirds (RoT) should be in your Top 1 list!!! What made RoT so special to us were the people who helped us throughout our wedding planning process. Thanks to people like Gracyn and Julie, we couldn't have asked for a better venue. They were always responsive when we needed them and always handled our questions with care. It was through the way they helped us that made us feel confident with our decision to host our wedding at RoT.
The venue is perfect for anyone looking to have a small wedding. The venue is cozy but still has that "New York" vibe that makes it feel special. Even with minimal decoration, the whole venue shined bright and impressed all of our guests! My wife and I were left speechless when they gave us a sneak peak before the dinner reception.
Not only was the venue amazing, but you can't forget about the food! My wife and I came to RoT (as a restaurant) before and were familiar with the food they served. Our reason for choosing RoT was mainly because the food was so good. However, we were worried that the food quality may drop since they would be serving a large group of people. Boy, were we soo wrong!! Even though they cooked food for such a large group of people, RoT still managed to keep the quality of their food. All our guests were raving about how good the food was and that they wished they had more. This made us feel even happier with our choice and we will never regret it!
The only sad part now is that we will have to wait for another opportunity to come for us reach out to RoT for another event. If you are looking for a wedding venue (or any event venue) please use RoT! You won't regret it!!!! -

Amazing wedding experience!
We visited Rule of Thirds twice before signing our contract and fell in love with the space more each time. Choosing them as our wedding venue ended up being one of the best decisions we made.
From the very beginning, Julie and Gracyn were absolutely amazing to work with. They were incredibly communicative, responsive, and genuinely warm throughout the entire planning process. Their hospitality immediately stood out to us and made the planning process feel exciting and never stressful.
The food was obviously one of the biggest reasons we chose Rule of Thirds, and they did not disappoint. We received countless compliments from our guests throughout the evening about how delicious the food was and the overall dining experience. We were able to do a complementary tasting a month before, which was a super fun experience and extremely helpful in curating our menu! The team was also very accommodating in allowing us to make a few small adjustments to the menu so that it better reflected our preferences, which we greatly appreciated.
The space itself is absolutely stunning. We hosted a half-buyout wedding, and the minimalist design (natural wood and bamboo elements paired with beautiful greenery) and iconic skylight ceiling created such a warm, modern, and elegant atmosphere. The mirrored view of the Empire State Building through the skylight was also a huge hit with our guests, who were constantly taking photos throughout the evening. One of the things we loved most was that the venue already has so much character on its own that it requires very little additional décor to feel special.
Finally, the staff was exceptional. Every member of the team was professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Multiple guests went out of their way to tell us how impressed they were with the service and how warmly they were treated throughout the evening, which meant a lot to us.
Rule of Thirds delivered everything we were looking for in a wedding venue: incredible food, a beautiful and unique space, outstanding service, and a team that truly cares about creating a memorable experience. We cannot recommend Rule of Thirds highly enough!! -

Rule of Thirds is the Best!
Deciding to get married at Rule of Thirds was easily the best decision we made during wedding planning. We got married there at the end of June and it was the perfect venue for a fun, warm, and meaningful celebration.
From the staff to the food and drinks to the overall vibe, we had the best day imaginable. From the very beginning, Julie and Mandy were so great and easy to work with. The entire team is friendly, responsive, and flexible- ideal partners to work through ideas and vision. They are also especially accommodating with dietary needs, customizing the menu to fit our needs. They went above and beyond to prepare separate dishes for guests with restrictions so they wouldn't miss out on any of the delicious courses otherwise served family style.
The food and drinks in general are amazing and unique. It is truly restaurant quality (and we love going back to the restaurant to eat some of the dishes that were on our wedding menu). We added on the hand roll station and sake tasting during the cocktail hour which were both big hits.
Lastly, the space itself is beautiful and needs minimal additional florals or decor. The natural light (especially coming from the super cool skylight periscope), industrial touches, and warmth from the wood and plants all combine to create a chic and relaxed atmosphere.
Overall we love RoT and could not recommend it enough. Once you explore the space and eat the food, you will also understand why it's so special. Thank you, thank you to the team for being so great and helping us have the best wedding day. -

Rule of Thirds 10000/10!
Rule of Thirds was our top venue from the start of our wedding planning, and we’re so happy we went with them for the big day because it was executed flawlessly. We personally didn’t want our wedding to feel overly formal or stiff, but still wanted a chic, elevated vibe so Rule of Thirds was perfect for us. The space itself is already beautiful on its own, we loved the industrial aesthetic with the natural touches of the plants already there. It was nice to not feel pressure to spend out of our budget in terms of decorations, the florist and lighting rentals we brought in blended in seamlessly with the venue.
For the food tasting, we weren’t able to make it since we’re currently based out of state, but my mom and her friend who live in the area stepped in for us. They called me the next day gushing about how much fun they had at dinner lol and said that they were very happy with all the food and drink they tried, making it hard to pick favorites.
Communication with the events team was easy and efficient throughout the whole planning process. Our main contacts were Julie and Mandy, who were both incredibly cordial and hospitable. They were very responsive to all of our questions or notes too. They provided a great list of vetted vendor recommendations for you to choose from, and there were also no problems bringing in vendors outside of that.
The staff who worked on the wedding day (bartenders, servers, etc.) were all really friendly and approachable, our friends and family all had pleasant interactions with them, and they even checked in on us throughout the night to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. One of my friends is considering Rule of Thirds as the venue for her upcoming wedding, so our wedding was essentially a trial run for her and her fiancé and they both left convinced - they loved it! The food was so well prepared and varied, there was something for everyone and all of our guests left happy and full. They were also very accommodating to our guests with food allergies / diet restrictions, and they enjoyed their meals as well (including one with a fish allergy)! Majority of our 120 guests were older relatives and family then the rest were friends our age (late 20s), and everyone collectively had a great time. Overall the venue covered everything we envisioned for our wedding and more, the food and drinks (both alcoholic and NA) were amazing, and it was the perfect environment. Thank you so much!! -

Five Stars, No Notes
We had our wedding at Rule of Thirds, and it was absolute perfection from start to finish. The space is effortlessly cool and beautiful — modern yet warm, with such a great flow. The team was incredible to work with, and every detail was handled with care and professionalism. Julie and Mandy were amazing to work with - incredible responsive and helped answer all our questions throughout the process.
And the food… truly next-level. Our guests are still talking about how amazing every dish was (and the cocktails, too!). From the welcome drinks to the late-night bites, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
Rule of Thirds gave us the most magical day — amazing food, impeccable service, and a setting that felt so “us.” We couldn’t recommend it more highly! -

Oct wedding at Rule of Thirds
Strongly exceeded our expectations. The space was absolutely stunning - the skylight, the reception space basking in golden hour all added to the mood of the event. The food was excellent, to nobody's surprise - our guests kept on complimenting us on food and beverage during the night and even over the next couple of days. The team at Rule of Thirds was professional and warm, and the event coordinator was so communicative and easy to work with. I cannot recommend this venue enough. -

One of a kind
My wife and I began our venue search in November 2024 for an August 2025 wedding. We had a vision to host a wedding with an intimate, low-key, and comforting vibe while serving our loved ones delicious food in a space where people of all ages and walks of life could come together and share in laughter, joy, and good conversations. When we first arranged a visit to Rule of Thirds, we immediately knew that this was the place that could bring our dreams into reality. Julie and Mandy were our primary points of contact throughout the process, while Lucia was our point of contact the day of, and all three of them are such lovely and thoughtful people to partner with. The Rule of Thirds team is responsive, accommodating, respectful, and so on top of execution from beginning to end. The space itself is filled with lots of light, and the natural, neutral, and rustic tones and textures truly create a one-of-a-kind experience. The team is experienced and quick, so everything the day of - the transitions, service, etc. - was seamless. So many of our guests loved the ambiance and have let us know that it was the best food at a wedding they've ever had. -

Our perfect reception!
We hosted our wedding reception at Rule of Thirds and we could not have been happier with the outcome! We worked with Julie and Mandy. Julie was super helpful in getting the process started and Mandy was our coordinator. Both were such wonderful people to work with. Made our vision for the reception come to life! The place itself is such a beautiful space for a reception anyways! The staff were so kind and great! We had a guest who wasn’t feeling well and the staff were there to assist and help them with their needs! We are both so happy we chose Rule of Thirds for our wedding celebration and all we got were compliments on the food, the staff, the venue! -

The Venue of our Dreams!
From the moment we walked into Rule of Thirds for our site visit, we knew that we had found the perfect venue for our wedding! We had our wedding this past May 2025 at Rule of Thirds, and could not be MORE HAPPY for our decision. Not only is the space incredibly beautiful, but the staff is amazing, truly so helpful, kind, and patient. Food and drink being included due to the incredible restaurant that Rule of Thirds already is, in addition to hosting events, made booking this space an even easier decision! Julie and Mandy, who communicated with us throughout our planning process, were a huge help as we worked to envision our big day, and were always available to answer our questions as they came up. Additionally, the food tasting experience was a lot of fun, and made us even more excited for the wedding! Naturally, everything was DELICIOUS and our friends cannot stop raving about how good everything was. On the day-of our wedding, our onsite events operations manager, Lucia, was also a huge help, and alongside our day of coordinating team, it felt like we had an amazing crew supporting us, and ensuring that we felt relaxed and happy all day long. The space itself is also stunning, especially the skylight at the center of the atrium space, which became such a focal point for our wedding design as we envisioned everything coming together. Having access to the bridal suite behind their sake shop also made preparing before and after our ceremony seamless. The way everything came together at the venue, including flowers, signage, and our floor plan, was perfect, and everything we could have ever dreamed of. We cannot recommend this venue enough, and will always remember Rule of Thirds as a special place in our hearts where we got to start the rest of our lives together with friends and family all around us! Thank you! -

Wonderful Wedding Venue
Rule of Thirds exceeded all of our expectations! We used their event space to host our wedding of 130 guests. Julie & Mandy were communicative and responsive from our initial inquiry to the wedding day - and after!, and the staff on the day of the wedding was exceptional!! Our guests raved about not only the food (which many said it was the best wedding food they ever had!), but also the service. Many appreciated how quickly the food was served and how their wine glasses were always full! We felt so taken care of the whole day, and they also sent us home with leftovers and a bottle of sake so we could continue to bask in the wedding bliss the next day! Couldn't recommend them enough. -

The wedding of our dreams!
We cannot recommend Rule of Thirds enough after our April wedding. Our whole experience throughout the planning stages to the wedding day was amazing. We were essentially looking for a place where we could have good food and drinks and have fun with our family and friends, and Rule of Thirds delivered on every front. The space is absolutely beautiful and looks wonderful both with minimal or lots of additional decorations. The food and drinks are also PHENOMENAL, which was a huge priority for us. Julie and Mandy were our main contacts during the planning stages, and they were both extremely professional, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire process. We particularly appreciated their flexibility with accommodations for some of our guests. Our wedding day was SO much fun, and we had so many guests tell us it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. Everything went very smoothly, and every Rule of Thirds staff member we interacted with on the day of was extremely kind and helpful. Thank you so much! -

RoT is amazing
We hosted our wedding at Rule of Thirds, and it’s hard to put into words just how incredible the experience was. From the very beginning, the team made us feel like we were in the best hands—and on the big day, they absolutely delivered.
We want to especially recognize Lucia, Julie, and Mandy, who went above and beyond at every turn. Lucia, in particular, was a calm, steady presence throughout the night and made sure we were taken care of at every moment—anticipating our needs before we even knew what they were. She was genuinely a joy to be around and a huge part of why we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves.
Our guests were also blown away—not just by the food (which was, of course, phenomenal), but by the service. So many people told us how warm, thoughtful, and attentive the staff were, and we couldn’t agree more. Every single person went the extra mile—not just for our guests, but for us, making sure everything ran smoothly and that we felt supported, celebrated, and cared for.
Rule of Thirds is a special place, and their team made our wedding feel effortless, intimate, and unforgettable. If you’re considering hosting an event here—do it. You’ll be in the best hands. -

November Rule of Thirds Wedding
I would recommend ROT to anyone interested in having a city wedding!! Our friends were literally like -- are you guys having a wedding? Because we had so little stress planning it. Once we booked, basically everything was taken care of and planning was a breeze. Paige, our coordinator, was incredible and helped us with all of the little things we needed to do and made the day so smooth. Everyone said it was by far the best food and service theyve ever had at a wedding. The bartenders were so on it and professional, there was never a line for a drink. The food was delicious and came out hot even for dinner with 180 people! Everyone also really let us customize the space and use it how we wanted, so we ended up having the perfect night. I really truly couldn't recommend it more! -

Wedding of our Dreams
Rule of Thirds was the wedding venue of our absolute dreams! From the very first email to the day of our wedding, the entire experience was nothing short of perfect. The staff was incredible, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about the exceptional service and phenomenal food. So many of them said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had.
Julie, one of the amazing event managers, made the planning process an absolute breeze. From our first visit to the venue, she and her team were so professional, helpful, and clearly experts at what they do. They took nearly all of the work off our hands, making it possible for us to plan the perfect wedding in just four months. They were with us every step of the way, from organizing a fun and delicious tasting—where we even got to meet the owner, who was so down-to-earth and welcoming—to helping us finalize the flow of events, table and décor layouts, and every tiny detail. The lead-up was seamless, and their communication made us feel so supported and cared for.
The wedding day itself exceeded all expectations. The venue truly shines in the evening with its unique, social, and effortlessly cool Brooklyn vibe. It was the perfect atmosphere for our celebration, and the service was unparalleled. We were blown away by how well-staffed the event was—no one had to wait for drinks, and guests were even able to get seconds at dinner because the food was that good! As the bride and groom, we received such exceptional service that we probably ate more than anyone else (a rare luxury on your wedding day!).
The hospitality of the Rule of Thirds team was unmatched. Julie and Mandy made sure no detail was spared, and they were a joy to work with from start to finish. Honestly, I’m going to miss communicating with them—they are THAT good at what they do and make the process so enjoyable.
To anyone who is engaged and looking for the perfect venue: get married at Rule of Thirds. You will not regret it. They gave us the best wedding we could have ever imagined, with perfect food, perfect service, and an unforgettable atmosphere. Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing our vision to life in such a short time and giving us a day we will cherish forever! -

Rule of Thirds is the best!!!
I cannot say enough good things about Rule of Thirds. We had our wedding there in December and it was flawless. The food is exceptional. The space is stunning. Mandy, Julie and the whole team were responsive and helpful. We had 118 guests and had plenty of space for our ceremony, dinner and dancing. If you want a fun Brooklyn wedding with a cool vibe then this is the spot!!! It was the best day of our lives and we’re so thankful we chose Rule of Thirds! -

Amazing experience
We had our October 2024 wedding at Rule of Thirds and it was the best decision we could have made. It is an absolutely stunning and unique space. Their menu is incredible. Cocktails, apps, entrees, etc. We have had a lot of guests sending us messages a month later telling us that they’re still dreaming about the food. Their team could not have been more professional, kind, and communicative with us throughout the wedding planning process. We worked closely with Julie who is a superstar. She went above and beyond to make the day feel seamless and special - Julie is incredibly on the ball and is always thinking ahead and about the details. She gave us excellent advice during our time working together - strategizing with us about the seating layout, the ceremony timeline, and even our speech schedule. She even saved the day by being the only one who knew how to bustle my complicated dress. She and the whole whole team are wonderful. All to say, we could not speak more highly of our experience with Rule of Thirds. -

We just had our wedding at Rule of Thirds in the Atrium and corner room, and to say it exceeded our expectations is an understatement.

A quintessential Brooklyn venue
Our guests are still raving about the food from our wedding at Rule of Thirds! We loved working with the venue coordinators, from start to finish, and they made us feel extra special during our out-of-this-world wedding tasting. They even made us a new signature cocktail by mixing their delicious, non-alcoholic Melonade with tequila. Everyone loved them!
We also didn't have to spend too much on decor because the venue was already so beautiful. A plus for any budget-conscious couples!
One aspect we greatly appreciated was the use of one of their private rooms. The coordinators warned us that we may not have access to them if they're rented out, but luckily, no one booked them the day/night of our wedding. It was the perfect place to stash our things, sign our ketubah and marriage license, and even to let the kids relax and eat dinner. We love Rule of Thirds! -

Modern Chic Brookyln Wedding
We are SO happy with our decision to have our wedding at Rule of Thirds in Brooklyn and couldn't be more pleased with the experience.
Living in Florida, we embarked on a journey to Brooklyn for site visits and instantly fell in love with Rule of Thirds. This Japanese restaurant boasts an industrial chic private event space that perfectly suited our needs. While the venue offers the option for a full buyout, our guest count of just over 100 was ideal for the private space, which could have accommodated even more.
From the very start, the staff at Rule of Thirds were professional and on top of everything. The venue's inherent beauty was a major selling point, allowing us to keep additional decor minimal and still achieve a stunning ambiance. Our in-house coordinator, Julie Hurley, was nothing short of amazing. She was extremely accommodating, responsive, and easy to work with, making the entire planning process seamless. When we met Julie in person for our tasting, we immediately knew we had made the right choice. Her warmth and professionalism solidified our decision, and the tasting itself was a wonderful, memorable experience that heightened our excitement for the big day.
Honestly, working with Julie and RoT was a breeze and I am so grateful for that. The night was 10/10 - I am so happy that our experience and the end result was absolutely perfect. It was the Brooklyn chic wedding we always dreamt of. No stuffy, uptight people or atmosphere here!
The menu was nothing short of spectacular, and just as many other reviews mentioned, our guests absolutely loved the food and service. I loved the options they offer for the full bar, the menu is robust and everything was delicious, and I especially love that they tray pass dessert bites, as we opted to forgo serving wedding cake. Our wedding at Rule of Thirds was perfect from start to finish.
The combination of a beautiful venue, an exceptional staff, and Julie's outstanding coordination made for an unforgettable experience. We hope the restaurant sticks around for some time so that we can go back to visit and have another incredible meal the next time we are in NY.
We have nothing but great things to say about Rule of Thirds and our special night. If you're considering this venue for your event or wedding, look no further—you will be in excellent hands and your guests will be sure to rave about the night for years to come.-

The BEST venue!!
Where to even begin! First off, my wife and I had a fairly large wedding for NYC, roughly 200 people, so when we started to look at venues, we were so nervous about what we would find. Rule of Thirds was actually the first venue we saw, and we were blown away by the space. If you’re renting out the full venue, you get access to the entire restaurant, plus the event space, as well as the outdoor area. It makes the flow of the wedding so nice, so everyone wasn’t crammed into one space as they were trying to flip it for the ceremony, dinner, and dancing. We were also able to rent out the photo studio attached to the sake shop to get ready in, so we were on-site all day, which was AMAZING. We could easily discuss things with our day-of coordinator, florist, etc., and the space was so large and had impeccable light (our makeup artist and hair stylist were super happy with it!).
We chose to use the venue coordinator, Julie, as our day of coordinator, and we cannot say enough good things about her. She was incredibly responsive, super organized, and comes from the wedding industry, so she brought up things that we didn’t even think to consider for the day of that were so helpful. Beyond that, she was so pleasant to work with and just had an amazing, chill vibe that everyone wants from their coordinator on the wedding day. It was also amazing that she works at the venue, so she knew all the ins and outs of the space and could easily coordinate with our other vendors. She helped ensure the bridal party was in the right places at the right time, moved people from room to room when needed, and helped us stay on track with the flow of the wedding, which was perfect and so seamless. She and the ROT team set up the entire space exactly as we envisioned, and everything looked beautiful!
The venue is honestly perfect for a wedding. We were able to use private dining spaces in the venue for a photobooth and coat closet, plenty of bathrooms (not something you think about until you go to a wedding with too few!), an amazing outdoor space for guests to cool down/get away from the noise, a huge dance floor area, spacious dining room, and so many bars for our guests to go to. The staff were all amazing, endlessly refilling drinks and food, and everyone was incredibly nice.
Even after all of the amazing things above, the best part about Rule of Thirds is the food. From the cocktail hour to the dessert, this food is amazing and well beyond typical wedding standards. We had so many guests tell us how good everything was, and we were told this was the first wedding at the venue where every single canape and raw bar item was eaten, so our guests were very happy! (if you can, splurge on the raw bar because it was so good!!) After the ceremony, they set up a spot for us to sample all the canapes and raw bar items, which we were super thankful for since we would never have eaten anything otherwise. We also had a very specific request for a mazeman noodle dish we had eaten when we toured the space a year prior, and the chef and team made it happen for us, which was AMAZING and so incredibly delicious.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue and considering Rule of Thirds, DO IT! We wish we could relive the day all over again because it was so amazing, and we will forever be hoping someone else we know gets married here so we can experience something similar again.

Best wedding at Rule of Thirds!
We had a fantastic experience getting married at Rule of Thirds. We were drawn to it for the beautiful space and the delicious food — both of those things delivered — but we were even more impressed with the service.
From the beginning, they were super amenable, answering every question we had quickly, and being very available for us to drop by to be in the space multiple times. We used on of their in-house day-of coordinators, Paige, who was really friendly and on top of everything. The day ran smoothly — we had nothing to think or worry about, and were just able to have a good time.
Many of our guests commented on how it was the best food they ever had at a wedding, and about how beautiful and unique the room was. Our vendors also mentioned that they were easy to work with. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. -

The reception of my dreams!
I had the reception of my dreams here. Aka the best weekend of my life! ROT spoiled my partner and I throughout the process. They were communicative, professional, and warm. They made it as easy as possible, and it was fun! I loved our tasting, they made us feel like guests of honor. They brought us snacks and drinks in the bridal suite the day of. They made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The servers and bartenders were all amazing and contributed to a lovely atmosphere. It’s such a relaxed and fun environment, yet tasteful and well-designed. We didn’t need a lot of decor, and all our guests had the best time :) -

Amazing Wedding Venue
We’re so glad we went with Rule of Thirds for our venue. In our planning stages, we were so happy to find Rule of Thirds after many unsuccessful searches. Venues in the Catskills, while gorgeous, were difficult for our guests to get to and required us to figure out guest accommodations while NYC venues were either too stuffy, too expensive or too small. Rule of Thirds checked all our boxes — cool vibe, great food, large enough for eating and dancing and an all service vendor. And as an added perk, there was so much greenery already in the venue which made decor a lot easier for us.
In the end, we really couldn’t imagine a better vendor for our wedding. Everyone had so much fun, complimented the food and drinks and marveled at the space itself.
We’re so thankful to Sydney, who coordinated things on behalf of the venue, as well as the team who provided world class service on our big day! -

Amazing!
We had such a wonderful experience having our wedding here! The venue itself is beautiful with wood and brick details already outfitted with thriving green plants to tie into your floral arrangements, the food is delicious (we got so many compliments about the meal), the staff is attentive and helpful, but what really made the night so special was our Rule of Thirds planner, Sydney who went above and beyond and made sure everything was perfect for us. Thank you so so so much! 10/10 Definitely recommend! -

Rule of thirds: stunning
We held our wedding at Rule of Thirds and could not have asked for a better experience. Our wedding coordinators, Sydney and Paige, were there every step of the way (via multiple showings, prep zooms, vendor coordination, day of texts and during-event check-ins) to make our day perfect. Our guests RAVED about the food (the Prime Rib was the VIP) and drinks, superior service and the airy venue space - it was truly perfect.
I would also count the venue as a more affordable wedding venue by NYC standards. The Rule of Thirds team was flexible in accommodating our needs (e.g. we opted for a cocktail reception versus a sit-down dinner). The space is prime for decorations as well!
There is a private dining room the wedding party can use to get ready, house bags, etc. which is great. Plenty of restrooms for guests too! -

Best wedding venue ever!!!
We had our wedding here and it was truly a flawless night thanks to the team at ROT. The food was fantastic and perfectly portioned and our guests couldn't get enough. The space itself was beautiful and required minimal additional decorating, and it was the perfect size for our group of 135. The planning and coordinating process was smooth from start to finish, and we couldn't recommend it more as a place to host your special day. -

Rule of Thirds is the best Brooklyn Wedding Venue!
We hosted our wedding at Rule of Thirds this past May and had the absolute best experience. Sydney and the entire events team went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. They worked with us to bring in our list of preferred wines, ensured all of our vendors could seamlessly set up everything, and we heard from many guests that the food at our wedding was the best wedding food ever. We can't recommend Rule of Thirds enough!

Best venue ever
We hosted our 275 person wedding here in April. It was a better venue than we could have imagined. Service was incredible even with that large number of people. The food and drinks were excellent, and the tasting for it was an event in itself. They were super flexible to work with. The full buy out is such a unique experience. The sake tasting is a MUST. Perfect venue in any weather (it rained for ours and we were still able to use the courtyard and tents really well). -

Beautiful space, incredible food, great service
We looked thoroughly at all the venues throughout Brooklyn, but finally landed on Rule of Thirds and it was the best decision ever! We had a medium-sized wedding (80 people) so we only had the event space, but it is beautifully sunlit and full of greenery that already creates an ambiance. Food & drink were very important to us, and as we've already been to the restaurant many times, we were happy that the quality was just the same as it is eating in the restaurant — SO many of our guests have later told us it was the best wedding meal they've ever had (though we weren't surprised, we love RoT)! The waitstaff is professional and on point, they helped manage the various dietary restrictions (GF, DF, vegan, etc.) we had among our guests. We appreciated the special sake toast that they were able to help coordinate; that was so important to us and it went off without a hitch. It's definitely not a traditional space (which was a selling point to us!) and with the beautiful view of the city from the skylight and North Brooklyn location (lots of hotel accommodations nearby and bars for an afterparty), it was the perfect place for us to have our wedding. Thanks again to Sydney and team-

Great experience
Rule of Thirds was incredible. Sydney was a pleasure to work with - she was accommodating and was quick to respond to all of our questions. The venue is spacious, open, and filled with plants- we had minimal decor/florals and only candles for additional lighting, and it looked beautiful. The restaurant did everything (bar, servers, printed menus, set the tables, etc.), and the food and service were amazing. The only additional expenses were a DJ and photographer. Most of the planning happened at the last minute, which worked fine with us. -

Everything We Could Have Asked For (and more)!
Working with Sydney and the Rule of Thirds staff was a seamless, stress-free experience. Not only is the venue stunning and dreamy, but the entire staff was impeccable and attuned to every detail from the beginning to the end of our wedding. Sydney was responsive, beyond helpful, and brought our vision to life. She helped us feel grounded and at ease throughout the entire process. COULD NOT RECOMMEND RULE OF THIRDS MORE!! It was perfect.

Transformative space ready for all your creative vision
When our wedding planner walked us through this space, we felt immediately inspired by all the different areas of the venue. We knew we didn't want to get married in a blank room with four walls, and set out to craft an event that felt transportive to a world that reflected our journey as a couple. The team at Rule of Thirds helped us do that. From quick coordination to offering flexible menu adjustments to accommodating vendor visits with or without us, we truly appreciate Sydney and her team's time bringing our vision to life. (Our guests are still in disbelief how insanely good even just the sides and soft serve dessert were, in addition to the main entrees.) NYC weddings are not for the price-conscious, but we felt like we got great value as we never had to worry about additional expenses at other venues like chairs, plates, or even menus since all of theirs were already beautiful. RoT was an amazing canvas for our vision, and we are beyond grateful we'll have this to remember by forever. -

Best Wedding Ever
We held our wedding in September at Rule of Thirds and our event went even better than we could have imagined.
With 200 guests, we rented the entire restaurant and event space - which has an industrial, trendy warehouse vibe mixed with an elegant minimalist atheistic. Our evening flowed seamlessly, starting with a ceremony under the atrium, cocktail hour in the restaurant and garden, dinner in the event space, and dancing back in the restaurant.
The team at Sunday Hospitality Group worked with us from start to finish to develop the timeline for our wedding while also accommodating nearly all of our unique requests. Shout out to Sydney, our main contact and day of coordinator, who was always organized, responsive to our questions and concerns, and who collaborated well with all of our other vendors. The entire staff the day of our wedding was professional, courteous and kept the evening running seamlessly.
Our guests raved about the food, which is a little more adventurous than your typical wedding fare. The chef helped us create a menu that highlighted his Japanese cuisine but also catered to the varied tastes of our guests. The kaarage (fried chicken), roasted fish (bass), special potato salad and sesame soft serve in particular were big hits. We also added an Oyster bar and grill station which were popular. The venue also offers a superior selection of wines, spirits and cocktails that kept all of our guests happy.
I would highly recommend hosting your wedding or next big event at Rule of Thirds if you are looking for a beautiful and unique space amidst the bustle of North Brooklyn, staffed by an incredible team. -

Beautiful space with friendly, attentive staff
The Rule of Thirds team made sure our wedding was perfect! The venue itself is beautiful - open, airy, modern, and very Brooklyn, and every member of the staff made our event run perfectly. They were attentive to every detail and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just as we liked it, even if it was extra work for them. The food was amazing and all of our guests had a great time. I cannot recommend Rule of Thirds highly enough! -

The best wedding venue + food + drinks ever
My husband and I live a 5 minute walk from Rule of Thirds and it's a practice in extreme self-control to not go there for brunch or dinner all the time. But that's not why I'm writing a review today. It's because of the INCREDIBLE time we had hosting our wedding at Rule of Thirds. Take the BEST food and drinks + impeccable service from all Rule of Thirds staff and event managers + a beautiful space that gives you a lot of beautiful starting points to build off of and it truly gets you the best wedding ever. We couldn't wait to share all of what Rule of Thirds has to offer to our friends and family who came in from out of town and also the ones in town who hadn't had a chance to eat here yet. I'm so grateful to everyone at Rule of Thirds for making the entire day so special and we can't wait to keep going back there and reliving it time and time again. We did a full buyout of the space and it gave everyone a ton of beautiful areas to explore, we were able to use their outdoor private dining areas for a sake tasting during the cocktail hour, and of course people loved the event space itself -- lots of selfies and other fun videos taken in the atrium room with the mirrored skylight. Honestly too much good to write it all here - but have your wedding (or other event!) here and you will never ever regret it. OR at the least go for dinner and enjoy all the delicious food and amazing service you'll get as a normal patron of the restaurant. WE LOVE RULE OF THIRDS!-

Beautiful venue!
Rule of Thirds is amazing! It was the perfect venue to have a non-traditional, modern NYC wedding. Because their venue space has lots of greenery and a skylight (from which you can see the Empire State building!) adding flowers and candles made the environment so unique and special. Our guests loved the food (dinner was served family style, and we got great feedback on cocktails and canapes) and drinks, and Sydney from the Rule of Thirds team was an absolute dream to work with. Highly recommend working with them! -
