From the start, Meredith was incredibly responsive, professional, and easy to work with. She provided a proposal that incorporated everything we wanted for a reasonable price. Leading up to our wedding, we were able to adjust things with her input, and she was very honest with us about where to spend our money and where things were not worth an extra amount, which anyone will appreciate when planning and budgeting. On the day of, she delivered stunning flowers and also worked to set up the necessary items, and also took them down without us having to do anything extra, so we could just enjoy our day! Working with Meredith was an absolute pleasure and I would recommend her to any friend. -

Our florals were gorgeous - it was tough not to make the entire wedding album pictures of Meredith's chuppah, bouquets, and table arrangements! Meredith was conscientious, thoughtful, and creative. We loved working with her to make our very city wedding feel a bit more organic and wild. I only wish she offered florals for our daily life (I guess we'll just have to renew our vows soon!). We were especially impressed with her honest feedback about what we did and did not need to make our vision a reality. She was happy to factor specific preferences into our florals, but we had very few of those and she built amazing arrangements that perfectly captured what we wanted. -

Great team that perfectly executed our vision
We contacted Meredith quite some time before our wedding actually took place due to several COVID-related delays. She was excellent about maintaining contact with us and informing us of important deadlines approaching. We had our initial phone meeting with her where we described our vision for our florals and Meredith in her team were very excited about making it a reality for us. We wanted to have many marigolds or marigold-colored flowers as the main component of our arrangements and Meredith was helpful in informing us that that might be difficult given the time of year of our wedding and the sourcing of the marigolds. We were also working on making paper flowers for decorations and she said she would look at what we have and try and incorporate them into our arrangements and was honest with us in saying that if they did not look good with the real flowers she would not use them. We appreciated her honesty and were excited when she decided to use them in our arrangements. We finally got to see all of the pieces the day of the wedding and we were blown away! Not only did she seamlessly include our paper flowers in the arrangements, she also was able to acquire a significant number of marigolds! All of our guests loved the centerpieces and several of them could not tell our homemade paper marigolds were incorporated into the arrangements. We loved working with Rocking Bird Flower Co and will definitely recommend them to any and everyone! -

Where do I even begin?! Meredith is so incredibly talented and an absolute delight to work with.
She is knowledgeable, communicative, and flexible—everything you need in a florist, especially during these uncertain times. When we had to postpone our wedding, Meredith stayed in touch and made scheduling and coordinating with our other vendors a breeze. When I asked to use only environmentally sustainable mechanics in my centerpieces at the eleventh hour, she immediately pivoted and accommodated the request. Despite the busy wedding season, she went out of her way to incorporate a special stem in my bouquet—a stem that she happened to remember we were fond of but that was likely to be out of season by the time of our wedding. Somehow, she pulled it off. She really knows local growers. That matters.

Flawless execution of 2x-delayed DC wedding
Meredith and the Rocking Bird team were an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the wedding planning process, and we could not recommend them more highly.
We were originally scheduled for a September 2020 wedding and had to postpone twice due to COVID-19. Once cases settled down enough that our final date (October 2021) looked like a go, Meredith picked things up seamlessly, hosting us in her studio for a thorough (and fun!) discussion of my wife's vision and walking us through the flower selection and arrangement process. She was honest about how we'd get the best bang for our buck, straightforward about flower availability, and incredibly knowledgeable about the flowers themselves -- seasonality, color combinations, etc.
Meredith and her team executed the plan flawlessly on the wedding day despite torrential rain for the whole morning and afternoon (thankfully, almost all plans were indoors). We would recommend Rocking Bird to anyone without a second thought. -

Amazing Florist Experience
I can't say enough good things about Rocking Bird Flower Co. and Meredith! First of all, I'm one of those annoying people who had a concept in my head but couldn't really verbalize it. Meredith took my floaty ideas and made something concrete immediately. From our first conversation, I could tell how much effort she puts into each of her weddings. She kept me updated regularly throughout the process and made everything so easy. The flowers came out better than I ever could have dreamed and they set the tone for the wedding! We had to change our wedding to a microwedding because of Covid and the floral arrangements made the day feel like the wedding I had initially planned! Fantastic experience and I hope to be able to book Rocking Bird Flower Co. again sometime! -

Seemless and stunning from start to finish!
Rocking Bird was a dream to work with from our very first call to the day of wedding delivery and set up! It hasn't been an easy year to plan a wedding or be a vendor, but Meredith was flexible and understanding. She ended up creating gorgeous dried floral arrangements for our tiny elopement and then did our flowers for the big celebration as well. Meredith is a true artist and really made both of my visions come to life (even better than I could have ever imagined). She is so sweet, professional, and knowledgeable and helped me with a variety of aspects when it came to planning our wedding décor. I really can't recommend Rocking Bird enough! -

Working with Rocking bird, and Meredith, for our wedding was a dream come true during a very difficult time for couples and florist alike.
We started working with Meredith in 2019. We decided to push our wedding back a year due to Covid. Meredith was exceedingly accommodating and flexible despite a date change, the rising cost of flowers, and multiple changes to our agreement over the course of two years of wedding planning. What we received on the day of the wedding was beyond what I could have even imagined.

The most gorgeous flowers I have ever seen
From start to finish, working with Meredith was an absolute JOY! She is so easy going, organized, and a true gem to work with. Would highly recommend Rocking Bird Flower Co! I reached out at the very last minute for my intimate wedding in May (about two weeks). From the first email, Meredith had great communication and was so helpful. With a wet, cold spring, and many challenges due to the pandemic, Meredith was upfront with the reality of the situation, flexible when I continued to add/change my order, sent reference photos and spoke with me on the phone once she found out what flowers would be available. I went for more of a surprise for the look/feel of the bouquets and arrangements and it was more than I could have dreamed of. She provided me tips on how to care for the flowers, clear instructions for contactless pickup/what to expect, etc. Everything was STUNNING and to top it off the flowers were from two small, local, women owned farms. I'm so happy I contacted Meredith, everything was breathtaking and the little details made all the difference. There was even sage in two of the arrangements that we were able to make cocktails with a few days later. -

I'm happy we worked with Rocking Bird for our wedding flowers. We didn't need a ton of flower arrangements - just bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and decoration for our huppah - but I wanted the ones that we had to be special and local. I was grateful that Meredith was willing to work with us at a smaller price point than other florists in the DC area (and Meredith is just great to work with, period!). Would recommend. -

Meredith was one of the best vendor selections that we used for our wedding. We found her based on highly rated reviews and must say she lived up to every high rating. From the beginning to the very end she was very professional and thorough. We met for a consultation in person where she asked us several questions to know the look that we wanted for our big day. She was very honest and also welcoming, given we didn't know anything about flowers. She didn't condemn us for being totally clueless but instead explained everything and was very helpful. She also made sure she stuck with the budget that we presented instead of tryin to add on extra things. She was also very flexible with last minute changes and add ons that we had. Now, the most important part...THE FLOWERS!!!! OMG! THEY WERE SOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL! They literally made my bridal party's attire come alive with how beautiful they were. She had her assistant deliver them on the day of the wedding and the assistant was just as wonderful...she didn't just drop them off and leave, she stayed around to help us and placed them in water. Overall, wonderful experience and wonderful florist! -

Hiring Rocking Bird Flower Co. was integral in my ability to bring my vision for a “winter wonderland” wedding to fruition. Meredith personally worked to show me different winter greens, berries and flowers, that would create the look I was going for, and worked tirelessly to help decorate the wedding venue with amazing floral, greenery and other touches to make the space look stunning. We had the ceremony and reception at the same location, which required a tight room flip. Meredith stayed on site, assisting with the room flip and helping to ensure my vision was executed to a T. She not only provided personal florals, but also Harlow stands, garlands for the stairs, greenery for each place setting, greenery and berries for the cake, and loose greenery for decoration throughout the space and giving a wintry look. From the first meeting to our final design meeting, Meredith listened to my ideas and preferences and suggested amazing flowers and materials I had never even heard of. She was incredibly detail oriented and worked with my wedding planned to ensure clear role and responsibilities for every aspect of the floral design elements of the wedding. I was able to re-use her beautiful arrangements at my brunch the next day, and they stay alive an additional week making my home gorgeous. Meredith was a key part of my special day, and I could not recommend her more for helping any bride to achieve their dream wedding. -

Rocking Bird knocked it out of the park
What a joy it was to work with Meredith and Rocking Bird. I was a relatively non-traditional bride in that I did not have bridesmaids and did not want to carry a bouquet - even though those traditional flower elements were missing, what we did have was so spectacular that no one missed them. The theme for our reception was fall and we wanted our venue to feel much like coming over for a dinner party at our home. Meredith immediately understood the aesthetic that we were going for, helped us polish our ideas, and then worked some special elements into the centerpieces that made the final products truly unique. The fall blooms were gorgeous and colorful. The piece de resistance, though, was an INCREDIBLE mantelpiece that Meredith installed by hand on-site at the venue. Getting married in front of this beautiful creation was so special. We had event pros and landscape designers in our crowd who are very jaded about flowers, and this absolutely blew them away, too. I did not expect to be so excited by my flowers, but working with Meredith made me so enthusiastic to see them at the wedding. She could not have been kinder or more flexible. I am so grateful we had the opportunity to work with her! Thank you! -

BEST wedding florist
I was so so happy with my flowers from Rockingbird. I can echo other reviews that this you should absolutely go with Rockingbird on your wedding day. I know nothing about flowers and Meredith was so warm and helpful to guide me through the process. I also had a small flower budget for my wedding, which Meredith not only respected, but also offered tips on how to save costs. I love her style and all the personal flowers (bouquets, boutonnieres, etc.) were stunning. Hillary, the woman who actually prepared the flowers on my wedding day, was so wonderful. She even included some extra arrangements which was amazing. I simply cannot recommend Rockingbird enough! -

STOP YOUR SEARCH, DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200 AND HIRE MEREDITH. Seriously, she's that good. When looking for flowers in the DC area it can be overwhelming and even understand what is a "normal" expectation for a florist on wedding day. We found Meredith through our wedding planner Julie Park of Birch Event and Design and literally couldn't be happier with the decision. We felt as if flowers should be something that make our day more beautiful but certainly not something we had the budget to spend loads of cash on. Meredith met with us and outlined a plan for us that met our expectations (including my need for peonies in my bouquet) and even moreso - we signed immediately and it was a fantastic decision. Meredith sources flowers from local farms so everything you get is absolutely the freshest and beautiful. During our consultation in person, she did a mock-up and discussed what would look best and I'm so happy I listened to her on not going "all white" for our florals and added some color so our pictures weren't blown out and to add some warmth. On wedding day flowers arrived and myself, my bridal party and my entire vendor team were BLOWN away with the absolutely beautiful flowers that arrived. One of the first things my now husband said to me when he saw me at my first look was "the flowers are beautiful" and trust me, he's not the type to notice. We had a few hiccups with the boutonnieres for the men, but Meredith on the fly built new ones for my husband and reattached them as we were taking pictures. It was so seamless and shes's such a calming presence that until someone reminded me the next day, I hadn't even remembered. You will NOT regret hiring Meredith for your DC based wedding, trust me! -

Totally above and beyond
I couldn't have been more thrilled with the experience of working with Meredith at Rocking Bird for my wedding flowers! They took my wedding from beautiful to spectacular. I couldn't stop staring at them all day and weeks out, people are still commenting on how gorgeous and unique they were. Meredith was a dream to work with. She was incredibly patient and accommodating as we teased out my preferences and different color ideas. She is extremely knowledgeable and creative, and had tons of suggestions for how to create the effect I was hoping for without breaking the bank. I went into our consultations with one particularly meaningful element that I wanted to include (the favorite color of a late relative) but was having a hard time fitting it into the aesthetic I was going for. The best decision I could possibly have made was giving Meredith creative license to finalize the color scheme. The final result was absolutely luscious and totally blew me away. I also loved how she worked to minimize environmental damage and waste - she had even developed her own eco-friendly alternative to floral foam!
The flowers arrived fresh, glorious and right on time. Rocking bird went the extra mile to provide everything we needed - down to materials for diy aisle arrangements that were outside of our budget.
I truly can't say enough about Meredith and Rocking Bird. She completely exceeded all of my expectations. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!! -

Book Rocking Bird Flower Co!!!!
I can't recommend Meredith and Rocking Bird Flower Co. more emphatically! Our flowers were absolutely stunning and everyone at our wedding complimented us on our arrangements. We had really wanted our friend to grow our flowers on her farm, and we didn't know what flowers we were going to get until she showed up with the varietals that grew. Even though Meredith didn't know until the day of what flowers we would have, she did the most outstanding job arranging them all. She made huge bouquets for myself and my bridesmaids, lovely boutonnieres for the groomsmen and parents, and then stunning table arrangements in various sizes. The color and composition was outstanding. My husband later remarked looking at the photos that our flowers were just exquisite. He hadn't fully noticed all of these details the day of. :) On top of all of this, Meredith is just a joy to work with. She's sweet and fun and has fantastic taste. I cannot say enough good things about working with Meredith. It was such a pleasure to meet with her to discuss my vision for my wedding flowers. I was able to bring her photos of what I liked and she was able to design arrangements that were so unique and even better than the ideas I gave her! Nearly every florist in the DC area has a price minimum, but Meredith worked with our budget and was so flexible. Everything was beautiful... from the bouquets, to table arrangements, to the chuppah flowers. Afterwards, I was able to bring the arrangements into my office and they lasted for almost a week! We still have people telling us how beautiful the flowers were at our wedding. I would recommend Rocking Bird to anyone! -

She totally understood and executed what I wanted in our wedding color palette, delivery was seamless, and our flowers were stunning and so insta-worthy. I wish I could have an arrangement for every week. So many places in the DC area demand prohibitive minimums, and all this Colorado native wanted was a few unique bouquets & boutonnieres. Then I found Meredith. To all of you newly engaged folks out there, I can't recommend Rockingbird Flower Co. highly enough. She responded quickly to my initial inquiry, was very respectful of my budget, and created stunning free-form arrangements that surpassed my hopes. Plus, she's just a lovely human being who genuinely cares about using her artistic talent to make your wedding vision come true. And she is talented. I created my own centerpieces using old books & lanterns, and was struggling to find a way to add softening, natural elements. Meredith to the rescue with strewn rose buds and fresh seeded eucalyptus! When it came to the bouquets, she considered my color palette and recommended adding another shade to the arrangements, walked me through the various ways she could architecturally shape the bridal bouquet, and helped me find a way to include something meaningful in the ribbons in a nod to my grandmothers. I was speechless when I walked into our wedding venue and saw my bouquet for the first time. Meredith is simply masterful. I've included a photo of my bridal bouquet, which was absolutely stunning. Every arrangement she provided was just as beautiful.
To be perfectly honest, initially flowers were one of the things I was least excited about for my wedding. I'm not the creative/artsy type at all and have never really paid much attention to wedding details like flowers. That all changed when I met with Meredith. She is so wonderful to work with and looking at her work really got me excited. I wasn't sure at all what I wanted when I first met with Meredith, so I really let her run with it. She was also very cautious of our budget, which was great. The end result was incredible. So many of our guests have commented to us on how beautiful the flowers were. The flowers look so insanely beautiful in the photographs we've seen so far. Our flowers ended up being one of my favorite parts of the wedding.

We never met with Meredith in person, just over Skype. We gave her some vague ideas and what she produced was gorgeous. When my wedding dress changed, I emailed her a pic and she adjusted the colors accordingly with no problem. The berry + rosemary + greenery crown she made me was SO gorgeous that I wore it for two days. I never wanted to take it off! It made me feel like the queen of autumn. Her arrangements were wild and very textured and stunning. My bouquet could have had slightly longer stems for ease of carry, but it was glorious. Couldn't be happier!
