My daughter and son-in-law could not have chosen a more perfect venue for their wedding! The mansion, located on the river provided a stunning setting for their wedding. Peyton, the event coordinator at River Forest Manor, along with the owners and staff, all went out of their way to help make the couples day all they envisioned. They were accessible from day one of planning and throughout the wedding day. The wedding party got ready for the big day inside the breathtaking rooms of the manor. The front lawn and the draped manor provided a stunning setting for the ceremony. Guests then enjoyed appetizers and cocktails inside the amazing mansion. Dinner and dancing followed in the pavilion overlooking the river at sunset. All of the food, prepared by their Chef Jeremy and his staff, was delicious! I cannot say enough good things about River Forest Manor. I highly recommend this venue to make all your wedding dreams come true. ❤️ -

Everything from the first meeting with Peyton Tooley to the beautiful evening of our son's rehearsal dinner went very well. She was so easy to work with and very helpful. We received many compliments on the venue and the food was very good. We used the entire restaurant because we had 44 guests at the dinner and it was the perfect choice. I can't say enough about how enjoyable everything was and stress free!

Macy & the team at River Forest Manor are so kind and professional, they will literally bend over backwards to make sure your wedding day is flawless. We found River Forest Manor through a family friend’s referral. Not being local to the Belhaven area, we toured over 15 very nice wedding venues from Maryland to Asheville, but nothing could truly top the experience we knew we would have at River Forest, so we booked it! There isn’t another gorgeous old mansion on the water you can rent for a whole weekend- this is it!! We did their weekend long package and it was definitely worth it. We were able to house close family, bridesmaids, and of course us, for the weekend. Most of our guests (90 total) were able to stay at vacation rentals in Belhaven too. We did our rehearsal dinner in the River room, and I had my bridesmaids luncheon on the front porch. If I would have added one more event, it would have been either a cocktail welcome party on the first floor or a Sunday brunch in the front parlors! Our weekend was stunning and after our wedding, I really miss my time at River Forest. This venue really has it all and can accommodate weddings both large and small, and many styles. We are so happy we chose River Forest and have the most joyous memories of this stunning place. -

Best Day Ever!
River Forest Manor was the perfect setting for our daughter’s October wedding. The outdoor ceremony on the front steps was beautiful and the river views made for breathtaking sunset photos and a spectacular reception. We utilized the entire facility and all of the rooms for the wedding party and guests, providing a central location for all wedding activities throughout the entire weekend. The on-site accommodations were cozy, comfortable, and convenient. The rooms in the main house were all tastefully decorated and reflect the Victorian architecture of the Manor. It was a pleasure working with Montana Lausch. Her expertise, knowledge and attention to detail were invaluable to us. We highly recommend River Forest Manor as an amazing venue for any celebration. -

Absolutely Amazing!
River Forest was a dream vendor to work with. Montana, the venues manager, was responsive knowledgeable and flexible! I could not have asked for a better venue to work with during the pandemic! We were able to hold a small ceremony there in 2020 and will hold “Wedding part 2” there in 2021! We’re so excited. This venue was a “must” for my husband and I! He used to visit it as a child and I love the water and well restored historic homes. You could not have a better venue for everything we wanted! River Forest Manor and Marina is stunning and dreamy all on its own! Working with them made it that much better, they are truly incredible and made our wedding day a dream come true! Montana who I worked closely with, took customer service to an entirely different level, she is a treasure and this place is EVERYTHING you could ever dream of and more! -

I had so many compliments, not only from attendees but also from strangers and people who had passed by the manor on the day of the wedding on how pretty everything looked and how gorgeous the manor was! Also, Montana was simply amazing! She answered all of my questions quickly, she gave advice, and she even helped out at my bridal portraits even though she didn’t have to! She was one of the awesome people that helped the wedding planning and day of go so smoothly. So very please and appreciative!

Shelby Sent on 02/02/2018We rented the entire manner and Bungalo’s from Thursday through Sunday. We had a spectacular wedding weekend. Montana was absolutely wonderful at the manner and all of the support staff was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this as a gorgeous turn-of-the-century venue with the added extra of a vintage small town on the beautiful Pungo river.

We enjoyed three nights of luxurious accommodations and were able to host the rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding reception at this grand, up scale venue. The staff was extremely responsive and accommodating throughout the planning process and the wedding weekend. They made sure everything was perfect from beginning to end! If you are looking for a truly unique and special place to host a wedding or special event, River Forest Manor is the place!

A place of tranquility and history. Definitely a place to plan an event at. The Bridal suite was elegant and hosted excellent views of the Marina.
The grounds are kept great and our wedding was the Royal Wedding it was billed to be. -
