Highly recommend

My father insisted on having a live musician at our wedding and I am so extremely happy that he did. After he and my brother found Rich online, Rich was very responsive and helpful with coming up with an idea for the overall wedding procession and evening. What blew our minds the most was his desire to fulfill our song wishlist, and even more so his willingness and enthusiasm to learn a new song from our country, especially considering he only had one week to do so. My husband, I, and our family wholeheartedly thank Rich for being such a delight and for adding such lovely atmosphere to our day. We highly recommended Rich to others and hope to book him again in the future.

Gorgeous music

Wonderful ceremony musician

Rich was amazing to work with for our wedding ceremony music. We gave him some ideas of what we wanted played (we went with Beatles/classic rock music played on classical guitar, which was BEAUTIFUL), and he handled the rest! We didn't have to worry about a thing. Thanks Rich!! 10/10, would hire again.

Exceptional wedding guitarist!

We chose Rich for our wedding September 19 in Baltimore. He was everything we could have hoped for and more. From the first time we reached out he responded promptly with detailed information. He was available for extensive back and forth before the ceremony. He learned two new songs for us, a processional and recessional. And his song book for the seating music and any post-ceremony playing is especially versatile, from professional-level classical guitar to Despacito and hits across the last several generations. On top of all that, he's humble and gracious and a delight to work with. Thanks Rich!

True Musician

Rich played for my daughter's small outdoor wedding. She was an hour late due to her makeup artist car breaking down. Rich, without me asking, just jumped in and made things beautiful with his music. He was so professional and kind. Everyone told me they didn't even feel uncomfortable having to wait because of his playing. He made my daughter feel so special walking to her new husband. At the end of the night almost all the guest asked who he was and how did I find such a talented guitarist. His music made many souls peaceful in a time we all needed just that. I highly recommend Rich.

Amazing musician!

Rich was fantastic! After our original guitarist was unable to reschedule for our new date (rescheduled because of COVID), I was frantically searching for a new musician for our wedding. Rich was extremely professional and provided great advice and recommendations for our ceremony music. He has a large range of music you can pick from and he even offered to learn any songs that we wanted for our big day. His performance on the day of our wedding was also perfect. We got plenty of compliments from our guests about the music during the ceremony and cocktail hour. Overall, Rich is amazing and you won't regret booking him.

Every little girl dreams of the perfect wedding and my dream was quite simple. I dreamt of a wedding in a garden with twinkle lights and romantic guitar music playing in the background. And Mr. Barry played a huge role in making my dream wedding come true. He is truly a beautiful artist who knows his craft very very well. He performed during our ceremony and reception. He played new hits like "All of Me" by John Legend and beautiful classics as well. He can play Spanish guitar ballads with ease. And to top it all off my husband is Moroccan and I had one request that even I thought might be too much - could he listen to Moroccan music and possibly play it on a guitar. And I will tell you that he recreated Moroccan music on his guitar so well that everyone recognized the songs and sang along. Now that is talent!! You will not be sorry when you book Mr. Barry for your wedding!!!

Rich is an absolute sweetheart and a gifted artist. His music is enchanting. We felt very lucky and thrilled about all of the talented, insanely hard-working people we got to work with on our wedding day, but Rich stood out for his overall wonderfulness. Wanting to go a non-traditional wedding music route for our wedding, we selected Rich Barry to play traditional Spanish guitar at our wedding. Based on only one email and one quick planning telephone conversation, Rich worked diligently with us to select the music for the ceremony. He also was quick to grasp the tone we were hoping to achieve during the cocktail hour. His preparation was so thorough and timely, we knew everything was truly ready. All that was left to do was wait for the wedding. Rich made everything so easy. He also was a very talented performer. Many guests remarked on how lovely the guitar music was, and how much they appreciated the uniqueness of his talent.

Rich Barry was truly a highlight of our wedding. We received numerous positive comments from our guests. He is extremely talented.

One of the things that stands out most about Rich Barry is his professionalism and politeness... He responded promptly to the many questions I threw his way. He has also done this a few times and provides a lot of helpful information, which to me was very appreciated - I didn't realize how many tiny little details go into planning a wedding until is was our turn to do it, so having some helpful guidance was very welcomed and a big help!

Rich Barry was one of the elements of our wedding that I could just rely on - he worked independently, arrived ahead of time to set up, immediately went to the cocktail hour after the ceremony and kept our guest entertained... His presence added a uniqueness to our wedding day and took the class factor up a few notches.

I really cannot recommend him enough. Looking back there are aspects of my overall wedding day that I would alter a little. Rich Barry is definitely one the elements I wouldn't change a bit! He is wonderful and it was a privilege to have him as part of our big day!

Rich's music is beautiful, and the presentation is wonderful as well. We received so many compliments on the music at our reception. Aside from the presentation, he was very responsive to all of my emails and very professional. I'd highly recommend him for weddings or any event you'd like to make unique.

Rich and the violinist he works with (I can't remember her name!) played for our wedding ceremony. I was very particular about the music I wanted played, which included a few songs that weren't on his list, and he was so flexible and accommodating. The two of them learned the Anne of Green Gables theme song, "Anne's Theme," for my processional, and I'll never forget how perfect it was. Just beautiful.

Although I did not even get the chance to see Rich on the wedding day, he was a great vendor to work with! Very responsive, friendly, and super easy-going. The music was great and he provided a microphone for our officiant. His prices were extremely reasonable and he is a great guitarist!

Rich performed with a violinist for our ceremony and reception. Beautiful music and he did a great job keeping the mood romantic for the ceremony and more upbeat for the reception dinner. Professional, talented, and super accommodating to our song requests (note: the imperial march played on guitar and violin is pretty amazing as a recessional!). Definitely recommend hiring him AND getting his CD!

Rich is an absolutely amazing musician and a true professional. He played the guitar for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Not only was he able to play all of the pieces we requested, he was able to add something in at the very last minute. In addition, he was a complete pleasure to speak with at the wedding!!! Rich's passion for music was obvious as he played his guitar during the ceremony and cocktail hour. Many of our guests approached him during the cocktail hour to express their pleasure at hearing his music, and he in return told them how much he enjoyed playing in such a beautiful environment (Castle Hill Cider)

We booked Rich w/a strings trio (guitar, violin, and cello) for our June wedding, and they performed the prelude at the church, as well as during cocktails. Though I wasn't at the church while they played, I was told by countless guests how beautiful their music was, and how they set the perfect tone for our special celebration. Their music at cocktails was amazing, as well. Rich was incredibly professional and responsive to any and all questions, and I would recommend highly to anyone considering hiring a guitar or other strings!

We came to NYC from Australia to get married and hired Rich to play guitar at both our ceremony and the cocktail hour at our reception. From the moment we made contact he was very efficient at responding to emails and accommodated our special requests. His music was so beautiful and made the day truly memorable, I would definitely recommend him to anyone considering acoustic guitar for their wedding or event!

AMAZING!! That is all I can say. We booked Rich for the cocktail and dinner hours at our wedding reception along with a live violinist. This was a detail my mother really pushed for...and I am so happy she did. People are still talking about how wonderful the music was. We had Rich and the violinist play a mix of classical and modern music. The music was recognizable and very well played.

Throughout the planning process Rich was informative and helpful. I will highly recommend him to family and friends...and if I ever need to book live music in the future he will be my first phone call!

Rich performed at my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, and although I was unable to hear most of Rich's music as the bride, what I did hear was perfect! I had many compliments from wedding guests at the quality of the music played, and working with Rich went very smoothly. I honestly can’t remember how my now-husband and I first found out about Rich, but I’m very glad that we did! After listening to the sound clips on his website, we were very impressed, and booked him immediately to play our ceremony and cocktail hour! We received so many compliments on his music, that I know we made the right decision :-).

I’ll admit that I don’t know a lot about music, but Rich is truly one of the most talented guitarists I’ve ever heard play. He was always incredibly gracious, polite, responsive, professional, and friendly throughout the whole process...and he answered all of the million questions that I’m sure I threw at him! On top of that, his rates are incredibly reasonable.

Rich is the utmost professional, and brings his entire sound system with him, along with lapel mics for the officiant and anyone doing readings...talk about convenient! He arrived early the day of our wedding to make sure everything was prepared and set up well in advance (I’m a worrier, so I LOVE that!).

For someone who typically worries about everything, it was very refreshing to know that I didn’t have to worry at all about how the music would be handled for our ceremony and cocktail hour – I trusted Rich implicitly, and knew that everything would be perfect! I highly recommend Rich, and really cannot say enough good things about our experience with him. He truly did an amazing job in helping to make our wedding day everything we ever dreamed it could be! Thank you again for everything, Rich!

When our cousin (professional musician) suggested that we hire a guitarist to provide music at our wedding, we were actually quite skeptical. It's because we was used to seeing and hearing string quartet perform at wedding ceremonies. But once we started doing more research and listened to classical guitarists perform at weddings, we both absolutely fell for it.

Rich was a real pleasure to work with. Typically, it was difficult to find someone who met the professional standard that we desired. Even if they were great musicians, many of them lacked general professionalism particularly in their communication (via email, phone or in-person) skills. Rich truly hit the spot for our difficult/peculiar working style. He first of all, is a great guitarist and quites a few of our guests complemented his performance. They all thought it was a very classy and unique wedding music performance.

We'd most definitely recommend Rich to any couple searching for musician(s) to perform at their wedding. And even if you're not familiar with classical guitarists performing at weddings, we HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest that you listen to a few pieces before you decide to go with an ordinary string quartet. Just trust us on this -- you will thank us later.

Rich is a truly great guitarist. He has such a wide range of music selections and knows how to set the mood for a wedding ceremony and cocktails. His equipment is first rate and he is able to work in diverse settings which we really needed because our ceremony was outside and our cocktails were in an old library and he was seated in an opera box. He was responsive and professional and I highly recommend him.

Rich Barry is a absolutely wonderful guitarist and we are so fortunate to have had him perform at our wedding.
Rich is incredibly talented and a true pleasure to work with. He was very helpful in helping us choose music for our ceremony and even arrived a bit early to play the processional through for my girls so they would be able to have a quick pre-wedding rehearsal. We received non-stop compliments on the ceremony music and Mr. Barry's wonderful choices of prelude and postlude selections.

Rich Barry is a paragon of professionalism. He's respectful, polite, and accommodating. Rich learned over 10 new songs for my wedding. Not just learned them, but adapted them for guitar himself! He was amazing! The music was beautiful. But better than the music was Rich Barry. He brought a sound system, and allowed the Officiant to use his mic. He was early, prepared, courteous, and everything else I could possibly ask for, all while being extremely affordable! I would recommend Rich Barry 100 times over!

I was lucky enough to discover Rich Barry on the United with Love blog. My now husband is a former professional trumpet player and needless to say very particular about the music we had at our wedding. As soon as he listened to Rich’s samples on his (awesome!) website we booked him immediately! Rich was always very responsive and professional. We had both Rich with guitar and a violinist play at our church service and then Rich played guitar at our cocktail hour. I loved walking into our cocktail party and hearing Rich on the guitar! Rich Barry is the best. He was so helpful, offered great advice on which tunes to play when, and used his own talents and knowledge to make each song his own style. He was always quick to respond and gave us his opinions to help better our ceremony and cocktail hour. He and his violinist are truly two humble people, with talent beyond words. I highly recommend Rich Barry. He is the picture of a professional. He is always quick to reply to emails and was very helpful with our music selections. I wasn't really sure what I wanted, but I told him what I didn't want, and he helped steer me in the right direction. I loved the songs we ended up with. He is an extremely talented musician and our guests raved about him. We hired him for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and we left the cocktail hour choices up to him. I hardly got to see him and didn't hear any of the cocktail hour (we were taking photos) but I heard it was wonderful. Definitely contact Rich as a wedding musician!

In the stressful process of wedding planning, having a vendor as responsive and easy to work with as Rich was wonderful. Rich made suggestions for music in our ceremony when we just couldn't decide and the selections were perfect. Rich provides great value, he came early to set up the sound system and provided microphones for our officiant and readings and was very professional. All of the setup details aside, Rich's guitar performance during our ceremony and cocktail hour was fantastic; my husband and I loved it, we couldn't imagine a more joyful sound or a better soundtrack for our wedding day!

We had Rich and a violinist play our ceremony and cocktail hour. The ceremony was mostly traditional music, and the cocktail hour was more pop/current pieces. They all sounded fantastic, and it was just the right tone for the event. Our guests thought they were a unique mix of live music compared to most other weddings. The addition of the violinist was also worth it for anyone on the fence between a solo and duo.

We chose Rich because he was rated very highly on gigmasters.com, and ended up having him and a violinist play for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He was very prompt in responding to emails and sent us useful information on choosing music including a list of popular songs he does for each part of the wedding. For the processional, I requested a song that he had not played before, but he took it in stride and it turned out great! He was on time and brought all his own equipment, was very professional, and even chatted with my music-obsessed dad about guitars for a bit. The music was just right - traditional but with a twist, elegant, and unobtrusive. I thought the price was very reasonable. Overall I would highly recommend Rich!

Amazing! We could not have asked for a more talented musician to play at our wedding. Rich was extremely professional and totally flexible with our music selection for our wedding ceremony. We opted for a more contemporary route (Beatles, Elvis, etc) and he played it all brilliantly!

Congratulations! If you are reading reviews about Mr. Rich Barry, then you have found the right musician for your event! We had our wedding on March 6, 2010, and Mr. Barry and a violinist (Minsun) provided our live music. I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful this duet sounded. Mr. Barry has clearly performed at many venues, before and really did not require any direction or guidance at all. He is extremely professional, organized, and maintained excellent communication throughout the process. Several of our guests, including the Officiant, had requested his contact information as well as CD samples of his music. Rich and Minsun helped make our day unforgettable! I would highly recommend Mr. Barry for your special day, and know that I will be looking for him for any future events we might plan.

We found Richard's music on the web which we thought would be perfect for our wedding, except we were to be married on the West Coast. Instead, we hired a marriachi for the entertainment (which was great for our venue which was a Spanish style villa), but Richard provided us with his recording for our ceremony music. Richard's guitar solos were beautiful, and also a wonderful fit for our venue. Thanks for being so helpful Richard, the music was just perfect!

Richard is a master at guitar and brought a great depth of beauty to my wedding day. Booking, requesting songs, and all other coordination was easy due to Richard's responsiveness and eagerness to help. The ceremony music was beautiful and perfect! He also played during my cocktail hour prior to the reception and I heard the most amazing complements about his performance. I hired Rich for our wedding ceremony. I was very impressed with how organized he was. He sent over a list of items he was bringing to the event and some documents explaining exactly what he needed from me (directions, song requests, etc). He responded to my questions very quickly. He sent me a confirmation the night before the event. I was getting dressed for the wedding when he got there, but he was very self sufficient and got himself setup and started playing. Many people came up after the ceremony to tell me how impressed they were with the music. Thanks so much, Rich!

Richard Barry performed at the cocktail hour and during the dinner at our wedding reception. His music was breathtaking and I received many, many compliments from all of our guests. Even our guests from Spain were extremely impressed by his guitar skills. He was professional and very kind to everyone. He was even nice enough to pose with us for a couple photos.

I found Richard Barry online through a web search for classical guitarists. We were looking for a classical guitarist to play our ceremony. We did all of our communicating via email, which was great and convenient. He has tons of music samples and photos online that definitely live up to his talent! It was incredibly easy to book and a great value...very affordable! It was a classic and elegant touch to our ceremony to have a live guitarist. Everyone loved it! Rich was great!!! Planning our wedding from out of state, we listened to a lot of samples online before contacting several potential musicians, and then meeting two candidates during a visit to Boston. We chose Rich and one other potential musician because they offered more non-traditional wedding ceremony selections (i.e. contemporary, non-religious) than others we found online.

We were stunned when we met Rich because we had assumed he was from Boston, but he actually flew to Boston from Baltimore just to meet with us for coffee to talk about the possibility of our hiring him. We appreciated his commitment. During that meeting he also took us through the ceremony and indicated when and where we might need music and offered guidance.

Rich was extremely willing and eager to learn new music that we requested (including “Gabriel’s Oboe” and “Linda’s Song”) along with other pieces that he offered on his website. While we were not in the auditorium to hear most of his pre-ceremony music, many of our guests complimented his performance.

He was sometimes slower to respond to e-mails than our other vendors, but never in a way that raised serious concerns or got in the way of our planning.

We hired Rich as a solo guitarist and we would highly recommend him and would consider hiring him for another event if the occasion arose.

Rich was excellent! Although I did not get to hear him play because of all the different emotions I had going on, my guest said he played beautifully. At the last minute we changed how the bridesmaids and groomsmen were going to walk down the aisle and I had completely forgot to tell Rich. He had no problem at all, he played it off perfectly! He is the definition of professional. My ceremony was outside in about 87 degrees with the sun shining right on us. He did not complain at all, just commented on how beautiful my wedding was. I also had requested songs that brides probably don't usually request, but he had no problem playing them. I highly recommend Rich!

Rich is an absolutely fantastic guitarist - we were excited about his skills after listening to his online samples, and when we discovered he was the least expensive guitarist we had contacted, we were even more excited! He was incredibly responsive, and always had many helpful suggestions as we waffled about music choices.

Rich arrived early for the ceremony to ensure things got started on time, and played beautifully for both our ceremony and cocktail hour. Several guests commented on how much they enjoyed hearing him play! There was a snafu during our recessional, as we had chosen a fairly difficult song for it only 2 weeks before the wedding. In retrospect I wish Rich had let us know it would be too much to learn, and had us choose a new song!

Overall it was a pleasure to work with Rich: he's very talented, and we highly recommend him!

Rich was a fantastic find on Wedding Wire. We had him and a violinist play at our ceremony and they did a great job with accompanying a Catholic mass, pulling out songs that were thousands of years old and juxtaposing them with more contemporary compositions. Rich is an extraordinarily talented guitarist, and we received so many compliments on how beautiful the music for the ceremony was. He seemed to have done tons and tons of weddings and such seeing how comfortable he was upon arrival. He just needed to know where to set up and that was about it. He plays the guitar at a very high level. I know a little something about good guitar players and bad ones, Richard Barry is definitely on of the good ones. He has a large repertoire songs that he can play, anything from the tango to popular music to classical guitar. Overall I would say that Richard is a very professional musician, shows up early so that there is know worrying and plays a guitar beautifully, I would suggest this guitarist to anyone having a wedding or any other kind of classy event that they are planning. Look no further, Richard Barry is your man.

Rich Barry played our ceremony music and at our cocktail hour. He played classical guitar and his colleague played violin. All the guests said it was fantastic - He is very talented and has a very diverse repertoir. He is great about taking special requests and learned Viva la Vida by Cold Play for playing at the end of the ceremony for us. I didn't have to really think about them during the ceremony or cocktail hour, they just were where they were supposed to be - In all the chaos of the day, that is one of the nicest things you can hope for. We booked Richard through a website and are glad we did! He did everything he promised to do at an affordable price and our friends and family loved him.
