Susan Hanley Forest of Royal Icings is the first person ever to bake a cake that my now-husband actually LOVED! She also took my crazy idea about a Cadbury creme egg cake and ran with it, creating a whimsical work of art that my guests are still raving about. Royal Icings is in a class by itself!

We are so in love with our cake from Royal Icings. Susan is AMAZING! We asked for a semi-naked cake decorated with florals and peg cake toppers and she knocked the design out of the park. Her prices were great. And (most importantly) the cake was moist and delicious! The frosting was so good!!! One of our guests actually told us that he had been to a lot of weddings and this is the only slice of wedding cake he's actually ever enjoyed. Thank you so much for making such a wonderful cake for us! :)

Susan was awesome to deal with, not only was she friendly and easy to talk to about design and flavors but she understood our visions and helped us get to our dream cake. Our cake not only looked amazing but it tasted amazing too. When we first met Susan she came prepared with the flavors we picked out to try and they were all so good it was hard to make a decision but we are glad we went with the Almond cake and Almond frosting it was out of this world. I would highly recommend Royal Icings not only for a beautiful cake that tastes great but because Susan is great to work with and helps you design the cake of your dreams.

Our experience with Susan and Royal Icings was literally PERFECT! I highly recommend her for any cake/cupcake needs that you may have. We are not able to do a tasting due to the distance from our home to the venue, so I solely relied on reviews and my phone conversations with Susan to bring our wedding cupcake vision to life. Every conversation I had with Susan was wonderful! She cared so much about making our day special and unique and was fabulous with sending us updates and following up on details. Now the most important part--the cupcakes tasted AMAZING. I ordered double the amount of cupcakes as our guest count, and every single one of them was gone before the night was over. At one point, I caught a crowd of people literally hovered over the cupcake table in the middle of the party swooning over how good they tasted. The only thing I would have done differently, was that I would have ordered more! :)

Look no further, Susan of Royal Icings is the one you need to make your wedding cake. Not only does she have a wonderful personality but her attention to detail, responsiveness and professionalism is the best. We needed gluten free and regular cake so we went with cupcakes and a cake topper. People who ate both could not tell the difference, moist, delicious and beautiful!! The cupcakes were amazing!!! I highly recommend Susan/Royal Icings!!!

Susan of Royal Icings is professional, easy to work with and made the planning for our wedding cake long distance, effortless. After tasting the samples she put together we knew we made the right choice. The tasting presentation was awesome. The flavors were amazing; I wish we could have picked them all because they were just that good. On our flight home from our planning my then fiancé said “I wish I had some of that wedding cake now, I can’t wait to have it on our wedding day” Designing the cake was easy. I had a few pictures but no exact idea of what I wanted; with Susan’s expertise she was able to provide suggestions and ideas that were of great help in deciding the design of our wedding cake. She did not push anything on us; every element was completely up to us. Susan has such great confidence and knowledge in her product, I happily welcomed her input.Susan is very organized. She wrote down every detail we discussed at the tasting, went over each and every one with us and executed them precisely on our wedding day.The wedding cake was amazing. It was so fresh, moist and flavorful, just like the samples if not better. It was so beautiful. Each and every point we discussed, every element of design was there; she did not miss a thing.Our wedding was two days before my husband’s birthday. We had a rehearsal dinner with our wedding party and our out of town guests that consisted mostly of his friends and family. As a surprise I wanted to get him a birthday cake. I called Susan. She was so accommodating. She made another amazing cake at the same time she was busy making our wedding cake. Kudos to Susan again, she executed it flawlessly (both day’s birthday and wedding). We had some family members with gluten issues so I ordered the birthday cake gluten free, it was as amazing as our wedding cake (our wedding cake was not gluten free)Chose Royal Icings for your event you will not go wrong. My wife and I are pretty perfectionistic and also wanted a cake that was unique and representative of 'us'. Royal Icings was the perfect choice for us in making our wedding cake, from start to finish.

We chose to consult with Susan initially due to her consistent ability to make the frosting on her cakes amazingly smooth. Her attention to detail was incredible and her care that she put in appearance was evident.

When we met with her, we had some basic ideas of what we might want. She was easy to engage with and easily explored what our interests and vision might possibly be. During our conversation, I drew out a design and it ended up being a great brainstorming session; she truly heard us and allowed our vision to be represented. We were impressed with the flavors of the samples and loved that she made her jams (that she used for fillings) herself!

Our cake involved applying lavender and rosemary that we provided to Royal Icings. Susan was engaged in ensuring she would have the materials she needed, open to our questions about aesthetics, and was creative in how to use the herbs effectively for the most beautiful presentation.

On the day of the wedding, she executed our design wonderfully. It was exactly as we had envisioned (she even had the original drawing with her as a guide). Our guests LOVED how it looked and we received many compliments on the taste.

There is nothing we would have wanted differently in our experience with Royal Icings (Susan). Her attention to detail, natural ability, clear communication, authenticity, and humor all made our experience the best we would have hoped. We highly recommend her.

Susan was great!! More than I could have ever asked for! I bake a lot and had planned on making my own wedding cake. I planned on using my mom's recipe, as she passed away when I was little. My family had advised that I may be taking on too much, but I was incredibly hesitant to give my mom's recipe to anyone. Susan reassured me that she would do all she could to make it taste just like my mom's, and she did a phenomenal job!! It was outstanding! Would highly recommend Susan!!

Susan was such a pleasure to work with. Planning my wedding in MA while living in Florida could have been complicated but working with vendors such as Susan made the planning seamless. Susan was able to meet us on short notice for a tasting while we were in town, her cakes are not only beautiful but delicious too! We had our cake planned and the design set and she even offered an additional beautiful design to make our cake a perfect fall themed cake. The maple cake with maple and the lemon with raspberry were the flavors we went with and they were delicious! Thank you again Susan and I would recommend Royal Icings for any event!

Susan Forest of Royal Icings is the nicest person you could meet, she will try and make any of your ideas come to life. But that is not all, she is an artist and she makes cakes that are so amazingly beautiful it's hard to believe it. And still that is not all, they are so moist and tasty and the favors are subtle yet strong enough for you to truly enjoy them to their fullest. You cannot go wrong having your cake made by her. She is very professional but also very friendly and warm. I cannot say enough for her, she has made our special day so much the more special by giving us the gift of edible art.

Susan was great to work with for our Forest Park wedding. We were very happy with how beautiful and delicious our red velvet with buttercream frosting wedding cake was. She set-up our cake so beautifully for our reception. I had a very specific picture of what I wanted, and she could create it perfectly. I am originally from the Boston area and wasn't familiar with local bakers, so I relied on a recommendation from our caterer. The quality and taste was on par with a very famous Boston area European style bakery that my family has used before so I was so VERY happy to find Royal Icings locally in Western Mass for our wedding. She cares a lot about the work that she does, and I would definitely recommend her to friends and family.

I was recommended by Rebecca, owner of Forget Me Not Flowers, Northampton, MA to call Susan of Royal Icings to do a speciality cake. I cannot believe what a terrific job she did for my son's and future daughter in law wedding rehearsal dinner. Since I live in California all of my conversation was either by phone or email. Susan listens very well, and called if there were any questions. We decided on doing a Candy Apple Cake with 30 plus small ones for our guest. The cake looked like a candy apply with the caramel, a green leaf and a stick in the middle. The cake (yellow) was moist and the filling was delicious (raspberry mousse). She delivered the cake on time. I would you use her again if we have another function in Northampton.

Susan was a joy to work with. We did not have a lot of time to plan the wedding. We came to her with our design ideas and she loved them and made it happen. Susan is a true genius when it comes to cakes. When we met with her many, many months before the wedding and told her that we wanted the anti-wedding cake with purple icing, ravens, gravestones and a skeleton cake topper for our Halloween wedding she just ran with it. She produced a beautiful three tiered cake chocolate Godiva with raspberry ganache-amazingness that not only tasted amazing but had people stopping in their tracks. The spooky factor was completely out of the picture because in the end the cake was so... pretty.

When you meet with Susan you're not meeting a stranger who's going to churn out a cake. She's going to make YOUR cake and it's going to feel like a friend made it for you. She was genuinely excited for our project and she was genuinely excited for us. You know just by the way she talks about what she does that she LOVES her work and her images on her site tell the story. She will work with you to make the cake you want for YOUR day. After all, it is your wedding and your cake should be a reflection of you and that's what we got. We can't thank Susan enough for the amazing contribution to our day.

Susan was wonderful. I planned my wedding in only a few weeks, so we contacted Royal Icings on short notice to see if they could fit in our wedding cake. Although very booked, Susan said she could make our cake! Throughout the whole process, I could tell Susan truly cares about making sure each couples' cake is perfect. She was truly a pleasure to work with and our cake came out beautifully and very tasty too. She provides directions on how to properly freeze the top layer of your cake--can't wait to enjoy it on our 1 year anniversary!

Susan is a lot of fun to work with, and she knows the right questions to ask to make sure that we got exactly what we wanted. We brought in a few concepts of decorated cakes we liked, and she was able to figure out which elements we wanted reflected on our cake. We had a tasting, and after that the deal was sealed. We had seen her beautiful cakes online (the smoothest buttercream I've ever seen!), and on top if that, they tasted absolutely amazing! She then coordinated with the florist and venue to ensure that there were flowers for the cake, and took care of everything else.

When we walked into the reception hall, the cake really stood out. It was absolutely gorgeous... like something on Pinterest gorgeous. She did a stellar job on the decoration--it was perfect, and nobody could believe that it wasn't fondant. One of us is gluten-free, and she was able to make gluten free cupcakes with various fillings... they were the best gluten-free anything that either of us has tried. We had overestimated the amount of cake we'd need based on numbers, but other than the anniversary tier (and anniversary cupcakes), there were no leftovers. Everyone raved about how delicious the cake was!

Where to begin! First of all, Susan is a fantastic baker and that's really what you want on your wedding day. Her cakes are not only gorgeous, but delicious. I mean, guests telling you it's the best wedding cake they've ever had delicious.

When I started the wedding cake decision process, I looked at all the cakes on Style Me Pretty that were made in Massachusetts (where I got married) and scrutinized the smoothness of the icing. And I mean scrutinized. I saw a cake that Susan had made and the butter cream was so smooth that I thought it was fondant. I immediately thought, this is my baker! If you're an absolute perfectionist, you will be thrilled with Susan's work.

On a personal level, Susan is just about the loveliest person you'll ever met. She really cares about her brides and that just shines through. She's incredibly responsive and beyond professional and very reasonably priced.

I had already booked her when she told me a story about a cake that just stayed with me. She had made a cake for a bride and on the girl's wedding day, there was a huge blizzard and the venue canceled on her! She had no venue, no electricity and no place for guests. Nightmare. Susan's drive to deliver the cake should have been thirty minutes but it took her over three hours to do it, and she did it. She said to me, "She told me not to bother but a bride has to have a cake!"

That's exactly the kind of person I wanted to make my wedding cake! And I'm so glad she did.

We couldn't be happier about the way our cake looked and tasted at our wedding reception!! It was gorgeous and the sugar flower topped it off perfectly. The cake tasted absolutely amazing. Susan was AMAZING to work with and her cakes are SO delicious that everyone at the wedding will be raving about the cake. I remember one of my friends yelling at me from across the room on my wedding day and pointing at the cake while she is eating it and saying "OMG, this is the best cake I've ever had". My family said the same thing. My now husband loved her from the start too, she is so nice, personable and so easy to work with. Even though we live in Florida, my husband and I hope we get to work with her again. The cake decoration was also SO beautiful. It was better than I could have imagined. It was perfect! We used Susan at Royal Icings to make our wedding cake and she was an absolute delight to work with! My husband and I got married in Southwick and we were unsure of bakeries in the area. I did some research online and stumbled across Royal Icings and was instantly interested in contacting Susan once I read the list of wonderful reviews she had gotten. Susan was professional, enthusiastic and responsive throughout the entire process. I contacted her through her website on a Sunday and received a call from her Monday morning. Susan and I chatted and I immediately could tell she'd be a pleasure to work with. We set up a tasting time and I selected different tasting options. The tasting went perfectly and Susan was very helpful with any questions we asked. The cake design I wanted was from a picture I found on pinterest and was definitely unique and intricate with the mixture of buttercream and fondent. Susan went above and beyond to make sure she could create the cake of my dreams. I was able to see the wedding cake before the ceremony started and my jaw dropped, it was even more perfect than I had imagined. The guests loved it and the cake itself was delicious. Susan made the most delicious cake ever. After the original tasting, we waited very impatiently for months for another taste of that cake! It did not disappoint...iit was well worth the wait! I honestly cannot remember how we came across Susan's name, so entrusting her with our wedding cake was a bit of a leap of faith, but based on other reviews we had a hunch Susan would be able and willing to make a wonderful cake for our October 2012 wedding. We provided her with a challenge - to reproduce an elegant, intricate French wedding cake in unusual colors. But from our first meeting where we discussed design and enjoyed an INCREDIBLE cake tasting, we knew she was going to do an excellent job. We clicked immediately. We didn't expect the highly personalized service she gave us - checking in by phone as the date drew nearer - what this meant was that the cake was something I never had to worry about. What a relief. The cake was not only GORGEOUS and an uncanny reproduction of our vision, but also delicious. Usually wedding cakes are one or the other. Susan was great to work with! She made sure that the cake looked the exact way my fiance and I wanted. The cakes that she makes are delicious! Sometimes wedding cakes are dry and tasteless, but Susan's cakes are moist and flavorful. My guests loved the cake (many wanted seconds) and commented on how wonderful the cake tasted. Susan has a variety of cake flavors and fillings to pick from so that anyone can find one they like. I highly recommend her.

Susan is the ultimate professional and an incredible cake baker. She was wonderful to work with on so many levels. Her ability to work with me from Texas for a wedding in Massachusetts (with my mother as a taste testing go-between) was much appreciated. The level of contact was perfect (in addition to Susan calling at all the appropriate intervals, I never waited more than a few hours for her to get back to me if I had to leave a message about something) and she made sure to ask all the right questions about what my husband and I wanted. The way Susan took our ideas (of which we had many) and talked us through the different styles and designs and pictures we had picked out was fantastic. And, on top of it all, the cake looked and tasted AMAZING, with many thanks to her icing and floral design skills. We had soooo many people come back for second slices. Even my no-carb, no-sugar grandmother had a full slice. She said she just couldn't have only one bite!

Susan is awesome. She made cupcakes for our wedding. We were able to try 6 different cake/filling combinations at the tasting. My husband and I chose her lemon cake with raspberry mousse filling, and chocolate cake with pineapple and coconut liqueur filling. Our flowers were peach roses and blue hydrangeas. Susan made peach roses and hydrangeas out of frosting to top our cupcakes. Our order came with a free 6 inch tier for anniversary, and a box with freezing instructions. Everyone loved the cupcakes, and the way Susan displayed them.

I highly recommend Royal Icings. Susan was great to work with and open to all our ideas. Planning the cake was the least stressful part of our wedding!

I was refereed to Susan by a friend who had tasted her cakes. I called Susan and she was beyond friendly and answered all my questions. I am a teacher in Boston and had a very specific time frame I could come out and do the tasting during my school break. Susan was very accommodating with my schedule. My husband and I are polar opposites when it comes to sweets. Hes a light fluffy vanilla and I'm a gooey rich chocolate. We ended up picking vanilla with lemon custard filling with butter cream frosting and a chocolate with coconut filling and butter cream frosting. Susan's cakes are outrageously good. They are so flavorful and light and the frosting is perfect. Susan also gave us a 6inch cake topper free of charge to freeze and eat on our one year anniversary! I showed Susan a picture of a cake that I liked and she was so responsive. In the next few weeks Susan would text me pictures while at the store, asking my preference on ribbon and cupcake liners. It was very sweet of her to keep me involved throughout the whole process. I came into a predicament regarding when to set up and how to store the cupcakes during my outdoor wedding. I was afraid of humidity or bugs ruining the cupcakes and Susan went out of her way and came to set up the cupcake tower (which we borrowed) right at the start of dinner which was a perfect solution! The cupcakes would be out for the guests to see but would not get ruined by the elements by sitting out too long. Susan went above and beyond accommodating to our needs and I am so appreciative of that. After the wedding we put the 6 inch cake in the box that Susan provided and put it right in the freezer. Everyone went crazy about the cupcakes! People kept talking about how they were so light and delicious, and a perfect dessert. I would definitely recommend Susan for any event. She was very nice, reasonably priced, responsive, accommodating and her cakes are delicious!

Susan and was absolutely fantastic to work with from beginning to end. I was planning my wedding from out of the area so she helped coordinate tastings with my mother and sister - sad I couldn't be there but I had scheduling conflicts :-)
To do this, we talked on the phone and she stepped through various options and she help me create a few combinations of cupcakes, fillings, and icing that sounded absolutely to die for for. With my trust in mom and sis, they picked 2 flavors for the wedding. Also, Susan created a small cake on top of the cupcake tower so we had a cake to cut into. She listened to the vision I described for my wedding and helped bring that to life. I sent her inspiration photos and she took those to create a design. She is very responsive and confirms several times to make sure we were on the same page. Everything was flawless and the price was very reasonable. My husband and I were thrilled with the whole experience. Also, the cupcakes flew off the stand at the wedding - our guests couldn't get enough...some even had 4! We only had a few left over to take home (which we enjoyed for the next several days). We highly recommend working with Royal Icings and would not hesitate to work with them again for our next event.

From the first glimpses of the cakes on her website, I knew that Susan was the person for our wedding. I said from the beginning, if I find the best vendors and the best of the best out there to work with, our wedding will be stressfree and it was! The initial consultation with Susan was a fun and creative brainstorming session and from there, we engaged in a collaborative relationship that resulted in the wedding cake of my dreams. It was perfect for us, for the tone of our wedding and the theme was captured perfectly. Susan was super responsive to emails and it was a pleasure every time I talked to her or emailed her. She is upbeat and friendly and genuinely cares about her brides. We choose the devils food cake with oreo cookie filling with the marshmellow fondant frosting. Ridiculously good! all our guests were raving about it and I think I caught a few sneaking every bites off other guests plates. Susan also designed for me 15 cupcakes that she hand-delivered the day before our wedding and endulged me with an elephant themed cupcake! These were vanilla flavor with raspberry filling. So tasty and exquisitely detailed. The ornamental topping on the cupcakes was made out of white chocolate and edible rice paper that she printed an elephant image on with edible glitter and edible piping detail. The cupcakes were almost too beautiful to eat so I ate one and kept one! Susan even spent an hour with me chatting when she delivered the cupcakes and her energy is so calming and supportive, I felt like I was visiting with an old friend.

We had a 3-tier cake for my Mother-In-Law's 60th birthday party. It was DELICIOUS! Chocolate with raspberry filling....to die for. And the little bit of leftovers I took home were gone the next day. Susan of Royal Icings was absolutely wonderful to work with! I fell in love with a cake that I saw in BRIDES Magazine and my husband and I gave her the challenge of recreating it. After meeting with her, sampling her amazingly delicious cake flavors, and viewing her past work, we had every faith that Susan could take a photo and bring our wedding cake from a dream to a reality. She listened to our concerns, worked within our budget, practically instantly responded to any email I sent, and never tried to up-sell anything - she just wanted to make us happy and genuinely was excited to create our cake. On the day of, I truly was speechless when she delivered the final product - it was without a doubt, an exact replica of the BRIDES Magazine cake - maybe even better! if I could give more than 5 stars I would!! Of all of our wedding vendors I must say that Susan was by far the most attentive, professional, , outgoing, enthusiastic, SWEETEST to work with. I remember contacting her through Wedding Wire so many months ago, and I can still recall how amazed I was by her almost immediate response. I knew pretty quickly that we wanted to work with Susan from our first meeting with her. In addition to having the most scrumptious cakes, fillings and frostings, her designs are beautiful. It is very obvious that Susan loves what she does. I had so many ideas for our vintage romantic theme wedding and Susan was so great at understanding my vision and making it a reality. All of our guests were commenting on how pretty everything looked and how delicious. And then our cake..... It was breathtakingly beautiful! Better than I could have imagined. I hated to cut it! Susan kept in touch with us along the entire process of choosing flavors and designs and checked in with me up until the day of my wedding, then she was right there setting up everything so our dessert table looked perfect! Royal Icings created beautiful and delicious cupcakes for my wedding. Susan was so flexible, responsive and easy to work with. I wasn't sure what I wanted my cake/cupcakes to look like and she worked with me to show me different options. The finished product was fun and spring-like and exactly what I was going for. Susan did such a wonderful job with our wedding cake. She was actually recommended to us by our caterer and since our caterer is the best in the area there was no doubt we would give Susan at Royal Icings a call, and we are so glad we did. She was great to work with, price was reasonable, and when we had the tasting we knew we made the right decision. It was hard to choose from all the delicious flavors, (of which all are made from scratch) We went with a chocolate cake with a whipped rasberry cream filling, it was fabulous!! The cake itself looked beautiful, we had a square 3 tier cake with a purple ribbon at the base of each layer and then she put fresh flowers as a topper she got from our florist so everything matched and blended well. We had alot of compliments on the cake, and to be honest, I wanted to cut into the top part of the cake after the wedding instead of saving it for our 1 year anniversary. But fortunately my husband would not let me. What is great about saving the top for the 1 year anniversary is Susan gives you a set of instructions on how to freeze the cake properly so when you go to eat is next year your not eating a dried out frost bitten cake. I definately recommend Royal Icings to anyone looking for not only a beautiful looking cake but also a delicious one!! You will be glad you did!

Susan was a pleasure to work with! My cake was a non-traditional, "death by chocolate cake". I gave Susan a picture of my dream cake and she brought it to life. Susan is incredibly attentive. I emailed her from the florist asking for the dimensions of my cake and she called me back less than one minute later and had every bit of information that I needed. My cake was not only beautiful but delicious too!! The tasting that you have with Susan before she makes your cake give you a very good idea of the yummyness that is to come. After the wedding I even got a phone call from Susan asking how everything went and congratulating my husband and I. I don't even know where to start! Everything about Royal Icings exceeded our expectations! Susan is very quick with responding to emails which is great for an impatient bride like myself! We met back in January for our consultation where we sampled the cake, and OH MY GOODNESS was it delicious!! My husband and I are not HUGE cake/dessert fans but that was until we tried Susan's... it was amazing!!!! I'm going to be honest, I was a little nervous considering I wasn't EXACTLY sure how our cake was going to look on our wedding day. Sure we went over what it would look like but its different than actually seeing it. I am a control freak, can you tell? :) When we walked into our venue and saw our wedding cake it brought tears to my eyes... it was the most gorgeous cake I had ever seen and even better than I imagined!!! Susan REALLY understood EXACTLY what we wanted and brought her vision to life. We got SO many compliments on how delicious our wedding cake was... a few of our guests even had 4 or 5 helpings of cake!! I would recommend Royal Icings to anyone and everyone... Susan is such a joy to work with. Susan is so talented and I feel honored to have had one of her masterpieces at our wedding.

Susan at Royal Icings was wonderful to work with in planning for our wedding. We received so many great compliments from our guests about the cake and cupcakes. They were so beautiful and wonderfully decorated, that several guests even asked for her number to contact for future events! They were also the most delicious cupcakes!! We would highly recommend you contact Royal Icings if you are need a cake or cups for your next party/ special event!

If you are looking for a great tasting cake, beautiful detail, and a baker who takes the time to listen to your ideas, Susan is the right baker for your wedding. She did a great job taking our ideas and making the cake exactly how we imagined it should look. We were very pleased and impressed with all the little details that she put into the cake and decorations and we couldn't have been happier. Everything was displayed perfectly. We loved working with her and the cake not only looked amazing but tasted great as well.

Susan is artistic, caring and very professional in her expertise area. She made our parents 5oth wedding anniversary cake. With our initial meeting i told her i wanted something simplistic, yet victorian and romantic. When i saw the final complete masterpiece of cake art .. you would not even believe the gratefulness i felt towards her. The cake was gorgeous!!! Elegant!! and so victorian and romantic!!!!! -perfect for the 5oth wedding celebration. We chose the following flavors: maple with maple filling and spice with pumpkin mouse filling the first layer was the maple then the spice and then the maple. The cake was covered in a vanilla buttercream frosting... it was a tasty indulgence into the fall flavors we all love so much. The guest at the party were very impressed with the cakes appearance- and they loved the taste. She makes everything from scratch, the cake is moist.. and beyond out of this world for enticing your taste buds. I highly recommend Royal Icings - Susan and her cake baking talent. From our first meeting and sampling the 2 flavors we picked for the cake, i asked her if she would do a birtdhay cake for my family in october.. so that they could try this awesome maple cake... and she did that cake was also way beyond beautiful and everyone loved the homemade maple flavor.
thank you susan for all you did to make the parents 5oth wedding anniversary such a joyous event. My mother in law said the cake was more beautiful then her wedding cake and that the whole night she felt like a "Queen". I hope to have Royal Icings in the future make more delicious items to purchase and share with our family!

Susan was an absolute joy to work with, I can't say enough about her. She responded right away to our inquiry about wedding cupcakes/cake. I met her for a consultation, during which she was incredibly friendly, sweet and professional; she asked very detailed questions about what I was looking for. I felt confident when I left that she had everything well under control.
She delivered the cupcakes to our venue and had them set up perfectly before we arrived! They were exactly as I wanted them - and they were beautifully and very artistically done. It must have been painstaking - it was obvious she spent lots of time getting everything perfect. The taste? AMAZING. These are the moistest, most flavorful cupcakes I've ever had, hands down. Our guests were begging to take the leftover cupcakes (I'm glad I had her make extras!)

As an aside, we went to a place that only makes cupcakes on our honeymoon, and we commented how those just did not live up to Royal Icings' cupcakes. Tremendous. I cannot possibly recommend her more!!

The cake was absolutely gorgeous and tasted amazing! Susan was great, always willing to answer my questions quickly and was even flexible enough to make a grooms cake for the rehearsal dinner. She usually only does one cake a weekend which means the cakes are always fresh and delicious and just the way you envisioned it! We will be going back to her for our anniversary cake and any other cake needs we may have (or cupcakes which are also delicious).

We couldn't have been more pleased with the service and quality we encountered with Susan at Royal Icings. From the very first time we met Susan we were very confident that we'd have an amazing cake at our wedding and when the big day finally came...we did. She was able to take our design ideas and make them a reality. Many of our guests commented that it was one of the best and most elegant wedding cakes they'd seen and tasted before. In short, we couldn't recommend Susan more highly. She made it very easy for this out-of-town couple to feel confident that they'd chosen the right baker.

The first time we met Susan...we talked for literally 2 hours. She is so down to earth and is very sweet! She has incredible knowledge about cakes. We Had the best cake ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I saw it I wanted to cry! It was everything we asked for and was so beautiful! We are so glad our caterer recommended her...she is GREAT!!! I would highly recommend her... and we got the red velvet with cream cheese frosting... TO DIE FOR!!

My husband and I changed our wedding plans 6 months before the date. We scrambled to find vendors, and luckily, we found Susan and Royal Icings. From the very first meeting to the very end, Susan was awesome to work with. She was accommodating, thorough, friendly and really cared about our wedding and how things were going to turn out. We opted for cupcakes and a large cupcake top rather than a cake, and it was so so delicious. I am a huge fan of desserts, and the cupcakes reminded me of those you can find at places such as Magnolia Bakery in NYC. All of our guests loved them, and thought the cupcakes and the cake top were beautifully done. We literally did not have any left and our guest count was below the amount of cupcakes we had ordered. Additionally, everything was really well priced. If you are thinking about using Royal Icings, just call! You will not be disappointed!!

Planning a wedding reception from 1500 miles away was not easy! I live in Florida and my parents were doing all the foot work for my reception in West Springfield, Mass. I found Royal Icings online and was impressed by the website and great ratings. My mom and dad went for a visit with Susan the owner and instantly knew by her delicious samples and friendly personality that she was the perfect fit for us. Susan was unbelievable with her punctual email correspondence and willingness to be flexible for a finicky bride :) My ceremony was a destination wedding in the Caribbean and I wanted the cupcakes to be reminiscent of our trip along with touches of our favorite sweets. She let me help custom design the cupcakes from the ingredients to the liners and gave me great suggestions and feedback. The cupcake display was a huge hit at my reception and I got so many complements on how beautiful and tasty they were. They were tropical, colorful, and absolutely stunning! She even created two bride and groom cupcakes with our ceremony colors for the top of the display. If you look in the background of my pictures you can see my guests with their mouths wide open eating cupcakes :) I even noticed people getting their picture taken in front of the display! Susan was wonderful to work with and she truly brought my vision to life. I have recommended her company to many of my friends planning upcoming weddings and I plan to keep in touch with her for any future parties I plan back home.

We had Susan make us a wedding cupcake tower and it came out amazing! My husband is vegan so we needed the small cake and some of the cupcakes to not have dairy or eggs and even though she had never done that before she was willing to try. It was delicious! So rich and moist. When I saw my cake and cupcakes on my wedding day I could not have been happier. Absolutely perfect. Susan is very easy to work with and will go out of her way to get you what you want at a very reasonable price. I would definitely use her again and recommend her to anybody for any occasion.

Wow, the flexibility that we had when working with Susan was amazing! I saw a design online but I assumed it was too much. As I kept hinking about the design I decided to ask how much it would be... Susan came back with a very reasonable price and was able to add more to the original cake than originally planned. (For about $5 more).

As I continued on my cake forming, Susan found many more ideas, and we were still designing my cake up until two nights before the wedding. The whole cake was together except what texture to put on the outside! It came out amazing, and I feel that words could not describe how I felt the afternoon of my wedding when I saw my cake.

If you re looking for someone who is easy to work with, while making a great cake, creativity, and at a reasonable cost, you should definitely choose Susan. You will not be let down.

Getting my cake from Susan was a wonderful choice. I wanted something that was a little non-traditional and different. When I went on her website I thought that all of her cakes were beautiful. I contacted her and she really came through with the most amazing and delicious wedding cake I could have asked for. I think I got more compliments on the cake than anything else!! She is very professional and also very friendly. I will be recommending her to all the future brides that I meet!

I know it probably doesn't seem believable that I rated everything a 5 but the cake was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Susans cakes are delicious and she is very professional and easy to talk to. She did a wonderful job listening to what my fiance and I were looking for in a cake and she kept me updated as she was making the cake. You cannot beat her prices and the cake is sooo good. I know I will be going back to her again when I need a cake!

The entire process from start to finish was amazing. I found Susan online, searching for wedding cakes in Western Mass. I was originally going to make my own wedding cake, but after I found out that I couldn't due to health dept laws, I began my search. I've worked in the reception business, so I'd had many cakes from professional and commercial bakeries; both the good, bad, and ugly.

I contacted Susan and we spoke via email about flavors, and we met and had a tasting. I knew as soon as I had the first taste that this was the cake we were meant to have!

The entire process was amazing, Susan is so humble but her cakes are fantastic! It was so delicious I had 2 guests ask me at my wedding reception who made our cake.

I will definitely recommend her to anyone and everyone!

As a wedding caterer I have done nearly 1000 weddings, and at every wedding Im always anxious to try the cake. I HAVE NEVER had a more moist, flavorfull cake in my career. Matched with exceptional presentation, Susan's cakes should be a must for any wedding of any size. Susan is more than accomodating, easy to work with, offers tastings without a second thought and is very affordable. I wouldnt go anywhere else for my wedding cake, your search should end here!

I wasn’t able to attend my parents 60th wedding anniversary so I wanted to send something extra special. I discovered Royal Icings in the internet and could not have been more pleased. Susan was extremely patient as I sent her drawn pictures of what I had in mind; She answered all of my questions and then some. I was very lucky to find her - not many people can make a heart-shaped cake! With her expert advice, a cake was created that was the hit of the party. Having heard how delicious it was, the only regret I have is that I wasn’t able to have a piece. Susan is a wonderful, funny, talented and patient designer who creates top-of-the-line original cakes. On a scale of 1-5, I would give her at least a 6!

Your cake was a hit! Numerous compliments on the style, taste, how fresh it seemed, how lite it was, and so on.. It was definitely the hit of the meal and several of the wait staff asked who made it! Our holiday cake looked so beautiful we didn't want to eat it! When we finally did it was so moist it melted in your mouth. There were 3 flavor fillings, which were all so delicious. The raspberry cream was my favorite. Susan was so knowledgeable and accomodating. She worked with us to help us create a special cake for our event. Susan was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend her to anyone for any special moment. She is also doing our wedding cake in May and we know it will be the talk of the wedding! I couldn't be happier with my cake from Royal Icings. As a baker myself, I was VERY particular about what my wedding cake would look like and taste like - and I can honestly say Susan delivered on both accounts. The cake was beautiful, and looked EXACTLY how I wanted it to, and I got SO many complements on the taste from wedding guests. Susan is delightful in every interaction and will set your mind at ease. She takes tremendous care and pride in her work and it shows. One guest never eats wedding cake and had two slices after trying a bite of his wife's slice.

I attended a wedding recently and this cake was VERY dry. I know even the bride was not happy at all. The icing was really thin. If you want good cake & a good looking cake, look elsewhere.

The wedding I attended the cake was extremely dry, it did not look like the pictures that were sent to them and most important of all is when they told royal icings after they asked how everything was the bride was treated very disrespectful!!!! With the amount of money paid for a cake and it being your wedding your do strive for perfection I know everything don't go 100% your way but as a professional , you should try to make things right after they just spent 100's on a cake you don't argue with the bride that's very disappointing!
