Sophia was very helpful with planning my daughters wedding. She took care of all the details for us..
The day was just perfect!!
Everyone at the resort was extremely nice...The food and shows were over the top.
We'll l for sure revisit someday!

Our contact was Sophia Hauton. She was exceptional at explaining wedding options for the resort. She made an exception from usual policy to allow our wedding to be done on the day we requested. She provided a free upgrade of room since we were getting married. Per our request, she coordinated our room locations for our guests so we were close together. A half hour before our beach wedding, it started raining. She agreed to delay the wedding for a short time in order to give the chance for the rain to clear (which it did), and we were still able to have our beach wedding. She offered choices of flower and photography vendors and her recommendations were excellent.

My ceremony and reception was at this hotel. It's was a group of 42. And everyone had no complaints from anyone! The atmosphere was great. You can't go wrong with a bar on the pool! The only thing is I hoped they had a club At night like at the riu negril down The block But we went over there one night and had fun too.
my wedding was great and we even invited other guest to join us lol.

Wedding Coordinator - Sophia

Ceremony Music – We decided last minute and Sophia had no problem accommodating us.

Flowers - Tia Flora - My bouquet was gorgeous and arrived at 1pm at the resort. I was not impressed that they started to put up my arch at 3:35 p.m. when my wedding was to take place at 4:00 p.m. We had to start the wedding later due to the fact that the arch was not up as of yet. I had guests seated while they were still setting up. Not to mention I had upgraded my arch and paid an additional $800.00

Officiant - provided with the Caprice package. He was excellent, no complaints :)

Rehearsal Dinner Location - this was not given as an option. I wanted to do a bonfire on the beach however there was a cost of $400 USD. The resort should give couples who have large parties something additional to accommodate. With all the guests we spent well over $100,000 at this resort.

Wedding Cake – provided with the caprice package – this resort does not use fondant on their cakes. I did not have the wedding cake of my dreams but it made due. Also as I am West Indian we requested black cake to be prepared the day before, the resort had it ready for me for an additional charge of $50.00.

Wedding Planning – The Riu does not confirm many details until you arrive and meet with the coordinator.

The RIU needs to offer a better incentive to couple bringing a large group to their resort. We felt like they didn’t care that we brought 81 people from North America to spend time and money at their resort.
