Amazing wedding reception

Erich did the most amazing job. He dj"d the whole wedding...everything went smoothly. Then he got the dance floor going and it never emptied once. We even asked to extend and he did. It was so fun and he knew perfect songs to play to keep everyone out there. Cannot recommend him enough

Amazing DJ!

Erich with Rose City DJs is the BEST! He has been a DJ for many years and seriously made my wedding day run so smoothly. It is easy to set up playlists on his website and to even request which songs you do not want him to play. If you are unsure whats songs you want to play he has great pre-made playlists for every genre.

A few days before the wedding he talked me through the flow of the wedding and even coordinated with my wedding photographer. I definitely recommend him for your wedding.

100% would book again

Erich was a phenomenal and professional DJ from start to finish. We met him at the Portland Bridal Show and emailed him shortly after the show for a quote. He promptly responded and we met in person to go over finer details.

His thoroughness in the first meeting sold us right from the start. He went over his full package and walk-through of what to expect throughout the planning process and wedding planning. Shortly before the big day, we had a phone call with Erich to go over our final check list of song requests for pre-ceremony cocktail music, processional of parents and wedding party, recessional music, cocktail hour music, dinner music, and of course dancing!

His rates were very competitive and we received great value when it was all said and done. All of our guests complimented the way he commanded the dance floor with his music selections.

We would 100% book Erich again for another event.

Awesome and Accommodating

Erich was incredibly accommodating and understanding in every step leading up to the wedding. He took our strange requests seriously and worked well as we were running behind and had a few last-minute changes. With a smile on his face every time he was ready to help make our day awesome. Thank you, Erich, for your great service and I hope I see you again sometime in the future.

Excellent DJ service

We had Ken as our DJ for our wedding and he was amazing! He was interactive with the crowd and did an amazing job with the ceremony music and lining everything up. We had a last minute change for my mom to surprise us and he was able to accommodate the change on the day of. I highly recommend Rose City DJ’s!!!

Erich was AMAZING and a must use

Ken went above and beyond!

We booked Ken O-Brien through Rose City DJs for our wedding. Ken was awesome! He is super engaging and energetic. And his skills go beyond DJing. He basically did all of the coordination for our wedding, and he even came to the rehearsal dinner the day before to make sure everything was set and ready to roll. I would highly recommend Rose City DJs, not only for their amazing services, but also their prices!

He was great! Was able to get any songs we wanted I’d he didn’t already have them.

Everything was great. We were able to get all the music we wanted as well as help with ideas when we didn’t know what to do. Everything was timed out really well and done professionally. Rose city DJs was great and I would use them again in a heart beat!

Absolutely amazing!

Ken did a FANTASTIC job of emceeing our wedding, he made us feel comfortable throughout the whole event. From the rehearsal the day before, to the day of he was incredibly helpful through the whole thing. I can’t recommend Rose City Dj’s enough!

Very Reliable!

I met him at the Portland Bride Show and he sold me on his personality alone! He is very personable and extremely attentive to our needs. He made us feel like a priority and was great at communicating with us. He showed up to our rehearsal even though that wasn't required of him. He had tons of songs to choose from and had great wedding game and other suggestions if we needed them! Definitely give him a chance, we didn't regret it :)!

The definition of perfect!

We had Erich come and help us the day before for our rehearsal since we didn’t have a wedding planner, and it went so smooth. I couldn’t have asked for a better DJ, he helped us so much, and everyone at the wedding raves about how fun it was and the DJ definitely helped make it that much more fun. I highly recommend for ANY event.

Backyard Wedding

Erich pulled the day together making our wedding and reception the best day ever for us and our guests ages 5 - 85. Everyone said our event was one of the best they have attended and are still commenting on how great our DJ was.

Awesomely amazing!

Erich was Amazing!! He made sure we met in person before booking him to make sure we were “ compatible “ on his side as well as ours and we hit it off right from the get go😊 we made contact several times through the process to make sure things were on track and were reminded to always “SAVE” not “ SUBMIT “ 😜 overall a great experience and would totally use Erich again and absolutely recommend him!!!

Great MC! Perfect Soundtrack for an Amazing day!

Erich with Rose City DJ was amazing. Choosing music was very easy as we planned our wedding using his website. We were able to use the outline provided to select the perfect soundtrack for each moment of of our special day. From seating guest, the procession, to our first dance, throwing the bouquet, to our entrance and exit. Rose City DJ kept the day moving, worked with the venue on timelines, kept the guests pumped and we partied and celebrated our union. We didn’t have to worry about anything with Rose City DJ MCing our special day. I would highly recommend them for any event.

Fun, professional DJ

Erich was professional, fun and flexible for our wedding! He connected with us a few days before to iron out details and really helped to make the wedding flow! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ who is fun, keeps the party going and makes this part of planning a wedding as least stressful as possible!

Everything you want and didnt know you needed

Wow! They were the reason our wedding went off without a hitch! He even helped us plan out weeks before the wedding!! He brought things to our attention we hadn't thought about and this really brought everything together. He listened to what we wanted and was over the top in all ways! He not only served us in his talent of DJ, he even got our dads to do toasts. Such a great communicator, DJ and guy in general!

Great mc/dj!

Erich was an amazing MC/DJ at our wedding. We were initially going to do our own music, but were so glad that we decided to hire Erich. He made sure everything went smoothly and handled all the transitions, introductions, and announcements. Erich was wonderful and easy to work with, we would definitely recommend Rose City Dj’s.

Just amazing! RCDJ's dj'd my brothers wedding back in 2014 and I knew I wanted them djing my wedding also! 4 years later and they're still just as great! There was never a dull moment in the crowd!

Eric delivered! Little did I know we'd need a separate set up for the ceremony and the reception, just due to the lay out of the grounds. Eric was on it. He set up speakers, controls and mics for both areas without us realizing it was ever needed. He transitioned from one space to the next without a hiccup. He was able to roll with the punches making sure our evening went smoothly and as perfectly as it could. Music was great. I don;t recall a time where there wasn't anyone dancing. Couldn't imagine another DJ at our wedding.

Erik was great! He had DJ'd my sisters wedding about 10 years prior and was so great that I wanted to reach out to him for my wedding. Even though 10 years had passed he was just as amazing! He took song requests, played music for all generations and had the ability to get everyone up and off their feet. I highly recommend.

At the beginning of our wedding planning process, I wasn’t sure if we needed a DJ, but my fiancé (now husband!!) thought we should get one. After doing some research we picked Rose City DJ’s and I am SO HAPPY with our decision. Working with Erich was incredible - he’s very personable and outgoing and is extremely helpful. Not only is he incredibly talented, but he has years of experience and it shows. He is great at reading the dance floor and picking the perfect moments to play songs that you’ve picked out! He takes the time to understand the vibe you’re looking for for your wedding and I can’t recomend him highly enough. I truly believe he is what helped make our wedding the amazing party that it was. I’ve had multiple people from my wedding ask for his information! You won’t regret choosing him!

Erich was very detailed in requesting music from us beforehand and he was great at really getting a feel for what kind of music we wanted and what we liked. I had many compliments on our playlists throughout the event and the dance music was exactly what I hoped for. I was having a hard time focusing on visiting guests because I just wanted to keep dancing! Everyone had a blast!

He was an excellent MC and kept the energy going well. We included the shoe game at our reception as well and he did a really great job with it and it was a really fun addition.

Hands down THE BEST vendor we worked with throughout our wedding! From the beginning Erich was responsive and available and totally got the vibe we were going for. He went out of his way to communicate with the owner of our venue and acted as our “wedding coordinator” the day of. He was on point, professional, energetic and down to earth! Everyone loved the music selection from the dinner to the dance floor. He did an amazing job keeping things moving and getting everyone involved. Highly recommended! He truly made the night perfect.

Rose City DJs were awesome and so easy to work with. Special thanks to Erich, he even got songs for us that were not on their database. The process was so easy, which was wonderful since we planned our wedding from Australia. Everyone loved the reception and how awesome our Dj Erich was. We were unsure about hiring a DJ, and after working with Erich and his team, I am SO glad we did. He was truly worth every penny. We hired him about a week and a half before our Sunday wedding - super last minute. He was very accommodating even though we didn't provide him much information to go off of. Luckily he was one of my venue's preferred vendor so he was very familiar with the location.

At first we said we didn't really want much emceeing, but this is where he really shined and did a FANTASTIC job moving the event along through the night. He recognized that we didn't really know what we wanted, and were super laid back - pretty much giving him free reign. He really stepped up and delivered a fun and entertaining experience. Several guests commented as such. From other reviews, it looks like Erich also works well with brides who know exactly what they want, but for me personally, he did an excellent job at working with a bride who wanted to put in the least amount of effort possible. Thank you so much Erich and team for making a huge aspect of my wedding go smoothly without me having to stress over it at all.

Erich and his team made our wedding! I think he was the best decision we made when choosing vendors. He did a great job, everyone had so much fun, people actually danced, it was great. The photobooth was awesome, our guests gave us great feedback about how much fun the booth was, and it kept everyone having a great time, including my husband and I! I wouldn't recommend anyone else for a DJ or photobooth services! Erich is your guy!

Erich was great, kept everyone dancing and excited throughout our wedding night. Gave great suggestions during the rehearsal that helped put the timing of everything together. The photo booth he provides as well is excellent and we worth the money. Best DJ we've seen at a wedding, glad it was ours!

The team at Rose City DJ's was superb! They showed up for my daughters rehearsal Friday night before the wedding and that was very helpful! They showed up early on the day of the wedding, were set and and ready to go and ran the show! Erich was awesome! We decided to go with Rose City DJ's after our initial meeting because Erich was super organized and very knowledgeable on how the flow of a wedding should go. My husband said, "you can tell this is not his first rodeo" :) His online library of songs was very helpful when trying to decide on the perfect song for each part of the day! Absolutely had the best time with Erich & his amazing team! They made our party a blast and so memorable! We all had an incredible time and everyone loved them!! The Photo Booth was a huge hit!! Our experience with RoseCity Dj's was nothing short of AMAZING. Our guests raved about how great Erich and his team was! Not only was Erich and his team on site at least an hour before the ceremony started, but Erich was actually there at our rehearsal! I wanted a specific song to walk down the aisle to, and my husband didn't want to know what it was. Erich kept it a surprise until I was walking down the aisle and timed everything perfectly! On our wedding day, it poured and Erich's team was super flexible and moved inside a tent without any hesitation or complaint. I would HIGHLY recommend RoseCity DJ's for your wedding, you won't be disappointed.

The team at Rose City DJs was such a pleasure to work with! Eric was so flexible and accommodating to my requests even if they changed last minute. They were always positive and comforting which helped me to remain calm on my hectic special day. They are very professional and their sound system was amazing. My venue was held in the Governor ballroom at the sentinel hotel and that room is huge with very high ceilings. The team at Rose City DJs did an amazing job that there was no problem for everyone in the room to clearly hear the MC and music. I highly recommend Rose City DJs!!

Erich at Rose City DJ’s was great! We felt his prices were good, he was rock solid, on time, easy to work with, easy to communicate with and he made the transition between the pianist and himself smoothly. The wedding reception was great. He checked up on us the week of the wedding to make sure we were on target with timing and ran a tight schedule. Erich also gave us a recommendation for a lighting person (Casey). We ended up hiring him the day of the wedding and he was great too. We had a great experience with Erich from Rose City DJs! From our first meeting we learned so much from him about how a wedding is expected to go and then he worked with us to make it our own. We had some fairly unusual music selections and he was happy to accommodate us. We also had some very precise marks we were trying to hit during the ceremony and it went perfectly. I'm a tough grader and there is usually something that i can say can be done better, but i can't. Rose City DJ (and Erich) made my wedding. Erich and his team ROCKED our wedding!!! From beginning to end (first meeting to wedding day) he was EXTREMELY professional. He communicated well wether via email or phone call. He really listened to OUR needs/wants and was very accommodating with flexibility and suggestions. The fact he has been in the industry for a long time really made a difference to us AND to the final outcome. From our end, we saw Erich as the perfect host! He runs his floor with ease and class. Making him a PERFECT Master of Ceremonies. We also used his Photo Booth services. BEST.CALL.EVER. Our 200 guests were flipping over this concept! Erich Allen was wonderful to work with! He was quick to respond, flexible, professional, and fun to work with! He was very knowledgable and was able to give great advice. He truly helped make our wedding day run smoothly. He constantly checked in with us to make sure we were happy with things and helped us stay on schedule without rushing us. Erich and his team were fantastic at our wedding at Abernethy Center. Erich was very familiar with the venue, so his rapport with the Abernethy staff was so useful in everything running smoothly. He was very flexible about meeting beforehand, and when we met he presented us with a thorough picture of what we could expect if we went with him as our DJ. His website has several tools to help plan your wedding music and schedule, which is a lot easier than emailing back and forth or filling out a paper form. On the wedding day, Erich got all of his equipment set up well ahead of time. Once the reception started, he did a great job keeping good music playing. He organized all the toasts, special dances, etc, and even had some great suggestions for additional activities. Several of our guests came to us afterward saying how much they liked Erich and how packed the dance floor had been. I would 110% recommend Rose City DJs to anyone looking for a DJ who is professional, thorough, organized, affordable, and keeps the party going.

We hired Erich as our DJ, as well as the Rose City Photobooth, and both were awesome. I felt like we got a great value (the photo booth was discounted when booked with DJ services). Erich was a great MC, and got the party started, and kept it going. He was very familiar with our venue, Horning's Hideout, and provided microphones, dance floor lighting, and speakers. He was very easy to work with, and complied with all of our requests. And the photo booth was great! It was worth every penny--it got people involved and having fun, and the pictures are priceless--you can look at them over and over, and find something new to laugh at every time. I highly recommend using both Rose City DJs as well as their photo booth service.

Moments before I was supposed to walk down the aisle my father had to run to the restroom so we missed our que for when we were supposed to walk. Erich was able to flawlessly adjust the music so that the song didn't end half way down the aisle!! He kept the whole wedding running smoothly and on track for time. Erich with Rose City Dj's is an amazing MC and entertainer. The ceremony music was great and he made sure the bridal party walked when they were supposed to. When it came to the reception he went above and beyond. He was always entertaining and getting the crowd of 150 to engage. He was funny and helpful and intuitive. His equipment looked and sounded nice. Our dance floor was full all night up until the last song and even then people were yelling "encore!". His announcements were on point and he never skipped a beat. I've gotten so many compliments on how well he did and I would agree 100% and recommend him to anybody who wants to have a fun wedding!

Erich was an AWESOME emcee for my wedding. He was more than just a DJ. He was a host, keeps the party moving on time, he even escorted one of my grandmother's out at the end of the night! Our initial meeting with Erich was awesome. First and foremost he was professional and direct in communication and at the same time he was personable and made us feel very comfortable. Based on his website, reviews and initials emails prior to meeting we liked him; however, upon meeting him we instantly knew we wanted to have him as apart of our wedding. The day of the wedding he helped our bridal party time the walking with the music, he talked to us repeatedly to ensure that the timeline was going appropriately and how we wanted it, he played all of the music we wanted and in such a cohesive way. He helped to ensure that we spoke into the mic so that we could be heard at all times. I know that if I were to renew my vows or was planning a party in the future I would hire Rose City DJ. We also were having a destination wedding and lived out of state and Erich was so attentive and communicative. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Book this DJ, amazing experience.

Erich was an amazing dj and we couldn't be happier with our selection. On a very crazy, busy, hectic day he helped keep us on time and kept the entire wedding day fluid. Erich not only played our music selections (including acquiring some selections not previously in his portfolio), but he did an awesome job just being a dj and managing the number of special requests from our guests. He also helped us make the day a little more special for one of our best men's mother who shared our day with her birthday. Rose City DJs was absolutely amazing. They played amazing music all night long and kept people on the dance floor enjoying themselves. It was great having two members of their staff there to allow us to speak with one or the other if we had any requests or music so that we didn't have to distract the DJ. Erich was so open to ideas and helped us setup the flow of our ceremony as well as he ran the show throughout the reception. He was essentially our coordinator for the day and we feel it was an extra perk to having Rose City DJs. If we had to pick again we would no doubt about it go with Rose City DJs and Erich again because they were very professional and made our day as stress-free as possible.

Of all the vendors we worked with on our wedding day, I would have to say that Erich was the most incredible and far exceeded all expectations!!! It was very important for us to have a party ambiance, and someone who would direct the party... Erich was all of that and more! From giving a breakdown of toasts to the toasters, to getting people excited to dance, to reminding our groom to use the bathroom before formalities started, to making sure we had the toss bouquet ready... He covered it all!! He is more than just a DJ, he is a wedding coordinator - and a pretty kick-ass one at that! He even escorted us over to the buffet line so that we could get our food without being pulled in ten different directions. Not only does he play excellent music and get people excited to party, but he remembers every single little detail that you wouldn't even remember or think of until it was too late.

He made sure we were happy with the order of our reception, checked with us about timing and had suggestions to make each part (cake cutting, toasts, bouquet) all run smoothly. He made sure our guests didn't miss a thing. He gave tips to our toasters (the best man and a nervous bridesmaid) on how to use and pass along the mic, took music requests, and kept the energetic crowd dancing. Erich was a fantastic DJ! The music was great, but by far the most impressive thing that he did was coordinate seamlessly with the caterer and photographer to get everything done on schedule, when something didn't work he suggested ways to fix it and just took the stress off our shoulders so we could have a good time. His website is very handy for picking music and looking for ideas, you can search thousands of songs and flag them as "must play" or "do not play" or "play if possible." We thought Erich was very professional to work with, he really knows his stuff and unlike some of the DJs we met with, he was all about what WE wanted to do with our wedding! He's also much more affordable then others I have looked at. I got so many compliments about him, just the way he dealt with people and got the crowd going, people just loved him and were so impressed by how he managed the whole wedding!

Erich at Rose City DJ's was the best DJ we could have hoped for. Hands Down! My wife and I were most concerned about setting the tone of the reception (very type A personalities) with the help of the DJ and music, so we interviewed 5 different vendors in Portland. Erich had the most engaging personality of them all and was willing to play the music WE wanted while still catering to the audience. Also we should mention we were planning the wedding from another state, and Erich was always there to facilitate our questions. I even sent him a custom mixed song I wanted played, and a slideshow and he pulled everything off flawlessly.
His ultimate service package was also about +/- $1000 less than what other DJ companies wanted to charge too. We are late twenty-somethings and during the 5+hours he played the dance floor was completely packed and spilling over!! From the 5yr olds to the 70 year olds everyone had an amazing time dancing, even when the music was the contemporary style that we wanted played. We would recommend paying the extra money for the two flatscreens he brings, which adds to the party ambiance. He put up music videos on them, and intermixed photos of the bride and groom on them as well which was a nice touch. He had some great suggestions during the anniversary dances, and parents dances which made the night even more special. We can't say how grateful we are that we hired Erich and his team. If you're planning an event in Portland, don't even waste your time interviewing anyone else. Seriously!

We were always wondering if people really gushed when they wrote these reviews online, but when all expectations are exceeded it's so easy to write these kind of things. My husband and I got married in McMinnville at Youngberg Hill Inn and Winery. We selected Rose City Dj to provide our music. Erich was very helpful and experienced. Our DJ, Pippin, was excellent. We selected all the music that we wanted him to play and he created exactly the atmosphere we were looking for, tasteful and lively! We were so surprised to see how many people ended up on the dance floor. I definitely attribute this to Pippin's perception of what was necessary to plan and when. He also was very attuned to other parts of the event such as when people were giving speeches or making announcements. We would definitely recommend Rose City DJ to couples getting married in Portland and surrounding areas.

Erich and the Rose City DJs did such a fabulous job at our wedding. We had a very small wedding at Skamania Lodge and we not even sure that we wanted or needed a DJ. We had a great meeting with Erich at our home a few months before the wedding. He was very professional and fun to work with--during the meeting we decided that we indeed wanted a DJ and hired Erich on the spot. He was a wonderful value and uses a great online system that allows you to easily pick songs that you want played. At the wedding I didn't have to worry about anything--he was organized, prepared and everything came off without a hitch. But beyond the technical expertise he just has a great attitude and was a ton of fun. With mostly parents and just a few friends we were nervous that a DJ wouldn't quite get the "vibe" of our wedding but Erich is a consummate professional. I cannot recommend him and the Rose City DJs strongly enough. Thanks for making our wedding so much fun!

Erich from Rose City Dj was amazing! We couldnt have asked for a better DJ. He did everything we asked for and more. He has a website that actually allows you to select what song you want to use for each aspect of the wedding. It makes the whole wedding process way less stressful.

Everyone at the wedding loved Erich! He did a great job interacting with the crowd and kept people laughing and dancing all night long! Erich is the best DJ and if you dont hire him you will only have 2nd best!

Erich was our DJ for the ceremony and reception at our wedding a few weeks ago. He really went above and beyond when trying to make the event turn out perfectly. You can tell he absolutely loves his job and really loves every aspect of a wedding, not just the DJ part. He was there to lend a helping hand where ever needed and he simply wanted the wedding to turn out perfect. The transitions during the ceremony were timed beautifully and the reception was a blast. Many of our guests commented on how great our DJ was. We even had a few guests with birthdays and Erich was very happy to add a shout out to them during the reception. He is very responsive to any instant requests. Overall, he did a wonderful job and we would definitely recommend him.

Erich was the DJ for our wedding 3weeks ago at the Oregon Golf Club. It was absolutely perfect! He did such an amazing job. Erich from Rose City DJ was our DJ for our recent wedding. He was fabulous! The thing that sets Erich apart is that he acts as the DJ, emcee and wedding coordinator. He doesn't just stand up there and throw on some music, instead he interacts with the group and keeps everyone happy and dancing. He kept the party going all night by choosing music to fit our group and accepted requests to ensure that our guests had a wonderful evening. Erich's pricing was very affordable and he was quite flexible with meeting times and places. Rose City DJ has an online planning form that was easy to use for picking out music and deciding the order of events. Our wedding would not have been the same without Erich, we are both very glad we made the choice to have Erich as our DJ.

Erich had exceptional customer service, extremely knowledgeable and very personable. He made me feel like he was never too busy for me. At the wedding he was so perfect, everything ran better than I could hope for. He has great advice, and knows how to get things done right. Everyone in at the wedding was impressed with him, saying he's the best dj they have heard. I went to a wedding shortly after who had another top rater as their dj and let me tell you... I had the pleasure of working with Erich at Rose City DJ's to provide ceremony and reception music for my recent wedding at the Waterfront Marriott (downtown Portland). The entire process was flawless. The planning website is very easy to use, and our in-person meeting answered all of my questions and assured me that we had made the right decision. On the day of the event, everything went just as I had imagined. Erich's experience and professional judgement were perfect, and I would recommend him to anyone, no matter the size or location of the event.

My husband is the General Manager of a hotel that does weddings and events frequently; Rose City DJs is their preferred DJ, and it is very evident why.

Erich was AMAZING! He helped us with every little detail. From what type of song for the bouquet toss, to the unity sand, to the mother-son dance. If you don't have Erich at Rose City DJ's do your event, you will have a second rate DJ at best. Erich was much more than a DJ to us. He impressed us with his professionalism from the first meeting where he sipped on his "jet fuel" and took notes and offered advice on how/where to save money, all through the planning process, the day of the rehearsal when he took charge (politely) and organized the ceremony, and finally through our perfect wedding. Erich was by far the most important vendor at our wedding.
We received an amazing amount of compliments from our guests about Erich. We are in our mid-30's so we had a good mix of age groups; from small children up through mid-70's. Erich was appropriate, professional, respectful, and played a great variety of music. Considering our crowd, we were both fully surprised that Erich had the dance floor packed the entire wedding!
More than our florist, photographer, event coordinator, or the bakery we went through...Erich single-handedly made our wedding a perfect day. Erich is much more than a DJ and, we promise, you will NOT be disappointed if you choose his services.

For those of us putting on our "first" formal wedding, we found Erich Allen to be particularly helpful. He did the organizing, ran the rehearsal, and kept things going, which was amazing!!!!

We had nothing but positive feedback for him from our guests as well! We had a few special additions that he handled with no problems! We would totally recommend him for any event needing a DJ!!!!

Erich Allen is AMAZING!!! He made our experience at our wedding fantastic. He is definitely worth every penny. Really easy to work with and responsive. He was willing to meet with us before the wedding to discuss what we wanted and attended our ceremony rehearsal as well!!
