There are not enough words for us to thank Kevin, Starr and the entire Rivermill team for such an amazing wedding!! The venue is incredible and transforms to match any color palette! We had our ceremony outside, under the footbridge and it was breathtaking - no additional decor was needed because the brick buildings provided a stunning backdrop! The food was incredible - and the wedding package was so reasonably priced but offered SO MUCH! Our guests had a blast - dancing until the very last minute! Justin and I are so grateful for the work that Kevin put into making our day perfect! Bride to Bride, if you are still searching for your perfect venue, look no further - the Rivermill is definitely it!

We booked Rivermill for our Nov 10 wedding. It perfectly fit the vibe I was looking for and they were so accommodating with the decor look I wanted. They can also transform just outside the building into a cocktail hour setting (though it ended up being too cold/windy for us to utilize). Kevin was really nice and helpful throughout the planning process. They have complimentary valet and also were able to have a coat check for our guests. We also used the catering that comes with the venue, Liberty Lane, which was amazing and were able to create delicious apps, entrees, and late-night snacks!! Originally, we were planning to have our ceremony elsewhere, but last minute weather changes caused us to move indoors to Rivermill. They were able to section off part of the room for the ceremony and I gotta say, I think it turned out more perfectly than if we'd held the ceremony outside at our original spot!! Would highly recommend!

I am glad I chose Rivermill. Kevin was very kind, helping me throughout the planning process. He was also very responsive. I didn't have to worry about renting out chairs, tables, linens, because everything is included. I definitely recommen Rivermill as your wedding/other event venue!

My husband and I were so happy with our wedding at the Rivermill. This is actually the only venue we looked at but we knew from the first meeting that it was the perfect space for our wedding. Kevin and Starr were great to work with. We loved being able to customize the space and everything looked absolutely perfect the night of. We had an indoor ceremony on site that went over really well. There are so many beautiful spots in the area to take pictures. We received so many compliments on the food and the venue and all of our guests had a great time. We hope the be able to attend a Rivermill wedding as guests sometime! I had my wedding here on November 14th,2015 and all I can say is that this venue and the experience was nothing short of spectacular. The space itself is stunning and rich in character and charm. The brick walls, exposed beams and large windows provide a beautiful backdrop and create a warm atmosphere for any event but it was especially perfect for a wedding. I found that we didn't need much for decorations because the room itself is the epitome of industrial elegance. The room provided adequate space for the ceremony, tables for the 125 guests that were present, high top tables for cocktail hour, the band, photo booth, bar, and most importantly the dance floor! Kevin and Starr were exceptional to work with. They coordinated the whole day and eased my mind, making sure everything was in place which allowed me to have a stress free day at my own wedding! They provided endless options and I was really able to customize the day and bring to life the wedding exactly as I had envisioned. Kevin and Starr also provided packages and lists of preferred vendors which made the planning process more straightforward and organized, and less daunting and overwhelming. To this day I am still receiving compliments from my guests about how gorgeous the venue was. Hands down, booking this venue was the best decision we made for our wedding! Highly recommended!

From the second I walked into Rivermill I knew that I wanted to have my wedding reception there. The space is so different and special and I truly loved everything about it. My wedding day was amazing. Kevin was incredibly professional and accommodating. I met with him multiple times before the wedding and each time he was completely focused on what my husband and I wanted for our wedding. He made sure certain tables and lighting were available for our day that we really wanted. He also made himself available the Thursday before our wedding and opened the space, allowing for us to set up before the big day.

During the reception everything was run so smoothly. He even made a point to come over to us personally to make sure we were enjoying our time and brought us a drink from the bar. We honestly could not have been happier with our experience and so many of our guests commented on how wonderful the reception was.

We just got married at the Rivermill and are so absolutely pleased with our experience. The venue was actually purchased just a few months before our wedding, which naturally stressed me out! However, our experience with the new management was even better than before! Kevin and Starr are passionate about giving you a great wedding experience (Starr was outside gardening herself and Kevin even coordinated his outfit to our wedding!). They worked with us to create a completely unique and amazing wedding. Rivermill allowed us to come early to set up ourselves (our choice) on Friday and come late on Sunday to pick everything up. They helped us along the way when we weren't sure about the timeline, floor plan, etc. People's first comments have been about how fun and distinctly beautiful the venue was. It's a brick canvas that you can make your own! That's exactly what we were looking for.

We loved our recent wedding at Rivermill and guests were raving too! Once we saw the space, we knew it was the one! We had both our ceremony and reception at Rivermill, which made it very convenient for all involved. If you are looking for a unique space that you can make you own, in a quaint town, this is it! Owners Kevin and Starr were extremely helpful and professional throughout the entire process. On the day of, they helped coordinate all of the details and things went down without hitch! Rivermill staff was on top of things from start to finish! We highly recommend this venue for its original space and helpful/professional staff.! I cannot express my gratitude to the staff at the Rivermill enough. Their professionalism in every aspect of their work was absolutely second to none. Incredibly accommodating in every aspect, no matter the request. Fast to address and respond to any concerns and always there with helpful recommendations.

As for the venue itself it was just what my wife and I were looking for. We didn't want a "Country Club" wedding with white walls, white linens, and crystal chandeliers. The brick walls of the Riverill add a ton of character and provide for great photo opportunities. The huge windows provide a ton of natural light (but they do have blinds too if needed!).

If we had to do everything over again, I wouldn't change a thing. Starr thank you so much. You were a joy to work with and the day truly was perfect. We wish you and your company nothing but the best and will continue to send business your way.

We had such a wonderful experience working with Aaron Wensley and the wedding was perfect. We couldnt have asked for a better venue then the Rivermill. With Aarons help durnig the planning process and on the day of the event everything went very smoothly and turned out great. We wish we could do it all over again!

Where do I even begin!? The entire staff is fantastic. Amy went above and beyond what we could have asked for. The venue itself is STUNNING, we got so many compliments on how great it was. The staff was great about getting things set-up, all of my emails and questions were answered in less than a few hours, they made me feel comfortable and I knew I was in good hands as their knowledge and expertise was apparent in all of my up front communication with them. The day of the wedding went without a hitch and it was in large part of the staff at Rivermill. From making sure things were on time to getting an extra place setting, they were so on top of things it was incredible. Amy was so on top of things that I walked into the rest room to get the petticoat off cause it was too hot and I turned around and she was there to grab it from me and get it put away! Amy, Kurt, Brit... everyone was a pleasure to work with and their professionalism and attention to detail was above and beyond. So thankful for their effort to make my wedding day special!

Rivermill was an amazing place for my October 13th wedding! You can't go wrong with a beautiful industrial location in a New England autumn setting. All the Rivermill staff - particularly Aaron - were so wonderful and helpful and responded to our every question. Even when we requested some things that were a bit unconventional (for instance, we needed them to store our rather large chuppah before the ceremony in the adjacent park), they never blinked and went out of their way to help us with every detail.

Also, during the wedding itself, the staff was incredibly attentive and helpful, always making sure that all the details were taken care of so that we didn't have to worry about anything. And finally, the next morning they had packed up and organized everything we needed to retrieve from the venue.

We got so many comments from guests that they loved the venue and really enjoyed the beautiful, unique setting. I can't recommend Rivermill highly enough!

My husband and I just had our wedding at Rivermill at Dover Landing on October 19th, and I cannot say enough great things about the venue as a physical location, and the amazing staff there, especially Britt! We had the time of our lives, and Britt was friendly, helpful, and so responsive in the entire planning process. This team is A+, and we would highly recommend the Rivermill as a venue for couples looking for something unique. The space is so beautiful on its own, but Britt was able to help us make it our own. LOVE LOVE LOVE Rivermill, and the staff there. Thank you all for making our day we'll never forget!!!!

Our wedding could not have been more perfect! It was even better than I imagined, and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Kirt and Britt were so easy to work with, and were always on top of everything that needed to be done.

The team at Rivermill absolutely deserve the full 5 stars. I don't think there's much they could have done to improve on our experience. My husband and I fell in love with the look of the venue itself. There's so much character in the space that we were able to take it easy on the decorations and still have everything pop.

Rivermill doesn't offer food service, but has a full kitchen and a list of preferred vendors. Britt is clearly very selective with her vendors as ours (Liberty Lanes) was top notch! She worked with them and all our other vendors directly, so we had the ease of a packaged wedding but with freedom to pull in who we wanted and make the wedding our own.

I'd also like the specially thank Katherine, who was with us for the rehearsal and day of. I was nervous about changing to another Rivermill contact for the day of, but the handoff was warm and Katherine was amazing. She was clearly very excited for us, put us at ease, and allowed us to enjoy the day without stressing about the small things.

My husband and I opted to have the ceremony at the venue as well. We had a huge number of people tell us how surprised they were when they realized the space had been transformed during cocktail hour. Without getting into specifics of how, the team created a wonderful ceremony location and transitioned into a reception within the same space, without disturbing (and rather delighting) our guests. This enabled everyone to enjoy themselves immediately and maximized our time to take photos quickly.

I generally try to be objective and provide some criticism, but there is nothing to mark them down. We couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Suggestions for other vendors - Little Leaf Studios (amazing photography), DJ Nate Downs, and Classic Photographers had a great photo booth.

We had the most amazing and perfect wedding at Rivermill last weekend! Aaron was superb to work with from the beginning and helped me through every bit of planning. The Rivermill provided a unique and classy backdrop for our special day and our guests raved about how amazing it was.

Aaron and the Rivermill staff go above and beyond to make sure all details are in place - from providing complimentary valet parking to confirming all vendors/arrival times - they do whatever they can to help make the day as relaxed and enjoyable as possible.

I would highly recommend Rivermill and its staff for any event/function in the Dover or Seacoast area. I can't say enough about how great they really are!

From the moment that my fiance and I walked into Rivermill, we knew that this was where we wanted to get married! This venue is so unique and fit our taste perfectly. The space has high ceilings, exposed brick, and is industrial yet warm at the same time. We worked with Britt, who was absolutely wonderful. She guided us in creating the perfect wedding and the Rivermill website was so helpful in finding local vendors (we used the website for cake, makeup, flowers, and a Justice of the Peace). Everytime we had a question, Britt responded immediately and she made it seem like no detail was too small to care about. There were at least 40 different colors of linen to choose from for table cloths and napkins, and the valet parking was a nice touch. Britt considered the size of our wedding to make a custom floor plan for the ceremony and reception.
One thing that I didn't expect is the level of service that Rivermill provided the day of the wedding. Britt worked behind the scenes the entire day and evening, making sure everything went off without a hitch. She removed a lipstick stain from my fiance's lapel 5 minutes before the ceremony, guided our ring bearer golden retriever to the aisle so he knew where to go, cranked the a/c when I asked her to during the reception, replenished favor cookies, and took care of countless details before we even arrived! She guided us through the wedding timeline in such a calming way that we really appreciated. We are so happy that we had both our wedding and reception at this venue and were completely impressed with every aspect of our wedding experience at the Rivermill!

The staff at The Rivermill at Dover Landing were phenomonal. They understand the needs of a couple/family planning a wedding and are willing to do anything they can to make it as stress free as possible. Britt especially did not make me feel like the frantic bride when I was sending last minute emails and changes her way. Lisa was the even coordinator on the day of our wedding and I can't gush enough about how personable, professional and understanding she is. The vendors that The Rivermill have also aligned themselves with only enhance The Rivermill's effectiveness in helping to plan/pull off a PERFECT wedding. Lastly, the venue itself received only extremely positive feedback from guests - the setting, the layout, the backdrop - I could go on and on!

We were so happy we went with the Rivermil for our wedding venue. In additon to how beautiful and unique the actual venue is the staff at the Rivermill is spectacular. We felt so confident with them that the venue wasn't even a worry the day of the wedding. We knew we could show up and be wowed by how they took our decorations and transformed the venue into our individualized wedding. Britt was so great with responding immediately, guiding us through any questions we had and making sure our day was perfect. The minute I walked in the door of the Rivermill, I knew it was EXACTLY what we were looking for in our venue, it is so beautiful and unique and really a blank canvas to do whatever you want. We worked closely with Britt and she was so fantastic and responsive, we love her! The day of the wedding went great, they took all my stress away. We had our ceremony there as well, and it was perfect. Britt and Lisa were always there when we needed them and so helpful and patient the entire time. I fell in love with the Rivermill the moment I went in for a tour over a year ago! We were looking for something different, and hoped to stay as far away from fancy rugs and stiff ball rooms as possible! Rivermill was a breath of fresh air, without a doubt. The outside of the mill is stunning, a water front walk down to the entrance sets the tone to a naturally beautiful space. Inside, a gorgeous blank slate is available to suite your tastes.

I primarily worked with Britt throughout the planning process. She was organized, friendly, always available. Britt promptly responded to my panicked emails, random questions, and gave excellent advice.

On our wedding day, I met Katherine- a fun, easy going member of the Rivermill Team. She and Britt worked together at our big event, and it went off without a hitch!

My family and I had a wonderful experience with Britt and Katherine. Our guests raved about the fabulous space, and loved the uniqueness of it all. We had the best time, and fondly refer to our wedding as "the perfect day."

Working with the staff at Rivermill was nothing but a positive and enjoyable experience. They were friendly, knowledgeable and exceptionally accommodating. In addition to being an absolutely fabulous team, the location and venue itself is gorgeous.

Planning a wedding and worrying about the details the day of can be stressful for a bride, but I never experienced an ounce of concern. This is all because the Rivermill staff provided guidance along the way and attended to every last question and concern I had. They were an absolute joy to work with; I highly recommend them to any couple looking for a special place to celebrate their day.

I can't even begin to express how wonderful Rivermill was for us. First off, the venue is absolutely beautiful and so unique and different - just what we were looking for! It is in downtown Dover, which was very convenient for us and all of our guests from out of town with many hotels in the area to choose from. The staff at Rivermill was fantastic - they were so helpful while planning the wedding, answering every little question we had and working out all the details with our vendors, making it so easy for us. When it came down to the rehersal and event itself, everything ran so smoothly and we completely owe it all to the staff! We, along with all of our guests, had the most amazing time at our wedding! We will recommend this venue for it's unique style and incredible staff any day!

I cannot say enough positive things about the Rivermill. My husband and I live in New York, and planning a wedding from out of town can be difficult. The Rivermill became the perfect fit. First, we loved that it's a little different. The exposed brick and factory history really made it stand out for us. During our wedding, we got lanterns and the purple uplighting and it looked absolutely beautiful. When I walked in after taking pictures I was truly almost ready to cry it looked so perfect. We had a large wedding in July and decided to have the cocktail hour outside. At first both of us were concerned about whether it would look like a parking lot, but the Rivermill put up a tent and tables and in the summer, the entrance looks beautiful, because of all the trees and flowers, and I couldn't have been happier with the decision. Finally, Britt is truly WONDERFUL to work with. She definitely heard our freak out moments (like when we thought we would have 40 people more than we planned) and she worked so hard to constantly reassure us. She sent me emails in response almost instantly and helped us work out every issue we had. In the end, picking the Rivermill was the best decision we made. We had a beautiful wedding that felt like us as opposed to some cookie cutter wedding, and I couldn't be happier.

We got married on an extremely rainy Saturday in June and our day was absolutely wonderful in large part to the staff at Rivermill! The venue is fantastic but the customer service was even better. Britt and her team did everything they could to make sure that everything was perfect on our day. We had multiple meetings with Britt beforehand and she was always extremely thorough and thoughtful in listening to what we wanted and how we were going to make sure it happened. We also had numerous requests for Britt that we sent through email to which she always responded promptly. Britt also helped to make recommendations on different vendors for us and each one worked out perfectly. I would highly recommend Rivermill not only as a wedding venue but also for any other functions. It is truly a unique and beautiful space with a wonderful staff.

Rivermill is an incredible venue for a wedding! The space is beautiful, the location is unique, and it's one of the only sites in seacoast NH that will allow you to have a large wedding without breaking the bank. Everybody at my wedding LOVED the space--It's so much more unique than some fancy hotel or golf course, and more affordable, too!
We booked with Rivermill when they'd only had one wedding, so throughout the year there were a few growing pains (preferred caterers changed, new services were added,etc.). Overall, though, it's an incredibly flexible site, which allows you to plan the exact wedding that you want, without excessive limitations or fees. The staff/owners are local people and they are amazingly responsive (I think they must have someone "on call" to answer emails, because I seldom waited more than 30 minutes for a response from them). Over and over again, we changed our plans, came back for additional meetings, and they were always responsive and courteous.
Protip: make sure you find out the fee structure for decorations, etc, before you make your final budget. The one drawback to the site is that the ceilings are high, and the brick walls make more advanced decorating tricky, and you have to have a Rivermill employee present.

Being introduced to the Rivermill was so fortuitous for us - we were looking for a NH venue with lots of character/history, but at the same time a flexible space for us to be creative in for our wedding. Rivermill was exactly that. We worked closely with Britt and Michelle, who were very responsive and helpful from beginning to end. We have also been to a few other non-wedding events at the Rivermill, and each event has its own feel in their space - it's quite remarkable how versatile it is, which is important for brides and other event-makers to make it feel like your own unique space. We highly recommend.

Rivermill at Dover Landing hosted my mother's 90th birthday party and because the staff handled things so well.we were able to totally enjoy the day. And that meant so much.

The staff responded professional to every request and allowed us the flexibility we needed to make a very special day become the most memorable day for our family. We are still talking about, but more importantly, so is my mom. And that is a gift that will be cherished forever.

As we spoke to guests during our wedding, we heard two comments over and over again: “Congratulations!” followed by, “This place is perfect! How did you find it?” Hopefully many couples will find it, because getting married at the Rivermill was a fantastic experience. We cannot rave enough.

Working with the Rivermill staff, especially Michelle Clancy who was our main contact, was a pleasure. We did not have a wedding coordinator, but Michelle made sure that every detail was covered, in the most helpful and low-pressure way. She contacted our vendors to make sure all the logistics were set for the day of, and she helped us identify the things we didn’t even know we had to think about. (Did you know you can choose how to have your napkins folded? If you didn’t, Michelle can give you some options and gently suggest what will likely work best.) We did not want our planning to get nuts or stressful, and Michelle was key to achieving that goal.

The wedding itself was exactly what we wanted, and the Rivermill was the ideal venue for bringing our ideas to life. The exposed brick and large windows on the river are a million miles from a hotel ballroom. At the same time, the space invites any creative touches you have in mind. We had our ceremony and reception at the Rivermill, and the setting and atmosphere were perfect for both.

Our out-of-town guests enjoyed seeing downtown Dover (which has great restaurant options for rehearsal dinners) and visiting nearby Portsmouth. And Dover had plenty of hotels and shuttle options for getting folks to and from the venue. But the real reason to have your wedding at the Rivermill is to have your wedding at the Rivermill. You won’t find a better value, a lovelier space, or more accommodating, amiable people to work with. Our wedding could not have been better.

Britt and Michelle were amazing through the whole process. My husband and I had to change our venue just a couple months before the wedding.i was super stressed but after meeting with Britt and Michelle all of that stress went away. They were so helpful and went above and beyond from start to finish!

The Rivermill at Dover Landing is absolute wedding perfection. We were fortunate to sign on with Michelle and the staff at the Rivermill midway through our planning process after loosing a contract with another facility and it was the best decision we made! The staff at the Rivermill were readily available for any and all questions, comments, concerns, or requests. They removed the stress of being a DIY bride from the day-of, while still allowing for my husband and I's creative personalities shine through. For this we are truly thankful. All of our guests were amazed with the space, the food, and the whole feel of our wedding reception. Having grown up in Dover my fiancee and I were thrilled to have our reception in such a beautiful venue. Even though we were the first wedding, the entire Rivermill team seemed to be seasoned pros when it came to coordinating vendors, providing floorplan options, solving set up problems and putting thought into even the small details. We loved the flexibility of choosing all our own vendors and being able to find what suited us and our budget the best. I had positive feedback from all our other vendors about how easy it was to work with the team at Rivermill and how well the venue worked for them. I was able to completely relax that day and enjoy our wedding that turned out to be better than I had imagined. Thank you to Britt, Michelle, Kirt and the rest of the team for all your work!

We visited the Rivermill after a lengthy online search for reception venues. We loved the layout, the exposed brick, views of the river, and it's affordable! Starr and Kevin really know what they're doing - we worked almost exclusively with their preferred vendors, and each of them knew exactly what to expect for their planning purposes...we basically had to do zero coordination on our wedding day, which was a HUGE help (we've heard about numerous nightmares with wedding day coordination). They are very flexible with what you can do with the venue, offering a package deal, or just a venue rental...either way they are willing to offer suggestions to make your wedding fit your vision.
All of the guests enjoyed the venue and the food, and we were happy we could just relax during our reception.

Our experience with The Rivermill far exceeded our expectations. Starr and Kevin worked with us for over a year to create a magical wedding that was uniquely ours, from food stations that our guests raved about to steering us toward fabulous vendors. We didn't have to worry about a thing on our wedding day, and the staff really took care of our guests. We wouldn't change a single thing and highly recommend The Rivermill to couples looking to get married on the NH seacoast.

We had our wedding reception at the Rivermill on November 1, 2014. Even a couple of weeks later, we are getting TONS of compliments about how beautiful the venue is. It is such a great place to get married and have your reception if you do not want the typical, cookie-cutter venue. I loved the exposed ducts and the brick walls; it gave such a modern and industrial-feel to it.

We opted to have the uplighting and we were able to make use of the string lighting that drapes above the dance floor and it really added beautiful ambiance to the room!

About 6 months away from my wedding date, I was informed that the Rivermill had been bought by the owner of Liberty Lane Catering, Kevin & his wife, Starr. As a bride who had been keeping track of every detail, of course I was nervous about the transition but everything was seamless! Any question or issue that I had addressed with the previous owner, Kevin was well aware of and was extremely prepared for our wedding. If I hadn't been told the ownership had transferred to someone else, I really wouldn't have known!

Kevin and Starr and the rest of the Rivermill staff did an incredible job for us the days leading up to the wedding (always being available if I needed drop something off) and on the actual wedding day. They were always able to be found at the venue the evening of the wedding and when we had 2 unexpected guests arrive, Kevin and the Rivermill staff accommodated them without any issues. I really felt so at ease and not stressed AT ALL during my time working with them.

As Kevin also owns Liberty Lane (the preferred caterer of the Rivermill before he took over), he had a great understanding of the Rivermill and how everything worked. He really did a flawless job as did the rest of his team.

This is such a beautiful, spacious venue and I'm so happy my husband and I had discovered it. A real unique gem on the NH seacoast!

Brit and Michelle are such wonderful women we loved working with them.. They are so easygoing yet knowledgeable and fun and completely supportive in every detail of what we wanted. The rivermill is such a unique, beautiful place with a great energy all its own. It's got a vintage feel while at the same time being incredibly classy.. After seeing it that first time we wouldn't have it anywhere else.

We just had our reception here and it was flawless. Everything was set up beautifully, and the staff was so helpful. Our guests loved it.

I can't say enough good things about our experience at the Rivermill in Dover.

We had a very specific vision for our wedding and reception. We wanted it low key, casual, light, springy and very us. We visited some other venues that were very hotel ballroom-y and just didn't feel right. As soon as we walked into Rivermill, we knew it was the perfect place for our brunch wedding. It's a blank slate but has some beautiful details (the old mill floor, the bricks, the huge windows) that make it unique and not TOO blank.

We worked with both Britt and Kirt and they were fantastic. Our calls and emails were returned promptly and they were professional and friendly during every interaction. The day-of went so smoothly that we are still marveling at what a finely tuned machine they are running over on the Cochecho! The included valet was a dream and even those guys were super nice! Britt and Kirt were both on site during our ceremony and reception and helped our day along when we needed it. THANK YOU BOTH.
The only reason I put 4 stars for flexibility was because of the fact that they only allow ONE vendor to provide bar service at the venue (this may not always be the case but it was in May 2013). This doesn't leave wiggle room for other options (e.g. having a different caterer do both food and bar) or competitive pricing. We did work with their preferred bar vendor and they were great so we have no complaints about their service.

Also, being able to have two separate spaces in the same space was wonderful. The giant curtains created a cozy, intimate space for our ceremony and then opened up to reveal the big open, airy reception space! So convenient for our guests (especially those with limited mobility) and great for us since we only had one location to prep!

The space - beautiful. The location - perfect. The price – great. The staff - amazing. I am so so happy we chose the Rivermill.

Having our wedding at the Rivermill was a complete joy. The venue is unique and industrial; the choices in catering, flowers, etc., are flexible (and fantastic); the staff is fun and professional; and the downtown Dover location can't be beat, with one hotel within walking distance and another providing free shuttle service for our guests. And there's complementary valet parking to boot! I can't say enough good things about the Rivermill, and would definitely recommend the venue to fellow Boston residents -- it's only about an hour from the city, and the Amtrak Downeaster stops conveniently nearby. I honestly can't imagine getting hitched anywhere else.

My husband and I were in search of a venue that was far from the typical country club with cookie cutter options and decor. Moreover, I was really hoping to find a venue with an industrial feel to it. After months of searching I came across Rivermill at Dover Landing and KNEW it was the right fit for us! As soon as we stepped into the space and saw the high ceilings, exposed brick, hardwood floors, and huge windows we let out a sigh of relief because our search was over! I began working with Michelle; however, after she left Rivermill Britt was there to step right in and help us put the finishing touches to our wedding day.

We were able to use teal accents and beautiful pink and white penoies to spruce up the tables. We also hung teal, pink, and white paper lanterns over the dance floor, which looked AMAZING (I think paper lanterns are a must for this venue)! Our guests are still raving about the gorgeous venue as well as all of the details we put into the decor! In addition, we had stunning photo opportunities that were made possible by the unique look of Rivermill!

Our event was a bit unusual ...a gathering for friend and family after a funeral. Riverview provided profession, caring services. We had 400 people attend. They were all impressed with the venue and the service provided. I recommend Riverview all the time for any event, party or gathering.

This is a beautiful venue to have a wedding. The staff are very awesome and helped me out a lot. Thanks to Britt and Michelle for making my wedding night a night I will never forget.

This is such a great venue and a great team running it! If you are looking for a venue that you can make your own, this is the place to go. the one thing I knew I didn't want when planning my wedding was the typical hotel ballroom where you were forced into a certain mold for what the wedding would be. With exposed brick, flexibility on layout, meal format (sit down dinner, buffet, stations), even table linens - it was great to be able to go through and personalize step by step. The venue changed ownership in the middle of my planning but the transition was seamless and I never felt like the ball was being dropped.

My only piece of advice when working with Rivermill, remember that they are professionals and they have a wedding/event almost every week (if not more), the response time may not be what you are expecting (I know I got anxious sometimes) but they know exactly what they are doing and will have everything running flawlessly on your big day.

Well first of all, everyone absolutely loved our wedding, and said it was the best they'd ever been to! We couldn't have been happier with Rivermill and the staff there. I worked mainly with Britt during my planning process, and she was always very responsive to my billion questions!

We were looking for an offbeat venue, as neither of us wanted to throw a wedding in a hotel ballroom or a country club--we were definitely looking for something a little different and Rivermill was perfect. I loved the high ceilings and the brick walls, and the support beams everywhere that we wrapped in white lights. It looked spectacular!

Among the things we loved:

- They offer a full selection of colors for table linens, and don't charge extra for them. I wanted purple tablecloths and got them without breaking the bank.

- You can have long banquet tables instead of round, and the chairs are nice-looking so you don't have to buy covers for them.

- The wide selection of caterers at different price points, we were easily able to find a caterer we loved (Galley Hatch).

- All the extras like uplighting, and the white lights for the beams, and more.

- Their set up team did a gorgeous job--I admit to wondering all day how the room would look when I walked in for the first time, since I wouldn't be there to see it all for myself. And it was totally PERFECT. Loved it.

The only thing I struggled with was something that was not really anyone's fault. At the time we booked, the venue was just opening. They didn't have their full price list yet, particularly for the extras. So sometimes as we were going through our planning, some of the things I had talked about and counted on doing all along, like the uplighting on the walls, the white lights on the beams, the photo booth area, etc. came with charges that were something of a surprise.

But overall, the experience was completely wonderful--it was a perfect day and I wouldn't change a thing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rivermill to other brides.

The Rivermill is a wonderful, beautiful, affordable venue and the staff is very helpful. We had a wedding of 200+ guests and it was perfect, even with a big crowd. All the recommended vendors were great as well. We used DJ Nate Downs, Seacoast Catering (dinner) and Liberty Lane Catering (bar service) and we were very happy with each of them and the flexibility they let us have for all our special requests (and we had a lot of them!) I highly recommend the Rivermill, if we had to do it over again we would not have changed a thing!

We originally booked with the previous owners, only to find out that the venue had been sold to the new owners. The early planning phase was a little frustrating because we had a lot of questions due to the change in ownership and responses were not always quick or clear. We got two different answers from the owners regarding ceremony timing, which would have been nice to have them on the same page. As we got closer to the day, communication was much better and it was clear that things would run smoothly on the day of our wedding. Kevin was so thoughtful with his advice and assistance in the timing of the day. The venue itself is beautiful and it made for some amazing pictures.

Rivermill was the perfect fit for our wedding - the venue look, style, and location was all up our ally. We absolutely loved having our wedding there, and the ease of use with the ceremony and reception being in the same space was key! Rivermill knew what they were doing and got it all taken care of on the day of, so I never had to worry.

However, there were slight concerns through the whole process. Communicating with them can be difficult and scheduling meetings to get things arranged wasn't the easiest. I will say that I wasn't 100% confident that everything was being taken care of on their end. In the end, they pulled it off brilliantly and I couldn't have been happier. However, just know that in choosing this fun and cool venue, that you might have to be a little more on top of your game.

I fell in love with the Rivermill and after much debate and a lot of alternative venue tours, we decided to go with the space that we loved, even though it was by far the most costly. The point person we met with, Kevin, isn’t super friendly or helpful. We didn’t get to do a taste testing, but we’re basically required to use his catering company. The food was OK, not bad, definitely not great. We also had planned to have a full cocktail hour that included free beer, wine and liquor, full bar. After the first hour of the reception, they were supposed to switch to open bar on beer and wine only. They didn’t. They forgot to do so and we hit our max budget within 2 1/2 hours. My Matron of honor realized what had happened and tried to talk to Kevin about the issue. He pretended like he didn’t know what she was talking about. She had to pull me and tell me the news. I had to track him down in the middle of my wedding reception to express my extreme frustration and ask him to make it right. It took some negotiating and far too much time out of my very expensive party, but eventually he acquiesced. This review would be much worse had he not. He agreed to cover the cost of beer and wine for the remainder of the reception. It took a full ten minutes to shake off the heated conversation, and frankly, the right thing to do would have been to make it right when my Matron I’d Honor brought it to his attention. So, all that being said, the space is absolutely perfect and because of this, I would (with some reservations) recommend it to others. Please make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing. Likely, it will save you some serious dollars in the end.

For my wedding reception at Rivermill, we were married the second year they were in business (2012) so their prices were still reasonable. Unfortunately, my experience was soured when our business was passed from Jen (the sales rep who showed the space) to Britt (the event coordinator). Because my wedding was to be held on a Friday evening, I was told during my tour that I would be permitted to access the space the night before our wedding. When our big day approached, I was unapologetically told by Britt that it would not be possible and that Jen had been fired. I suppose this was meant as an excuse as to why they weren't following through. On the other hand, the day was beautiful and the venue photographs so nicely, inside and out. My florist had trouble getting into the venue, which was another mark on their management skills. They recommended Marshall Rental where we experienced a man with light blue eyes who was extremely unprofessional, rude, and insisted on charging for delivery although Britt had said it would be free if delivered to Rivermill. The site was so versatile and accessible, and we appreciated the valet parking; so quite a mixed review. Would not recommend to a friend.
