    Absolutely PERFECT place for our wedding reception! It was a beautiful venue and everyone there was just a pleasure to work with! They helped make my day perfect!!!!

    River Rock Event Center was the venue for my son's rehearsal dinner, a Texas-themed barbeque dinner. The event center is beautiful - both inside and outside. Susie and her staff were attentive to all the details and made sure the evening ran smoothly. They were very professional and accommodating to some last minute changes. Our guests could not stop talking about the venue and how awesome it was! Thanks RREC for a memorable evening!

    I could not ask for better service or a more elegant location to have a special event. From the moment I walked into River Rock, the staff made me and my husband feel at ease and their professionalism made us feel that our event was in good hands. The staff was always ready to answer our questions and helped us work through details that we had not even thought of. The staff was patient and incredibly understanding. I would not hesitate to re-book any future event with them and will highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a place to hold their special occasion.

    Maggie and her staff did an excellent job with the preparations for my daughters wedding. Everything was beautiful. I couldn't have asked for more.

    River Rock Event Center provides a beautiful venue with a texas-tuscan feel, perfect for any event with multiple rooms with a great flow and fabulous outdoor spaces. We had a baby shower there, the tables were decorated adorably with antique baby items, the food and service was excellent and they had the fireplace going which was wonderful after lunch to sit around and open up baby gifts. The beauty and serenity of the location with all the deer as you drive in through the field approaching the venue is so picturesque. Susie, Janis and the whole family will make you feel like family. No one wanted to leave. In fact, we rented the two cottages for the weekend, and made it a family reunion.

    I have hosted many parties and Susie Richardson and her staff made this one of the less stressful and perfect parties ever. Highly recommend this venue

    if you want a place with beautiful surroundings and professional help, go no further. All the guests at my husband's surprise party were in awe at how lovely the dining room was decorated. The wait staff was very efficient and helpful.

    My twin sister and I celebrated our milestone birthday at the River Rock. It was so perfect we are still aglow when we think about our celebration. Susie Richardson deserves kudos for offering ideas to capitalize on the style of the venue, organizing the flow of the event (welcome table, happy hour, dinner, entertainment and dancing).and arranging the space to be used. It was a beautiful setting, plenty of space for our Mariachi group to focus on all of our guests, a dance floor to shout about and a move to the patio for a Happy Birthday chorus with sparklers. You had to have been there!

    Successful parties do not happen on there own. The staff aptly cleared place settings without disruption while preparing the dessert table. The DJ was able to plug into the Center's sound system; the bar was staffed the entire evening. All staff were helpful and courteous. Again, thank you Susie for being with us from our first visit to the end of the event. You are the best!

    Book your wedding here! It's a must! I don't ever take the time to write reviews; as this is my first review EVER, but I felt this was very much needed. Suzie, Maggie and the rest of the clan made our wedding PERFECT. They are an extremely helpful and hardworking family. They will go out of their way to make things happen. I couldn't have asked for a better place to have our wedding. I promise you will not be dissapointed if you book this venue. Not only is it a gorgeous place to have a wedding but everyone there is easy to work with and the sweetest people to be around.

    This is a lovely venue in a quiet setting in Fair Oaks Ranch. We had our daughter's bridal brunch here before her wedding. It was wonderful. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. We are trying to think of something we can celebrate here again soon!

    The April meeting of the Fair Oaks Ranch Women's Club was wonderful. Susie and family went over the top to make sure that everything was very special. The setting was just perfect for our needs. The banquet room is adaptable for a wedding, anniversary, family reunion, celebration, or corporate event. Joyce Horst, Past President, FORWC.

    The event center is beautiful, and Susie and her family were very attentive to our needs and requests. We had an AMAZING time, and will definitely plan other events here.

    This place was absolutely beautiful. We had almost not decorations because the venue was to beautiful to mess with. If you look at this venue it will speak for itself. Tons of options for ceremony inside and out. Large gorgeous receptions area with fire place. And the coordinator with the venue was absolutely wonderful!

    Our daughter's June wedding at River Rock Event Center was magical. Their wedding coordinator Dixie Howell and the Chef Chase worked with us to create the event we wanted. Prior to the event, Dixie helped us make a plan for the entire evening, and then had the staff available seven hours before the wedding so that we could add personal touches. They catered to our daughter and her bridesmaids throughout the day with food, fruit, and drinks in the bride's room. The staff set up her wedding on the beautiful front lawn, ushered her guests to the patio for drinks and delicious hors d'oeuvres while the wedding party to took pictures, and then opened their lovely reception hall with its gorgeous lighting and gleaming floors.

    I have to say, as the groom on our wedding day we could not have chosen a better place for a wedding. We searched and visited multiple places in the area and fell in love with this place.

    I really liked the Texas ranch theme, since I had family coming in from Maine this was a great treat to all of them to see. The complex is so clean and neat. Also, every evening there are deer out in the fields which add to it's outdoor theme.

    The staff are incredibly nice! I can't tell you how many venues (some even close by) that we visited for tours and the staff only talked to the bride and only asked questions to the bride- I was essentially nothing to them. NOT here! I was treated with great respect and professionalism. The staff here always checked in with me and included me in on all the conversations and questioning they had about our preferences.

    I highly recommend this venue for a wedding or any other event.

    The April meeting of the Fair Oaks Ranch Women's Club was held at the River Rock Event Center. The grounds and interior of the Center were outstanding and made a beautiful setting for our program. The food and beverage service was outstanding and the room arrangement met every one of our specifications.
    The whole meeting was one of the highlights of our organizations year.

    River Rock Event Center was wonderful to work with from the start and absolutely gorgeous venue! They were always accommodating and really made sure that the reception for my wedding was everything and more that I had dreamt it to be. I even got to take my bridal portrait at the reception hall prior to the wedding without a charge. Some of my family and new in-laws stayed at the awesome cottages that are located on the property and loved the convenience of it. We loved the fact that the weekend was totally ours letting us have our time to set up and take down all of our decorations. Just make sure you know all the charges ahead of time (like the kitchen charge) and pay on time. I would recommend it to my friends and use it for future events if I needed to. Thanks Susie and the staff of River Rock Event Center for making my day so special! It's a Texas Hill Country Gem!

    Overall, the experience was great: however, the day of, our coordinator was late and seemed very frazzled. She seemed overwhelmed with all that needed to be done. We were even more relaxed than she was. But other than that, it was a good experience and everything went great!

    BEAUTIFUL property. No highways, no noise. Quiet, all my guests commented on how amazing the venue was. Would recommend to any of my girls.

    This was the perfect venue for my simple and rustic wedding. We utilized the entire venue (3 outdoor patios and 2 indoor spaces) giving my guests the ability to move about during the reception, which everyone enjoyed. Our guest count was about 110, and we fit perfectly; not sure if you would want to go too much higher than that, though. We also rented the 2 guesthouses which lie on the property, and they are gorgeous. It was an amazing place to spend our wedding night. They also served as a "getting ready" space for the groom and groomsmen, so we could stay seperated before the ceremony.

    The service staff was absolutely wonderful and kind, and the reception ran very smoothly.

    They do not allow outside caterers, and when I asked about doing a tasting before hand, the coordinator was strangely opposed to it and specified that we would be required to pay any costs for a tasting. I, therefore trusted them blindly with the food, but luckily, all the food we were served was excellent. The coordinator was very flexible about my food choices, and we really enjoyed everything we ate.

    My only big complaint about the venue is that the coordinator made several small decisions without consulting me, leaving me with surprises the day of. There was nothing major, all minor details, but every bride has a very detailed image in her mind of what she wants her "special day" to be like, so surprises were not a good thing to me. I appreciated her sentiment of "doing it for me", but I still would have preferred knowing about changes in the details.

    When it came to the cost for everything, the invoices were extremely "general" and were not detailed. My parents covered the cost of the venue, so I didn't push the issue. (If I were paying for it myself, I would have been far more demanding about seeing what exactly I was paying for.) With that said, I think everything was very reasonable and we spent right at what we were anticipating/ told in our initial consultation.

    The coordinator was absolutley delightful for ME to work with, although she did butt heads with all of my bridesmaids, sisters, and a few guests. I think it takes a very strong personality to be able to manage that many people, though, so it didn't really bother me too much.

    All in all, it was an amazing backdrop for the best day of my life.

    The venue was amazing and Susie the owner/manager was great to work with. The price was great. I would have liked to have been able to have the venue the whole day/night and not have to pay extra, seeing as how we paid for the cottages to stay the night and there was no other event going on that evening but we had to end at 10. It still worked out great and again Susie was very accommodating and generous. The only complaint I had and my guests had was they said that the assistant Maggie was very rude. I heard that from my mother and my family. I was told she was was rude and was overheard saying how boring and ugly our wedding was and when was it going to end. I feel there should be professionalism all around. It was a joy working with Susie and I would still recommend this place to friends and family. Everyone enjoyed it and thought your location was beautiful. Thank you for having us.

    The venue was beautiful for the reception and Suzie did a great job pulling it together and adding her artistic touch. The evening was enjoyed by all. As I pointed out to Suzie, there were a couple of feedback items that might be useful in the future.

    This is a gorgeous place - a little out there in Fair Oaks Ranch but well worth the drive. There are a few choices on where to hold the ceremony, which is nice. Max number of ceremony guests is around 100 though due to space for the chairs. A+

    The reception room is about 1700 square feet and will hold about 16 round tables comfortably, in my opinion. We had about 12 plus the buffet and cake table, cookie table, and seating candle table. It was pretty comfy and allowed for a decent dance floor. The only thing I didn't appreciate is that the event coordinator changed during my planning and the new one isn't the easiest to work with or the most flexible. A for place, C for coordinator.

    Joey is the catering manager and while we didn't get to do a tasting or order wines we knew (due to his distributer being a bit off the beaten path), the food was great. The wines included prosecco and Australian wine (both of which I said I did not want) and we paid $150 for a bartender, which ended up being the event coordinator, which I didn't appreciate, but everything else turned out fine. A for food, B for following directions.

    A great venue nestled in the hill country. I wish the packages were a bit more flexible. Might be a better value if you have the ceremony & reception there. Staff hard to get a hold of but in the end come through.

    I am sorry to say, but I had a terrible experience with River Rock Event Center. I booked the venue more than a year in advance, and during my time with River Rock, the venue changed my contact person 3 times. I was never notified at any of these times when my contact person changed; it was always by surprise. With each person, they each told me different things. What started off as a venue that would provide tables, chairs, bartending for an entire evening for 1600 turned into a venue that only provided with a substantial increase in costs. Literally, the week before my wedding, the venue charged me an additional $600 for clean up, consultation, and other fees. I was put in a difficult position and had to pay the price because the show had to go on. However, I NEVER had a consultation with any member of the venue. No one sat down with me to go over the wedding in detail from start to finish, and I had to constantly track them down to pay them. Furthermore, the venue never budged on their increase in cost despite our contract terms, and repeatedly reminded me what huge discounts I was receiving because the actual costs were much more. The whole thing was ridiculous and arguments and negotations went in circles with them never budging. If I had known what type of people I was going to be working with, then I would have NEVER booked them and gladly spent more somewhere else.

    At the wedding, I was promised that the reception dinner room would be closed and locked before I arrived, but I found my guests sitting in the reception dinner room WAY BEFORE I even got to arrive and see the decorations myself.


    Moreover, the reception venue was REPEATEDLY rude with my caterer and rarely returned phone calls to go over the amount of tables and chairs that would be provided. It was not until a week before the wedding that these things got sorted out.

    I understand that things don't go as planned at weddings and sometimes things are done at the last minute. However, this venue was RUDE throughout the whole process. They basically took my money and I received little in return.

    The only positive thing about this venue was the nice location; it is a beautiful site but not worth the hassle with the staff.

    Horrible experience. Janis is so unprofessional it was unreal. I had everything planned with the original venue manager when she was fired 7 days before my wedding in March. Janis made the next week unbearable. She accused my family of not paying off things that were paid, said it was my fault because her venue manager didn’t get a receipt for themselves and asked to look at my banking statements for proof!! Wouldn’t move furniture or potted plants that we planned to move (very cluttered inside and out), and wouldn’t let us use tables that we planned to use. She can’t remember anything she agrees to and does not keep her word. We literally started from scratch 7 days before the wedding. She did not even know my guest count! And threatened the linens might not show in time as if it were my fault they were being ordered late... what?! This place is a nightmare! STAY AWAY for your own good!

    WORST VENUE EVER!!!! BRIDES BEWARE!!!! If I could place everything I wanted in here, I would. Unfortunately, I'll keep it short. Janis is rude, unprofessional, unorganized, and forgetful. Contract was signed a year in advance, yet new owner (Janis) changed everything. She promised us things in March when we 1st met such as linens and set-up included and booking our own security. Days before the wedding, she began to try to charge us for these items and tell us we couldn't book our own security. Once we questioned her via email, Janice NEVER responded to anything after receiving the remaining balance and more. Janice even changed things on the day of and tried to tell others vendors how to do their job. Asked us and vendors to be out by 1130 so she could be home. If you book this venue, good luck. My advance to others is to record conversations and get everything on paper. Because if not, she'll forget and will make you pay. It is honestly sad due to the venue being so gorgeous. I wish no bride to have to deal with these people or venue on the biggest day of their lives.

    Signed the contract several months ago with the daughter of the owner. The owner either fired her or let her go. The owner didn't want to follow through with several things on the contract. Had to fight for everything that was in our the contract. She said it was her daughters contract not hers...even though Janis owned it. What's so sad, the venue is so beautiful! But I would never recommend using the venue if Janis was running it. She never came out and check to see if we needed anything during our rehearsal dinner. I had to go and find her to turn on The air conditioning in the venue room, outdoor fans for patio... She was rude to several people we had hired to help us with the evening. Sooo disappointed! I could go on with so many more negative things! I was determined to enjoy our evening without letting her ruin it! So glad we could look the other way and continue our fun Night!

    River Rock Event Center came dangerously close to ruining my wedding. I, like the bride who posted before me, went through multiple people while planning my wedding. None of which knew what the other had promised. We battled over every detail. At first they refused to accomadate anything, let alone the indoor space they promised. They kept telling me that it was impossible to accomodate the number of people necessary, but come the day of one of their employees told me not to worry, they have put that number in for weddings plenty of times. They refused to take down Christmas decorations they had promised would not be up. They tacked on last minute fees. Imagine, a consultation fee when all you get is hostility, & no consultation. I hate to be nasty, but I would truly hate for anyone else to experience as much anxiety as I did. These are people who are focused on the money. Not serving their customers. The location is beautiful, the price is right, but you do end of paying for what you get.

    DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE! They are completely dishonest. When I signed with them, I was told they could do my X amount of guest for X amount of dollars, but they would not put it in writing because "they don't do things that they. They do it customized based on your budget." That is bull. Do not believe it from Dixie Howell, she is a sales person and only interested in your money. When I contacted the owner, I was telling her my predicament about being charged 35% more than originally quoted (yes, you read that correctly, 35% more), so which she replied, "WELL, I'M NOT GOING TO JUST SIT HERE AND TALK ABOUT DIXIE BEHIND HER BACK." Great customer service. To top it off, when we had to find another venue, because we simply could not afford what they were charging, they refused to give us our $1000.00 deposit back, saying "we signed the contract." DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
