    Wonderful vendor

    We had various zoom calls where we decided he was the best person to do our wedding. He has years of experience both as weddings and therapy with couples. He was attentive, organized, and so easy to work with. It was a pleasure to work with Dr. Henderson. He listened to what type of ceremony we wanted and included various family members in the ceremony to make it extremely special.

    Wonderful to work with

    My husband and I felt a connection with Robert the first time that we met over Zoom! He was easy to talk to and so helpful in allowing us to create our perfect wedding ceremony. We changed our minds many times about what we wanted included, and he always kept notes of what changes we wanted. He was also flexible in meeting with us around our work schedules, and arrived early to both our rehearsal and wedding day ceremony. We would highly recommend working with Robert!

    Absolutely amazing!

    My husband and I got married on October 3, 2021. The venue where we got married provided us with a justice of the peace. However, once we began communicating with Dr. Henderson we knew we wanted him to officiate our day. Dr. Henderson was simply AMAZING through everything. In our first meeting with him, he took the time to get to know us and listened to our love story. He let us know what the day would potentially be like and everything that would be included in the ceremony. He was so professional! He communicated with us up until the actual day. He was very caring and thoughtful. He went above and beyond to make sure that our ceremony was what we wanted. Even our families were impressed.
    He truly made our day special!!!

    A pleasure to work with!

    Working with Rev. Dr. Henderson was a pleasure. He is friendly, understanding, flexible, and thoughtful. As so many couples did, we found ourselves replanning our wedding in the wake of COVID-19, and Robert was with us all the way - happy to work with us as we changed the venue, the ceremony content, and enacted social distancing (both with the wedding format, and also broadcasting the ceremony on Zoom). Throughout the process, he was attentive to our desires regarding ceremony content while also giving us ample material and ideas to draw from and build on. In the end, he helped us create a very meaningful wedding that reflected our values and perspectives perfectly. Thank you, Robert!

    Bob was excellent!

    Exceeded Our Expectations

    The officiant of a wedding plays the most crucial role! This is the person that influences how the wedding day starts and is in control of the entire wedding ceremony. I personally think the ceremony is the most important part of the wedding since it is your family witnessing both partners becoming one! We currently live in California and we were having our wedding in Stonington, CT. Planning a wedding was extremely tough due to the distance / time difference and I was initially weary of choosing an officiant. Having someone my husband and I both connected with was extremely important.

    Choosing Robert Henderson as our officiant was the best decision we made! He cares so much about making the perfect custom ceremony for each couple. We didn’t even know how a ceremony started or ended, and we honestly did not know how to begin. Rob had so many options and readings that we could quickly tailor to our personality. We met with him and quickly hit it off! He wanted to get to know us as individuals, as a couple, and wanted to make sure he was aware of all family dynamics. My husband and I had a couple of unique cases and Rob made awesome suggestions in the ceremony to make sure we recognized and involved everyone we wanted to in our families! Our ceremony was so beautiful and we are extremely grateful to Rev. Henderson. He exceeded our expectations and we just love that he was a part of our big day!

    He's the best!

    Father Bob was such a joy to work with! From our first FaceTime call with him he was so nice and easy to converse with and we immediately knew we wanted him to be our officiant. He brought tons of ideas to the table for our ceremony and was very patient with us as we modified it off and on over several months. Just as on FaceTime we loved meeting him for rehearsal (we tweaked a few things that night too and he was so flexible with the changes), and we had the most beautiful ceremony with him! No need to look any further for a wedding officiant - Rev. Bob will easily help you make your wedding perfect!

    Highly Recommend Robert Henderson

    Planning our out-of-state wedding was tough when it came to selecting vendors - we couldn't meet vendors in person and had to interview them over the phone or FaceTime. Finding a wedding officiant was particularly tough. We didn't want just any officiant, we wanted someone we clicked with. After talking with 4 or 5 different candidates, we didn't think we would find the "right" officiant. That is until our DJ (DJ Sam from Atmosphere Productions) recommended we reach out to Robert Henderson. We setup a FaceTime call with him and within about 30 seconds, we knew we found our officiant. Robert's outgoing personality, sense of humor, and easygoingness made us feel comfortable and confident. He politely offered suggestions and helped make our ceremony a special one. A few months before the wedding, we made a trip to Connecticut for a holiday and Robert asked us to stop by his office to meet. He was just as we expected - he couldn't have been nicer. As the day approached, Robert checked in with us to make sure everything was just right. He attended our rehearsal and did a wonderful job with the ceremony. Afterward, we had several family members and friends remark how great our ceremony was. I'm so glad we chose Bob for our officiant and I would highly recommend him to other couples looking for one.

    Exceptional!

    We are so lucky to have found Rev. Bob for our elopement. He was everything we were looking for and needed. We wanted something unique and he helped us create something better than we could have imagined. He was the perfect fit. We are so grateful!

    Bob is the best!

    We recently had the pleasure of having Bob officiate our wedding in October 2018. Bob is awesome to work with. He is very kind, professional, and trustworthy. From the first meeting we had, we knew that Bob would be perfect for our wedding. He told us that he could tailor our ceremony to be EXACTLY how we wanted it. We worked through a couple drafts of the script until we came to the final version. At our ceremony, he did not deviate at all from the script that we had agreed upon. He was extremely responsive to emails and was willing to set up as many in-person meetings as necessary. He also provided many options for readings that we were able to choose from. I would highly recommend Bob as an officiant - you will not be disappointed!

    We initially contacted Bob because he happened to officiate my sister in laws wedding back in 2011. From the first time meeting we knew Bob was incredible, he gave us direction, ideas and potential readings we could include and worked with us to create an incredible ceremony with readings by our maid of honor, best man, and two very close friends, not to mention working with my husband to add a special surprise. Bob made our ceremony so very special for us and we could not say enough wonderful things about him.

    Bob did a phenomenal job officiating our ceremony. We had an outdoor ceremony at our venue, and my husband and I were very particular about what we did and did not want said or included and Bob was so easy going and accommodating. He gave us a layout of a typical ceremony with many suggestions for readings and little personal touches we could pick from so we easily crafted our own personalized experience that we were both comfortable with. He was very helpful with guidance on things we weren't sure about, and was very personable and warm. He also was very patient with us as we worked and went back and forth on some details. On his suggestion we did a wine bottle ceremony during the wedding and everyone loved it! I would highly recommend him for your wedding!

    After our first meeting, my now husband and I walked out of Rob’s office with a smile and an immediate reaction of, this is him! This is who I want to marry us! There was a sense of comfort, relief, and just a overwhelming amount of a connection as if we have always been around one another. Our chosen ceremony, one of many offered, was exactly what we were looking for! Being in constant contact kept that connection going and meant even more when speaking these words. We are very grateful and will forever keep in touch with Rev. Dr. Henderson!

    When my (now) husband and I first spoke with Rob we knew he would be a great fit. He was always so friendly and professional. Even though we had just met him, it felt as though we had know him forever. He was always very responsive and I could not imagine anyone better for our wedding.

    I am so glad we chose Rob to be our officiant for our wedding. He is so personable and comfortable to be around. When we first met with Rob we had an idea for the kind of ceremony we wanted and Rob was able to go into detail as to how it would work out. And he offered other ceremony ideas. He even emailed us a rough draft copy of the ceremony the next day. He made everything so easy for us and was so accommodating of what we wanted. We got married outside and our venue did not offer a rehearsal so Rob invited us to have a rehearsal outside at his church. We actually made a change to the processional the day of the wedding and Rob was perfectly ok with it, he wanted us to have the ceremony we wanted.

    I can not thank Rob enough for marrying us!

    We found Reverend Henderson online and we are so glad that we did! He met and communicated with us as much as we needed. We wanted a ceremony that had some religious elements and he incorporated the perfect balance. He also had some great ideas to personalize our ceremony and we were thrilled with the result! He was extremely helpful during the rehearsal and the morning of the ceremony. We would absolutely recommend him!

    Robert was the best officiant we could ask for! From the moment we met (via skype) to the actual wedding day, he was responsive to any emails and very helpful with his suggestions.     Reverend Bob stepped up for Andrew and I and he was the perfect fit for our wedding day this fall. He was very accommodating to our crazy schedules and flexible with our ceremony preferences.     Loved Rev Henderson! Perfect ceremony and he's a sweetheart! I felt completely comfortable using him as our officiant. He took time to get to know both my husband and I. He was on the ball 150% of the time. Reverend Henderson is professional, GENUINE, and it was an absolute pleasure to work with him.

    We could not have imagined a better officiant. He was so helpful and responsive and even incorporated a last minute change without any hesitation. He provided us with great ideas for the ceremony, but let us personalize everything. After the ceremony, numerous guests commented about how wonderful the officiant was and how wonderful the ceremony went. I would recommend using Dr. Rev. Henderson without any reservations.

    Rob was such a wonderful officiant for our wedding. His warm demeanor and welcoming speaking style really helped all of our family members, both non-religious and religious, feel welcome. He allowed us to customize our ceremony the way we wanted and provided us with great ideas to use. He kept things moving along as we had asked, and he was so great to work with.     Working with Reverend Rob Henderson was a complete pleasure from our first email exchange to the actual day of our wedding. He is incredibly warm, kind, responsive, and personal. He was open to our feedback about our specific desires for our ceremony and as a result it felt like "us."     Being of different faiths, my husband and I were searching for someone to marry us who was open-minded, flexible, and who would be creative enough to help us craft a ceremony to fit what we were looking for. After our first meeting with Reverand Rob, we knew he would be perfect! His experience enabled him to provide the relevant guidance and materials we needed to craft a ceremony that was unique to us. On our wedding day, Rev. Rob was a calming presence during a somewhat chaotic day and delivered an absolutely beautiful ceremony that we couldn't have been more pleased with.     Reverend Henderson (Rob) was truly amazing. The initial planning meeting was a great experience, he had so many wonderful ideas for our ceremony. Reverend Henderson made it all so easy, to select readings and customized the ceremony so that all of our guests felt special. We participated the in the wine box ceremony where we wrote love letters to be placed in a time capsule with a bottle of wine, this is to be opened on our 5th wedding anniversary. All of our guests were gushing about how beautiful the ceremony was to witness. I can't say enough about how special our wedding day was thanks to Rob! He is a very special man!

    Rev. Robert Henderson was such an absolute pleasure to work with! It was very important to my now husband and I to have an intimate personalized wedding ceremony and he helped provide this to our exact wishes! He worked with us to personalize and create a ceremony that displayed our personalities and our love story. Throughout the entire process, he was an absolute delight and we loved working with him!     Rob Henderson was definitely the right choice for our wedding. He was kind, professional and everyone in our wedding party loved being around him. He was incredibly responsive during our engagement process and even gave us advice for book reading material as we started preparing for marriage. He was very patient during our rehearsal- we have a big family and it's not easy to get everyone to listen all at once. He was a wonderful asset to our special day. Our ceremony went off without a glitch and we feel so thankful to have had Rob be a major part of that. We highly recommend him.

    Although we only met a couple of times before he married us, on our wedding day it was as if we had a longtime family friend with us at the altar. Warm, caring, friendly, we could not have asked for more! We had such a wonderful experience, we still keep in touch six years later. In fact, he married some of our best friends last summer on our recommendation.

    Choosing the right officiant is very important to make the ceremony special. I knew I was making the right decision with Dr. Henderson because he performed a beautiful ceremony for a good friend. He made every step of the planning not only seamless, but magical as well. You are reminded of how special the ceremony is because he makes it that way! He is truly a gem! I loved him!     Rev dr. Robert Henderson performed our wedding ceremony at st Clemens castle in 2011. He did an exceptional job and we couldn't be happier.     We chose Mr. Henderson to officiate our September 15, 2012 wedding and we couldnt be happier with him. From the start Rob was a pleasure to work with. He gave us lots of ideas for the ceremony and in the end provided us with a beautiful meaningful ceremony. He was always available with any questions we had and was so flexible even when i wanted to change the bridal lineup last minute. He really cared about making our day the best. Aside from that Rob is all around a sweet kind person and i feel so blessed to know him. Im so happy we chose him to marry us, and would reccomend him to anyone.     Rev. Henderson provided a very moving and personalized ceremony that many of our guests later said was the best ceremony they have ever seen.
    He was very easy to work with, and we certainly didn’t make that easy for him! My husband was living and working overseas during the planning process, so our first meeting with Rev. Henderson was conducted with the bride in Connecticut, and the groom a continent away via Skype. (He said this was a first for him, and he was very excited to meet via Skype!) He continued to work with our crazy schedule and last-minute requests providing the calm, professional presence that we needed.
    On the day of our wedding, my husband was pretty nervous, but he told me later that, “As soon as I saw that Bob was there, I calmed right down. I knew everything was going to be fine.” And it was. Everything was perfect.

    Dr. Robert Henderson was a wonderful officiant. DJ Sam of Atmosphere Productions recommended him to us and we are so happy that he did. Dr. Henderson was willing to help us create a most unique ceremony. In addition to listening to our wants, needs and ideas for our ceremony, he also offered a lot of valuable advice and ideas of his own which made our ceremony all the more special!

    Last year, after having been partners for nearly 16 years, we decided to make our relationship official in the eyes of the law and to enjoy the ceremonial rite of marriage. Living in Florida, it became clear that the effort of planning a long distance wedding in Connecticut was going to be a daunting task.

    Our biggest issue was coming to an agreement on who would officiate our wedding. Having come from two different religious backgrounds, it became difficult for us to merge our thoughts on how to find a member of the clergy to perform the service. Having both experienced anti-gay messages within our respective religions, we were both somewhat apprehensive about how to proceed. Fortunately, we discovered the Reverend Dr. Rob Henderson of the United Church of Christ on Martha Stewart’s wedding website. We knew that we would have to personally meet Dr. Henderson to be able to make a final decision about our comfort level with him. As fortune would have it, Dr. Henderson happened to be finishing up his vacation in, of all places, Florida! He very graciously agreed to forgo some of his free time and allow us to go meet him.

    The encounter began with his honest admission of never having performed a same-sex marriage before and in the same moment sharing his excitement at the possibility. We spent quite a bit of time speaking about our vision for our wedding (we were rather clueless) and he was phenomenal in helping to guide us in our inexperience. By the time we had left our first meeting, we knew that he was the person we wanted to marry us. It was evident very early on that he was very invested in ensuring that our wedding be as perfect for us as it could possibly be.

    Throughout the remainder of the planning period, Dr. Henderson was easily accessible and able to answer any questions that we had. He helped to keep us on track in planning the ceremony. He offered guidance and suggestions, but always allowed us to determine what worked best for us and what did not. Throughout the process, he worked tirelessly with us to ensure that our wedding rehearsal and the ceremony itself were professional and went off without a hitch. He performed a traditional wedding ceremony with a few modern twists that had our guests in tears. Many went out of their way to tell us how wonderful the service was and how warm Dr. Henderson had been with everyone. We now consider him to be a part of our family. We highly recommend Dr. Henderson for your wedding service. We would also be very happy to speak personally with anyone who would prefer to discuss this recommendation.

    Mr. Henderson was awesome. We are Catholic, but wanted to get married outside, so we didn't go through the church. Mr. Henderson is a Reverend, and has his PhD in psychology as well (I think). He was so kind and loving- from my very first conversation on the phone with him, he told me what an important event this was, how serious he takes it, how honored he was to be a part of this day. He gave us awesome suggestions and ideas about the ceremony- very touching, unique things. I had more comments after the ceremony about how incredible it was- I was shocked. I don't ever remember telling anyone what a great ceremony they had; I usually rave about the wedding in general. But so many people commented and complimented us on the ceremony, and this is due to Mr. Henderson. I highly, HIGHLY recommend such a kind, warm gentlemen to do their service!

    My husband and I are filled with happiness when we think back on our wedding day. That is in a big way due to Rob. From the very first email I received to him from after the ceremony was completed he was a supportive, warm, and smiling presence. He helped up tremendously with what to include in our ceremony-- we wanted it to be spiritual without catering to any particular religion- and he was open to all of our suggestions. Whether it was email or in person he was always very prompt in getting back to us and through the whole thing I had confidence in him. He did not let us down! We are very thankful to have met Rob and to have had him officiate the wedding- it could not have been a better experience.

    Rev. Robert Henderson was wonderful to work with. He was the first officiant we met with in our planning process and decided to book him right away. He is kind and very personable and made us both feel at ease in his presence. He had some wonderful ideas for incorporating certain ideas we had into our ceremony and seemed genuinely excited about helping us create a unique ceremony. He was respectful of the time we had set aside for our ceremony and arrived very early to our venue to ensure that we were comfortable and ready to go.

    Rev. Henderson is a professional and caring officiant and he was a pleasure to work with.

    Bob provided a very warm and sweet service for our wedding. The service was organized well despite the facility not holding rehearsals (we did our own). Also, he made it feel like a close family event that we will never forget. thank you.

    Bob was great! He was very friendly, personable and kind. He took the time to really get to know my wife and I. He did a great planning and facilitating the wedding ceremony. He customized the ceremony to make it the way my wife and I wanted. We really enjoyed having him as a part of our wedding. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    Rev. Henderson is a lovely man. He’s very supportive of giving you the ceremony you want, while also being full of ideas.

    This was a great experience. Slightly more expensive than other officiants, but the level of attention was worth it. A very pleasant man, who delivered a touching ceremony. He had many ideas, but was always willing to deliver the ceremony we wanted. Highly recommended.
