DJ Derik was a breath of fresh air when we were looking for a dj for our wedding. He was kind, quick, professional, and above all a very reasonable price! If I had to have a criticism, is that we didn't get all of our requested songs played, but DJ Derik explained well in advanced why that might be the case. Overall a great experience! -

DJ Derik is the best!!
We hired DJ Derik for our wedding and he was phenomenal. Not only with his professional set up, punctuality, and ability to get the crowd going but also by being a great person to work with! He really wants to make your day the best it can be. As a musician/performer myself, I had very high expectations and Derik blew them all away!

DJ Derik did a phenomenal job DJing our wedding. In our initial meetings, he immediately made us feel confident in his abilities and it showed through to the wedding when we got numerous compliments on the music. He is a true professional who came in with a lot of great ideas and suggestions. He really knows the ins and outs of DJing a wedding and he made it very easy for us on our wedding day. All the songs he chose got people out on the dance floor which was really important to me. He also was great at making announcements for food, toasts, etc. I highly recommend hiring Derik if you want a smooth wedding with an experienced professional. -

I was so overwhelmed with all my vendors I ended up giving Derik very little information. He made sure everything when off without a hitch. He played excellent music just based off his crowd assessment. He provided great props and a photo booth that had no technical difficulties. We even got our photo booth photos within days. Derik also helped work with my videographer to make sure the lighting was perfect for dancing and filming. -

Amazing wedding entertainment
Derik and Elizabeth were both incredible throughout the entire wedding process! Derik was easy to get a hold of the entire time leading up to the wedding and extremely accommodating. On the day of he was an excellent host for the reception festivities and had the dance floor going all night! All of the guests had a great time and loved his music selection. The photo booth was a huge hit and Elizabeth did an amazing job helping our guests take photos all night long. We are so great full that they were a part of our special night and would highly recommend them because they’re the life of the party! -

They were amazing!
We hired Riptide Entertainment for the Photo Booth, they were amazing! Very professional they were on time and very helpful with assisting taking pictures. They had so many fun props we took so many pictures and had so much fun with it!! I definitely recommend hiring them for your event!! -

Derik is a life saver!
Derik is a life saver. After being referred to another DJ that screwed us over, we found Derik and Riptide Entertainment! It was a blessing in disguise that we had a problem with the prior DJ. If anyone is on the fence about who to hire, I'm telling you, you are done looking when you choose Riptide! The man goes above and beyond, and works with you every step of the way and makes the experience special for who he is working for. He started off as a DJ we hired.......he's now a friend that we will continue to be in contact with. A++++ -

The advance coordination with Derik, the split system for the ceremony/reception, and the option of clip-on mics for the ceremony was everything we could have hoped for. Added so much fun and magic to our big day!
Derik - DJ Riptide, from the very first conversation was such a pleasure to work with. He was so quick to respond, took every idea I had to heart and was positive and upbeat. Derik was so helpful with song selection. He was even able to customize our first dance song! Every song he played at our wedding hit the mark and fit our personalities exactly. All of our guests had such a fun time! Derik was great at making everyone feel a part of the celebration. We highly recommend DJ Riptide for your event and wedding day! -

Derik was great at keeping us on schedule and was flexible during Covid and rescheduling. He also had a song ready to go for an impromptu garter toss (my husband just needed some liquid courage). We couldn’t have asked for better people to surround us on our wedding day! Kept the guests entertained. My husband was not to keen on dancing but DJ Derik made it completely comfortable and would cut the song just in time. Great people and company to have at your wedding. Kody Sent on 12/05/2017I have to start by explaining that my new wife and I are not super easy to work with sometimes. Between my procrastination and her trying to plan the wedding she has always dreamed of, we were hard to get a hold of sometimes. DJ Derik and his awesome wife Rebecca were so patient with us and were never pushy, even when we took forever to get any sort of information to them. They constantly reminded us that they are here for us and can help with anything we need.
On our wedding day, we arrived at the reception venue and were greeted by Derik. He calmly and confidently walked us through a basic outline of the next few hours. He made it easy for us to relax and be able to soak in the entire experience. Throughout the evening, both Derik and Rebecca periodically checked in with us to make sure we were okay and see if we need anything. They were genuinely committed to making this a night no one would forget.
I can be easily annoyed by certain personalities, particularly people that are obviously trying WAY too hard to be funny or appear a certain way. Derik's personality with the mic was spot on. He had a perfect balance of keeping it emotional, but also keeping it light with some light comedy. He wasn't over-the-top with his personality, didn't try to "steal" the show, and certainly wasn't annoying. He fed off the entire crowd the entire night, and was just perfect.
I was told that a good or bad DJ will make or break your wedding. We are BEYOND thrilled that we went with DJ Derik. From the initial quote to the end of our wedding night, he was there for us and made sure we were set up to succeed. I will never use another DJ service for any sort of event in the future, and will absolutely be recommending him to everyone looking for a DJ.

Summit Sent on 03/26/2017Rip Tide entertainment service is beyond anything i have experienced before. They were referred to me by one of their past clients who said there was no one better. I needed their service for a school fundraiser, a Father Daughter dance for our elementary school. I met with Derik and laid out our needs and concerns. We were especially concerned because of the age of the girls and we wanted appropriate music for the age group. We were also concerned with the possibility that the fathers might not be comfortable dancing to their daughters music choices, or dancing at all. In meeting with Derik and Rebecca, i was immediately impressed with their professionalism. They shared with us their many years of experience, over 20 years. After talking through the details, I new they were the ones for us. I booked the event and we began our planning. We had several calls to discuss the logistics of the event. Derik described his equipment, and the list was endless. When he asked us what we wanted or needed, i honestly couldn't answer him. I didn't really know what we needed, since we hadn't planned such an event before. Derik said not to worry, and asked if he could schedule a time to come look at the venue so he could make a proper suggestion. Much to my amazement, Derik drove 90 minutes each way, to come look for himself and didn't even attempt to charge us for the trip. Our event day was upon us. Derik and Rebecca showed up at the committed time and immediately got to work. Between the unbelievable sound and the amazing light show they created, everyone was just amazed. The night could not have been any better. The girls danced constantly and even the dads!! Derik stepped away from his stage and even gave lessons to the dads on how to line dance. The girls just loved it. We cant thank Rip Tide entertainment enough. Derik and Rebecca were just amazing. When many of the girls gave them hugs and several dads gave handshakes, i knew we made the right choice. Thank you! -

He kept the wedding moving and inspired the guests to join in on the fun and make sure they were part of our big day. I will definitely be using Derek in the future and recommending him to anyone having a wedding, party or any special event you want a good DJ. I would say that Derek felt more like family on our Wedding day rather than just a DJ.
