Royal Violins was perfect for our wedding ceremony

We had a fantastic experience with Royal Violins at our wedding! They traveled a long distance and even learned original music for the ceremony, which made our wedding feel truly special. During the cocktail hour, the quartet entertained our guests with a wonderful mix of classical and pop music. Not only were they incredibly talented and professional, but they were also affordable. We highly recommend Royal Violins for any event!

Amazing ceremony music

Fun, modern sound

When I saw Steve perform at a friend’s wedding, I knew I had to have him play at mine. He’s part of a guitar and violin duo with his daughter Anastasia, an accomplished violinist, and I feel that they provide more of a fun, dynamic and modern sound than what you would get from a harp or string quartet. He’s a nice, laid-back guy, very responsive, offered the feedback we needed, and did an amazing job playing at our wedding. I absolutely loved their sound and their work together and it was the perfect backdrop to our ceremony!

Fabulous Ceremony and Cocktail Hour

We are so glad that we booked Stephen and Ana for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Prior to the wedding date we had a few calls with Stephen and it was clear that we were on the same page re: music style and choices. They were both very friendly, professional, and easy to work with. They showed up on time (even early I think) to set up and seamlessly transitioned from the ceremony site to the cocktail hour in a different location. They are both very talented performers. They played a good mix of classics and fun rock adaptations. Two of our favorite moments were when they played "Here Comes to Sun" for our processional and "Best Day of My Life" for our recessional. Most importantly our guests loved them! Several of our guests were dancing during cocktail hour! Thank you Royal Strings!

Definitely hire the Royal Strings for your wedding!

My husband and I hired the Royal Strings for our wedding in September of 2018. Definitely hire them for your ceremony and cocktail hour! They can play a variety of songs from the classics to modern hits. I chose a non-traditional song to walk down the aisle to and they nailed it. I can’t thank them enough! As an added bonus, we were pleasantly surprised with the price. They are very affordable. I would recommend the Royal Strings to anyone for their special day.

Stephen and Ana performed at our corporate holiday party on 12/14/17. They were absolutely professional in every way and just a perfect compliment to our festivities. The playlist was extensive and pleasing to all. We had an intimate setting and their music added the perfect touch to the ambience. In fact, we asked them to stay longer since everyone was having such a good time, and they were able to accommodate us. Five stars! Would love to use them again for any type of event.

Steve and the Royal Strings were amazing! Steve was super responsive when first booking and readily available for any questions that I had over the course of the last year. Everyone at our wedding was raving about them, the music selection they played and the ambiance they brought to our ceremony and cocktail hour. I wish I had another wedding to hire them for!

Our event was a business function for about 50 clients. Steve and his partner arrived and set up on time. A beautiful and successful event was made even better with the inclusion of these two talented musicians. We seek to hire them again for our next function come Feb 2018. Steve was very responsive to our emails back and forth and everything went off without a hitch.

Steve and his team at Royal Strings were amazing! I had asked them to play a Spanish Lullaby that my mother sang to me as a child while I walked down the aisle. All I had was a youtube video of the song to go off of - Steve said not a problem at all, don't worry, we will make it happen. And did he ever :) They sounded amazing and so classy. I have friends and family all raving about them still. I can not thank them enough for helping to make my special day that much more perfect.

I met Steve at my cousins wedding a few years ago and knew that I had to have him play for my big day! We hired him and his violinist to play at our church ceremony and cocktail hour. I requested a special song for my processional down the aisle and Steve learned it no problem. Our guests have not stopped raving about how fabulous the Royal Strings were! Their music selection is so vast that it appeals to everyone! I highly recommend the Royal Strings to anyone who is looking for a professional, talented group that are passionate about what they do. They truly add such a special element to your day!

Royal Strings was amazing. We hired them to play for our ceremony and reception. Throughout the day, everyone said to me how wonderful the music was. The guests loved listening to the classic rock on the strings, and then when it was dance time, Steve DJ'd a bit for us. I would recommend them to everyone!

The live music during the ceremony was PERFECT, Steve & Carol played their music (guitar/violin) during the cocktail hour, then while we did introductions, Carol played the violin in conjunction with the song Steve played while the bridal party was introduced, and then while my husband & I did our first dance, she played the violin. Very nice touches!!! We had the usual complaints from our guests that the music was too loud or too quiet, Steve accommodated all of the requests with no problems. We had a special request for my dance with my father, we asked Steve to read a blurb while the intro of the song was playing & then fade into another song & he accommodated our request with no hesitation. He is very easy to work with, very personable & I would highly recommend him.

My husband and I used Royal Strings for all the music at our wedding- including ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, and we were highly impressed and happy with them!

For the ceremony, the string duo play a variety of introductory/prelude tunes. They also learned a special song for the processional, which made my walk down the aisle very memorable. At cocktail hour, they played a variety of more modern and fun tunes. The one we got the most comments on was the "Game of Thrones" theme song. During the first part of the meal service, they started with more songs on strings and eventually switched to a DJ set of romantic classics and top 40 for dancing.

Steve was wonderful to work with before and during the wedding, from finalizing the playlists to taking DJ requests at the event. He was very responsive through emails and also available to talk to by phone. Steve has a laid-back and easygoing personality, but was a consummate professional. His partner on violin was also very pleasant and accomplished. Their experience and polish really comes across in their presentation and set a great tone for the wedding.

Royal Strings are a great value for their quality, and we consider ourselves extremely lucky to have had them as part of our wedding!

We just held a small wedding of 60 guests in a small but delicate vineyard at very east side of Long Island NY. The Royal Strings performed beautiful “Canon in D” and 2 customized songs for our outdoor ceremony and numerous euphonious and elegant songs for the subsequent reception. We highly recommend the Royal Strings to anyone who is in need of live string music.
Responsiveness. Since we wanted to add some Chinese traditional elements into our wedding, we asked Steve and his partner to prepare 2 Chinese traditional songs for the ceremony use, and they picked them up very quickly and did capture the feelings we’d like to have. And, they coordinated perfectly with the officiant and the groomsmen during the entire event.
Professionalism. They are punctual, clever, experienced, skillful and easy-going. They know how important to us this day is and they gave their best efforts to help cover all the uncovered and let our wedding proceed more smoothly and better. Also there is no doubt on their talent and expertise.
Flexibility and Kindness. We booked their service for 4 hours from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Initially we’ve planned to play online music via iPad as background music instead of live music after the band left. However, maybe because our guests like the Royal Strings’ music so badly and our band were also enjoying performing under the beautiful full moon, without complaint or even notice, they extended their amazing performing to make all of us more than happy until the event perfectly ended. If possible, we really would like to compensate them for the additional happiness they brought to us.
Good Value. To be honest, the price was not low to us for a duet. But we are glad we chose them and will never regret every penny we spent on their service.
Seriously, if you ask me: “the mostly, what thing do you want to improve if you could jump back to that night?” Maybe I would say: “we have to take pictures with our band.” Yes! We missed it! Remorseful!

Royal Strings was wonderful and I fully recommend them to any bride and groom! Throughout the planning process, Steve is accommodating and patient, and brings wisdom from an incredible amount of experience in the field. Guests loved the live violin - guitar instrumentals during the cocktail hour and live accompaniment to popular songs on the dance floor. The best part for me was our first dance. My husband and I made a decision on the song just a day before the wedding and dancing is not our strength - Royal Strings learned the song and adjusted the tempo to make it an easy and romantic song to dance to. Everyone having so much fun dancing at the wedding that Steve and his partner graciously extended their service for an hour when we didn't want the party to end!

Steve and Ana performed the ceremony music for our wedding on 3/21/15. They were awesome every step of the way. Cost was inexpensive and they played every song we requested with no problem! Steve was even able to play Zac Brown: Jump Right In, as we exited the ceremony! They made our wedding ceremony even better by being there. All our friends and family commented on how great they sounded. Easy hire for any wedding.

Royal Strings drove over an hour to play music for our ceremony and cocktail hour. They arrived early with all the necessary equipment (we just had to provide an extension cord). We had an outdoor farm wedding, and they were a spectacular addition. They had no problem playing songs we requested that weren't on their list of hundreds of songs, and the music was wonderful. Highly recommend their services.

The music provided by Royal Strings was the best element of my ceremony and perhaps my wedding! We had a terrible experience with the musicians we originally booked - who canceled on us randomly months before the wedding. We found Royal Strings via WeddingWire and became obsessed with their wide selection ranging from classic rock to classical.

It was a pleasure to work with Steve and he played everything perfectly during our ceremony, as discussed. Our guests LOVED the music as they waited for the ceremony to start - I mean, who doesn't want to hear Bon Jovi & Led Zep. on a violin while they wait for a wedding to start? This was seriously one of the best things we opted to pay for because it set the mood of our ceremony and made it incredibly personal. I would recommend them for any event - any day!

Steve was great! He traveled from New Jersey to Long Island for us!! He was very responsive to all e-mails I sent him and he even learned the song that we wanted for our recessional. He and his partner (Anna) were there early and all set up. They played the songs wonderfully and it sounded so beautiful. Walking down the aisle to their music was amazing. They also played during our cocktail hour and I kept getting compliments on their music, people were asking where I found them!! They sounded great and I would definitely recommend Royal Strings to anyone! Very professional and really great sound!

Royal Strings did their utmost to ensure our day was the joyful happening we had anticipated... and it was! When the doors opened and I began my walk down the aisle listening to them play K'Shoshana... my heart swelled.... it was just so right. Steve answered each email seemingly instantly and worked with us every step of the way. The compliments we received on their skills, particularly in having the violinist stay to play along with the Genesis song we had picked for our first dance, were overwhelming - it was a magical moment (one of many) for us.

Steve and his partner Alex played at my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour; they sounded amazing and they really set the ambiance for the night! I got married at Waterside Catering on a rainy day, however a double rainbow came out over the Hudson River, and they started playing an impromptu Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It was so special and the very first thing my guests mentioned to me. They were outstanding, fun, performed a mix of songs, and the guests are still raving about how good they were!! Steve was easy to deal with, was prompt in responding, and learned to play a song I requested with only a few weeks notice. I highly recommend them!

I spoke to Steve via email and phone several times before my wedding (4/19/14.) He was super attentive and helped me plan the perfect songs to play during my wedding ceremony - a mix of classical and modern. The wedding was held outdoors in the courtyard of the Olde Mill Inn. The setting was beautiful, and Steve's duo of guitar and violin just added to the beauty of the space. The minute I heard the music playing for my wedding party's entrance I started getting emotional, it just sounded so beautiful! Everyone commented on how wonderfully Royal Strings set the scene for our ceremony. They were fantastic and very affordable!

Royal Strings did an amazing job during my wedding ceremony, playing all kind of music and special requests from classic, 80s and even modern songs. The violin and guitar duo was outstanding and all my guests were fascinated by the quality of the performance. If we didn't have them at our wedding it would have never been the same. Amazing. Extraordinary. Simply the best. Steve and his partner at Royal Strings made my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour simply magical. Throughout the planning process Steve was friendly, prompt, and easily learned songs that we wanted tailored to our ceremony. The quality of the sound was only surpassed by the integrity of the music itself. There wasn't a dry eye in the house during our wedding and much of that has to do with how Royal Strings set an ambiance for love, romance, and happiness. My guests were equal parts excited and surprised by hearing such tunes as Gangster's Paradise, Hey Ya, Blurred Lines, and the Game of Thrones Theme Song at our wedding. I promise you they are the best in the business, and if I could give them more stars I would. Book Royal Strings and you'll know exactly why I'm still smiling ear to ear days after my wedding :)

I would recommend Royal Strings very highly. Prior to the event, Steve was very quick to respond to my inquiries. We had requested a song that they hadn't played previously, but was willing to learn, and it was exactly what we wanted! They are awesome! So many of our guests commented on how well they played.

My wife and I first learned of Royal Strings at her brother's wedding this past March & immediately knew we would be booking them for our wedding. When we heard the guitar and violin duo, we both knew it was the exact sound we had been envisioning for our day.

In the months leading up to our wedding, Royal Strings was quick to respond to our questions and always willing to accommodate any requests we had (we requested 3 songs for our ceremony that were not on their song list and they were able to play all 3 perfectly!!!).

We could not have been happier with our experiences and would gladly (and confidently) recommend Royal Strings to friends.

Royal Strings played our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. They were incredible. Our guests were talking about them the whole night. Steve was great to work with and very responsive. He helped us put together a great playlist and everything turned out better than we hoped. I would recommend to anyone.

The Royalstrings Duo Classical/Jazz played at my daughter's wedding a couple of weeks ago and we were just delighted with them. When I hired them I hoped they would be as good as their audio sounded and indeed they were! Very professional in manner and dress, they were just what I wanted for a beautiful ceremony accompaniment for my daughter's wedding. They played through the cocktail hour and so many people commented about how lovely the music was and how it enhanced the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. We hired Royal Strings to play for our short ceremony and our cocktail hour because I really wanted some live music at our wedding. We never met with another musician after we met Steve from Royal Strings because we KNEW they were perfect for us. They were kind enough to learn 2 songs at my request for the ceremony and they sounded great! I would have to say that Royal Strings was the best decision we made for the wedding day because it's the vendor we received the most compliments about. Our guests are still raving about the ceremony & cocktail hour music. Specifically, I heard people compliment their renditions of "Sweet Child O Mine" and "Kashmir". I had friends ask for their business card because they want to hire them in the future. I actually cannot wait to have a reason to hire them again myself! This was money extremely well spent and I'm so so glad that we found them.

Hiring Royal Strings for our wedding (ceremony and cocktail music) was one of the best decisions we made during the planning process. The combination of the violin and acoustic guitar was beautiful and classy, but the music they played was SO much fun! They played everything from classical music before the ceremony to movie themes to classic rock and everything in between. Our guests were having a great time listening - it was so much fun to watch it "click" when they heard something unexpected (like Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir" or the Game of Thrones theme song)!

The music was truly incredible - and so personal! It really made our day special. I would recommend Steve and Royal Strings to anyone looking to have a classy but fun event.

I just got married on June 30, 2012. We got married in the gardens at the Tides Estate and we needed music. Royal Strings came highly recommended by a friend so I decided to give them a call. That was probably the best decided I ever made! After speaking with Steve we decided to book him for the ceremony and cocktail hour. The music was exceptional and everyone loved it! We got so many compliments about them. We had the traditional wedding songs but the cocktail hour was totally different. One friend was so excited that they were playing Metallica while the person sitting next to them was saying how beautiful the music sounded. I remember walking into my cocktail hour and them plating Journey- Stop Believing. It was such a pleasure having them at our wedding! Thanks Steve you two were great!!!!

These guys are amazing! They played for my ceremony and cocktail hour but I wished I had hired them for the entire event! Their music selection was the perfect variety and they played every song so beautifully. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Quality and well trained musicians. The live music during the ceremony was perfect. It was all about us, very thoughtful of our needs, the variety of cultural background of most of our VIP guest, and our taste.

Steve did a great job as MC during the reception hours and used his experience to keep the dance floor hopping until the very last minutes of the reception. Even the most critical of my guests, who did not think that the music selection would be balanced had to concede that they had a good time.

The kids never got off the dance floor, a party they will remember their entire lives, the night Auntie Daphne got married!!!!

I got so many compliments on the music provided by Royal Strings. They provided the music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. In addition, they even act as emcees announcing you and the dances. We had a relaxed wedding brunch and the music really set the tone. They use a guitar and violin to arrange classics, Jewish songs, and modern music. Only with this duo could I have had guns n' roses, Metallica, the Beatles, and Moon River, while also keeping my Nana happy.
Royal Strings was a breeze to work with. I checked off songs on their song list and then I came up with songs I wanted them to arrange and they did their best to accommodate that. Royal Strings was a good value and worth every penny. In fact, they could probably charge more and get it!

I never got to actually meet Steve in person, we just exchanged emails and a couple phone calls and then on our big day we heard the music and were blown away. Steve is very responsive and can accomodate any special requests.
We really didnt want the standard boring ceremony music. We wanted new contemporary music played on the violin and guitar that added a unique element to an already unique ceremony. We had people coming up to us all night at our wedding saying....was that Guns N Roses November Rain that played as you walked out of your ceremony!? Awesome! Yes indeed, it was.
We were so pleased with Royal Strings performance and added a truly unique element to our big day. Thank you again!

Steve and his partner were fabulous! Steve answered emails almost immediately and was very professional. He was able to accommodate all 3 of our special song requests without any problems. We decided to have them start early for 45 min before the ceremony started to keep our guests entertained and it was worth every penny!

I knew I wanted live ceremony music for the ceremony but had a hard time deciding if I wanted something more traditional...harps and violins or something a little different. I spent a long time searching through websites and reviews. Over these few months I always came back to Royal Strings. I loved the blend of violin and guitar. It was is so romantic and haunting. I married into a very musical family with tons of musicians...piano players and teachers, drummers, bass players, even a spectacular trumpet player and they ALL commented on the quality of sound and expertise of the Royal Strings duo. I can't wait to see my wedding video so I can appreciate everything I did not get a chance to hear. They even learned a song we wanted played during our pre-service. If you are considering live music for your ceremony definitely go with Royal Strings. They are truly talented and professional musicians that will put a special touch on your big day.

Royal Strings is an amazingly talented duo. They helped to make our wedding ceremony so incredibly special and unique. From start to finish working with Steve was effortless. He was always quick to answer questions and alleviate concerns. The hardest part was deciding on the song selection, as I don't think there's anything Royal Strings can't play. We went with a rock / pop mix for the pre-ceremony music, and I walked down the aisle to Here Comes the Sun. The recessional was Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit, which sounded AMAZING on violin and guitar. Our guests were wowed, and Royal Strings set the tone for a fantastic event. Matt and I just got married on Sept 30, 2011. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Royal Strings! I used to be an event planner so I understand the importance of vendor-client relationships. Steve was fantastic from the start. He was extremely responsive, had many ideas, and was enthusiastic throughout the entire process. He covers such a wide range of songs. Royal Strings played for our ceremony and cocktail hour and our guests have commented over and over again how they ABSOLUTELY LOVED the music! The combination of violin and acoustic guitar is hauntingly beautiful, so moving....I had goosebumps walking down the aisle as they played Storybook Love from The Princess Bride. Steve even learned Firework by Katy Perry for us and played it at the end of our ceremony. I have recommended Royal Strings to other brides who have ended up hiring them and were thrilled with them! I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with ROYAL STRINGS. I had contracted them for the Friday night event of a wedding in NYC. Hurricane Irene changed our plans and Friday night became the wedding, rather than the rehearsal dinner. The ceremony music was an awesome addition to our daughter's wedding at Highlawn Pavilion...she chose Cannon in D to walk down the aisle with her Dad and Sweet Child of Mine...as they finished their vows. The guests AND the Pastor just LOVED it. While guests were arriving via shuttle and being seated outside..Royal Strings performed the entire time. Friends and family are still asking how I discovered them and how outstanding they were! What you hear on the website is only enhanced when surrounded by friends and family! I would recommend them for a special event any time!

Royal Strings are/were phenomenal! The combination of a guitar and violin is just outstanding, and they can play absolutely anything. We wanted a lot of classic rock/pop before the ceremony rather than the typical classical music you hear and they delivered. But, my wife still wanted to come down the aisle to Canon in D, which sounded equally beautiful.

Steve is very easy to work with, and extremely responsive. I would highly recommend them.

Royal Strings Duo performed flawlessly at our wedding. They accommodated our nonstandard wedding comfortably, were fine adapting to last minute changes and were very professional. Most importantly, they played phenomenally! We received many complements from our guests. They even added a few flourishes such as when the violinist danced with us (while playing). We had also requested that they play at a moderate volume while people were mingling and eating, and they did so wonderfully. Check out their song list - a very unique and interesting repertoire. Royal Strings is awesome!
They played our ceremony at the church, and the cocktail hour. Not only were they reasonably priced and extremely friendly to deal with, they are extraordinarily talented musicians! I had asked them to learn a Coheed and Cambria song (my favorite band on earth) for our cocktail hour, and despite it being a difficult song to translate to violin and acoustic guitar, they nailed it and it was such a highlight of my day! This team is AMAZING!!! Steve and Boris are just incredible. I can't begin to tell you how many people approached me at the wedding and still now, a month later asking me where I found them and how incredible they sound. During cocktail hour, quite a few guests approached me and asked if I realize they are playing Metallica and Michael Jackson! Everyone was just amazed as were I and my Husband. We requested our first dance song by Lifehouse be played by them instead of our DJ, which they never played before, and did an amazing job. I look forward to using them again for future functions as well as referring to family and friends. They get an A+ in my book! You guys ROCK!

Steve at Royal Strings was a pleasure to work with. He was so responsive to all my e-mails and kept me worry free. We found them online and loved the whole feel of their music - they are a guitar and violin duo. Their prices are very reasonable and they play everything! They also toughed it in the rain for our wedding day and they really helped make it a perfect day. I was so excited to hear them play that they were all I could think about when I started walking down the aisle and after they pronounced us husband and wife! At the very last minute, we finally decided on a recessional song (Stolen by Dashboard Confessional), and emailed Steve to see if they could play it. He responded and said he would try to find the sheet music, but if he couldn't he would go to our back up song (All You Need Is Love - Beatles). Well, we were so excited when we heard Stolen being played as we kissed and made our way back down the aisle! Their sound was so unique and we loved having them play for us! After the ceremony, Steve came up to us to thank us for letting them be part of our day...what a nice gesture! They definitely were a great addition to the ceremony.

They were definitely one of my favorite vendors of the wedding day. Royal Strings is a guitarist and a violinist duo who make up for the lack in numbers with an amazing talent. Although I never even got a chance to meet them since they packed up right after the ceremony, they were wonderful to work with, from the first email til the wedding day. I asked them to play "Linus and Lucy" for our recessional music and it was soo sweet to hear it in a guitar/violin form! They really blew our minds. Professional, talented and affordable - how can you go wrong?

Make sure to check out their website for samples.. this is what sold us! We never met them or heard them in person.. we just blindly went with them and we got way more than we expected.

My only regret was not being able to hear more of their playing. What I did hear was beautiful.

Everyone at our reception really enjoyed the music and it added to the ambiance of the event. The music selection was great and we even had a family sing an Italian love song with the group. We highly recommend Royal Strings.

The Royal Strings were one of our BEST vendors. They were easy to book, very affordable, showed up on time and prepared to play. They were slightly delayed in some of our email correspondences but everything worked out in the end...so we would HIGHLY recommend them!!!

Excellent! I started crying as soon they started playing COn ti partiro, the song I requested. I highly recommend them. Great service for a great price.

Thank you Steve even though I didn't really get to meet you in person. All our correspondence were through email. I was a little apprehensive at first especially since there were a couple of emails I didn't get a respond to right away. But, boy did Royal Strings delivered! I had several song requests not on their list and they were able to play them. Our garden ceremony could not have been as magical if Royal Strings were not there to play. Thank you again.

This would be a 5 if the violinist wasn't late! Beautiful music just make sure you stress being punctual.
