    Simply put, our most precious moments of our most special day were exquisitely captured through the talented lens of Bob Schnell Photography - we are absolutely blown away by our wedding photography experience. Bob & team crafted a gorgeous story of our wedding with intimate, elegant and timeless photos that captured every detail of the day that we wanted to remember forever.

    Finding a photographer turned out to the easiest part of planning our wedding. Bob was at the top of a short list of photographers we lined up interview and after our first meeting with him it was, well, a wrap. We knew right away that we'd found the right person to work with and turns out we were spot on- our experience with Bob & team was one of the highlights of the day! Attentive, fun, and focused, Bob effortlessly turned the difficult job of posing a stunned bride and groom and herding a wedding party into a really enjoyable time!

    Bob's talent and years of experience are evident through his work - it truly speaks for itself. Plus, we had the added benefit of working with Sarah, Bob's immensely talented (and hilarious) partner who brought the day and our final product all together. They both are extraordinary and distinguished themselves from other photographers work by the special attention to detail that just shines through in our finished product. Bob Schnell Photography has our highest recommendations; we could not have been happier with the experience they provided. Worth every penny.

    Bob was wonderful. He spent so much time with us and made sure that we got every shot we wanted! He really got to know us on a personal level and the pictures capture the true love and joy of the day. Bob was fantastic and we highly recommend him. On time, professional and truly a great guy all around.

    Bob is truly the best! I can’t express how pleased we are with our engagement and especially our wedding photos. So much planning and anticipating go into creating a wedding, and it takes a great photographer to capture all the moments you would normally forget. And Bob didn’t disappoint. He has a wonderful eye and an incredible way of capturing the essence of the day and the character of the couple. His efforts far surpassed our expectations—the quality, colors, and lighting all came out perfectly. And we love the naturalness, warmth, creativity, and sense of fun that went into every picture. Plus, he has a great sense of humor that put our nerves at ease on the big day.

    We really cannot thank Bob enough. Now we get to re-live our wedding day every time we look through our album. They have become lasting memories and will be treasured for a lifetime.

    Bob was awesome!!! He worked incredibly well with our crazy bunch of friends and family. He makes photos fun and somehow alleviates the awkwardness of someone taking "natural" pictures. Bob makes photos fun and knows how to make you look good. During our big day he did a great job blending into the background and making his presence known when necessary. Bob definitely knows his venues before any shoot. We would love to work with him again :)

    I was nothing but completely happy with my photos and having Bob as my photographer. He was on time, there if I had a question, and made the whole process worry free!

    I am a little late to the review game here, but it has to be documented that Bob is a wonderful, fun photographer! I probably wasn't the most organized "encore" bride and he just rolled with it...God love him! :) We were married outside and he captured THE MOST important moments to us at sunset! I could not have been happier with anyone else as my photography professional. My family and friends loved him and have enjoyed reliving the day through his work! He most definitely is the "photo dude" you want for any event!!

    What can I say about Bob. I should probably wait until I see all of my photos before I review him but I have complete confidence in the quality of the photos. Bob was a true pleasure to work with. My husband, wedding party, and I all have a very specific sense of humor (read: sarcastic) and Bob rolled right with us. We requested pictures with the PBR we were drinking before the ceremony and had a whole photo shoot that we think should be the next ad campaign. Bob didn't blink twice before embracing it. He worked with my husband and I to make sure that we got to spend the maximum amount of time with our guests but still got time to do photos with just the two of us. It was a blast!

    Bob Schnell is the man! This man was so easy to get along with. I can be shy and, admittedly, socially awkward. Not the case with him. I was so at easy with him and trusted him completely. The first attempt at my bridal portrait was rained out, Bob made every attempt possible to work with both my work and school schedule. His responsiveness was great. Very willing to hear you and what you want. His work is amazing. Extremely happy with how my bridal portrait turned out. Cannot wait to see what he does with our wedding photos! If you need a photographer, Bob Schnell is the man to talk to!

    We interviewed three different photographers, and what impressed my finance and I the most about Bob, was not only his professionalism, but his enthusiasm & passion about his work. He captured beautiful moments of our wedding which we will treasure for the rest of our lives. Bob is both personable and humorous, at the right times.....just an all around wonderful photographer. We would recommend Bob to anyone looking for quality photography & outstanding service.

    Bob and his assistant were extremely creative, professional, respectful and responsible photographers. They worked on both wedding and reception shoots. My husband and I were happy to that we choose Bob Schnell Photography.

    While searching for wedding photographers, we were looking for one that had a continuous flow of different shots while having someone easy to work with. Many photographers have a set style and don't like to get out of that comfort zone. Granted, it's probably what they do best, but there is a letdown since nothing changes after looking at 2 sets of photos.

    During the wedding, my four year old nephew had a little meltdown and Bob read the situation perfectly to make sure we got the best pictures! He did all of this and never offended anyone. The way he handled this situation was very very impressive.

    The pictures are charming and emotional, They really pay attention to the couple's personality which gives us a perfect day remember.

    My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Bob Schnell for our engagement and wedding photos. I will be the first to admit that I am not always the easiest person to work with. I am very picky and difficult at times and Bob was willing to take that on without a problem! My sometimes daily e-mails were always answered very promptly and whenever I found myself stressed out or nervous, Bob was always there to lend an ear to listen and words of wisdom. A matter of fact, I often referred to Bob as my fashionista (in a good way, of course)! He was my go to person for information about hair, make-up, dresses, cake, and anything else I needed his opinion on!

    We met with Bob nearly 8 months prior to our actual wedding date and we knew right away that he was the perfect photographer for us. His laid back personality, ability to go with the flow, and exceptional creativity was what drew us to him. He promised us PERFECT wedding photos, and that’s exactly what we got.

    We met him at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden’s on June 6th 2011 for our engagement photos. Summer had just hit us full force and it was over 100 degrees outside that week, but Bob was determined to beat the heat and get our engagement photos done. They turned out being the most beautiful photos I have ever seen and we have got an overwhelming amount of positive feedback on them. We LOVE them! Bob even featured our engagement photos on his blog!

    Our wedding ceremony and reception was held at a place called Garden’s By Pat out in Louisa, VA about 45 mins from Richmond. Bob had never shot there before and when I asked him if he would meet me out there to see the venue so he could familiarize himself with it prior to the wedding day, he agreed and went out of his way to meet me out there to see the place. He really went above and beyond doing that, and I am so appreciative. Bob and his assistant arrived early on the day of the wedding to make sure he captured all the right moments. Our wedding photos are absolutely beautiful and I find myself looking through them quite frequently. They say your wedding day is the fastest day of your life, and this is so true. I feel like I was only there for 30 mins and I am so glad I have all of these wonderful photos to look back on to remember the entire day. After all, in 50 years I won’t remember every event that took place on our wedding day, but I will have the photos to look back on to remind me. Thank you Bob for helping make our day EXTRA special! I can’t wait to work with you again sometime in the near future for pregnancy photos and family pictures of the newest Madison family! We love you!

    Bob was extremely professional during the whole process and we appreciated his artistic creative side in taking some cool shots that we would not have thought of during our wedding. The quality of the pictures is quite stunning too, he really made us look good!!

    We really enjoyed having Bob as a part of our special day. He seemed to capture every picture perfectly and was never in our face with the camera. It was a very hot day, and nobody wanted to be outside... but he took it like a champ! Bob has a crazy sense of humor and is down to earth, and we enjoyed that. He made plenty of jokes during the picture taking sessions, which made for a comfortable enviroment. We recieved the disc of our images in a timely fashion and are still looking forward to recieving our coffee table book. Bob also did our engagement portraits. He met us wherever we wanted to go and even dodged traffic to take some pictures. He is very flexible, takes some great shots, and is one of the more reasonably priced photographers in the area.

    Bob was nice enough to work with me on the price of the service he provided. I was very happy that he gave me the rights to all the digital copies. We didn't get any good pictures of the whole wedding party together (they were all very far away and shadowy). He didn't take any pictures of my husband by himself, and all of our family pictures were horribly blurry. He could have directed us a little more and told us where to stand for better lighting and things like that since we couldn't tell what we looked like. He later said that the lighting was poor at the reception, so he should have made an appointment with me to see the venue before the wedding so that he could have known to bring extra lighting.

    Kari does in fact make some valid points, and I have in fact modified how I do things these days as a response. Our contact up until the day of the wedding was entirely via phone and email; as they were from out of town. We never had an opportunity to get together to discuss details and the style of work they were looking for. This is something I now insist upon, to the point of including an Engagement session shoot in all my packages, as additional time we can get to know each other. I did not have the opportunity to take pictures prior to the ceremony of Tommy and the groomsman. In an effort to keep costs down, Kari asked me to arrive shortly before the service, which did not give me the allotted time I prefer to spend with the wedding party. However, I should have made up for this during the reception. The wedding party photos were taken in the only real appropriate spot; both from a lighting and ascetic perspective. That being said, I think the images are solid pictures that are clear, sharp and traditional. Sometimes you have to balance time, lighting and setting constraints when photographing a wedding. No excuse, but a reality of the business. Both Kari and Tommy were wonderful to work with, and I was happy to offer them a significant discount over my normal pricing to accommodate their budget needs.

    It has taken me 4 months to even write this review, because I have been so unbelievably heart broken by my wedding day photos. When my husband and I sat down to do our budget we agreed the most expensive thing would be our pictures because in the end thats all you have. In our meeting with Bob he told us that he would have an assistant the day of to make sure he could capture all pictures and angles, and that he would go to the site ahead of time because we were worried about capturing the twilight lighting and low light in the ballroom where our reception was. Neither of these happened, and his contract was so vague there were virtually no details in it, depicting what he had promised.
    I had sent Bob emails stating I wanted lots of pictures of husband and I alone. I have exactly 9 pictures of us, and many of them are awful, and dont capture our personalities or relationship at all. We got married outside in a beautiful park, and he lazily did pictures inside a basketball gym and they look AWFUL. None of them are usable. I have no cute posed pictures or of going on a walk like i had asked him of my husband and I. I was COMPLETELY APPALLED when I learned he didnt even stay outside for all of our wedding ceremony, he took a few pictures and then went inside to be in the AC, which I have proof on our video. For the record it was only 75 on our wedding day , and even if it were 105 that is what we paid him for! Because there was no assistant there is not ONE SINGLE shot of me walking down the aisle, or even a bridesmaid for that matter. All of the pictures in our reception are BLURRY and yellowy tint because he used the wrong lens/ flash. For what we paid we didnt get close to our moneys worth. He left early, and I had to remind him to take pictures of our rings. I will never get these pictures back, and now we are in debt for these blurry memories. Yes we own the rights, but I promise you wouldnt want to print majority of the pictures. I would be happy to show them to anyone who would like to see them. A refund is the very least Bob could do to make this right, because it has ruined my ability to have pictures of the most important day of my life.

    This review comes as a massive surprise. Both Lizz and Aaron were wonderful to work with during their engagement session last year, and we have kept in touch sporadically since then. Lizz has always been sweet and funny. I have not heard from her since the wedding more than 5 months ago – which is why I am so floored by hearing of her unhappiness here first.
    I understand they are both upset and have had some conversations with Aaron to attempt to understand their concerns and address the matter if possible. There are, however, a few items I would like to point out as inaccurate – or at the very least, inaccurately perceived.
    - I did visit the venue before the wedding date, and I had actually photographed a Bar Mitzvah there the year before.
    - I absolutely DID NOT go inside during the ceremony to avoid the heat – and object strenuously to the characterization of laziness! I am on my feet for almost every minute of every wedding I photograph. That is what is required and I am happy to do it to capture the event. I was all over the patio space where the wedding was held and took more than 74 images of the ceremony alone – as well as several of Lizz going down the aisle. I did go into the foyer area beside the patio for a few moments to explore other angles. In a non-traditional wedding space, I like to try options that are not possible in a church
    - I took many traditional (and relaxed) portraits of the wedding party and the couple after the service. One series was in an empty gymnasium with lights for a dramatic look. This was an experiment and i only took a few moments with it anyway. I also asked many times if there were other shots they wanted and they both said no. Time and outdoor lighting were becoming a factor at that time of day. At the risk of sounding like I am making excuses; weddings are very fluid events and there is no guarantee that every requested shot can be captured – which is covered in my contract (in virtually every photographer’s contract)
    - The only blurred images in the reception were the ones I intentionally shot with a slow shutter to show the motion of the dance floor. These are a small minority of the total number of reception images. I shoot with 2 cameras to again, give my client options.
    - I did forget to do the ring shots before Lizz reminded me, guilty and no excuse
    Obviously she is unhappy and i have already reached out to her about this matter, but have not been able to speak with her directly. I would have appreciated being approached about this first however, but I am still attempting to discuss their concerns.
