We are so happy we booked Revelations Video for our wedding! We met Lindsey & Scott at an open house for a venue we didn't choose and we were so impressed by them that when it came time to book a videographer, we reached out. From start to finish, Lindsey was so friendly and easy to work with and was great at communicating. Tom from their team was our videographer at our wedding and he was so nice, encouraging, and got along well with my photographer. It was a pleasure having him there! We got our videos back in the timeframe they told us and they were stunning. The editing was great, everything looked beautiful, I cried haha. I can't recommend Revelations Video enough!! -

My husband and I cannot recommend Revelations Video more highly for the amazing work they did in creating our highlight video, and for editing and color correcting the footage for the chapters. We had a unique situation - we reached out to Revelation Video after our wedding - we had all the raw footage from the event, but no editor to do anything with it. We are so beyond thankful to now have edited wedding footage to love and enjoy, and to have been able to share it with our friends and loved ones! Because it was a COVID wedding, the majority of our family were not present on our wedding day, so being able to share with them the ceremony and highlights from the reception meant the world to us. Thank you for making this footage so special!! -

My husband and I are THRILLED with the final product. We can't stop watching the videos. Lindsay and Scott were super communicative from the start, professional, and answered all of my questions over the 2 years we've been in touch. Lindsay even recommended vendors, favor ideas and more, which was super helpful. Their work is flawless and really captured our relationship, and wedding vibe on film. We love their nature and candid approach, and the use of a drone over the property. Overall, I would highly recommend Revelations Video. -

Revelations Video was spectacular. I loved Scott and Lindsay. They worked exceptionally together and that really translated on video/photo. I got everything I could have wanted out of my photos and video including some really special quick moments I forgot about until later. When I had a wardrobe emergency and we were behind schedule they advised us on alternatives to our timeline and ensured we still got everything we wanted done including staying for a little longer. -

Lindsey and Scott perfectly documented our special day!! We were married in August of 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. With lots of changes, Lindsey was communicative and easy to work with from day one. Scott was seamless and unnoticed on our wedding day and they put together a beautiful highlight video capturing the most important bits of our day and speeches from our family members. Watching the video puts you right back in the moment of the day and we are so grateful to be able to share it with our friends and family members who could not be with us! They are incredible at what they do and we would recommend them in a heartbeat! -

Best experience ever
I found Revelations Video through watching example wedding videos on the knot. They were our absolute favorite vendor to work with for our wedding—we used them for both videography and photography. Lindsay and Scott make such an awesome team and are so down to earth. We felt completely comfortable with them from the first time we spoke on the phone. They went out of their way to make sure both the groom and bride felt special leading up to the big day with emails checking in on us and thoughtful gifts. They did a great job of getting our input, while also offering their expertise when we needed it. I was extremely happy with the “day of timeline” the team created for us, which helped me to line up the rest of the morning for our bridal party to make sure everyone knew the game plan for the day. I had never heard of the photographer or videographer creating a timeline for the bridal party, and it was SO helpful and appreciated. The app they used for communication and payment was also a great touch, making it easy to communicate with them throughout the planning process. Their work is incredible and we are so happy we got to work with them for our wedding! -

Absolutely loved working with both of them! They went above and beyond to make the whole process so special. They went above by meeting with us beforehand to grab ice cream and go over anything in particular that we wanted. They also made several gifts that were adorable and very much appreciated. The actual wedding day was so hectic but both Lindsay and Scott were so calm and worked with our photographer the entire time to catch everything! We just got our preview and LOVED it! -

I want to start this off by saying that both Scott and Lindsay are nice people. They are a local husband and wife business and offer fair pricing, which is why I chose them to capture these irreplaceable memories for my wedding. A coworker of mine also used them for their wedding and had only 1 small issue with their final product - which was quickly resolved within ~2 days so I thought they were OK to book. Booking them was relatively easy; I had a phone call with Lindsay regarding the package options and to answer any of my questions.
Fast forward to the pre-wedding planning call. I booked a day and time on their website as I was instructed to via email. On the day of the meeting (which was through Zoom), I waited >10 minutes with no response so I emailed asking if the meeting was still on. I received an email response apologizing, stating that there were “unexpected changes in our childcare situation”. OK, we gave them the benefit of the doubt due to their extenuating circumstances. We had Scott as our videographer the day of the wedding (October 14, 2023) and he was very friendly, fine to work with, no issues there.
In the contract, it states that completed work is normally within 16 weeks of the event but also states that due to time of year/etc. that they are not required to complete within 16 weeks which is understandable. However, between the end of the event and up until the 14-15 week mark, I did not receive any correspondence on the progress of the video editing or any updates. I emailed twice between the 14 and 15 week mark asking for an update, which took 1.5 weeks for a response. In the email response, they stated their children were sick and that they needed to take a step back from the studio and were “catching up on emails”. I understand their predicament, however, it would be much appreciated and more professional to receive an email updating me on their timeline or their delays, however, no such email was sent.
Abbreviated Timeline: The wedding was on October 14, I received the “final” product 17 weeks out on Feb 13, requested edits which I received 3 weeks out on March 6, I requested 10 additional edits March 6th and I FINALLY received on June 4, 13 weeks later. So if you want to wait 33 weeks to receive your true final product then you have been forewarned. But please continue reading this review because it gets even better (sarcasm).
Now, moving on to the actual videos; I added a social media teaser video for $50, requesting it be 15 seconds in length so I can add my own music. On February 13th I received a 4+ minute highlight video, a 25 second teaser (requested 15 seconds), and two bonus chapters (a “gift” for paying my full balance early). In the email containing the link to the videos, it states that you can download them by clicking on the cloud icon at the top right of the screen. That icon was not present and I was unable to download my videos (through Mediazilla). I immediately responded to their email stating my issues and it turns out they forgot to enable that feature…I also inquired about the raw footage I was supposed to receive on a hard drive (as per the contact), in addition to changing the 25 second video back to the 15 seconds I originally asked for. It took multiple email threads of me asking for an update on the raw footage as all of their responses never included a response to that specific question. They said they thought they responded to it when they finally answered me. I had even offered to pick it up at their studio instead of mail it to make it more convenient for them.
Regarding the quality of the highlight videos and what seems to be the unedited bonus chapters, I would say they are novice and subpar at best. There are multiple instances where they could have edited out scenes such as:
- Hearing the photographer’s voice in the background directing poses
- Seeing the photographer in the videos with their camera and gear (they should choose a different angle or scene)
- Included a scene where the groom was putting on a sock (you could see bare feet) - some may argue that is a creative difference, but I don’t want to see feet in my wedding video.
- The highlight video also had so many flashes from the photographer’s camera that the video should have had a trigger warning for flashing/strobe lights! (They should have just asked the photographer to hold off for a few seconds to get the shot without the flashes if needed) Also side note - they said they couldn’t edit out the flashes - I think it may be too skilled for them to do - see this video on how to cut the flashes out it frame by frame: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAOWPVprUxY
- in the background of the videos you could see the backpacks of the videographer/photographer etc. - maybe if it was noticed to remove them before shooting or shoot at an angle they wouldn’t be seen
All in all, I would say there was extremely poor oversight and carelessness to the initial editing of the videos I received. (I still have them downloaded if anyone wants to see them). The visual and sound quality is also slightly grainy.
After initially receiving the videos and being so unhappy with the quality of the videos, I requested video edits (about 25) which she said cost $250 and that editing would begin when the was paid… I did not get an invoice until 10 days after sending the requests and I paid it the day I received it. All of my edit requests were time stamped and very specific. I even included time stamps from the raw footage (which I did receive via mail on March 1st) for clips that could be used as replacements to make things easier and quicker. Those edits were delivered on March 5th. Lindsay said that thanks to my detail oriented requests, she was able to complete the edits more quickly than anticipated.
Upon seeing the edited video, there were 10 additional requests that I emailed back that same day and stated if additional payment was needed that it would be OK. I did not receive a response to my final edit list until I sent a follow up email 2 weeks later on March 20th. They responded back that same day with an apology as “they had other deadlines they needed to meet this week” and would “be able to complete the additional edits after they were caught up” and had “limited time for email”.
It was at this point I felt they did not care about fixing my highlight video as they had more important deadlines to meet. I was later told that each time I asked for an edit, it “put me back in the queue behind other couples”.... A very strange business practice in my opinion as my “final video” was still not completed from my POV.
Now, in all this time, I went on a 3 week honeymoon to Japan, had professional photos taken there (and got them back within 3 weeks), the company had sent a mass email on April 29 (wow maybe they learned something) that their server was down and needed a professional to fix it. The server ended up needing to be replaced and they received the new server the day they sent the email (4/29). I responded the next day but received no response until I sent a follow up email May 13th… another 2 weeks. After finally receiving the additional edits on June 4 ( a whole 3 months later!) I thanked them and explained how frustrated I was due to their poor communication and detailing how I’ve spent a lot of money (almost 3k) for these services and felt that I was not treated properly as a paying customer. If I owned my business and a customer was unhappy with the results I would do everything I could to fix the problem at hand in a timely manner and communicate/provide updates WITHOUT having to be asked.
I do want to add - the first time I asked for edits we discussed a price and she sent me an invoice beforehand before beginning the edits. After asking for the second round and completing them, she sent me an invoice but we had never discussed a need for an additional payment. I think that is unprofessional, sneaky, and deceitful. I responded to the email (quoted below) regarding my dissatisfaction with her unprofessionalism and requested a refund. She waived the second edit fee and apologized for not meeting expectations.
Response: “We will waive the $50 editing fee but we will not be refunding any amount of your balance. We cannot control the intrusiveness of your guests with phones, photographer’s interference, or other preferences that were not discussed prior. You will see that outlined very clearly in your contract. We completed your video as outlined in your contract and then we had other clients to deliver products to as well. I apologize for not answering your emails as timely as you would have preferred and I apologize that your expectations were not met.”
She again responded with excuses. I didn’t realize I would have had to ask the videos to be edited without hearing the photographer's voice in the background or seeing the photographer equipment- I understand they obviously cannot control intrusiveness of guests or the other vendors but when editing videos, it would logically make sense to maybe not include those in the final product and use a different scene or crop it so they are not in but those are just my thoughts. I will admit a lot of the edit requests were a personal preference, and I paid the amount due - and as I expected, those personal edit requests were a very easy fix and should have been done without having to be asked anyway if they had a better eye for editing and attention to detail.
In the end, I am somewhat satisfied with the final video product however in order to achieve this satisfaction it was an extremely long, frustrating, and drawn out process due to their poor time management, unprofessionalism, zero sense of urgency, and lack of timely communication.
I have posted this review because, despite being happy with the end result, I have given them multiple opportunities and more than enough grace and time to address my problems but due to their utter disregard for timeliness and poor excuses I feel other people should be aware of my personal experience with this company. I apologize for the lengthiness but I wanted this review to be as fair and transparent as possible and that you should have all of the facts. I don’t know if I just didn’t ask the right questions during the initial calls or did enough research on the videographers, but do yourself a favor and think twice.
P.S: I ended up having to pay extra for drone coverage (you normally don’t pay extra) as my venue was in a state park that required a special license but sadly it rained the day of my wedding. My wonderful photographer and venue offered to do a re-shoot and let us come back to the venue free of charge! Scott had mentioned he MAY be able to swing by the venue to get drone footage, but that never happened either. When the photographer was attempting to coordinate with the venue and videographer on October 18 for a Nov 13th re-shoot date, they had responded a week later saying there was a misunderstanding and they couldn't commit to the re-shoot etc… Needless to say, I had other absolutely amazing vendors who went above and beyond for us and I just can’t say the same for Revelations Video and Photo.
Fun Fact - My friend actually tried to hire this company (without my knowledge as I would have advised against it) for their wedding and set up a call, however, when the day/time came, they did not call and had to reschedule. They took too long to respond to her emails to set up a new time so she ended up choosing another videographer due to their poor communication and I wish I did the same.
