Loved our experience with RubySky Photography!

We loved working with RubySky Photography for our engagement and wedding photos. Keesha was creative in our locations and poses. Our engagement photos were taken in the fall and we LOVE them. Then, our wedding was the following winter, and the pictures are absolutely gorgeous. I can't recommend RubySky Photography enough!

RubySky - the Queen of Urban & Rural Settings

We've been working with RubySky to make our engagement and wedding photography dreams come true for almost two years, and we couldn't be more grateful that we chose Keesha as our photographer.

Firstly, Keesha's personality is great for us. She is so warm and gentle to be around that we were comfortable posing for her immediately. While Keesha is not bossy or extremely vocal, she shared creative photo ideas that helped us make the most of our selected engagement & wedding photo venues.

On venues, Keesha came to DC proper so that our engagement photos could be in an urban setting to counter our more rural wedding venue. She nails both (we chose her first for her appreciation and photography of the natural world)! She came up with creative shots that took advantage of the setting and "props" available to us to make unique but timeless photos for us. On my wedding day, she entertained my silly desire to complete an entire photo shoot in the beautiful clawfoot tub in the bridal sweet-- she goes with the flow, even with vocal family members and bridal party buzzing about her.

Keesha was flexible in scheduling, allowing us to add extra hours less than a month out as we built out our wedding day timeline and realized we'd like her to capture the day from beginning to end (she also has stamina). On our wedding day, Keesha brought about her assistant Bessie, who was so much fun and made us feel so comfortable as well. Both were lovely additions to the day; it wouldn't have been the same without them, and -- the gorgeous, bold, and creative photos are a big plus! We absolutely recommend RubySky to Virginia couples!

Everything We Hoped For More!

Keesha is simply the best. She is so easy going, sweet-sweet (so sweet you have to say it twice), organized & professional, but above all- her artistic eye is simply unmatched. We cherish the end product of both our engagement session and our big day. Even her tangible end-product is the best without skimping at all on details.

Best Decision!!

Choosing RubySkyPhotography was one of the best decisions throughout our wedding planning process. Keesha was referred to us by a good friend of ours who also used her as a wedding photographer. We had both our engagement and wedding photos taken by Keesha, which was great because we got to spend some time with her before our big day. She is the sweetest lady, super flexible and very patient. She made sure to keep things light hearted and comfortable during our photo sessions, and directed us as needed. She is an extremely talented artist and has a great eye for capturing nature, landscapes, vivid colors, dramatic skies, and more. Our wedding photos turned out absolutely beautiful despite the overcast skies and rain from Hurricane Florence. Thank you Keesha for our stunning wedding album. There for us, rain or shine!!

Keesha was absolutely amazing! We found her through recommendations online and after speaking with her on the phone we immediately knew we wanted to hire her. We booked her for our wedding and for our engagement photos. To say these 2 events had a few issues with the weather is an understatement. We came down to Harrisonburg for our engagement photos was the one weekend in April since 1990 that Harrisonburg had snow. Forecasts were calling for multiple inches but we decided, hell or high water we were gonna get these photos done. Keesha reached out to us and let us know that if we were down to brave the water than she was. She met us at our preplanned location and took the most amazing photos. One of which became our Christmas card this year.

Our wedding day also happened to fall on the Friday that hurricane Florence was meant to reach Harrisonburg. Again Keesha was there to support us through thick or thin. If her positivity alone wasn’t enough of a reason to hire her the photos she took were absolutely breathtaking. She took special care to capture all of the photos we wanted while also bringing her own ideas and style into them. She captured the beauty of the area that for our photos in ways that still amazes us now.

Absolutely the best choice for wedding photography!

I have been admiring Rubysky since I was in high school and first fell in love with Keesha's style of photography. We contacted her after getting engaged, set up a meeting at a local coffee shop, and were immediately hooked! I think Rubysky was the very first vendor that we secured. Keesha is professional, flexible, and personable. Our engagement shoot took place at our dream location, Skyline Drive, and the photos were better than we could have imagined! She gave us great direction during the shoot, which we were grateful for. Any awkwardness quickly subsided, and we had a great time. As the wedding approached Keesha was in touch with us and made sure to secure any details ahead of time. Keesha and her second shooter arrived perfectly on time at our wedding venue and were quick to direct the photos along the predetermined timeline, which we greatly appreciated. Every moment was perfectly captured, and I was never stressed about the photographers missing a shot. Keesha and the second shooter were quiet and discrete during the ceremony which I valued greatly as I've attended weddings with extremely distracting photographers in the past. We ended up with hundreds of stunning photos and have received countless compliments on the style of the images themselves. In short, Rubysky Photography is super organized, reliable, talented, and relieved us of any picture-related stress! We could not have made a better choice.

When I was looking for a wedding photographer, I knew I wanted someone that would produce artistic and unique images for us. All too often a couple's wedding photos can end up looking the same as every other wedding with the bright white and pastels color scheme and the same poses and the same scenery. When I told Keesha at RubySky my thoughts on this, we were on the same page instantly about the vision of the wedding. On the big day, she and her 2nd photographer Stephanie were absolutely amazing to work with and the pictures turned out wonderfully! Better than I could have asked for! We had a meeting or two by phone and several email exchanges back and forth pre-wedding date where she was responsive and professional as she organized with us the photo schedule for the big day. She was calm, knowledgeable, and worked with us even through some last minute weather related schedule changes to give us all the pictures we wanted and more. Her artistic eye was brilliant as she noticed cool backgrounds and interesting scenery we wouldn't have thought of for our pictures. On your big day, you want every detail captured: you, your spouse, your friends and family. Ruby Sky Photography out-performed our expectations! Their timely response to all emails and questions was a true mark of their dedication. I am so glad Keesha recommended a First-Look photo! I was hesitant at first but after reading an article she sent me, it made sense and took the pressure off! Keesha took our ideas and then mixed in her own creative moments all day. Keesha is fantastic and beyond! She did our July 2016 wedding and fall 2015 engagement photography and is an absolute breeze to work with. She was so patient with every part of the process and great about providing structure but also allowing for our "details." Our photos are a beautiful mix of traditional, artistic, photojournalist and romantic shots, which was exactly what we hoped for. We get so many compliments on them and we feel she truly captured the spirit of our day. Keehsa and her team did an excellent job keeping us on schedule and flowing with the inevitable unpredictable moments (like a crazy thunderstorm right before our ceremony!). This woman is a complete and TOTAL artist. We used Keesha for our October 2016 wedding and engagement photography. As a former photography major in college I was very particular in the type of photographs I wanted and staged awkward and stiff were not on the list. What Keesha has provided are unique beyond romantic moments that I can't stop staring at. We have gotten so many compliments on the photography and I can easily say it was worth each and every day waiting for proofs and every penny spent. It has been an absolute delight working with Keesha. The booking process was straightforward and easy. The prices aren't low, but given the artistry and work she puts in, we felt that it was truly worth it. Neither Andrew nor I are exactly comfortable in front of cameras, but Keesha and her second shooter Rebecca put us at ease, had us laughing, became a special and integral part of the day, and got some absolutely amazing shots as well. She was cool under pressure when a conflict arose at a location we wanted to shoot at, and made it happen for us anyway. We can't recommend her highly enough, and look forward to working with her again!

I had a very small outdoor wedding that was in many senses fairly informal (we had a picnic lunch from Chic-fil-A after the ceremony). It was super important to me to find a quality photographer since everyone in my family takes terrible pictures! I was willing to spend the necessary money to put myself in the expert category (when it comes to photographers, I think you really do get what you pay for).
I choose RubySky because of the expert quality of the work as well as the studio's rather unique approach: all of the photos are treated as individual works of art, and I wanted quality over quantity.
Also, for the expertise, the fee was entirely reasonable -- within my budget and lower than the other quotes I solicited.
Not only does Keesha take wonderful pictures, it was really lovely to have her take part in our special day. This is someone I met for the first time attempting to walk in heels on gravel, my groom waiting somewhere in the garden... Instantly I felt comfortable and was able to enjoy the photo shoot despite the 85+ degree heat! She couldn't have been warmer and more professional--I would recommend her wholeheartedly!

Keesha was great and her photos are amazing! We are so pleased with our wedding photos. The way Keesha works with lighting is such an art, the finished product is flawless without looking over edited. The entire process was easy, we told Keesha what we were looking for, simple and not many posed photos...the more candid the better. Keesha captured beautiful candid shots of our friends and family, along with some beautiful shots of just us! When we started researching potential wedding photographers, and saw RubySky's photography and style, we immediately knew we wanted to work with Keesha and her team. From our first on-site visit leading up to the wedding weekend, Keesha was always very accommodating, patient, flexible and a true pleasure to work with. When it came to capturing all of the images during our wedding weekend, Keesha and her team worked around our ever moving schedules without any complaints, and suggested some really cool ideas for our bridal portraits as well as bridal party and family pictures. And best of all, she and her team managed to quietly blend into the background without obstructing anyones view of the ceremony, and still managed to capture all key moments -- that to us was the mark of a successful photographer.
With photography being one of the most important elements to our wedding, we couldn't wait to see how the photos turned out, and we were so thrillled!! Keesha did a wonderful job of honing in on the details, capturing great candid moments and brought out the beauty of surroundings with the subjects in each of our photos. This review is long overdue from our June 2015 wedding. Keesha and her team at RubySky were absolutely wonderful for both my bridal portraits and our wedding. Keesha is an artist with an eye for interesting settings and light, and is great about being flexible and figuring things out on the fly if (like me) you have a vague idea what you want but have difficulty articulating it. Our photos are beautiful and perfectly captured the day.

I could go on and on, but it would all be variations of this: RubySky provides stunning photos and professional, accommodating service. Keesha clearly loves what she does, and will deliver photos that are fun, unique, and truly feel like you. I loved working with her, and I adore our photos.

I promise you have found the wedding photographer of your dreams!! My husband and I are so grateful to have had RubySky shoot our elopement. Keesha just has a way of capturing the most beautiful part of you in a moment. She made me feel at ease and so beautiful in front of the camera (not an easy feat for me). Having eloped, we were so stressed about having unbelievable pictures to share with all our loved ones who weren't there - we wanted them to look at our wedding photos and feel they shared a little bit of our wedding day with us. RubySky made that possible for our family and more! We tried to hold our family close during our elopement by incorporating clothing and jewelry that belonged to them - the photos RubySky took of these items are incredible. I can't look at these photos without welling up with tears and neither can our family. Keesha captured every delicate moment & intricate detail so beautifully. My family was blown away and can't stop commenting on how unreal our photos are. We too look back and can't believe these pictures were really of us on our day! Keesha was extremely easy to work with, my husband and I don't live in the state where we got married so the majority of our planning had to be done through email or through phone which ended up being no problem at all. Keesha was very responsive and willing to work with us to capture our day exactly how we wanted it. Her assistant was great as well and the two of them were so unobtrusive which is exactly how we wanted it.
Our photos are so stunning and its been so much fun being able to relive the night through them. Im so glad she had an opening for our date because im really not sure if any other photographer would have been able to capture the funk and 20's glam of our wedding quite like RubySky did.

Keesha with RubySky Photography is complete joy to work with, and she is SO sweet! She is very talented and does a great job. Photography was something that was very important to me for my big day, and having seen Keesha in action multiple times at previous weddings (and having worked with her as a peer vendor at several weddings), I knew there was no other choice for me! The pictures are GORGEOUS and captured our day perfectly. We wanted a photographer that would capture us, and Keesha did a great job of that!! WE LOVED KEESHA AND RUBYSKYPHOTOGRAPHY!
We met Keesha back in January, when she drove over an hour just to meet with us to discuss our taste and get a feel for what we wanted in a photographer. We spent two hours talking with her and chatting about all of our details and what kind of people we were in hopes that she would really "capture us" on our day.

We found her prices to be considerably lower than her competitors and thought her photographs were actually BETTER. We kind of feel like we stole them...

Our package included engagement photos, which we were thinking about not getting. We are so glad that we did, they came out incredible and really encapsulated who we are as a couple and what we love about her talent. It was also great to work with her for a few hours before the big day, just to get to know her better. Keesha always made a huge effort to go above and beyond our expectations.

The outcome? We have the MOST BEAUTIFUL wedding photos that any couple would be proud to show everyone. Each moment is captured with an eye for sincerity and beauty. We couldn't say more about the product, the service and Keesha herself. I have such a girl crush on Keesha! She is so awesome! I am not the most photogenic person around - I am the queen of weird expressions caught on camera - but she put me at ease immediately. We had so much fun with different poses, locations, and props. We giggled a lot, and everyone agrees that she was really a fun part of the getting ready process and celebration.

But beyond the fact that she is someone I could see myself enjoying a glass of wine with on a patio somewhere, Keesha is a true artist. As you can see from her website, Keesha has a great eye for light, color, and composition. She captures moments and emotions. Her style is just so delightfully unique!

I'd also like to add that Rebekah, Keesha's second photographer, was a delight as well. She spent the most time with the men, but the time I did spend with her was great!

Choosing RubySky as our photographer was hands down one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning process. Keesha and her team are amazing at what they do and we are SO extremely happy with how our engagement and wedding pictures turned out!

When starting our search for a photographer, we knew we wanted someone who came highly recommended, who was reasonably priced and who had a unique and artistic style. RubySky was ALL of that and more! From our first meeting with Keesha, we knew that she was going to be very professional and reliable - and guess what, we were right! On the day of our wedding, Keesha and her assistant were already at our venue, cameras in hand and ready to go! They were so sweet and friendly throughout the night and captured all the little details and events that flew by so fast. I never felt like I needed to worry about where they were at and if they were capturing the moment - they were! Also, we really appreciated that they were kind enough to stay later than planned in order to capture our sparkler exit (which was a last minute decision that I had forgotten to tell them about beforehand!).

The only thing I would say to keep in mind is that it does take about 6-8 weeks to get your proofs, which is longer than most - but let me tell you, it is SO worth the wait!

Overall, if you want a stress-free experience (at least where photos are concerned) and know that you will be getting professional service and unbelievable photos, choose RubySky Photography!

My husband and I cannot praise RubySky, and Keesha in particular, enough for the excellent job they did helping to preserve our wedding memories. From the very first time we met her all the way through receipt of our proofs and copies of our photos, Keesha was friendly, flexible, communicative, and wonderful to work with. She struck the perfect balance of professional and warm/funny, and because my husband and I were both utterly clueless as to how a wedding should actually proceed, her help in creating a schedule for the evening was indispensable to us and everyone involved with the event. We also benefited from Keesha's artistic sensibilities and wonderful eye for unusual details. We chose to hire RubySky in great part because of Keesha's artistic mission statement and the photographic evidence of her skill and unique taste, and we were thrilled with the results. The photographs we received are gorgeous and rich, and capture things we ourselves could never have thought to ask for.

The way Keesha and her colleague worked during our wedding was also perfect. They were unobtrusive--almost invisible, really--when they needed to be (while still capturing interesting and moving moments), and were very attentive during the noncandid group photos (such as the first look, the wedding party photographs, and the family portraits). They directed large numbers of distracted people very skillfully and laughed with us when things got silly.

All in all, we feel that RubySky helped make our wedding even more special. The photographers were excellent in every way throughout the evening, the photographs are stunning and artful, and the prices were more than fair. We would hire RubySky again in a heartbeat, and wholeheartedly recommend RubySky to anyone looking to create beautiful memories.

If I could give Ruby Sky Photography 10 stars, I would! Keesha, the photographer, has a truly unique style and a rare ability to take pictures that are both technically superb AND whimsical at the same time! "Vintage" and "Rustic" brides who are a little outside the box will particularly love her work, but I bet that Keesha could make a regular old hotel event room look like a magical fairyland, LOL!

Keesha was 100% professional throughout the process. Before even booking with her, she came to meet my groom and I and to see our wedding space to get a better idea of who were as a couple and what we were looking for in our photography. From there on out, everything went without a hitch. Keesha was timely in her correspondence and patient with all my "bride questions". The payment process was easy (a deposit to secure our date and the final amount due on the day of the wedding). On the wedding day itself, she and her assistant arrived on time and made the most of every minute they had. They were friendly, positive, and FLEXIBLE, which I really appreciated because the morning of my wedding got a little chaotic. Also, most of the time I wasn't even aware that Keesha and her assistant were taking pictures. They were totally discreet as they worked and never distracted from what was happening.

It does take a little while to get your proofs- about 6 weeks- but it's totally worth the wait. All of the pictures Keesha sent to us were lovely, but there were probably 25 that were catch-your-breath-do-a-double-take magical. Seriously, my husband and I cried when we saw them!

In terms of price, I think that Ruby Sky Photography is a STEAL. I mean, I saw photographers who charged two and three times as much and weren't NEARLY as good. Keesha is a pro, no doubt, but she's also wonderfully creative and I can't recommend her enough. BOOK RUBY SKY NOW!!! :D

Ruby Sky has one of the most perceptive styles of photography that I have ever seen. To start with, they were not only very professional in regard to the time they took to get the more candid shots during our wedding day, (posing with family and friends) but they were also not the least bit intrusive in the ceremony or the reception. We knew they were there doing their work, but always on the periphery, takes pictures of everything from the people and their interactions, to the more sentimental objects and "flavor" that coincides with that special day. (flowers, food, dress, etc.) After witnessing their process, I was overwhelmed by how easily they captured the resulting images, which were both strikingly beautiful at first glance, as well as deeply contemplative over a period of time. Keesha's style of pulling up rich colors that coincide with the shimmering light that is so often reflected with the white dress and full smiles that happen on your wedding day is brilliant. The pictures were more than a catalogue of the event, but a representation of the tone and euphoric feelings of one of the most important events in our lives. We highly recommend Ruby Sky Photography.

Keesha and the RubySky team provided a fantastic service with great value. We absolutely LOVED having RubySky photograph our wedding and have already highly recommended them to family and friends getting married in the coming year! We were married in Staunton, VA at Barren Ridge Vineyards but were planning our wedding from Charlotte, NC where we currently live. Keesha (the owner) was so flexible, attentive, helpful and accommodating when it came to making arrangements for the wedding as we were out of town.

During the wedding Keesha and her assistant (Katie) took pictures non-stop and were so flexible and laid back with us. They were open to any suggestions but had wonderful suggestions of their own, which took all of the stress off of our shoulders! I knew they had everything under control. They were also so fun and friendly and we actually wished that they could have just put their cameras down and joined in the celebration! We definitely had a connection with them and they contributed to our great memories of that day just by being there with us.

Overall they were so wonderful and we couldn't have been more pleased with the pictures! Just take a look at the samples on their website...I don't have to say anything more about the quality and creativity of their photographs since they speak for themselves!

I can not recommend RubySky Photography enough! The photographer was one of the most important factors of my wedding - if not an even tie with dress and venue! There are so many "packaged" wedding photography options out there; nothing wrong with it, but for me, that wasn't what I wanted. I had my criteria: artistic, photo journalistic, vintage quality, unique, etc. Keisha and her team delivered!

Keisha was extremely responsive via email and was always willing to talk or meet if needed. She was wonderful with providing advice on a "first look" - my husband and I were very hesitant about seeing each other before the ceremony; we were worried about not having that "wow moment", but Keisha was great with offering guidance and advice. In the end, we went with the "first look" and couldn't have been happier!

About a week or so after the wedding, we received a note from Keisha with our Sneak Peek on the RubySky blog - what a great treat to see a few photos so close to the wedding! About a month or so later, we received our completed proofs and online portfolio right on time as stated. Our photos are works of art... Friends who were at the wedding have been raving about the photography - they keep pointing out moments that reminded them how much fun they had at the wedding. For me, that's wonderful photography when a photograph sparks a memory.

After tons of research, I found Keisha's value to be one of the best out there! Reasonable pricing, stunning photography, professional - what more do you need? I couldn't have asked for a better photographer and if I could do it all again, RubySky Photography would be there with us!

Keesha made my husband and I feel completely comfortable as we took pictures together. She gave us guidance while still allowing us to be natural together. I was constantly reassured by her feedback throughout the day that she was getting wonderful shots. She checked in with me a couple times throughout the reception to see if there were any group pictures I wanted and was always available if an impromptu picture came about.

Since I have received my proofs I have had nothing but positive feedback from family and friends. They all loved the black and white photographs and Keesha's ability to capture some very intimate moments with such grace.

Keesha and Katie were amazing! We had some special circumstances at our wedding and they dealt with them wonderfully! They both were extremely professional and yet so sweet the entire time. During the reception we hardly even noticed them, they were not intrusive in any way. And the pictures did not reflect that at all. When we got the proofs back, they captured everything! Nothing was missed. They even managed to catch my husband smiling, even though he hates to smile in pictures! Keesha stuck by me the entire time I was getting ready, yet she fit in like on of the girls. She was so amazing during the entire process! My only advice to future brides is beware, you will be amazed by the pictures so make sure you buy more than you think you could possibly want. Believe me you will want them all! She has been a blessing to work with!

I highly recommend the services of RubySky Photography. From the very first time I contacted her, Keesha was so kind, professional, and helpful. It may seem silly, but it really adds to your experience when your vendors express enthusiasm about your wedding and make you feel like it is more than just another event to them. Keesha was really great about that, and that made her such a pleasure to work with.

As for the photographs, I have already gotten so many compliments on how beautiful and creative they are. I also really love how much variety there is--there are pictures of my husband and me in a vineyard, in the woods, on a split rail fence, and (from our day after session), in downtown Staunton, in a field, in front of some great buildings, etc.

Being an extremely Type A person, I also really appreciated how efficiently Keesha and Katie were able to finish all the posed shots with all our family members so we could get to the party. I realized later that I barely noticed them at the reception, which speaks to how well they were able to capture the night without interfering in the flow of the event. And even though I am not particularly girly and was a little apprehensive about my ability to both pull off wearing a wedding dress for that long as well as look "model-esque" for all these pictures, Keesha was great at making me feel at ease and giving direction.

Our pictures came back on time as promised, just as we'd asked for them, and perfectly edited. Keesha was very flexible in terms of helping us develop the package we needed and the value for cost was really unbelievable.

I had first heard of RubySky Photography when my husband and I went to a wedding show in Staunton. Honestly, I saw Keesha's photos and a whole room of other wedding photographers and I could tell the difference from 10 feet away. Their photos are unmistakably unique, vivid and absolutely stunning.

I love RubySky's style of photography (which I'd consider to be more photojournalistic). That's what originally drew me to them. After meeting Keesha and Katie in person, they were wonderful to work with; professional, talented, kind, and fun! I didn't get the chance to meet Keesha before the wedding so we met the day of the wedding, which made me a bit nervous beforehand. But I had nothing to be nervous about, they knew exactly what they were doing. They were even willing to travel a couple hours to my wedding site at no additional charge. They did an amazing job of being present at the most important moments of my wedding and I have the pictures to prove it. I would recommend them to anyone, they are an incredible value and truly gifted artists.

Keesha and Katie were amazing! They did such a good job of making me feel comfortable and getting everyone to smile a "genuine" smile. They really work with you and your bridal party to capture your personalities. A lot of the time I had no clue they were taking pictures! They were also able to capture so many moments that I thought I had missed! They really were everywhere!!! I truly appreciated having 2 photographers at the wedding. It really pays off when you see that they captured 2 angles of your "wedding kiss." Even my groomsmen enjoyed getting their pictures taken and I really believe that that has to do with the fact that Keesha and Katie are so patient and do not Bark at you to stand still. They allow you to be yourself. If you have children in your group I highly recommend Ruby Sky, they are WONDERFUL with kids. They were able to time their photographs just right to actually get a smile! The cost is very reasonable, especially for what you get. And I will be looking to Ruby Sky Photography for all my future photograph needs.

RubySky Photography did an amazing job! Keesha and Katie were very both very easy to work with. I went with RubySky for our Engagement, Bridals and Wedding Day! They do wonderful work and were everywhere on our wedding day taking shots that you wouldn't have known were taken. We were very happy with RubySky they are everything they say their work is and so much more! Words can't describe the happiness the photos have brought Jeremy and I and we know we'll have so many wonderful memories for years to come.

Keesha and Katie are amazing. They did an excellent job with every aspect of our wedding. Keesha took our engagement pictures and her and Katie both took our wedding pictures. They are professional, friendly,and extremely creative. We could not ask for better results. We are planning to use RubySky whenever we have our first child!

A lot of brides (and grooms) worry about how their wedding pictures will look and whether all of the special moments will be captured. With RubySky Photography, there are simply no worries. When Greg and I met with Keesha at a break during Snowmaggedon to discuss photography services, she took the time to figure out who we were as a couple, what brought us together, and what we were looking for in terms of documenting our special day. The meeting was truly personal - how we met, what kinds of things we liked, instead of some formulaic questionnaire. It was wonderful talking with her - she put us at ease and answered all of our questions. Fast forward six months to our wedding. Keesha and Katie made our day so much fun. I'm not really photogenic and even I felt beautiful when they were taking our pictures. Every moment - from the time Greg and I were getting ready to the last dance of the evening - was captured. We have since received our proof book and it's almost like going back in time to our special day - I look at our pictures and I remember how happy and wonderful I felt. I could not have had a better experience with wedding photography. I urge any bride (or groom) reading this to make an appointment with RubySky - you'll be so glad that you did.

RubySky shot our May 1, 2010 wedding in Richmond, VA, and all of the photos are so spectacular! We absolutely love the candid shots of us throughout the day, and seeing all the photos of our friends and family members having fun at our reception make us so happy.

They were everywhere at once it seemed, and they were so friendly and they were so subtle in taking so many photos! The candids are fantastic and so vibrant, they really captured perfect moments, and the portraits make us smile too -- again, everything was just fantastic.

We were given tons of options and they're very flexible with their package options. We ended up having three photographer there, which was an added happy surprise.

My family is definitely camera-shy, and some of us tend to mug for the camera, and RubySky was so fantastic in getting great shots of everyone, both candid and posed. They chatted and laughed with us, and were just so pleasant to work with, and they made us feel right at ease! We would highly, highly, highly recommend RubySky!

RubySky is very professional. You will never have to wait for a response or worry them not understanding what you want because they ask you the right questions. The prices are extremely reasonable and there are no hidden costs- the packaging are very comprehensable. RubySky is very respectful of church photography rules but yet somehow manage to get every shot you want! Everytihng that you forgot to look at your wedding or can't remember, RubySky captures. I literally re-live my wedding (and get teary-eyed) when I look at the pictures. What is also great about them is that you get your pictures back so fastly after the wedding- many photographers you have to wait months and months (sometimes a half a year). There are so many things going on while planning your wedding and if you get RubySky that is one less thing you have to worry about- they take care of everything!

I'm the groom and not really much for words when it comes to wedding planning, but I will say that Keesha was amazing and exactly what I wanted. I had only a few rules when it came to picking out a photographer:

1. No stupid, cheezy poses
2. Capture the action of the moment and not put us in these endless stationary, planned poses
3. Capture the moments I won't be able to see

Keesha met and exceeded my simple expectations. She was incredibly nice, easy to work with, subtle in her approach and went out of her way to acommodate her clients. I trusted her eye and photographic judgement and wasn't disappointed. The pictures were fantastic.

I'll leave the other details for my sweet wife to fill in with her review. In short, she provided an excellent end product and was worth every penny. Hire her!

We are so happy that we hired Keesha to photograph our wedding as well as our engagement photos. Her work is absolutely stunning, and working with her was a total breeze. My husband is often quite camera shy but she had him at ease within minutes of starting our engagement shoot! We were incredibly impressed with her ability to pose us naturally (we are not innately photogenic people!). Keesha was totally willing to drive to several different locations, including going on a quest to find ducks - my husband's one engagement shoot request.

Leading up to the wedding, Keesha answered all our questions in a very timely manner and was super helpful in coming up with a photography list and timeline. In all the anxiety of wedding planning, we didn't once have a doubt in her!

On our wedding day, Keesha and her wonderful assistant showed up right on time and got right to work. They were friendly, lighthearted, and incredibly helpful, even having our timeline and photo list printed out and on hand. They were completely unobtrusive during intimate moments like our first look and we didn't notice them at all during the ceremony. I can't believe how quickly Keesha was able to wrangle our crazy bridal party and huge families into group photos! She had lots of suggestions for great photo locations and poses, and was also willing to do many of our requests.

Most importantly, we received our finished photos in a timely manner and they are just .... amazing. Her love for what she does truly shines through the finished product. She caught so many beautiful, happy moments throughout our wedding ceremony and celebration. I don't think I will ever get tired of looking through them and remembering the happiest day of our lives. We can't recommend RubySky highly enough!

Ruby Sky was wonderful to work with. The pictures turned out beautifully. They are much more reasonably priced than other photographers in the Charlottesville area but offer the same level of professionalism and expertise - my pictures look as good if not better than friends' wedding pictures that paid much more. Highly recommended.

I was very picky about choosing a photographer. To us, photography was to be one of the most important aspects of the wedding as we wanted something that would allow us to treasure our special day for years to come. Although we spent more on photography than what we were hoping to spend, RubySky was actually comparable to or even cheaper than many other vendors that we considered.
We met with Keesha and found her to be very friendly, down-to-earth, and professional; but most of all, we LOVED her work. We chose a package that included engagement and wedding day photo's. She did such a good job on both! We have received sooo many compliments and truly feel that we have a whole collection of photo's that we will forever cherish and be able to share with friends and family for years to come. Her work is art and I cannot speak enough to her talents. She is also super friendly and sweet and by the time the wedding was over, we both felt as if we'd become friends with her.
Our only complaint whatsoever would be that she wasn't always quick to respond to emails. We didn't send that many, but in the couple of times that we did, it generally took several days (or even up to a week) to get a response.
Still, we highly recommend RubySky Photography without any hesitation and plan to use her photography services again someday when we hopefully have children!

We had a destination wedding in Williamsburg, VA, and didn't know where to start with photographers. Fortunately, we discovered RubySky Photography via the web and really liked their style and sense of fun.
They were willing to travel and we had a great time posing for them the entire day. The composed vignettes and the candid shots are some of our favorites, which is a testament to what Keesha was able to add to our perfect day.

Keesha was fantastic to work with! She provided me with several unique options for my bridal shoot and captured all of the special moments during our wedding. We received hundreds of great quality photos!! The only downfall that I see to booking this photographer is the lag time between portraits/wedding and receiving the photos.
