Th Perfect Wedding - made easy

From the very first moment i stepped foot in riverview room i knew it would be the place that we would get married. I greeted by Isaac and we instantly fell in love with not only the venue itself, but the knowledgeable, fun, and kind staff! My mom and I canceled the rest of our venue appointments after our tour, if that tells any brides (especially destination) how amazing my first impression was. I knew being a destination bride was going to be difficult, but i was overwhelmed by how easy everyone at Riverview room made it for me. From the sweet card and candle i got in the mail after choosing Riverview Room, to the morning after the wedding retrieving our stuff from the venue, EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT(and easy.) The food tastings that they host serve and display some of their most popular menu items (but i can’t imagine there being a bad thing on the menu!) if you can make it to one of those i highly recommend it (if you can’t.. make sure you choose the corn and crab bisque and lamb pops - our guests are STILL talking about those.) Mandy made everything so incredibly easy. She was patient with all my questions, she was always willing to offer a helpful suggestion, and she was just over all incredible. Our ceremony was supposed to start at 6 o’clock and right at 5:50 it started raining and all of our guests came in. She came to me and asked me what i wanted to do because i knew that the backup plan was to have it inside. She knew that i wanted it outside so i asked her if we could hold off until 6:15 and if it hadn’t stopped raining then we would move it inside.... and asked if we could open the bar :) well she made it happen! Opened the bar and she notified our guests that the wedding would proceed at 6:15! When i tell y’all these folks are there for the bride and groom, THEY ARE THERE FOR THE BRIDE AND GROOM!!! They are amazing! They had attendants for us and attendants for our parents and we never had an empty drink in our hand. My mother in law has not stopped telling people about it! I honestly could go on and on and on about how amazing our wedding was all thanks to Mandy, Isaac, and the staff at Riverview room!!

The Best Wedding I've Ever Been To (My Own)

The Riverview Room and its staff were amazing! They answered every question and helped when I needed help figuring out what to do next. Everyone was so sweet, and the place was beautiful. My guests could not stop raving about the food and the views. I'd recommend the Riverview Room to anyone. I am sending them some pics from our wedding and a "thank you" for all they did.

Beautiful Venue. Amazing Customer Service.

Mandy and her staff did an amazing job. They walked us through everything and made sure everything went smooth for our wedding day. They went above and beyond to make sure that our day was special. I would definitely recommend this place for any special occasion.

Amazing service!

Our wedding is not until 2021, but my fiancé and I heard about this venue through family friends that have gotten married there. After just 1 meeting, we were greeted kindly and have been helped with every question. We received our proposal and made several edits through sit down meetings and shown exactly what was changed and was told how everything will be done to our specifications. We are very excited to have our wedding at the Riverview Room!

Beautiful and amazing venue!

Riverview Room was one of the first venues I found when starting to look for our reception, it was perfect for a large crowd with multiple spots to vendors come in as well as a beautiful terrace for our cocktail hour! The staff is amazing and so great to work with! The food was delicious and were so accommodating for every request we had for our big day! All of our guests loved the view and had some perfect backdrops for pictures at night! We still are getting comments on how much fun the entire night was!

Absolutely great

Everyone we’ve spoken to since the day we started planning has been SO awesome and accommodating. I have to sing praises to Katie especially. Everyone at the Riverview Room has exceeded our expectations by tenfold, and we still have ELEVEN MONTHS til our wedding!!!

My wedding isn't until June 30, 2018. BUT I just wanted to say how happy I am with the service so far. Mary has been amazing at sending quotes, brainstorming ideas, and providing vendor lists so quickly. I am so excited to be having my wedding here!!! I will write another review following my big day!

There are not enough things to say about Mary and her staff at the Riverview Room!! The food, the views, the staff, the room itself - it was all simply amazing. This was one of the best decisions I made when I planned my wedding. Mary helped keep me calm when things were unraveling, answered my unending amount of questions through email and phone call, worked with me to find a new date after my original date fell through, and so much more. Not only did Mary answer every single silly question I had, but she even helped me pick out some of my other vendors who were all AMAZING. Mary and her staff worked so well with my baker, my florist, my photographer, my videographer - they were all professional, courteous, timely, and really the absolute best. The reception itself was amazing, and Mary literally decorated the entire place!! I left a ton of stuff with her the day before the wedding and essentially said "I have no idea what I want to do with this" - and she took all of it and told me not to worry. The place was beautiful, she put everything where it should be and it was just amazing. Every person who attended our wedding told me the same thing - best wedding they've ever been to. Our guests are STILL ranting and raving about the food, the drinks, the friendly staff, the views, everything. And I truly owe every compliment, smile, and happy moment of my wedding to Mary and her staff. You won't go wrong choosing the Riverview Room - Mary and her stand are the absolute BEST there is!!!

We could not be more happy we choose the Riverview Room to have our reception! Booking with Mary made everything feel easy and worry-free. Mary and her staff really make sure you will not worry about a thing the entire night (really the whole process)! Our guests are still raving over the wonderful food and views that the Riverview Room offers. If you want a wedding in downtown New Orleans there really is no other competition with the Riverview Room!

I cannot recommend the Riverview Room enough! As an out of state bride, I was faced with difficulty in finding a venue - we almost didn't pick the Riverview Room because it didn't fit my 'vision.' I'm so glad we did.
PRIOR to the wedding:
Mary, Melanie, and team made our lives so easy. From our wedding year, month, week, and day, they were always there to help us!
As for decorations, Riverview Room will provide some basic decorations, but we brought some of our own. We dropped them off earlier in the week, and they set them up the day of. I was able to enjoy the company of my bridesmaids instead of rushing around trying to decorate the place the morning of.
One of the downsides of this venue is the minimum of 150 guests for a Friday wedding and a minimum of 200 for a Saturday wedding - we ended up having a Friday wedding because of this.
DURING the wedding:
First off, as soon as I walked through the elevator, Mary and team were at my beckoning call - did I need champagne? Food? Anything?
The outdoor ceremony space was amazing. The weather was gorgeous for our 6:30 ceremony time - you could see the rooftops and the cathedral, and the Mississippi. It was great.
A month later, guests are comparing our food to other weddings and they keep telling us how great it was (sorry, I'm not sorry that our food was AWESOME!)
During the reception, things went flawlessly. The team handled all the timing, the cake cutting, and the coordinating with the DJ. I didn't have to worry about a thing!
Finally, AFTER the wedding, they sent home all the parents with food and cake and we too got food and cake. Because we were second lining away from the ceremony, they just held it to the next day and we picked up the decorations and the food the morning after the wedding.
I'm reaching the maximum character limit, so the long story short - we would 100% recommend them to anyone that is looking for a great all-in-one venue! Riverview Room will take care of y

I can't say enough about the Riverview Room, Mary and her staff. What an absolute perfect venue for a day so special. From day 1 of planning, I felt like I was in good hands. Mary is trustworthy, flexible, helpful and straightforward. She helps with vision, decision making and so much more. The Riverview Room itself is incredible. The decor and architecture is beautiful without any additional decorations. Our guests RAVED about the food. They are still talking about it! And the rooftop view on the terrace made our ceremony so magical! And for the out-of-town guests, it was such a neat New Orleans experience. If you are questioning whether to book your ceremony/reception here....stop. If you book this second, you won't regret it!

We had a wonderful experience planning our March 2014 wedding at the Riverview Room. We were planning the wedding from New York and Mary and her team were always quick to reply to our questions and very accommodating towards our requests. The views were a big selling point for us as we were planning a destination wedding with out-of-town guests -- we didn't see any other venues with comparable views. We did the ceremony on the terrace facing the French Quarter and it wrapped up about 15 minutes after sundown - the lighting was gorgeous as the sun went down, and it looked great in our photos. It was a Hindu ceremony and Mary was experienced with our mandap vendor, Nirvana, which was helpful. As for the reception, the food was great (especially the gumbo and the Creole pasta, which were the biggest hits) and we managed to fit a brass band and a photo booth alongside our 150 guests without it feeling crowded. Also, Mary handled all the vendors and their tips so we were free to enjoy ourselves -- so glad about that! Highly recommend the RR for its beautiful views and great staff.

I recently had my wedding here 3/7/14 and I could not have asked for a better Reception Venue. Mary was the absolute best to work with. I had several Special Requests, and she had no problem assisting me to make sure everything was perfect! The food is the absolute best! My guest raved about the food, still to this day.

Mary Quarls and her staff are the most friendly, warm, organized and professional people at any venue!

From the minute we started the planning, Mary has suggested vendors to us and every one was perfect as well as her warm advise. The night of the wedding was everything she said it would be and more! The food, band and dancing, cake, drinks, photo booth and sign-in table all were perfect with plenty of room to spare. It truly was everything we expected but a lot more. We would recommend this venue to everyone whether you are planning a wedding or a party! We can't wait to go back for an event soon!

Wow! Where to begin? Mary Quarls is the most amazing person to work with. From the moment we met her, we knew that the Riverview room was the place for my daughter's reception. The venue is amazing with beautiful views of the river and the city. Everyone raved about the food. And, Mary and her team did everything from beginning to end. We had such a fantastic time. Mary is professional, answers emails and phone calls promptly, answers any question you have and will try to accomodate any request you have. I cannot say enough about our experience. It was a wonderful, memorable event thanks to the Mary and her team.

Our daughter was married here this past weekend. Everything was perfect. The staff were very professional and attentive. The food was delicious. The rooftop ceremony provided New Orleans flavor. I would highly recommend this venue.

Best Decision we made for our wedding was using the Riverview Room as our wedding reception venue!! Mary and her team were absolutely brilliant and helped make Sept 14, 2013 the best night of our lives!

The Food- AMAZING: it was abundant, always replenished, served hot with such rich robust flavors and quality. The variety was outstanding

The View- AMAZING: Surrounded by the Mississippi River, the St Louis Cathedral and in the heart of the French Quarter- you can see it all with the panoramic balconies and large open wide windows that surround the venue. No one can beat this

The Space: AMAZING: nice dance floor, clean carpet, nice china and glasses, unique layout with plenty of room both inside and out!

The Open Bar: AMAZING: enough said!!! All guests were so delighted!

The Value: AMAZING: all inclusive of appetizers, food, open bars, personal attendants, linens, tables, chairs, cake cutting, the list goes on and on! Value CANNOT be beat by ANY vendor in the French Quarter- Trust me I looked!!

Mary: AMAZING: this woman knows everything there is to know about coordinating your event. She offers amazing advice, is easily reachable at any time and was there from start to absolute finish on the big day. An absolute breath of fresh air to work with compared to many other vendors around town!!! Her team is hands down amazing as well!!!

In short, book at Riverview Room and your wedding will be AMAZING :)

What can I say about the most perfect wedding ever!!! I had the time of my life at my wedding. Oh did I mention how awesome the food is. The service, Mary from the moment you meet her to the time that you leave made me feel like I was the only bride she every had. I did a lot of my own decorations to go along with my New Orleans theme and Mary and her staff were so kind to put them together and put them out for me. When I walked into the room all I saw were all the candles and flowers I was taken away by the beauty of it all. All my guest loved overlooking the river, and seeing the paddle wheel go by. So many of my friends say when they get married they want to have their wedding there. Thanks a million, Anne Marie

Mary and her staff at the riverview room are truly experts in weddings. The riverview room is a prime French quarter location and was easily walkable from the cathedral. From the moment I walked in the door and assistant greeted me with a smile and she didn’t leave my side the entire time. The had an assistant for each the bride and groom and the couples parents. They waited on us hand and foot. If we wouldn't have had a coordinator, they would actually contact your vendors in advance to ensure ontime arrival. Between lu and the riverview room staff, I didn’t have to ask for anything! The food was excellent. It was always hot and they replenished the food whole night.

The staff at the Riverview room was amazing! Mary helped relieve so so much of our stress. They set up the entire room just the way we wanted after only verbally describing everything! The staff had energy, were happy and extremely helpful! I can't express in words how amazing they were! If you want to get married in the French Quarter, the Riverview Room is the place to do it!

I took my bridal portraits at the Riverview Room yesterday. My wedding is not until September. However, I felt compelled to find every website I could that allowed review submittal because I was so blown away with my experience yesterday. I cannot say enough about Mary and her staff. The professionalism, accomodation, generosity, and kindness left nothing else at all to be desired. Most of my bridal portraits were taken from their balconies, the views were breathtaking, and the pictures were perfect. I walked out of there yesterday knowing, without a doubt, that I won't have a care in the world on my big day. I am confident that Mary and her staff will take care of everything, that feeling is priceless. With that being said, I do believe that they offer an exceptional venue for an even more exceptional price. Had my daughter's reception there March 12, 2011. Not one item to change. Yes, Mary is a little brusque at first but that is to cut down on the 'price shoppers' and reveal the serious clients. Once hired, she is fabulous. Always available and easy to work with. Many comments from attendees about the quality of food! Lots of bar area so no waiting. GREAT!

The Riverview Room was so great that it's hard to know where to begin. First, the value for price is exceptional. For less than $50 per person, we got a large, beautifully appointed room overlooking the Mississippi River from four stories up, with the GNO bridge and the Steamboat Natchez in the background on one side and the French Quarter on the other side. We also got an open bar and to-die-for cuisine. (Crawfish enchiladas, mmmmm!) The manager, Mary, accommodated our every whim and never tried to encourage us to add to our expenses. She made it super easy to plan. Her attention to detail during the wedding and reception went beyond our wildest expectation. She worked seamlessly with every vendor (wedding planner, florist, bakeries) to make everything turn out perfect. I was worried about how we would get all the centerpieces, gifts, and other wedding paraphernalia down the elevator and to our vehicle after the wedding, but I shouldn't have been worried--Mary and her staff took care of it for us.

If you want a French Quarter wedding and/or reception at a very reasonable price, I strongly recommend the Riverview Room.

I would recommend the Riverview Room to any who is getting married. They were very professional, they did everything I asked and more. While the reception was going they fullfilled any need I needed at that time. They were clean, I was very pleased.

They were amzing! They made my life very easy. My guest were very impressed with the amount and quality of food. The staff worked very hard to do what I asked of them. I would recommend anyone use them!

I cannot say enough good things about the Riverview Room at Jax Brewery. The view is spectacular, the atmosphere is great, the food was aweomse, the staff is incredible and accomodating. Top notch place. My wedding was the perfect day because of this place! They even allowed us to come in a few days beforeand set up Christmas Trees to make my wedding the winter wonderland I dreamed of it being. The whole night people raved about the Riverview Room, and how they never knew about it, and whata great idea it was! I am so thankful that I entrusted my day to the Riverview Room. It was only a spit shot from the St. Louis Cathedral, whcih is gorgeous, and then the pricing was some of the best in the city (about $11,000 for 200 people)!!

Mary is a shining star if you're a "last-minute" bride such as me. The venue speaks for itself - breathtaking view of the river and city with excellent food. However, Mary ran an incredible show on the day of my wedding: assistants for the bride/groom as well as the parents, arranging all decorations for us prior to the event, helping my stressed out mother settle down a little (my favorite thing). Any last minute detail that went awry was handled was ease (including sewing a flower girl back into her dress). On top of all that, Mary was extremely flexible throughout the planning process regarding menu choices, bar, etc.

Everything went very smoothly for our wedding. The only thing I would recommend is if having the outdoor ceremony - have your speakers - officiant - readers - etc use a microphone so the crowd can hear. It was everything we dreamed of!

What a Memory!

The venue was amazing, Mandy helped us so much and was such a participant in the entire wedding. the fireworks in the background was a once in a lifetime experience.

We had the wedding and reception there and both turned out better than I could ever have imagined. I will warn that Mary can be a little sharp and short at times. I found this in the beginning of my planning process. However, the week of the wedding, she was wonderful. She asked to meet with us and gave access to the venue 3 times during the week for drop off and set up. She runs a good rehearsal and her and her assistant Cheri had everything covered the day of. Cheri was the bridal attendant and she thought of things I needed before I even realized them. I ended up being extremely happy with my choice. Also, the room looks much better in person that it does in the pictures on the website. Good luck!

Beautiful venue

This was my top choice off of the photos for my wedding . When we saw it in person it was even better . The view and venue are absolutely breathtaking . Issac and Elizabeth were very nice and professional. My main issue was after we booked them the communication fell off . Mandy was extremely hard to communicate with . I would email over a list of questions and get one word replies back a week later . Being in Houston made it stressful not to be able to get answers from them on floor planning and timeline , and contract details . There was also a miscommunication on start and end time for the reception which was a bummer. Putting this aside the day of the wedding was more then I could ever ask for . There was an entire team waiting to greet me when I arrived the day of . I couldn’t have asked for a better bridal attendant . Vivian was so thoughtful and sweet and made the evening so carefree with no wedding stress. She took care of me . Everyone that worked there that night was so sweet. Perfect service .

We got married at the Riverview room and it was the most wonderful night of our lives. The service and the bar tender was amazing the sunset was the most perfect decision about the whole thing the employees were amazing and they did everything in there power for us to have the best night ever. However, Mary the corrdinator fought us tooth and nail with every request we had wether it would be the simplest or something we have dreament of our whole lives she emidiatiatly said no when any other hospitality venue would have found away to make it possible. For the moment we paid for this place we were treated as if we were inconveniancing her the entire time. On top of all that she was the opposite of polite. She may have treated our parents, and family with respect but as the bride and groom we did not feel any of this. Also she said that she would present some decorations that never showed. For the moment we spent for the venue, we didn't get our moneys worth. I would like to say again it was great but only because of the hard working regular employees and the energy of our love, family, and friends.

Very unorganized and unprofessional

From the start the communication from the Riverview Room planning team was unorganized. The staff was dishonest and they had about 3 points of contact, making it very confusing. The building went through a renovation a couple months before my wedding. We asked many times what it would look like and never got an answer. We were even told at one point we could not rehearse on the terrace (where the ceremony was set to be) because they would be finishing up renovation the day before the wedding. When we got to the rehearsal it was a mad house. There were workers everywhere. Scaffolding all over the building. Workers painting and renovating on the terrace the entire time we rehearsed the ceremony. Not to mention the coordinator did not speak to me even when we stood side by side.

The wedding day, they had extra bars and chairs piled up in the hall making it cluttered and unappealing. They forgot to turn the light on over my cake for a cake cutting. The staff at RR was not organized in the day of plan at all. It was a cluster and as the bride I was very confused what was happening at all times. They also ran out of our specialty cocktails right after the second line.

When I reached out to the venue to express my concern. They wrote me off and said they didn’t breach anything in my contract. They were very condescending and tried to invalidate everything I said.

A very upsetting, unprofessional and unorganized experience as a bride.

Avoid this sketchy venue at all costs

Long story short, there are new owners and they scammed our family out of thousands of dollars due to the pandemic. When we asked to reschedule as the city was only allowing events with ~20 people and this was a destination wedding for us they only offered us a 1pm-4pm timeslot, a non holiday weekend Sunday, a date nearly two years away OR an outrageous rebooking fee of $8K that was nowhere in the contract. I know for a fact they had availability but chose to squeeze us out. When i asked if our deposit and payments to date could be donated to a homeless shelter after we cancelled, they ghosted me. What hurt most was the lack of empathy. When NOLA dropped their capacity, Elizabeth told me I “chose to uninvite 200 people” — when in fact I was just trying to follow the law. Outside this there were other small red flags. This venue is NOT respected by other vendors in the city.

We were swooned by the wonderful Issac and sold on the idea of having our March 2021 wedding at Riverview Room. Various reviews and locals had warned us about the place but we truly believed in it. After we signed the contract, the problems began. Their on site coordinator was often unresponsive and it took weeks to get answers on things she should’ve known already. The food is mediocre at best which was disappointing since the reviews raved about it but we found it either bland or over salted.

I know they will go on here and try to defend themselves but there is no defending these con artists. Take your money, time and energy elsewhere in NOLA. Message me if you want any more details.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! They hire dishonest people and their staff stole from me and no one did anything about it. I told them that the items stolen from me meant a lot and I would offer a cash reward and they did not even try to talk to their employees. What frustrated me the most was how they lied to me several times and did not try to follow up on the issue.
