The Best Decision

We cannot recommend Robert enough. He was such a pleasure to work with from the very start. We were lucky enough to be traveling in Italy at the same time and he first took our engagement photos for us while in Rome. We had a very limited time window to meet with our travel schedule and Robert made it happen capturing the most gorgeous photos. On our wedding day, he kept us on schedule all day while never feeling rushed and he made the whole process so enjoyable. He is professional, efficient and easy to work with. Not to mention, our photographs came out absolutely stunning. Working with him was the best decision.

Beautiful photos, wonderful experience

Robert was a stellar photographer, and we could not be happier with how our photos turned out! He has a fantastic eye, and we were so impressed by his ability to capture photos that are stylish and refined, but also completely authentic to us as a couple. He's friendly and very easy to get along with, and really spent the time to get to know us and our style before the ceremony. Everyone at our venue and in our party loved him as well - he's able to direct and suggest photos in a way that brings out the best in everyone without feeling pushy or staged. We had lots to worry about on our wedding day, but we never felt nervous about how the photos!

Book robert asap!

I originally found Robert off Instagram when searching for a wedding photographer. My husband and I were blown away by his esthetic eye and ability to capture the authentic relationships with a sophisticated look. From the moment we reached out to Robert, he was prompt in his response and helpful in suggestions for the wedding day. He was very kind and interested in getting to know us as a couple. On the wedding day Robert was prompt, efficient, and an absolute expert in helping us capture the day. When we received our photos, we were blown away! Incredible Photos!

We did a ton of research on potential photographers for our wedding, but Robert was the one and only photographer we met with - after seeing his photos, we knew we didn't want anyone else to shoot our wedding! The wedding photos are better than we even could have imagined. We received them a few days ago, and still cannot stop staring at them. Not only are they beautiful, but Robert also captured so many little moments from our wedding day - hugs and tears and glances - that make them so special to look through and such a great reminder of the day. Robert was also professional and easy to work with. He didn't leave the wedding until making sure every single photo we wanted had been taken. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Robert exceeded our expectations!

Robert exceeded our expectations in so many ways as our wedding photographer and captured the absolute best moments from our wedding. One thing I was looking for in a photographer was someone to capture the moments that weren’t staged. The raw, unfiltered moments that show the true emotion that we felt, and Robert did just that and more. We met with Robert before our engagement shoot for a drink so we can get to know eachother. Robert is kind, understanding and just a cool person to be around. He made us feel calm and comfortable. His photos from our engagement shoot and wedding wound up being everything we could have asked for and more! Robert is a true artist!

We chose Robert because his moody shots stood out among the wedding photography we’d seen and his work did not disappoint. Our photos are absolutely stunning - we’ve gotten so many compliments. He and his team really captured every moment perfectly. We couldn’t be happier with the results and will cherish these photos forever. The besttttt

I came across Robert’s instagram a few days after getting engaged and just knew I had to have him shoot our wedding. We met with him (on zoom during Covid) and knew we were going to book him before we even booked our venue. Once we finalized our venue we immediately booked and are so happy we did. He is literally one of the coolest, chillest people you will ever meet and takes the time to get to know his couples and understand your vision. He was organized, personable, and kind during the entire process as well as on our wedding day. It was literally like having a friend walk around and take our photos. He fit right in with the group and we had a great time working with him. We loved all of our photos so much from the engagement shoot to the wedding day, he is really so incredibly talented at taking amazing photos that capture all the emotions!

Your search is over!

Robert is simply the best. As a former professional model for over 10 years I knew my search for a wedding photographer would feel almost impossible. After MANY months of searching and many profiles viewed my exasperated husband showed me Robert's profile off Instagram and I just knew he was it. Fast forward to our first video call where his cool calm demeanor sealed the deal. He confidently explained to me that while I had extensive experience in front of the camera that wedding photography entails more then getting the shot. It's knowing when and where to be, its corralling everyone from aunt sue to your maid of honor, its politely getting random people passing by OUT of your shots, its having a running list of every photo you know you want (and some you didn't know you wanted) in your head. Robert does ALL of this and more. In addition to his beautiful style and way of editing you get his years of knowledge. In an industry that is full of over the top personalities Robert is a breath of fresh air and a calm that you will need on your big day. Book him and you will not regret it.

The Absolute Best!

We worked with Robert for our engagement photos, our city hall ceremony, and our reception. We actually booked him before we even got engaged because I knew the proposal was coming, and we knew vendors were going to hook up fast for 2022 weddings. We had an initial consultation with him and knew immediately he was who we wanted to hire. And he was so much fun to work with! So down to earth and easy to communicate with. It really felt like a long-time friend was behind the camera when we did our photos each time. He followed us around the city and captured our special moments perfectly. Any time we need professional photos in the future I will 100% book him.

A legit professional

My fiance and I got married on October 1 in Brooklyn. Robert was our photographer, and he was as excellent as advertised. Starting with our engagement photos and continuing to the day of our wedding, Robert was responsive, collaborative, and professional, even during what was widely-reported to be one of the busiest wedding seasons on record. He encouraged us to be ourselves on camera, and results speak for themselves: the photos came out looking unique, artful, and very "us." Phenomenal Photos

Robert was a literal dream come true. We had a few meetings planned with other wedding photographers, but as soon as we met with Robert, we knew exactly that we only wanted to work with him. We met for a drink to chat about his work and our expectations and it was like we had been friends for years. He understood our vision, what was important to us and provided excellent suggestions.

The package we chose included both engagement photos and wedding/reception photos.I couldn't have asked for better photos to remember a whirlwind of a day. I knew that I wanted candid shots, as well as the typical bride/groom photos and he provided both with ease.

Robert's ability to always find the best light, colors and backdrop is a talent that not everyone has. He blended in perfectly with our guests. Everyone, including our parents, were impressed with his friendly candor and ability to have fun but also get the job done. I would, without a doubt, recommend Robert for your big events in life. Stop the search you’ve found your photographer!

Robert took our engagement pictures a few months before the wedding. We grabbed a drink with Robert and got to know him more which helped make us feel more comfortable taking pictures with him. They turned out amazing and it was the perfect opportunity for us to understand his photography style in action before the wedding. Robert was a pleasure to work with both professionally and personally leading up to the wedding and especially on the day of the wedding itself. His calm demeanor, along with his incredible second shooter, Jen, helped us stay comfortable and relaxed while taking pictures (and in hot NYC August heat too!). Robert and Jen were genuinely fun to have around on our wedding day. When our coordinator wasn't with us to take pictures in Dumbo, Robert took lead in successfully navigating our large bridal party. Somehow, Robert and Jen managed to make every single one of our guests look their best in our wedding photos. Our experience on our wedding day and the pictures with our memories are perfect and we couldn't recommend Robert enough. Our wedding photographer was the most important vendor for us to book and Robert exceeded our expectations!!

The best. Book immediately

When our photographer pulled out less than a month before our wedding, we went off of a friend's recommendation and called Robert. Thank GOD that photographer pulled out. Robert went out of his way, changing his travel plans to accommodate us. We met with Robert before our wedding and he immediately put us at ease - he is down to earth and gives off extremely calming vibes. On the day of - it was like having a friend hanging out taking photos. When we got our photos back my jaw was on the ground. There are no words to describe how amazing they are - we could have not asked for better photos, the most important memory of a day that went by in a blink. Friends who saw could not commenting that they were the best wedding photos they had ever seen. If you don't have a photographer booked - book Robert IMMEDIATELY.

Go with Robert Carlo!!

Robert popped up on our search for a photographer and from the moment we saw his photo style we were hooked. We love the way he captures candid moments so effortlessly and doesn’t necessarily “stage” his photos. We loved his previous work and decided to meet with him for a drink to talk more. We felt immediately comfortable and left knowing he would be our photographer and we were SO EXCITED. Well, then COVID happened. We didn’t know what we were going to do but we felt hellbent on pushing forward and having a wedding of some capacity. Robert assured us he would work with us this year or we could postpone until next year. We felt relieved he was so helpful and understanding. Robert and his second shooter, Jen, were so professional and calm during our big day. They listened to all of my crazy ideas (bridezilla) and got SO MANY awesome shots. Like every bride on here, my fiance and I felt the same way. We are VERY picky when it comes to photos. I looked at over 20 different photographers before finding Robert. From the moment we spoke, i knew he was the perfect choice. He works off of the couple, and before we booked him, he wanted to meet us, to get to know our "vibe". BOOK HIM! Insanely talented (and fun)

My fiancé and I are unbelievably picky when it comes to photos of ourselves, so we knew the moment we got engaged we'd need to find a wedding photographer that could put us at ease. When we met Robert there was an instant connection. He was friendly, cool, and professional - we booked him almost instantly. When we met Robert in Brooklyn for our engagement shoot a few months later we had an absolute blast (and that means a lot coming from two people who hate having photos taken). He made us feel comfortable, took control, and the photographs turned out magnificent. Did I mention the photoshoot took place during COVID...? Best Wedding Vendor/Partner We Had

We were so impressed seeing Robert in action at one of our best friend's weddings that we made sure he was the first vendor we booked for our wedding - a solid 2 years in advance of the day. We were immediately struck by his uncanny ability to be everywhere at once and capture in-the-moment pictures that were just as amazing as the poised and posed shots. There was no doubt that he had to be part of our special day! And we were lucky to book him when we did - he’s definitely in demand (so book him ASAP).

Rarely have I been so impressed with a photographer's work. His passion for what he does comes through in every photo and his excitement and energy helped remove any nerves we had in front of the camera. He was willing to go anywhere and everywhere to capture the shots we had envisioned and those we hadn't - he quickly registered the room aesthetics or spaces throughout Nomad so we could get truly unique shots to commemorate the day. He was able to seamlessly herd two large and loud Italian/Irish families into perfect shots in a quick and efficient way - there was no loitering (and for that, grandma was especially appreciative).

You can trust Robert to capture your day in the best possible way, from those tiny details you put so much time and energy into, to the love and excitement that will undoubtedly permeate your celebration.

Skilled photographer, stunning photos!

Robert is a seasoned professional and his dramatic, intimate photography style beautifully captured our fall wedding in Astoria in November 2019. Through his experienced lens, he was able to document so many lovely moments with me, my husband & our dog before the reception, and during the event, he was everywhere at once shooting all the action! The results were stunning, and with all the amazing shots he gave us, the hardest part was selecting which pictures to frame. Robert is absolutely incredible. Highly recommend!

I only regret that I have but one wedding for him to shoot.

If you want a photographer you can trust implicitly, then stop right here and hire Robert. With a level of talent that can only be described as wild yet casual, I only regret that I have but one wedding for him to shoot. And once I get our shots, I can't guarantee I won't try to ask my husband to do it again- just for the photos.

When it came to wedding photography, I had a general idea of what I wanted but was looking to have more of a collaboration with our photographer rather than handing him a list of shots I wanted. I am generally a pain in the ass when it comes to aesthetics, and somehow Robert not only got into my head to make my visions come true, he far exceeded my expectations and threw in a healthy dose of ideas I didn't even know I wanted for my day. We also had engagement shots done with him last year, getting a sneak peek of his talent, but I was truly blown away when he shot our wedding.

Robert is quietly passionate and fiercely talented in a fashion that is truly unparalleled, and it shows in his product. What's even more comforting- especially on what is a truly hectic and stressful day- is his laid back, casual professionalism. He manages groups of people so insanely well and with an abundance of patience that doesn't betray a single ounce of panic on his part. He also works incredibly well on the fly and will work with you seamlessly in the event that things go a little belly-up. Robert knows his stuff and if you let him, he will make gods out of monsters for you. Hire him or let him be a favorite secret for a select few- the choice is yours.

Great to work with - thanks for the amazing photos!

During our search for a photographer, we had a very specific idea of the style we were looking for - journalistic, not overly posed, sharp. When we came across Roberts’s portfolio, his work really stood out as being exactly our type, so we were very excited that he was available for our date. Leading up to the day, he really listened to our vision, and was super flexible, accommodating & easy to work with throughout, especially during our engagement shoot. On the wedding day itself, both Rob and Jen, his second shooter, went above and beyond, running around various sites to capture moments we’d have never expected, and being super attentive to every detail. They really made guests feel comfortable in front of the camera, without being overly intrusive. We were especially impressed by Robert’s ability to capture people enjoying themselves - our photos were filled with genuine laughs all around, and plenty of dancing. Amazing work!

Robert shot both our engagement photos and our wedding day and captured everything beautifully! Our engagement was in Long Island City approaching golden hour (which we just learned was a thing!) and Robert made sure the most perfect images were captured. So Talented !

I can’t say enough goods things about Robert Carlo. I absolutely love our wedding photos and I can’t wait for another big life event because I will hire him again! We actually live in Boston but got married in New York so it was really important to us to hire a photographer that was not only talented but also reliable. Right away, Robert was extremely responsive and maintained constant communication by following-up with emails and phone calls to make sure we all were all the same page. As a photographer, he made sure to capture everything on our Wedding Day that was the most important to us. Robert is so creative and such an all-around cool person, you will be so happy with your decision to hire Robert and you will have beautiful photos to last a lifetime.

Absolutely Perfect!

Robert was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He really got to know my husband and I and listened to what we wanted our photographs to emanate for both our engagement session and wedding. He was easy going, comfortable to be around, positive energy, and super talented. For both sets of photographs his turn around was incredibly fast. My husband and I loved our engagement photos and were thrilled to have Robert there on our wedding day making us feel calm and comfortable every step of the way. When we received our wedding photographs we felt like we had hit the jackpot - he captured the essence of the entire day absolutely perfectly. Would recommend him highly to anyone!

Gorgeous Photos and Excellent Photographer

Robert Carlo is THE best photographer ever. When my now husband and I were looking for a photographer, my mother recommended I look at a number of photographers her friends’ adult children had used for their weddings. I also did my own research into the black endless hole of photographers on The Knot and Wedding Wire- which is where I came across Rob’s page. His photos immediately stood out to me - they were artistic but more importantly, everyone looked gorgeous in his photographs. He also had excellent reviews and his prices were fair. When talking to my husband about the photographers I had looked through, I remember saying to him (about Rob Carlo), “I know this will be your favorite, but look at the others too.” After reviewing all the photographers together, it was no contest. We wanted Rob to be our photographer and I am so glad we hired him. First of all Rob is just an awesome nice guy and tends to have a calming effect on people, which is especially important if you’re getting married. He is prompt, professional, and fun. When he works an event, he takes a gazillion photos. Also, in both our wedding photos and engagement party photos, everyone looked amazing (especially me and my hubby). He really captured the essence of the events, as well as who my husband and I are as a couple. He also gets bonus points for managing stressful family dynamics and making everyone feel comfortable. Furthermore, the other photographer who assisted him at our wedding was also excellent. We love Rob and if we ever have to hire a photographer again, he is the only one we would call.

Finding the right photographer was the hardest part of planning our wedding. We chose Rob as our photographer for our wedding, and it was one of the best decisions we made. We were very focused on finding the perfect photographer for our wedding, and we were so relieved when we found Rob on WeddingWire. From the first time we met in his studio, he put us at ease, and we felt like old friends. We were sold on his portfolio alone, but he is also a genuinely great guy who is a pleasure to be around. He is truly an artist and has such an amazing eye for capturing modern and classic shots. Our venue is very dimly lit, so we were worried that our reception photos would all have the terrible glare from a flash or be in black in white. Rob blew us away with his technique for beautifully capturing our reception without having to default to black and white photos like less experienced photographers would. Many of our guests commented on how skilled he was at capturing moments throughout our wedding without being obtrusive. He provided us with a range of stunning photos from the formal family shots to his creative street shots to the reception candids. For our wedding, we worked with Rob and his second photographer, Jen, who was also a pleasure to work with. We couldn’t be happier with our photographs and our experience, and we cannot recommend Rob highly enough. If you have the opportunity to work with him for your wedding or event, it will be the best decision you make!

Choosing our photographer was one of the most important parts of our wedding planning since we knew that the photos would be the one thing we’d keep to remember the day and eventually even pass down. We also really liked the idea of finding someone who had shot other weddings at our venue, so we’d have a chance to see how our own photos could look. Robert was recomnended by our venue, The Deity, and after checking out his work, booking him was an easy choice as we liked his style and ability to capture events in a very natural way.

Communicating with him before, after, and on the day was easy and reliable, and he was very flexible with timing and locations as well. We had both Robert and his second photographer Jen working with us on the day, and they both captured some amazing moments for us that we absolutely love! We’re really happy with the final images, and the feedback from our family and friends has been wonderful too. Also, a great value for the overall package, especially for NYC.

Robert did an incredible job at capturing the day! He was so quick and efficient that we were 2 hours ahead of schedule and there wasn't a single stress. He was quick, yet steady with the camera. He made us feel at ease, and we all just had a blast through the whole process. Also, he was barely visible throughout the wedding but didn't miss a beat - he captured every special moment. I couldnt say enough good things about my Wife and I's experience with Robert. He was met us in-person to discuss his style, which is all about capturing real moments and letting you just experience the love of Family and Friends. He met us a couple weeks out from the event to scout locations and on the day of he was trooper following us around and providing an assistance Jen, who was amazing as well. Aside from your choice of partner, the photographer is probably the most important decision you’ll make about your wedding. We feel so lucky to have found Robert Carlo. There is not a single photo he took that we don’t absolutely love from our wedding day.
If you can book Robert, do yourself a huge favor - lock him in and turn your focus to other details of planning your wedding. He is a professional through and through, an absolute pleasure to work with, and you will be Thrilled with the photographs he captures of your special day.
Although just reviewing Robert’s portfolio had me sold (his work has that artistic and technical composition of high-end fashion/magazine photography), his presence added something so unexpected to our day – the Fun we had taking pictures was so obvious in the final product. He added perfection to an already flawless day.
Robert was so effective in making us laugh and feel comfortable in front of the camera, we can look at our photos and in every single shot, instantly invoke the magical emotions of our day.

Robert Carlo is TOP notch! We were thrilled when contacting him that he was availiable on our wedding day the 10th of June. He was truly professional and attentive to our ideas along the way, and listened to how we wanted our photos. He replies fast and even though we live in Stockholm he wanted to call and chat over the months to get to know us and our story! I went to NYC in November to recog and was able to meet up with Robert and we went through the timetable on the the big day etc even if it was 6 months in advance of the day! It is easy to work with Robert, everything is possible and nothing is a problem. He is honest, very genuine and truly loves what he does. The photos came out amazing and we wouldn't have wanted them any other way! We would recommend him any day of the week to weddings, engagements and any private event!

Robert was the perfect match for the style we were looking for for our wedding! Afraid of falling into the trap of cheesy wedding photos & having never been professionally photographed before - the second my husband and I met Robert, we knew he was our guy! His relaxed, authentic style and eye for elegance truly caught our attention and his work did not disappoint! After getting to know him and having a great engagement session done, he was such a pleasure to work with on our wedding day! SO easy going, flexible and classy....he helped capture amazingly beautiful moments for us on a very rainy New York day :) All of our relatives loved him and found him so easy to work with...all the while keeping us relaxed and calm in an otherwise hectic, jam-packed day! We did not know Robert Carlo prior to meeting him in Manhattan except for what we saw on his website and having his pictures speak to us. Robert is very friendly and has a unique style that really brings his pictures to life. We all got along from the beginning. He got to know us as a couple and, after explaining his style and professional experiences, he made us feel very comfortable. Robert was excellent at following up on any questions we had and put us at ease, especially in front of the camera as my wife and I prefer to be behind it. The day of the event he started shooting early and did not stop until the final song was finished. Even after the wedding he kept us updated on when the pictures would be ready.
I have no hesitation on recommending Robert and would absolutely use him in the future.

Robert Carlo’s photos made me feel like an old time movie star. We looked elegant and romantic. I was 1month postpartum and I feel so beautiful when I look at our wedding photos. Robert was also organized, professional and punctual, all of which contributed to our smoothly run day. It was probably 20 degrees out and we had a newborn waiting for us at the venue. In a small window of time, he was able to photograph us in a way that captured the local area, holiday/winter season and mood of the time of year perfectly. Choosing him will be the easiest thing to check off your wedding to do list. My advice is if you have specific needs or ideas, share them with Robert. He is very responsive.

We were looking for a photographer that captured moments rather than your standard cliche wedding pictures and Robert fit that bill. When we first met Robert, one of the main things that stood out was how he presented himself. He seemed genuine and honest and overall, was just himself. Often, you find people in the wedding industry to be arrogant or they try to sell you on something you don't want, but Robert was not like that at all.

He also has some work of a videographer that we also ended up using. I don't think we would've ever found the videographer without Robert.

We also liked the way his packages were structured while also being very easy to make any changes to it if we wanted. We ended up going with the Gold package and adding on an extra parent album. Robert stayed until the last song and the pictures came out great!

We highly recommend Robert if you're looking for someone that is approachable, genuine and takes great photographs :)

How can I stop saying how awesome Robert Carlo is!!!! Robert has some SERIOUS talent. Our wedding photos look INCREDIBLE! He has a great eye for all the details and is super creative. Our wedding day threw us a curveball with some unexpected rain which came down on and off. Not only was Robert cool about everything, but he STILL made everything happen outside at our photoshoot in Dumbo successfully. The entire photoshoot was an integral part of the wedding experience which we had no idea would be so special. Robert was super cool from day one - so easy to work with, funny, friendly, responsive....the whole package. If we need a photographer for anything else in our lives - big or small, Robert is the person we are hiring.

Robert did a phenomenal job photographing my wedding, one of the best vendors I hired for the day hands down. Prior to our big day, he went to visit the sites where we planned to take photos and scoped out all the best spots with optimal lighting. He had so much energy and was 100% "on" capturing the whole day, from getting ready until the very end of dancing. We were taking photos in a crowded park and he had a solid plan going in to make our use of time most efficient. Robert made us feel very comfortable and natural (no forced awkward poses at all) and I felt like the most beautiful bride. The pictures turned out amazing, most could fit in any magazine. We will treasure them forever!

We’re incredibly picky. Not the close-minded type of picky that's uninformed & limited by inexperience. More like the type of picky that results from having a clear, concise & singular vision—& a determination to not waver from it. This is, after all, the one day in our live's when compromise is not an option. Naturally, booking our venue & vendors was an arduous process. Finding a person that could share our vision from behind his or her lens however—that was the toughest decision of them all.

We interviewed dozens of talented studios & photographers. Many simply weren’t the right fit. Others rejected us. We were specific about what we did & didn’t want, & some studios feared they’d be unable to make us happy. But our pursuit of happiness while being picky was nonnegotiable. The margin for error is too small & there are no practice runs or do-overs. Ultimately, our pursuit lead us to the Bushwick studio of Robert Carlo.

Robert wasn’t intimidated by our vision at all. In fact, he appreciated the care we took in the selection process. It’s the same care with which he approaches his craft, whether it be wielding the camera, framing or even editing shots. It’s the same care he takes to make you feel at ease. He will even tell you that the more relaxed you are, the better the results will be. (I can tell you now how right he is about that).

What attracted us to Robert was his shooting style. It’s stylish yet timeless. His sense of lighting & color is subtle, sophisticated & elegant. On the day of, he blends into the blur & emerges days later with an honest & beautiful recreation of events. Robert is a rock star, one who does it for the love of craft, & to distill a moment or emotion that conveys the wonder & joy of life’s biggest occasion. His work is so important because it's content is the eternal story of love, & through his camera Robert endeavors to remind you each time you review your photos just how unique & special your story is.

Robert was an incredible photographer during my wedding day. Robert was very transparent with what would work and the best way to ensure that we got the best possible shots on our wedding day. He shoots extremely quick and is still able to get amazing shots. Our bridal party barely noticed he was around during the ceremony and reception yet he got some of the most incredible candid moments of everyone at the event. Robert's photojournalism style ensures that your wedding photos will feel elegant and timeless for years to come.

If you are worried about the posing for photos the same way I was, he is extremely helpful in positioning anyone in a photo to make sure they all feel natural and authentic. Also, if you are getting married in Deity in Brooklyn, it is important to have someone who knows the space and lighting and he was terrific!

Real. Romantic. Polished. Quick. Calming. Professional. Experienced. Patient. Flexible. These are a fraction of the words our friends and family, and us, use to describe Robert and his work! Do yourself a favor, and book him immediately!!

PLANNING: Robert was quick to respond, offered to grab a beer and get to know us as a couple. Unfortunately, we passed on the beer, but since we stumbled across his work, we worked all the details out via email. Our contract and payment were processed quickly. Robert reached out to us closer to the wedding to go over a day-of agenda. We didn't use a planner so I (the bride) put one together. He gave feedback on the flow, and it became extra apparent Robert is a seasoned professional as a photographer, specifically weddings...especially in Brooklyn.

WEDDING DAY: Robert was early and flexible with the inevitable mayhem. He worked seamlessly with our videographer to set up shots, and was patient as the wedding party organized ourselves. He was very calm, and communicated when we could relax and take our time and when we needed to get it together to stay on track. Robert is FAST (even our videographer said he's one of the fastest photographers he's worked with) and is self-assured with his camera. It allowed everyone to relax and have fun. We shot at 3 locations, our host hotel, the Brooklyn Bridge and at our venue. Lighting is different in all locations, and all our photos came out beautifully.

AESTHETIC: We did not want a lame wedding photographer with over-editing. Robert shoots in a documentary-stye, which we LOVE. Our photos came out with a realness, grit, and soft romance to them. They're an honest representation of the day. Robert also picked up on the goofiness my husband and I have, and threw in candids that turned out to be some of our favorites!

Our experience with Robert was nothing but wonderful. Robert was very flexible with us on the timing/location of our engagement shoot and showed up ready to go. I was worried that a shoot like that would be kind of stiff and awkward, but Robert made it so fun and not uncomfortable at all. We did our engagement photos in Grand Central and Central Park, and the results were fantastic. He provided us with so many beautiful photos that we are still getting compliments on. I cannot recommend him enough!

We met with a bunch of photographers before we met Robert but we knew he was the one we wanted to hire immediately after meeting him. He made us feel at ease from the start. I never felt like I needed to instruct him or be on top of him, which is great because wedding planning is stressful as it is, it's nice to be able to trust your vendors. He is super cool and laid back, someone you want to spend the day hanging out with. We got married on a rainy/cold day in November, which wasn't for taking pictures outside. But Robert was able to make the absolute best out of the situation. We have AMAZING pictures outside. He is great at capturing moments. When you go through our pictures you can feel the emotion. All of our friends/family keep telling us how incredible our pictures are. He also delivered the pictures a month after the wedding, he has a great turnaround time! I would definitely recommend Robert as a wedding photographer!

Robbert it AMAZING!! We met Robert at his studio in Brooklyn and immediately had a great connection and I knew he would be the perfect person to capture our special day. He's professional, yet so relatable. His work speaks for itself, but I find it's so important to make sure you're comfortable with who will be shooting these special moments and I knew Robert was the one to capture these moments and tell our story.

Robert shot our engagement photos a few weeks after we met him, about a year prior to our wedding to get to know us better and give us a sneak peak at how amazing the wedding day would be. We wandered around the city for an afternoon in the early fall. Robert captured some amazing shots from the middle of Park Ave, through traffic and along the sidewalks. He also made sure to get some extra special shots with our little Chihuahua :) When we received the photos, I was extremely happy and wanted to frame them all!

On our big day, Robert came to the Bridal B&B and his assistant, Bruna, went to the Groom's B&B. All of my friends and family instantly adored Robert and felt so comfortable around him while we got ready. He's not one for posed shots, which I like, but made sure to get just enough and capture those great in the moment memories. From the ceremony to the reception, Robert and Bruna were incredible! They worked with the wind and cold weather to get us our portrait shots and then worked their magic around the room for the whole night. When I received the photos I was OBSESSED! I looked through them all a million times for the first week. I was so happy with Bruna's work to capture all of the precious moments of my groom and his family getting ready. Her work was beautiful and absolutely on par with Robert's amazing shots. All of our photos told such an amazing story and really captured all of the fun and love we were surrounded by on our special day. Robert is the best and I would recommend him to everyone! If you're thinking about hiring Robert and have gotten as far as reading these reviews, look no further. We had a blast with him. By the end of the day, it felt like we were old friends. Robert has perfected the balance of being "laid-back" without compromising his professionalism, allowing us to feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera knowing that he would get the shots we wanted. We invited him prior to the event to review the rehearsal venue, the church and the reception venue. He scouted out nearby locations for wedding party portraits which were seasonal and photogenic - that made a material difference on the day towards ensuring things moved like clock work (we had a large bridal party).

The best captured moments came when our guests were unaware they were being photographed, it made a wonderful difference.

We were so lucky and happy to have found Robert! It was so important to us to have very high quality pictures that were natural, genuine, and artistic... we wanted something different from the typical overly posed (dare I say cheesy) wedding pictures that seem so common nowadays. Robert really listened to our vision, was flexible, and delivered 100% on what we hoped for -- our photos are beautiful, and most importantly, real. We cherish them. He was also a very nice and honest person who was a pleasure to work with and hang out with on what was such an important and special day for us. He is an artist, and was a very refreshing change from the overly commercialized and glossy wedding photography companies we met with. Let me start by saying that choosing Robert as our photographer was one of the best decision my husband and I made during the entire wedding preparation. We wanted a photojournalist, not someone who just says "Pose here, pose there" because it feels mechanical. We booked him about a 14 months before our wedding because I saw his portfolio online and I was sold. The meeting process was so relaxed and to the point, he is very friendly and will answer you any question. Fast forward to the big day and surprise! October 23rd means no sun after 5 pm and my wedding photo session was scheduled to 6:30 pm (photos in the dark are so not what I wanted). Robert calmed me down and said "I'll see you at 3:00 pm".

He arrived at 3:00 and started the process, he was like a friend who was in the conversation while secretly working. Not intrusive but capturing everything important. my Ceremony started at 8 and we only booked him for 7 hrs, and since he came early, his leaving time was 10:00 pm (30 minutes after cocktail hour). I understood, I didn't fuss, I was grateful. So the minute my husband and I are getting ready to thank him and finish payment, he said "Hello! i'm leaving at 12:00 am". We were stunned, because 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM is 9 hours. He stayed for 9 hours and captured the essence of the party.

We are so so sooo grateful and we will recommend him at every chance we got. I am ready to post my pictures and say Robert Carlo did it and link his website.

We are a European couple and eloped in NY. We had a look at Robert's portfolio and we really liked his style and the elegance of his pictures, so we decided to try to contact him.
He responded very promptly and agreed with our schedule regardless of the very short notice, he also helped us finding the right locations (he knows the city) for the shooting and proved to be not only extremely professional and committed but also very friendly and passionate, qualities that are kind of rare in New York City!

We booked Robert for our July 2015 wedding. My husband and I are very happy with our wedding photos! We wanted one who could capture all the fun, memorable, and exciting moments of our big day…and Robert delivered as we knew he would! He captured natural emotions, reactions and special moments in time, so when we look back at our photos, we do feel like we’re reliving the day like it was yesterday! This review is really overdue! Robert is extremely passionate and professional about his craft. He's very down to earth and easy to work with. I initially met Robert at his studio and was wildly impressed by his beautiful pictures.
Robert took our engagement photos and we were completely blown away by the end results. We felt completely comfortable knowing that Robert was going to capture our big day. I would recommend Robert Carlo to anyone for pretty much any event. He is a fantastic photographer. I knew Rob was our photographer from the very 1st phone call I had with him. We ended up talking about our love for the city, pinterest, and what my goals were for the wedding. I was able to share with him my Pinterest board of wedding photography inspiration and he really went with it. Our photos came out AMAZING, SUPERB, FABULOUS, and SO PINTERST WORTHY!!!!! The quality is astonishing and everyone in my family loves them. there's so many I can't wait to print out and hang when we buy our first home. Robert listened to what I wanted and what kind of shots were important to me and boy did he deliver! He made sure that we had enough time to get all the shots I wanted like the night time shots on the streets of Brooklyn and our family shots. Although it will be a couple of years, I already want to book Robert for our pregnancy and family photos. He won't let you down and is quick in his response. We lived in VA and our wedding was in Brooklyn, NY so phone calls were crucial as we couldn't meet prior to the big day. During the day of, Robert helped keep me calm before the big reveal and helped John relax and not feel awkward in the front of the camera which was big since we didn't want fake smiles all throughout the night. If you are in the market for a photographer and Robert is available for your event, stop your search immediately and book him. Not only is the quality of his work on par with some of the best in the business, but you're hiring a professional who truly cares about what he does. He went above and beyond expectations for our wedding and engagement photos and delivered more beautiful shots than we know what to do with. The way that Robert captured the love and emotion of our wedding is amazing - he has an ability to help you remember exactly the way everyone felt on that day.

One thing that stood out about Robert is that he didn't want to only satisfy the minimum requirements of his contract. For our engagement shoot, we expected an hour or two of work, but he seemed to be having so much fun taking pictures that we ended up spending almost half the day together. On our wedding day, he showed up early and was one of the last people to leave. He'll capture all of your memories, but somehow never will be in the way or noticeable.

We're lucky to have had the chance to have Robert capture our wedding. He is someone who you can trust will do the job right, and at the end of the day, someone you'll be glad to call your friend.

I would highly recommend Robert to any couple looking for sophisticated and modern wedding photography. My fiancé and I were initially concerned with some of the cheesy-ness and over-the top posing of many wedding shots we had reviewed. Being New Yorkers, we wanted something a little more on trend and artistic but yet elegant and timeless. Robert's pictures are exactly that. His pictures are absolutely stunning. I simply can't say enough about Robert as our wedding photographer. He was very easy to work with, amenable to our every request, and brilliant at capturing each moment. On the day of the wedding I hardly knew he was there, yet, when spotting a moment on the dance floor or in a speech, he was already snapping the photo.

I am FLOORED by our pictures. I have absolutely no idea how one man was in so many places at once. Our ceremony coverage looks like it was covered from 3 different angles and I can't recall ever even seeing him during it. His biggest strength is in capturing the candids. Although we absolutely loved our posed photos, the pictures of people caught in beautiful moments of laughter, hugs, dancing, and goofiness are where he really shines. His photos become a flip book of your event. You feel like you are truly reliving the feeling of each of them.

His hard work was evident when we saw him at the end of the night. He was soaked through his clothes with sweat and still beaming from ear to ear telling us what a wonderful time he had. That's just a quality of service that money can't buy. We are so grateful to have found him for our most special day. I can't imagine anyone else going to such lengths for complete strangers.

From the first night we met Robert my husband & I automatically made the decision to use Robert as our wedding photographer, in fact we hired him on the spot before even interviewing any other photographers. We were immediately drawn in by his enthusiasm, passion, and professionalism. It was clear from the beginning just how much Rob loves what he does, it was obvious after seeing his portfolio and even more so after meeting with him and hearing him talk about his experiences as a wedding photographer. Rob was super easy to work with, he went out of his way from day one to visit our venue on several different occasions to really get a feel for it prior to the wedding. He even attended our rehearsal all the way in NJ the night before the wedding, just to ensure that everything would be perfect the day of. And that it truly was...not only did Rob manage to capture all the magical moments of our amazing night, but he did it effortlessly and unintrusively. My husband and I had Robert take photos for both our Save the Date and our wedding. My husband was a little nervous, he did not think being followed around with a camera would be fun however, after our save the date pictures, he told me that it felt more like hanging out with a friend than staged photos. Everything just felt so natural with Robert. On our wedding day, guests commented on how professional and thorough he was. I have already recommended Robert to my friends who are now planning weddings. We love our wedding pictures SO much. Robert also has a unique style with his photography which we love, it makes our photos stand out. We hope to work with Robert in the future to capture other special events in our life.

I had an instant gut feeling about Robert when I looked at his site and saw the kind of work he did - very cool and natural, nothing too cheesy, just good photography in a classic, timeless style. He was very easy to talk with and discuss the wedding & very responsive always. On the actual day he was every part there when he needed to be, gave good direction when needed, and left the right moments alone. He was a welcome addition to the best day of my life (so far!) He even sent me some pictures ahead of time as my Father's birthday was soon after our wedding and I wanted to frame a picture for him for it. Professional and friendly - a great photographer and human all around (and with great turnaround!)

Robert was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. He was organized, professional, timely and super easy to work with. Robert captured every single smile, laugh, dance and much more so beautifully. He blended into the occasion and at times I barely knew he was even there! His photos are unique and stunning and beyond that, he has an awesome personality that meshed perfectly with ours. I would recommend Robert in a heartbeat!

After researching numerous photographers (too many to count), we finally found Robert and I'm so glad we did! From day 1 we had such a great experience working with him. We were able to meet with him prior to booking and he immediately put us at ease - he was open to all of our thoughts of what we were looking for, he was very genuine and up front about his work, and most importantly he was someone we both felt comfortable hanging out with. He was always very easy to get in touch with and quick to respond. The day of the wedding Robert and his 2nd shooter, Jen, were so attentive, professional, unobtrusive... and fun! We had such a great time working with both of them throughout the day and it shows in our photos. Robert has a great eye and was able to find beautiful, unique back drops for our portraits and he caught all of the natural moments of us and our guests. We received the edited photos back very quick considering the time and effort and that is put into post production. Overall, it was such an easy, collaborative, and fun process. Robert and Jen captured our day beautifully and for that we are so thankful.

Robert was an absolute joy to work with. From the moment we contacted him he was easy going and accommodating. His passion for his craft is inspiring and he executes it with professionalism and perfection. His value is beyond his rate, the photos will speak for themselves. Our photos are art and went beyond a pretty backdrop and pose, with Robert behind the lense you can be sure these photos will evoke emotion. He is like a photography ninja capturing all the unnoticed details and moments of the day without ever getting in the way. When we received the photos we were so over joyed by the moments we missed. Robert also listened carefully to what we wanted like pictures of our beautiful son. He is open to all suggestions. Overall we are so happy we hired robert and without hesitation would recommend his services to everyone looking for an exceptional photographer.

There is not enough stars to give this guy. Robert Carlo covered our wedding from start to end. He became our support team. He is extremely professional and has a passion for photography. He gave us so much more then we asked for both in time, number of photos and kindness. His pictures are unique and capture the moments' emotions. His portfolio speaks for itself, but I have to add that the photos are fantastic. We love our wedding pictures. We couldn't be happier with Rob. Thank you for your great work and passion for photography.

We were so happy with the work Robert did with us at our wedding this past weekend. Since we are only a couple days removed, we haven't seen the full results yet. However, from the couple shots Robert couldn't resist showing us on his camera, we are so very excited to see what he came up with.

Robert's calm and enthusiastic demeanor was exactly what we needed to feel great about our day. We felt like we were in great hands all day and had a terrific time shooting with him as well. He went out of his way to make sure we got the shots we wanted, and several we had no idea we wanted - but are so glad we didn't miss the opportunity.

Robert also worked incredibly efficiently. We got through the formal family shots quickly which gave us extra time to explore the grounds and find more incredible shots. He was also very inconspicuous though out the ceremony and reception. Neither one of us were aware of him at all during the ceremony - although we have no doubt that we'll be well covered once we get to see the images. We were also thrilled to learn that Robert had experience shooting dance. He did not shy away from shooting movement, and as a result captured some really amazing moments.

Obviously, we highly recommend Robert if you're looking for a photo-journalistic style. He will shoot you interacting as a couple and let your personalities and energies drive the shoot. What better way to capture who you really are?

I really tried to think of one thing that Robert Carlo could have improved on and I couldn't think of 1 thing. I am thankful that he was willing to travel to Los Angeles to grab our special day. We loved his wedding photos and completely filled when we saw his landscaping portraits. You pick a venue because you love it. He managed to capture us and the venue equally in the same shot. We are more than pleased with his professionalism and quality. There were moments he captured that I didn't think he was even around for, completely amazed!

Robert was our photographer for our wedding in May. He was very chill and laid back which is exactly what we were looking for, and on top of that was a very personable guy. We didn't want a slew of "traditional" (ie boring) photographs but knew there were a handful of shots we would have to get, and he was able to do both for us, the fun, photo journalistic kind, and a couple family posed ones. We also didn't want to waste hours on our photos that we could be spending with our family and friends so he was able to take some time efficient shots that turned out really well. His prices are reasonable and the second photographer he brought was also great. I would definitely recommend Robert for your wedding.

Our guests and we were absolutely impressed with the work of Robert Carlo. We already had high expectations after seeing his portfolio online and he delivered pictures of the same caliber. It was particularly pleasing that during our wedding day several of our guests came to us to ask how we had found our photographer, since he appeared to be passionate and serious about his work. It made everyone feel good. In addition, he was clear about the whole process from the beginning and he accommodated last minute changes to our plans due to weather and traffic. He creatively took advantage of these unplanned situations and came up with pictures that captured some of the best moments of our guests and us on our wedding day.
