Amazing!
I have nothing but amazing things to say about Rose Petals Florist. Shirley and Raven are an amazing team. They were both very attentive and responsive to any questions I had or changes to the order. I dont have one creative bone in my body so when I met with Shirley told her my wedding venue location and colors she just ran with it!!! She gave me her honest opinions about what would work and flow together and even helped me pick out complimentary linens. Shirley's attention to detail is amazing. She set and staged all of the flowers around the venue. It truly was incredible. I had so many compliments from family friends and even venue staff. I highly recommend Rose Petals Florist for any occasion and all your florist needs!!!!!!!!!!!!! They really are the best!!!!!!! -

Amazing Florist Lake Tahoe area
Extremely satisfied with their arrangements. They were on time and very easy to work with. We. had absolutely no issues with this vendor. I should also mention I never met with them directly as I was out of the area so all our conversations were done over the phone and email. Shirley and Raven were amazing. I highly recommend this florist. -

An artistic touch even with simple arrangements
Raven was very knowledgeable, professional and lovely to work with for our wedding. She reviewed our mood/inspiration board, had a quick call with us to talk through seasonal options and different ways to display the flowers and gave several suggestions we ended up using on the big day. It’s amazing how that call and a few emails from there she and her team at Rose Petals made incredible arrangements for our wedding. A few weeks out from the date we hit decision fatigue and gave Raven the sign off to use her best judgement for several elements of the arrangements and she nailed it! A little bit of traffic delayed her arrival on the day of but Raven did a great job of keeping my wedding planner in the loop and you couldn’t tell her team had less than optimal time to setup our ceremony space. You are truly in fantastic artistic hands at Rose Petals. -

AMAZING! Shirley and Raven did an incredible job on our wedding flowers!! More than just beautiful flowers, I appreciated the attention to detail Shirley had. You can tell that she feels personally invested in her services and she was incredible on the day of our wedding, making sure everyone had everything they needed and that all of the flowers were perfect. She set up our ceremony flowers and then transferred them into the reception site so seamlessly that it was like magic. She also provided (and applied) real flowers for our cake and I could not be happier with how it turned out – so beautiful! (I will happily post photos when I get some) I would highly recommend Shirley for any event!

The flowers and the setup were beautiful! The minute I walked in and explained what I wanted they delivered! I am not a flower girl and had no idea what I was doing. Shirley and Raven made my venue at Edgewood absolutely perfect. They set everything up, and I had no worries or stress the day of the wedding. Thank you all so much for making the venue above and beyond! The flowers were beautiful and the setup was gorgeous!!! -

I live in San Jose and Rose Petals in South Tahoe made it very easy to plan for our wedding day. Whenever we were in town they made sure to squeeze us in to go over details. To this day, I still get compliments about how beautiful the flowers were on our wedding day. Everything we asked for was definitely delivered. Shirley knows what she is talking about and I would suggest to take any recommendations she makes. Rose Petals is the best for your big day! -

Shirley is not just a florist; she is a true artist. During our first meeting, I really felt her passion for her creations to make life beautiful through flowers. She is creative, kind, and compassionate. She listens to her couples and coordinates her ideas to make their day special and unique. She is such a perfectionist, that she keeps notes everywhere and sends pictures to ensure the bride/groom is satisfied. Her expectations of herself exceeded mine when it comes to her work. When I finally saw my bouquet and decorations throughout the venue; I was speechless. The arch we were married under was insanely beautiful. After the ceremony, I actually took a few moments to look at all the intricate details. Pictures do not do justice to the beauty of her work. Our guests gave so many compliments on our floral decorations.
She even designed our chalkboard signs that were placed throughout the venue. I was truly blessed to have selected Shirley (and team) for our wedding. She is truly a gem in Tahoe. If I had to do it again, I would not hesitate to hire Shirley and team at Rose Petals Florist.

Shirley was AMAZING with our wedding!! We had no idea what were wanting for our flowers, except for incorporating pinecones, but didn't say anything yet to her about it. When she was discussing ideas with us she then said pinecones and we were so shocked because it was like she had read our mind. She knew our style and flowers, without knowing us, she truly has a gift for being a florist. We have never met anyone more in tuned with there work and are so grateful we got to work with her. Shirley is knows her stuff, great to work with and super nice! I would HIGHLY recommend her to others, she really does put her heart and soul in her job. -

Our wedding flowers were done exactly the way we envisioned them. Shirley and her team went above and beyond to make our wedding beautiful even more so then we pictured it would be from the ceremony site to the cocktail hour area onto the reception hall. My wife's bouquet as well as the brides maids were perfect. Our center pieces we to die for and the ceremony flower setup was breathtaking. She even took time after setting up to help out with our line up as we were getting ready to walk the isle. Shirley, you and your team at Rose Petals Florist are amazing. I highly recommend Rose Petals Florist and if you need more reasons why just email me for photos from our wedding and you'll be amazed. -

Shirley is AMAZING & WONDERFUL!!! I worked with her for my wedding this year on May 31, 2014 and she was awesome! With only talking to her via phone and email she got my flowers to match my personality and wedding perfectly! She gave me great ideas and went over each flower with me. Definitely recommend Rose Petals! I called a few places, this was the ONLY one that asked me what size me and all the girls were to make sure the bouquets were the right size for each of us. Not something I even thought about before she asked.
One snafu was that the flowers for the centerpieces were the wrong color (when I went in to drop off my bottles I noticed), but she was on top of it. Switched them out for the right ones, and everything looked fantastic. I could not be happier that I chose this florist for my wedding. -

Our flowers turned out beautiful. We had a very large wedding party and everyone was pinned up and ready to go without us having to worry about anything. The flowers hung over the arch were perfect as well. Would definitely recommend to any bride. -

Shirley and her Team at Rose Petals was such a delight to work with. Shirley is an awesome woman who has a knack at paying close attention to the details and is extremely creative with her designs. She can take your vision and kick it up the the next level and on the day of your Wedding, you will be pleasantly surprised at the finished product. From the centerpieces to the bouquets to the Arch and flowers, etc., it all was beautiful and we are so happy that we worked with Rose Petals in Tahoe. -

I loved her works! Well, I had no idea about the wedding flowers, but she helped me everything I needed. The first day I met her, she was so helpful choosing flowers. And on the wedding day, she set up everything perfectly, so the ceremony and the reception looked so beautiful! Also, before me and my dad walked down the aisle, she prepared everything (tissue, mints, mirror etc...) so I had nothing to worry about. She was so sweet! I recommend her to everyone who likes to have a wedding at Tahoe =) -

Our flowers were perfect for the ceremony and reception. With only a suggestion from us of the main flower type and wedding colors, Rose petals created a stunning bride's bouquet, boutineers, corsages, and beautiful centerpieces for the tables. Shirley and her staff did an amazing job bringing to life what I imagined for my flowers. I loved hearing that additional flowers were ordered from her grower when she was not satisfied with the quality of the flowers she received. Shirley also provided the flowers for my wedding cake which were equally beautiful cascading down my three tier cake! -

Shirley was so kind, I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a florist. Everyone at my wedding said my flower were the prettiest they had ever seen. Also there was a small mistake in billing, which I didn't catch- Shirley did and she quickly brought it to my attention and lowered my amount that I owed. I believe she has good character. You are in good hands. -

Absolutely beautiful
I had called to inquire about flowers for my wedding. They worked with my budget and were able to create beautiful bouquets for my wedding just based on a few details from a phone conversation. The flowers were gorgeous and were exactly what I wanted. The ladies a very sweet and are definitely professionals. -

Shirely and Raven were great to work with. Flowers and swag were beautiful, but make sure you know exactly what you want. They do not like too many changes. I think I made 4 changes to the invoice and they were not happy. Other than that, this company is great to work with. -

I enjoyed working with Shirley from Rose Petals It was obvious from the start that she has been doing this a long time We had a tight timeline of 3 months, and she was more than willing to accommodate, even though she was obviously very busy We live in Wisconsin, but decided on a very small, 10-guest destination ceremony in South Lake Tahoe It was difficult choosing vendors without having face-to-face meetings, but Shirley was great to work with over the phone and by email I sent her bridal bouquet, boutonniere, and centerpiece photos I liked for inspiration, as well as a photo of my dress and our daughters' flower girl dresses We were going for a vintage-inspired, shabby chic wedding She was very knowledgeable about what would look nice with the style of my dress and helped me decide which flowers and size of bouquet would look best, in the color scheme I desired We ended up purchasing a medium-size bridal bouquet, groom’s boutonniere, two small bouquets and halos for our young daughters, 3 small mason jar centerpieces, and a flower girl basket with petals We picked up the flowers, and were very pleased with how everything turned out The final result was very close to what we had discussed, although I noticed some of the flowers previously talked about were not included in the bouquet We had talked about solidago to bring in some highlights of yellow, as well as some dusty miller, but they weren’t included I was okay with this, even though she hadn’t discussed the omission with me prior I feel it was because I gave her free reign with the design, as I think giving professionals creative freedom will allow for a more beautiful outcome I had envisioned a more relaxed and wispier bridal bouquet, but in the end I think she was accurate in suggesting a more classic design, as it would’ve taken away from the nature of my lace silhouette dress She did satisfy my shabby chic side with the centerpieces, and they were my favorite! I wasn’t disappointed. -

Overall, I'm so happy with my flowers and how they turned out! We did 9 centerpieces and bouquets/bouts/corsages. There were some hiccups in communication along the way, but in the end everything turned out well. -

Shirley was great to work with. Extremely nice and she really knows her stuff. However I do feel things were a bit over priced. I feel as though I could have gotten a bit more for what I paid. And I love Gerber daisies and wanted lots of them in my bouquet but on my wedding day there were only 4 or 5 small ones mixed in. The bouquet looked nice but when I said I wanted a lot of them and they are my favorite I really wanted there to be a ton of them. I would say make sure to be extremely specific on what you want. I was told I would get pictures before hand of some wedding she was doing that were very similar so I could see what it looked like but I was never shown anything which was hard because I didn't know all the kinds of flowers she was talking about so I didn't know how it would turn out. Like I said all the flowers were nice but not what I was expecting. -

I love the flowers that Shirley made for our wedding. We chose just to have body flowers for the family and some bunches to decorate the arch for the ceremony, so pretty low key (no centerpieces). My initial meeting was with Shirley's assistance, who was great! We met with her for an hour and let her just help guide us to the bouquets and boutonnieres we liked by looking at photos. We put together every last detail. Two weeks later, though, I had to go through the whole consultation with Shirley over the phone since she said she "didn't have the notes" from the assistant. What was unfortunate was that I know no flower names, so it was trickily to recall details. All details ironed out well, though, until I had a frantic VM from Shirley two nights before the wedding, stating I hadn't given her details for the wrist corsages and she was going to have to make decisions. We had discussed her question over e-mail two weeks prior and, when I called her back, she said that she just didn't want to look back at her e-mail.... I was not very pleased with that statement.
Any-who, flowers turned out great but there were some day of issues I was not happy with: We paid for her to do two deliveries and pin boutonnieres on the men, but she dropped the flowers off at the front desk of our hotel, which resulted in my photographer pinning and my bouquets lost in a box on the terrace for 20 minutes, in the warm sun. I hope that our situation was an exception, because Shirley seemed so passionate about her job, but I am a little disappointed in the lack of professionalism throughout the process. -

I was planning a wedding from about 2 hours away so I didn't have the opportunity to meet her before sending a deposit. So I sent my deposit and then scheduled a meeting with her for the next time we were in town. But she didn't show up for our meeting! That was just the beginning. Every phone call with her started with her dumping all her stresses on me and me not getting a word in. And every phone call it seemed that she didn't recall what we had previously discussed or what I had emailed her. From the start, I told her I would provide small mason jars for the centerpieces and that I didn't like filler flowers/greenery, just soft flowers. From Shirley's pictures, she also likes to bedazzle her flowers and I told her (and emailed her) that I did not want that.
The day before my wedding, she calls me and told me how stressed she was and some injury she had and then went on to tell me that the jars I provided were too small. I had previously emailed her a picture of the jars I was providing and said from the start I wanted the centerpieces small. And if that's what I tell you I want, you make it work with fewer flowers. But she proceeded to argue with me that it wouldn't work. Then she also asked about jewels in the flowers. So I pointed out that I had already told her that I don't want that. But she told me it was no where in writing so she didn't know.....It's not my fault that she didn't keep my email or take notes when I told her I didn't want that. She later told me she found the email that said it but I had also told her this multiple times verbally. Also, the flowers she delivered were not what we discussed. They had a lot of greenery. I also said I wanted coral and peach flowers (pink coral not orange coral) but the flowers were very close to red.
This isn't everything that went wrong but the most difficult thing was communication. She seemed so scatter brained and spastic that she made the whole process very stressful. -

I was planning my wedding to be held in Lake Tahoe but then I realized how much of a beast Shirley was! I live very far from Lake Tahoe so its not easy for me to go there, we wanted to let the vendors know we were interested in having them be apart of our wedding but Shirley was extremely persistent about getting the deposit in; I didn't even get the chance to email her to say that we were going to plan a trip within the month so I would pay my deposit then; we didn't want to put all this money down on deposit sites unseen; anyways, she emails me back saying that her & the other vendors met in a meeting saying that if I didn't put my deposit down asap that they wouldn't provide me their services. At that point, we realized that either she made it up or that there were all b*tches; esp. her so we decided that we didn't want to support any of their businesses & now I will be having my gorgeous wedding else where & everyone else is a lot better than that women! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! But before she went all psycho on me, she seemed to want everything her way, wouldn't let me get a word in edge wise & when I did finally get to say something, she wasn't thrilled to be doing it! I am actually beyond grateful she showed her true colors before I put my money towards her! -

Rose Petals did the flowers for my wedding at the Edgewood. Shirley always seemed scattered and disorganized when we spoke - every phone conversation I had to remind her about the entire order, about pictures I had sent her of what I wanted, etc. Some of the arrangements were nice, but on the wedding day they failed to deliver key elements of my order, including the petals and baskets for my two adorable flower girls. :( There was no florist to be found on my wedding day to speak to. When I brought the issue to Shirley's attention after the wedding, she refused to apologize for the errors. I would use another vendor. -
