Rev. Jim Lytle is a true professional. After a terrible experience with another pastor, meeting Jim was a breath of fresh air. He was caring and listened to our wants and needs. We had a few special circumstances that were frowned upon by the previous pastor, but Jim was more than understanding and accommodating. All of our guests commented on how great our service was and how personal Jim is. Jim is truly the best and I couldn't give him a higher recommendation.

Jim Lyttle was an outstanding officiant for my daughter's wedding. He made everyone feel comfortable from the first meeting and throughout the ceremony! He spoke as if he had known our children for their entire lives and made them feel very special. I would highly recommend Jim!

Jim is the best! Planning a wedding in NC from Wasington DC was a little stressful but my husband and I were able to FaceTime with him and met a few days before the wedding to get to know one another. He took time before the ceremony to ask my husband, myself, and our bridal party questions about us to make the ceremony more personable, and it worked! Highly recommend Rev Jim!

We absolutely loved Rev Jim! If you didn't know or if he looks very familiar, he subs for the local weather man in Charlotte. He's got a great, enthusiastic personality with some quirkiness and it really fit so well with our wedding day. He took us through the entire ceremony step by step and made it customized to our relationship, we even added a Korean element. He even tried to learn Korean to use in the ceremony which he did a great job pronouncing and saying the words. He even came to our rehearsal dinner to get to know us better through stories from our friends and family. You can tell he has years of experience as he shared a lot of great insight and advice for us. He even knew when to pop out of the way for pictures like the kiss the bride. He treated our wedding like he knew us for years and spent time to get to know us.

Rev. Jim was helpful, fun, made the wedding so much less stressful and did a great job with the diversity of our wedding (Jewish groom, Baptist bride). He understood our wishes for the ceremony and was terrific. We actually met Jim at the wedding of a friend and were so impressed with how he conducted the service, we knew he was the man for the job, so to speak. :)

Jim officiated at my son's wedding last year as well and that is when I knew I wanted him to be at my wedding as well. He relates to all ages and personalities and his kindness, sincerity and beautifully delivered prayers and blessings make the day not only special but meaningful to all in attendance. He is a perfect instrument from God above to mark such a glorious day.

Jim was amazing! We loved working with him and he was flexible and answered all of our questions. He made our wedding ceremony special and I am so glad that we decided to have him be our officiant. Rev. Lytle was perfect for our 3/13/16 wedding. Jim offered a beautiful ceremony that was so moving. We are still getting compliments on how great the ceremony was. My nerves were getting to me on the day of, and Jim helped to put me at ease. My new husband and I live in Nashville, TN and go to church here. We didn't feel comfortable asking our pastor to travel. Rev. Jim stepped in and honestly it felt like we were old friends right away and he knew exactly what we wanted and needed.

WE love Rev. Jim Lytle! He met with us on several occasions and helped plan out our whole ceremony. We were able to add some ideas of our own but he made it very special for us!!! Jim is great!

The venue we got married at used him as a 'preferred' officiant, and we could not agree more. His zest for life shine through in his personality and in the way he communicates.

My fiance and I met with him prior to our wedding day to discuss how we would like the ceremony to go, and it was like sitting down with an old friend - not awkward at all. Jim is so personable and a joy to be around, and he made the whole process a breeze. Not to mention, he has a great sense of humor.

He made our wedding ceremony. He catered it to how we envisioned it, and put his on little spin on it. We had so many compliments on his delivery, and how great he was....you really can't ask for anything more. I would highly recommend Jim to anyone, as he really does care for the people he interacts with, and that is so important on a monumental day like your wedding.

We love reverend Jim! I have been to several weddings that he has officiated for friends and he is so thoughtful and sincere. You can really tell that he has taken the time to get to know the couples that he works with. We can't wait for him to officiate our wedding this November!

Let me start out by saying Jim really took the time to get to know Greg and I. During the wedding planning process, he met with us twice for an extended period of time to go over the details of the ceremony and bounce ideas off of one another. Jim was at our rehearsal and lead the whole evening perfectly-we were really nervous and Jim calmed our nerves. He also came to the rehearsal dinner where he took the time to get to know our families and was such a great addition to the evening. Fast forward to the ceremony and he was flawless. Jim gave the most beautiful and personal speech and it was evident that he has a lot of experience. He lead the whole bridal party with suttle, non-verbal cues. Thank you, Jim!!!

Jim was amazing from the first moment we met at a bridal show. He embrassed us and hugged us as if we had known him for years! We wanted an officiant that was Christian and someone that would do pre- marital counseling with us. Jim was that guy. Wonderful, honest, kind, patient, funny and sweet, we both enjoyed everytime we met, every email we received, every text message and every caring hug received. Jim was great. He never stopped smiling, which was awesome because it made the mood of the wedding preporation and the mood of our big day so wonderful and happy and positive! Every guests we spoke to, even non believers, said what an amazing service that was and they had never attended a wedding so special with an officiant so great. He put his personal suggestions and unique touches on every step of the way, getting to know us as a couple more and more each time we met. This made our day completely different and special to us both, and our families and friends that attended. We would love to be able to keep in touch with Jim, seeing as he was such a big part of our day. THANK YOU for everything, and if you are even thinking about using Jim, you should!

Rev. Jim did a great job helping to make our ceremony all about us. He personalized our wedding to match us and help us to make it special. We also used him for premarital counseling and that was great getting to know him. He helped us learn a lot about each other and things that we didn't know before.

We contacted Jim after seeing him officiate a wedding for our good friends last year. He met with us and was wonderfully warm and sincere with a genuine interest in our backgrounds. Unfortunately, he was unavailable for our date, but he recommended a fellow pastor who he thought would be perfect for our event. Fortunately for us, Heath Krueger, was available and we loved him! He made our ceremony so special and personal to us; so many people commented how wonderful it was!

We could not have dreamed of a better wedding ceremony. Rev. Jim Lytle was amazing and all night everyone kept telling us how it was the most beautiful ceremony they ever witnessed and how Rev. WE LOVE YOU PASTOR JIM!!! What an amazing man of God to work with. Not too overbearing with religion but a perfect, simple and beautiful balance. Pastor Jim was fantastic for our ceremony and our guests just loved him! The most amazing thing about him was that he would call just to check in on me (the bride) to make sure I was okay and to let me know he was praying for me (even prayed for me right before the wedding) and with my groom during the ceremony. That speaks volumes about him as a man especially one in ministry. He was fun, caring, professional and even a little funny here and there. ;D

Without Rev. Jim our ceremony would had not been so special. He is so sincere, likable, professional, and inspiring. He was a true pleasure to work with. Jim was great! In the short time we spent with him preparing for our wedding, he was very interested in getting to know us and the "feel" we wanted for our ceremony. He guided towards creating a beautiful ceremony that was meaningful for us as well as our friends a family. When we first met Rev. Lytle we knew we were going to be in great hands. He is very passionate about what he does and is just a super positive man to talk with. Rev. Lytle was not available to do our ceremony in June, but he dug into his rolodex and did he deliver! He introduced us to Brian Goins. We can not say enough positive things about Brian. The contestant since our wedding has been compliments about Brian. He took the importance of marriage, mixed in a little Ashley and Geoff and delivered a ceremony that will never be forgotten, by anyone. We are truly grateful to Rev. Lytle for his recommendation.

We met Reverend Jim Lytle after discussing potential wedding officiants with our wedding planner. We felt an incredible bond with him at our first meeting, and we knew that he would be perfect to perform the ceremony on our big day. We met and spoke over the phone with him a few times before our wedding, and we got to know him very well. Like us, he felt that it was important to get to know us more intimately as a couple before our wedding. Rev. Jim worked with us to pick out the main elements of our ceremony and also went the extra distance by proposing some additional ideas to complement our ceremony. Although the weather (windy) and location (on a golf course) tried to put hiccups in our ceremony, Reverend Jim kept things moving smoothly and did not let those hurdles get in the way.

We knew Pastor Jim was the one we wanted to officiate our wedding probably from the first email exchanges we had with him but when we met him, it sealed the deal! He is one of the nicest most Godly men you will ever meet. He made our ceremony so incredibly sweet and uniquely us. I will be forever grateful to him and hope he remains a part of our lives.

Benjamin and I had the pleasure of coming across Pastor Jim on-line to preside over our destination wedding. Jim worked with us from start to finish via Skype and helped put together a personalized ceremony that blended our modern and traditional beliefs. Jim was the highlight of our wedding as many guests commented and raved about his service. We could not have asked for a better officiant who made us feel special and unique. We were blessed to have Jim strengthen our commitment to each other and God. Rev. Lytle was our wedding officiant on 6/9/12 in New London, NC. Prior to the wedding, he was extremely understanding of our crazy schedules, and was able to work with us to get things figured out. He really took the time to get to know my husband and I, and it made the ceremony that much more special. The ceremony itself was completely catered to our preferences, and Rev. Lytle was so genuine and eloquent. The marriage license was sent off right away, and of course, everything was done correctly. I feel that Rev. Lytle truly cares about each couple, and I am very confident that our marriage will be successful and full of love and guidance from God. Thank you Rev. He was there for the rehearsal, was available any time we wanted to meet to go over things, and submitted all of our paperwork for our marriage certficate in a very timely manner. He even stayed after the ceremony to chat with our families and guests at the cocktail hour. We received a lot of compliments on him and are thrilled with our choice to have him conduct our ceremony. Would recommend him to any other couple!

Jim was wonderful. He tailored a service to us and made it personal and meaningful. We also had the pleasure of having his wife Betsy play the flute during our ceremony. She made the recommendations on the songs and the music added such a nice touch to our day. I highly recommend them both. I can not say enough nice things about Rev. Jim. From his pre-marriage work, to his delivery during the ceremony, it was all truly exceptional. So many people have said to me "your ceremony was so amazing" and multiple people have mentioned to me "the tears in the mens eyes" while Jim was speaking. Jim truly connected with me, my husband and the crowd. We loved everything about working with Jim. You won't be disappointed!

We actually had a different officiant up until about a month until our wedding. He had some health issues and could no longer perform our ceremony. Luckily, our venue put us in touch with Rev. Lytle who hit the ground running.We had actually met with Rev. Lytle probably six months before and decided on using our venue's "house officiant" instead. But as fat would have it, we ended up together anyways. Rev. Lytle was a great help with taking us on in such short notice, though it definitely helped that we had met before. He is very friendly and confident when speaking in front of a crowd. His job is weddings, and he does his job well. My family really enjoyed meeting him, and I couldn't have asked for someone better.

Compared love to getting pulled over, and threw off our entire wedding

Jim was super nice but unfortunately did not meet our expectations for our wedding day. Granted, our officiant had to cancel 2 days before as he got the flu, but we already had a script ready to go for Jim to print and read from. He showed up an hour before our wedding to the venue and as I show up about ready to walk down the aisle, he discusses the deceased family members (my husbands mother, father, paternal grandmother and maternal grandfather) and who each person is. I walk down the aisle, and Jim starts discussing how "marriage is like a speeding ticket" which was so embarrassing. He then mispronounced my name as Alyssa and my husband said "I take ALYSHA". He also misquoted and said his paternal grandmother, who is deceased, was actually his maternal grandmother (which is his only living grandparent). I was very unimpressed overall and if I knew how bad his reviews were I would have just had a friend get ordained. He also did not read either of our scriptures that we chose that meant a lot to us.

I hope you don't experience the same thing we received...

the wedding was all planned out for 6PM (KEY NOTE...START TIME)

Come time for the wedding to start Jim was ready but it was raining so we looked at the forecast and said we will just wait it out as it wouldn't be more than 30-40 min before it passes by; it was very clear that the weather would pass by.

Jim being an ex. weather man came up with all kinds of conclusions "these clouds will not pass by, we need to get started soon or start moving under the shed and to top it off he went to each grooms and brides quarter and told each of us that the other side said they want go ahead and start by moving it under the shed that they didn't care if it was outside or not which was a big LIE...he almost got slapped by my step mother & aunt for this..." He tried to pressure and put words into other peoples mouths that were never spoken "He said...she said" and tried to get both sides to start ASAP that the rain would never pass.."Maybe this is why he is no longer the weather man...." Come 30-40 minutes later after everyone got tired of hearing Jim try to pressure each side into not having it outside the rain finally stopped and we had a beautiful wedding.

All in all Jim forgot that he was paid a couple hundred where as the wedding was 5K and he was worried about getting in and out more than being professional, polite and courteous. My family was very disgraced with his behavior so that is why I wrote this review. I hope no one has to experience this as we did on our special day.

Very Late- Unprofessional

Glad to see there haven't been reviews for 5 years. Its been 5 years since we got married and I still think about how horrible this guy was.

Awful Experience

We had an awful experience with this guy. He was recommended by our wedding venue. We met with him 3 times. The second time at a coffee shop he texted me that he was running late and asked me to buy him a latte which I thought was odd, but thought he would pay me back, which he didn’t. (First red flag) regardless, we continued with our plans with him. He then invited himself to the wedding reception dinner which I was shocked! Because I was not the one paying for it. I told him that. (Second red flag) For our rehearsal dinner at the venue he didn’t show up. We called him after 30 min had gone by and he said he forgot, made other plans and was in Gastonia 45 miles away out with friends to dinner and wouldn’t make it. He said to practice walks down the aisle together. He also said he never goes to rehearsal dinners any way and would be fine by tomorrow, not to worry. (3rd red flag) I couldn’t believe it! I was shocked at how unprofessional he was. We were paying this guy to provide a service which he never performed and we were paying for the venue by the hour for the rehearsal. I was so angry and confused on what to do. We ended up using our close friend to officiate the wedding but the whole experience for my entire wedding day was off which I blame on Jim Lytle. Don’t use his services. The wedding venue stopped recommending him. But I doubt it. This isn’t the first time this has happened I am sure. He also comes across very arrogant, loud, and boisterous. We wanted a quiet ceremony and I’m so glad in the end we didn’t go with him and went with someone we liked and respected. We got what we wanted a quiet & perfect ceremony. No thanks to Jim Lytle. His website and profile should say Wedding destroyer.

My fiance and I met Rev. Lytle over a year ago at a bridal show in Charlotte and we booked him for our upcoming wedding. We fell in love with his spunky personality and were eager to have him officiate our wedding May 2017. Over the course of the last few months we have had 3 meetings, all of which Jim picked the time and location. Jim was late to every single meeting and had excuse after excuse despite email and text reminders, from myself, prior to confirm. On our second meeting we went through our ceremony and verses etc and had everything mapped out. On our 3rd meeting, Jim was over 2 hours late and when we went to finalize our wedding ceremony plans that day, he began rummaging through his belongings and realized he had lost everything...Today, my fiancé received a call from Jim to which he said that he was unable to officiate our wedding, which is now 36 days away. Here's the kicker...he said he knew of a potential family engagement months in advance around the time of our wedding and even went on to say he knew the finalized date of this family event at our last meeting. He made no mention of this to us, despite our last meeting being well over a month or two ago...we even asked specifically if there would be any interference on our wedding day being that his track record with us had proven poor and late consistently. From our experience, Jim has been highly unprofessional, inconsiderate, and a negative impact on our upcoming wedding. His actions have disrupted our planning process and has added undue stress for my fiancé and I, when this is the time we should be celebrating and enjoying together. I am at least thankful for the fact that this did not happen on our wedding day, but it can't get much worse! I urge you to book otherwise because the red flags were there, we just gave him the benefit of the doubt, and we are paying for it big time!! We are quite displeased, to say the least! I would give him 0 stars but I cannot submit the review without a star..
