Rev. Kathy Jennings is the absolute best! She was able to assist us from beginning to end. We advised our guests we had found the perfect Officiant, and after the ceremony they were in unanimous agreement that we had chosen the best. The ceremony was fantastic, it was exactly what we wanted. We highly recommend her to those looking to create a memorable event for themselves or others you may know that are planning an event.

Rev Kathy is one word AMAZING! We eloped on top of a mountain with 30 mph winds and she stuck it out with us! She was responsive and helpful throughout our process. We loved how beautiful and intimate our ceremony was!

Kathy was truly a pleasure to work with. She quickly responded to our initial inquiry. Once we secured her services to be our wedding officiant, she sent us a multitude of sample weddings for us to pick and choose from to customize our ceremony. We met with Kathy at her home the night before the ceremony, where she spent the time necessary with us to make sure that we were comfortable with the wording and how exactly we wanted the ceremony to go. To top it off, she brought a friend with her on our wedding day to act as one of our witnesses. Her manner and cadence in officiating our elopement ceremony put us both at ease to make the ceremony successful. If you plan to hold a wedding in Asheville, do yourself a favor and hire Kathy to officiate.

Kathy was a great Officiant for wedding! We loved her flexibility for the ceremony and felt that we could truly create a non-denominational and multicultural wedding to be exactly what we wanted. Everything went smoothly and she was very helpful with getting the marriage license turned in to the Register of Deeds. Katrina and I were married by Rev. Kathy and feel so lucky to have chosen her to be our officiant. For those nervous couples looking for a wonderful person to help tie the knot, we strongly recommend going with Kathy. From the first contact, Kathy was extremely responsive and quick to communicate by phone and by email. She was professional and clear regarding contract and $, and there were no moments of confusion and weirdness. I say this because in trying to find the right caterer and band, we spent many hours of frustration due to bad communication or non-responsiveness, so knowing that the Rev. was so solid from day 1 was extremely calming.
We wanted to write our own ceremony, and Kathy helped us immensely by sending numerous emails and attachments with examples from previous ceremonies. She would read through our drafts and offer suggestions. We Skyped with her and spoke on the phone, since we don't live in NC. She also made time for us before the day to meet and go over the whole ceremony in detail including a run through, which helped to assure the whole thing was practiced and smooth.
Kathy is an interfaith minister, and this was extremely important to us - we're not religious but have certain spiritual and cultural tenets that she helped us to weave into the design of the ceremony and vows. Many people remarked at the wedding at how it all seemed to reflect us so perfectly - wouldn't have been possible without Kathy's accommodation and experienced guidance in this area.
When you're up there getting married in front of all your family and friends, with so many emotions and feelings running high, you really need to feel a strong and loving presence from your officiant, to know that your space is being 'held'. Couldn't imagine anyone doing this with more calm, professional, loving assurance than Rev. Kathy.

Kathy was amazing. Very down to earth and helpful with planning how we wanted our ceremony to go. She provided us with great ideas and different ways to get what we wanted to say started. We are a very low key couple and didn't want anything over the top. Our ceremony was quick, sweet and deep all at the same time. Kathy is absolutely wonderful! She made the whole ceremony go smoothly, everyone commented about how impressed they were with how professional and fun she was. My parents came up for the pre-wedding meeting with her and my Dad mentioned how grateful he was to have been able to attend that with us, because she is so detailed in helping prepare for the ceremony. She was extremely flexible in helping us pick our ceremony words and flow. She even drove 45 minutes to our venue, which was a new place for her!

Kathy was amazing!
We planned our wedding in the span of a month and a half, and she was quick to respond to us and help us work through our ceremony until it was the one we wanted. We didn't want a "religious" ceremony, and she was very accommodating, having experience officiating all types of weddings. She was extremely personable, as she was the only officiant we talked with who requested to Skype and/or meet with us prior to our event. She really made us feel like she cared that our ceremony was what we wanted. We didn't really know how to arrange the proceedings or how it should flow, and Kathy had many options for us to form an outline and then mold it to what we wanted. During the ceremony she was calm, well-paced, and well-spoken while keeping it light and evoking a celebratory mood. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to tie the knot!

Kathy was a wonderful officiant to work with. My husband and I are not religious, and wanted to find an officiant who would help us create a ceremony with personal meaning. Throughout the entire process, Kathy provided us with support and guidance, helping us craft the perfect wedding ceremony that we'll never forget. During our wedding planning, we were also moving across country (from MA to CA, while getting married in NC!) and Kathy was very flexible and responsive to our ever changing schedules. We were able to meet in person prior to the ceremony, and the day of, everything went just as planned. Even with rainy day traffic, Kathy was on time and everything went off with a hitch (pun intended)!

Rev. Kathy was the perfect addition to our intimate ceremony. Kathy performed our elopement ceremony on 9/26/14 and we couldn't have made a better decision than going with her as our Officiant. Kathy was wonderful throughout the entire process of constructing and performing our ceremony. From the very beginning, she was extremely warm and eager to help us perfect our ceremony. Kathy was great to work with. We chose her because of her flexibility and willingness to blend traditional and non-traditional elements. She helped us plan a ceremony that allowed our personalities to shine through, while still providing guidance about structure, timing, and rhythm. She met with us multiple times before the big day to go over what we wanted as well as practice the ceremony. We cannot say enough about Reverend Kathy! We do not live in the Asheville area so we found Reverend Kathy online and selected her based on all of her positive reviews - and we are SO glad we did. She is extremely responsive and professional; and she provided a TON of ceremony examples, suggestions, tips, etc. which really helped us construct our personalized ceremony. At the same time, Reverend Kathy is also very laid back and emanates this incredibly warm and positive vibe -- ideal for our small elopement ceremony in the mountains. I cannot say enough good things about Kathy. My husband and I had a very small wedding with immediate family only. Kathy was very attentive to my husband and my requests and had excellent suggestions on how to make our ceremony unique and special for us. Kathy was amazing to work with to plan a wedding. We were no easy feat with my being in Boston, MA and James being in Rockingham, NC to be married in Asheville, NC. She easily facilitated our creating a ceremony that was authentic. She was open and flexible to using Google Hangout to discuss the ceremony from a distance and to include new ideas about how we wanted to incorporate our kids. When we were at a loss, she came to the rescue with lots of wonderful ideas about how to pull our ideas together. If we were to get married again tomorrow, I would definitely choose to work with Kathy all over again!

Reverend Kathy helped make our wedding special by being flexible (we asked her to hike a half mile to Triple Falls) and responsive to our wishes. She guided us and provided us examples of a ceremony which we then modeled with readings and our own vows. She recommended a photographer (Meghan Rolfe) and also had her husband be a witness to the ceremony. Even with the threat of rain, all were willing to still make the journey. It turned out to be a beautiful day and weekend. Doing the ceremony down by the falls made it a special event.

Our wedding had to be planned in 3 weeks due of unforeseen schedule changes. I found Kathy on Wedding Wire - she had such high reviews so I was sure that she would not be available. I was wrong - Kathy contacted me almost immediately and began helping me brainstorm different ideas. After my first conversation with her, I felt at ease. Kathy was a huge blessing! We were planning a small destination wedding in Maggie Valley with plans to have a family friend officiate the ceremony, two weeks before our date we learned our friend was unable to do so. Needless to say with the late date and the fact that we were 8 hours away from our destination - we panicked. My husband immediately searched and found Kathy online then sent a plea for help - she responded quickly and set up a time for us to chat by phone the same day. That conversation immediately put us both at ease and we knew she'd be a perfect fit for the type of ceremony we wanted. She helped us cultivate the perfect ceremony - taking the ideas we had then adding her own expertise. It turned out to be even more beautiful than we could have imagined. We were able to meet her in her home office before our big day to do a read through and get comfortable. She was fabulous on our wedding day - arriving early and excited to be a part of our special moment. Our family and friends raved about the ceremony, so many people have said it was the most beautiful and special wedding they had ever been to. I may be biased, but I agree. Kathy really set the tone for our entire day, I am so glad that fate stepped in and allowed us to meet! We are forever thankful!

Reverend Kathy is amazing! My husband and I used her as our wedding officiant and also attended marriage counseling with her prior to the ceremony.

She is flexible, prompt, and very professional. We came to her knowing that we wanted to create a ceremony that would be a little bit different than your average wedding ceremony. She provided us samples and plenty of advice on how to piece together a ceremony that would capture our love, personality, and needs.

The marriage counseling we attended with Kathy was extremely helpful and really allowed my husband and I to get to know each other on an even more intimate level. We had been together for 5 years before we married and during the sessions with Kathy, we learned something new about each other.

Kathy was so wonderful to work with! She has so much experience and so many examples that really helped us create a structure for our service and vows (since we had NO idea where to start!). I couldn't have been happier with Rev. Kathy! She was extremely helpful from the first phone call through the day-of. We live in Colorado and had to plan the wedding remotely; she sent us tons of info on ceremonies via email and helped us think through all of the details that were needed. We met face-to-face two days before the wedding when she invited the two of us to her home to rehearse. Our ceremony had many complicated parts, with props for tree unity ceremony and wishing rocks, but Kathy knew just what to do and helped to make it a smooth process. She was easy-going, but extremely professional and took care of so many things that it made the wedding day relaxing and fun for us.

Rev. Kathy was the perfect choice for our wedding. We planned a destination wedding from three states away. Rev. Kathy made time to interview with us via Skype, and her open-heartedness and organization appealed to us instantly. After making the easy choice to request her services, Rev. Kathy offered a myriad of selections to create a service unique to us and the marriage that would blend our two families. Rev. Kathy made time to meet with us the day before the wedding to walk through ceremony details. We were so relaxed when working with her. Rev. Kathy did a fabulous job at our wedding ceremony. She was very easy to meet with and had excellent communication throughout the entire process, she explained everything and answered all our questions quickly. She had great ideas for customizing our ceremony to fit us as a couple, we included some really beautiful and unique elements like the 'Hand Ceremony', everyone loved our ceremony! A few hours before the ceremony, we had to change sites due to rain and we couldn't decide where to have it- Kathy stepped up and took charge and helped us choose the best location and it ended up being even better than the original site. Overall, she is a wonderful minister who gave us a beautiful and memorable ceremony, extremely professional and down to earth, a wealth of knowledge, and the perfect person to have around when things are not going as planned. I'm so glad we found her and we will definitely recommend her to everyone!

Rev. Jennings made my partner and my ceremony perfect. As we went to DC and were legally married two days before since NC doesn't have Equality Rights. So Rev. Jennings did more of a commitment ceremony since that's all that is legally allowed. The ceremony she put together was beautiful and our friends and family are still talking about it.. I would highly recommend Rev. Jennings to anyone especially same sex couples!!

Kathy was a blessing for us to find. She made us feel comfortable and relaxed from the beginning. After my initial conversation with her I knew she was perfect for us. Kathy Jennings is a wonderful, and great hearted person. She was very helpful and attentive to make our wedding the most special day of our life. She is very creative and open minded, my husband and i had a very quaint and simple ceremony that we planned in about a week. Our ceremony was a country themed wedding, and i rode up on horse back and had my father help me off the horse to give me away. We had everyone facing the mountain range which was one of the most beautiful places that anyone could have their special day. We have a son and we wanted to do something to involve him to but we weren't exactly sure what,then Kathy suggested that we have a sand ceremony, which was absolutely perfect. We couldn't have done it so perfectly with out Kathy's experience and her very wise mind. I was absolutely satisfied with all of her help and service. Derek and I cannot say enough wonderful words about Rev. Kathy Jennings. She helped to make our ceremony more beautiful and special than we could have hoped. Most of our guests have told us it was the most beautiful ceremony they have ever seen, and of course, we couldn’t agree more. From the moment we made contact, she was sincere, professional, and supportive. Writing our own service was a daunting task, but Rev. Kathy listened to our needs and guided us throughout the process with fantastic results. Our ceremony was unique while maintaining the traditions we value, and perfectly reflected our love for one another. When it came time to perform the ceremony, Rev. Kathy was a calming, positive presence on such a momentous day.

Additionally, we were so happy we took her up on the offer of a pre-marital counseling session. It was a wonderful opportunity for my fiancé and I to reflect on our relationship during the whirlwind of wedding planning. We learned things about ourselves and each other that will help us grow together and strengthen our bond throughout our life together.

Kathy was the first step in our elopement process. Prior to chatting with her on the phone both my husband and I were feeling very targetted by wedding vendors and up to that point frustrated since we just wanted a simple and no fuss ceremony. Kathy brought us to a great place of calm and after confirming her as our officiant everything fell into place. Kathys focus is not just on the ceremony but also on what is much more important- the marrige itself. Her "writing your marriage vision" exercise was very helpful in guiding us in writing our vows. Most couples don't have the opportunity to work with Kathy twice in 6 months! Chad and I couldn't wait for our October 2011 wedding in the mountains and save the dates had been sent out. Unfortunately, we then had an illness in the family and decided to move the ceremony up several months. We were so fortunate to find Kathy, who helped us with every step to create an intimate ceremony that really reflected the two of us. Despite having to plan everything so quickly, Kathy really made the effort to get to know us ahead of time. She was so friendly, an incredible speaker, extremely professional and made us feel at ease. Our wedding couldn't have been more perfect!

Our reception was still planned for October, but having kept our ceremony private, we decided to repeat the ceremony for family, friends and attendants. We were disappointed initially to discover that Kathy was already booked that date/time. She was so wonderful the first go-around, that we ended up changing the time of our wedding so that she could officiate! She helped us tweak the ceremony, offered helpful advice and even made several 'dry runs' to find the quickest route from the first ceremony to ours. Kathy provided us with excellent service as our wedding officiant! We wanted someone who would preform a non-religious ceremony and who offered pre-marital counseling services. We went through the Prepare/Enrich program with Kathy and felt that it gave us a good connection to her, so it didn't feel that a stranger was performing our ceremony. She gave us many examples of others' wedding ceremonies and from that we pieced together a beautiful and meaningful ceremony that was perfect for us! Rev Kathy was excellent during our wedding planning and ceremony! She provided me with a variety of sample ceremonies and ideas for personalizing our ceremony, and worked with us to help the different aspects of our ceremony to flow. My husband had been relocated to a different state 2 months prior to our wedding, and Kathy was able to meet with me in person and Skype my husband in to discuss our ceremony prior to the wedding! She was well organized and helped get the logistics figured out at the rehearsal so there was no stress come wedding day!

Kathy was a pleasure to work with. My husband contacted her via email and they had a delightful phone conversation. I later skyped with Kathy as we worked our the final details. She provided us with many samples to chose from and when nothing fit quite right she allowed us to customize our ceremony to fit our situation/wants/needs. She arrived early to both the rehearsal, and day-of. Kathy was well-spoken, friendly, understanding, and very open and accomodating to all our suggestions/changes.

Kathy was able to help us create a beautiful ceremony that was meaningful to us and memorable to our guests. We have received many compliments on our ceremony! She shared many examples of vows, blessings, and readings to inspire us and build upon- we were free to change wordings and the order around so it fit our vision. Kathy brought a lot of fun energy to the table during the planning process and took time to get to know us! She even visited our venue beforehand to get a feel for the ceremony space. Kathy kept us on schedule and organized in the planning process so we felt prepared for our big day. Thank you Kathy!

We chose Kathy as our Officiant as we felt most comfortable speaking with her on the phone compared with other vendors. She was very down to earth yet professional. She was very accommodating with providing us with examples and open to us creating our own ceremony. She was also helpful in discussing with us ways of preparing ourselves for our ceremony as it was very emotional for us both. We would rate her higher overall if it wasn't for a few key things that we had discussed and wanted incorporated. These being: which side each of us were standing on (she switched us after walking down in front of everyone which resulted in the sun beaming at the bride instead of behind which was discussed with her and photographers) and she also changed who we appointed (and gave the privilege) to hold our vow box without asking us and in front of all of our guests. These were key factors for us which is why we rated her lower. She was very professional otherwise and does a great job at helping relieve "butterflies/jitters" and keeping everything on track/time.

We found Reverend Kathy looking for a non-denominational officiant for our wedding near Asheville, and were impressed with her professionalism and responsiveness - it was a great relief to be able to reach her, discuss our needs, and be done.

Because we were out of town, Reverend Kathy worked with us over Skype and email to arrange our ceremony, and sent us several examples to pull ideas and information from. The entire process was relatively stress free, and left us with a meaningful ceremony that tied together the wedding nicely. She was very respectful of what our desires for a ceremony were, and didn't impose her own views or beliefs on what it "should be", and we were able to discuss ahead of time exactly what she was going to say to make sure it reflected our vision.
