Cake was delicious
We had a 3 tier square cake. It was blue velvet with chocolate cream in the middle. The taste was amazing. The look was exactly what I asked for. -

We wanted something simple but tasty. Retro Bakery delivered. Brian was very responsive and made the process easy. I was so happy with our finished product. We are not big on flowers, so it was perfect! -

My wedding cake was delicious and beautiful. I went with Retron because they offer different types of cakes and because I know they would make it beautiful. The one concern I had was that I didn't get to talk to Brian directly. All contact was via email until we actually went in the store and paid. He did exactly what I wanted and my cake was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. They delivered it and set it up. He added some additional bling to the cake we had not discussed, but it was GREAT!!!It is a craft that he has MASTERED!!!The staff in the store were friendly and helpful as well. -

Ordered cupcakes and a small cake for our party for 30. Brian answered quickly with all of my questions and concerns. With a 4 1/2 hour time difference communication is difficult. Our cupcakes and cake surpassed our expectations. Flavours and presentation was spectacular! And being able to have 2 flavours per dozen meant we got to try so many flavours! Don't think twice you won't be disappointed. Flavour, design, price cannot be beat. -

From the moment we tasted the buttercream and the delicious cake we knew Retro Bakery had to do our cake for our wedding and boy, did they deliver! Kari and Brian are wonderful and dedicated professionals who make the whole cake ordering, designing, and tasting process easy and fun. Kari and Brian were in contact with us the whole time, from start to finish, to ensure a smooth wedding day. The cake that they created was a piece of art. Michael and I were in awe of its beauty and stature. I really didn't want to eat it at all because of how beautiful it was. However, the cake tasted better than it looked if that was possible! The cake, rich and moist, with delicate flavors, the buttercream melting in your mouth at the first bite all combining to create heaven on earth in your mouth! It was simply out of this world! Thank you Kari and Brian for creating such a masterpiece and creating memories for Michael and I that will last a life time! You both are amazing! -

Great service and great cupcakes! I ordered mini cupcakes for my wedding reception! I order the cupcakes from the phone because I couldn't go there to order them. They arrived at the time they agreed and everything was perfect! Everybody loved the mini cupcakes and they looked so beautiful on the table. The price was great too. $15 for a dozen mini cupcakes! -

HOLY CUPCAKES!
The best I have ever had! We ordered 8 different flavored cupcakes in the mini size and a 6 inch cut cake from Retro for our wedding. All the flavors were amazing and the cut cake was vanilla with chocolate icing and it was delicious. Our family and friends cannot stop talking about the cupcakes, they keep asking me if they will deliver to Virginia. I wish!!!! This was a very affordable bakery and so tasty! Amazing and easy to work with! Thanks RETRO! -

Their cakes are amazing. So moist not dry like a lot of the cakes I've tried and they deliver anywhere for a reasonably priced fee (and we're getting married at the resort at mt. charleston). Couldn't have picked a better place to get our wedding cake. -

I used Retro Bakery for my wedding cake and cupcakes. We had a small 6 inch cake for cutting and 5 dozen cupcakes: chocolate fountain, pucker up, 9th island, red velvet and vanilla. All the flavors were very good, but my favorite was pucker up. The decoration on a 6 inch cake was lovely. They drop the cakes of the day before the wedding at our reception location. Their prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended! -

I decided to do a cupcake tower instead of a traditional cake since I had a cocktail reception. I thought a full cake would be too difficult to feed to people without traditional table and chairs. I contacted Brian with Retro Bakery and he took care of everything! I ended up doing a 6" round cake for the top, and 96 mini cupcakes all around the cupcake tier. Everything was delicious and he set everything up at my reception location! Working with Retro Bakery was the easiest and most convenient part of my entire wedding. -

Retro Bakery did an excellent job on our cupcake tower with cake on top. All the flavors were amazing, especially the Hop Scotch! People were absolutely raving about these! They also did an excellent job getting everything set up and their prices were very reasonable for Vegas. I highly recommend Retro Bakery! Very easy to work with! -

Brian made our wedding cupcake display look amazing. He came on time to setup and was gone before I could thank him. We loved our wedding cake flavor which was Pink Lemonade. Besides the mini cupcakes and topper cake, we also purchased their sugar cookies which were devoured instantaneously. By the end of the night there were only a few cupcakes left over…a good sign in my opinion :) -

The cake was perfect! I ordered online and the owner, Brian conversed with me over emails. I sent some photos of what I liked and he created the perfect cake for us, price was excellent and the taste was to die for. Retro Bakery was great to work with. We ordered a 6" (vegan) cake topper and 4 dozen (non-vegan) cupcakes. Brian was very flexible and helpful with helping us to design the cake (which was lovely), and the cupcakes were just adorable. Plus, they tasted good! The vegan cake was great, and I heard nothing but rave reviews about the cupcakes. The pricing was also very reasonable. Overall, we were thrilled! -

With a few phone calls, Retro Bakery was able to have an amazing Cupcake and Cake set up for our wedding. After trying many cupcakes in Las Vegas, Retro defines quality. We had them do a cake along with 300 mini cupcakes and I don't know which was better. You can't go wrong with Retro Bakery. -

I booked retro because we had done a taste test with them last fall. Every flavor that we tried was delicious. Ordering over the phone was very easy, and I paid everything in advance. I also paid a $50 delivery fee so they would bring the cupcakes into to restaurant and set up on cupcake stands that we provided. The cupcakes were in place when we got there and they were delicious. We ordered 4 dozen each of Chocolate Fountain, Coffee and Donuts, and Pink Lemonade. I also ordered 6 vegan friendly cupcakes for myself. Delicious, pretty, and on time. -

We live near Retro and stop in for cupcakes regularly, so we knew that we would have them at the wedding. The cupcakes are always delicious and the staff was wonderful in helping us decide on the other details and how to display them. The cupcakes did not disappoint! I live out of state, so when it came to choosing a cake I didn't get to do the tastings. I chose them based off of other reviews online... EXCELLENT CHOICE! They were extremely affordable, and even deliver everything to my hotel the day before. We got the 6" round cake for our cake cutting ceremony, and it was actually very big. We also ordered mini cupcakes as favors for all of our guests. With the frosting, they turned out quite big and very, very tasty. I put them in 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 clear boxes and wrapped a ribbon around them and they were so cute.
There are so many awesome flavors, but we couldn't get them all :( We ended up getting the milk & cookies, mint chocolate chip, coffe & donuts, Pucker Up, and Hop Scotch (MY FAVORITE) -

Wonderful! We ordered the mini cupcakes for our weddings, 5 different flavors. They are delicious! Our guests raved about how fun it was to be able to sample a few different flavors--rather than be stuck with one flavor of cake. They are beautiful and made my cake table quite the talk of the reception. They even had vegan cupcakes for me (I am vegan, husband is not--but he loved them) so I could partake in the eating of sweets at my wedding. They were easy to deal with--we had to call a few times and change the numbers on them, but it was never a hassle. Great to work with! -

Brian at Retro Bakery was absolutely a pleasure to work with. Being that I was planning from a distance, I'd read reviews that he could be difficult to get ahold of and that made me slightly nervous, but my husband loved their work online. Well, I couldn't disagree more -- I never experienced any responsiveness issues at all. Brian and I communicated both through email and phone to create a custom cupcake tower and 6 inch cutting cake on the top. He provided recommendations as to how many flavors to choose, which ones were popular, and the best looking set-up. I told him I wanted it to be a "Married in Las Vegas" theme, but didn't really have any inspiration pictures to share or anything. When I saw the set-up (which they executed on time and perfectly), it was like Brian had been in my head! Every other cupcake was all individually decorated - and looked to me to be all different -- with poker chips with my new last name initial and dice. Brian also took care of our cake topper, which was my new last initial and it knocked my husband and father-in-law's socks off!!!!
Then we got to eat them :) Everyone raved about the taste. We had ordered about 1.5 mini cupcakes per guest and, even with the additional dessert buffet provided by the venue, had very few left over (we would have liked more left over lol). I would absolutely recommend Retro bakery for any event - and wish I lived closer so I could use them again! -

So YUMMY!! After price comparing all the major players and less than 3 weeks away from the wedding, we decided on Retro. To cut costs (and to take full advantage) we opted for a cupcake tower w/ a 6in round cake to cut. We couldn't decide on just one flavor, so we got Pucker Up for the cake (my favorite) and for the cupcakes, Red Velvet (tasted more like chocolate, but delicious just the same), Vanilla loves Vanilla (and so do I!!) & my husband's favorite Mint Chocolate Chip. The guests raved about how DE-lish everything was!
Just a note: if you rent the tower, you'll have to return it within 5 days to get your deposit back and they're located about 20 miles off the strip... but the store smells SO GOOD!!

LOVE Retro. I tried EVERY cupcake place in town and Retro was my choice for the cupcakes at our wedding. It's obvious I'm excited about cupcakes and now consider myself a cupcake snob because I won't eat cupcakes anywhere but Retro. PS- in case you don't know they make GIANT cookies that are also amazing so make sure to check those out. We bought a bunch of cookies for our prewedding get-together and they were a big hit.
So I ordered over a 100 minis in like 10 flavors so my guests could experience all the awesome Retro flavors. They were amazing and our guests absolutely loved them.
We frequent Retro and are always greeted cheerfully by the girls at the front counter. It's a bit of a drive, but totally worth it. So to sum it up- It's a small business owned by an awesome family that know how to cook up some rad cupcakes. Gotta check it out! -

We used Retro bakery for cupcakes at our in-suite meet and greet. I ordered a variety of mini-cupcakes. The delivery girl was running behind but she kept me updated with where she was so I could meet her in the hotel lobby once she got there, instead of waiting around. The cupcakes were beautiful and equally as yummy! Everyone had a great time tasting the different flavors. I'm a simple girl and loved the Vanilla loves Vanilla! :) -

Delicious doesn't even come close to describing Kari and Brian's cake and cupcakes! We had 3 dozen mini's and a 6" cake for our small wedding. As it turns out, we were eating cake and cupcakes for the entire week and I woke up craving a pink lemonade cupcake a few days after getting home. They have perfected their cakes and the buttercream icing is pure heaven. No wonder all the locals we came in contact with were practically drooling when I said Retro was our bakery. We will definitely be visiting them on every trip back to Vegas! -

Our cake was awesome!! Everyone loved the cupcake/cake idea. I went back and forth with Brian for a bit before we finally figured out what I wanted and how to make it look great. I did 3 flavors of cupcake and a small cake on top for cutting with butter cream and fondant birds kissing (so cute!!) I bought extra flowers to decorate the cake and everything. but Brian just did it there for me and it looked awesome!!! Retro bakery is the cutest cupcake shop in the valley. Brian, who did the wedding cake, was very responsive, knew how Paiute worked, ended up working on his day off to make sure he delivered the cake personally to the reception. When we cut the cake, I was so impressed with the taste, I actually made sure I went back to my seat and ate the slice they had left at my place. It was so good. My parents took the rest of the cake home after the ceremony and ate it for the next week. It was very rich, and very yummy. -

Delicious mini-cupcakes. We got 10 different flavors and had way too many for our ~35 people, but you can get two flavors per dozen so you could get a smaller number and still have a lot of variety. My favorites were the Pink Lemonade (lemon cake with pink lemonade buttercream) and the Pucker Up (raspberry cake with lemon buttercream); my husband loved the Brownie Sundae (basically a brownie in cupcake form); guests also particularly liked the Blueberry Pancake (blueberry cake with maple buttercream), the Peanut Butter Cup (chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream), and the Vanilla Loves Chocolate (vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream). Don't worry--it was pretty much all delicious.
They delivered to our hotel before the wedding, a couple of hours before we had to head out to Valley of Fire, well-wrapped so the cake would stay fresh for our 9pm reception; the delivery fee anywhere on the Strip is $20, which is not bad at all.
Also, they include sales tax in their prices! This is a big deal; the sales tax in Clark County is 8.1%, but it's folded into their prices, which at $12/dozen mini-cupcakes are already very good.
Basically, if I had to do it again, I would just get 2/person, even with a large variety--we thought so many choices would encourage people to pig out, but we had a TON of leftovers with about 4/person. My husband and I were eating them for a couple of days after. The ones that kept the best were probably the Pucker Up and Blueberry Pancake ones, I think because they actually had some fruit in the batter to moisten them a little more. The Brownie Sundae ones probably went stale the fastest, but they make no pretense about these having a long shelf life. As they point out on their website, who would let them sit around in anything but extraordinary wedding leftover circumstances? I've heard freezing cake doesn't yield very good results, but I'm already hoping we can make a 1-year anniversary trip to Vegas next year and stop by the Retro Bakery for celebratory cupcakes!
One other thing: They rent/sell cupcake towers, and will also do 6" cakes to top them if you want more of a traditional cake for cutting--we just didn't really want to bother with that. We brought in our own cardboard cupcake towers from Target, but it turned out we could have bought styrofoam ones for about the same price ($15 apiece) from Retro Bakery directly.

My husband and I are admittedly cake snobs. We were very nervous about booking a baker from across the country without ever trying the cake. However, we couldn't have picked a better one. I only wish they had a location back home!
We ordered a 6 inch cake for cutting, along with 9 dozen mini cupcakes, and they were some of the best I've ever had. The guest favorite was the Hop Scotch, but they loved them all. We also ordered Pucker Up, Cookies & Cream, Milk & Cookies, Chocolate Loves Vanilla, and Red Carpet (my favorite). Our cake was Chocolate Loves Vanilla, and every slice was devoured. Sadly, despite how much we enjoyed them, we had sooo many cupcakes left over. I only hope that some hotel employees were able to enjoy them. I would have taken them home if I could.
I was not there when everything was delivered and set up, but it appears to have gone flawlessly. When we got to the suite for the reception, everything was set up beautifully. I was able to send Brian some pictures and describe exactly what I wanted, and he made it come together just right.
We may have to take a little road trip to Retro next time we are in Vegas. I need another Red Carpet!

I found Retro Bakery because they were on my venues preferred vendor list. and I'm so happy I did! We went down to the bakery and bought 8 different kinds of cupcakes to try. We had such a hard time choosing which flavor to use for our wedding cake because they were all so good. They ended up letting us pick a different flavor for each tier. We went with my husbands favorite, chocolate fountain. My favorite, vanilla loves vanilla (boring i know, but sooo good). And one we both really loved, pink lemonade. We were on a really tight budget and I got multiple quotes from various bakeries and only found two that were in our price range (Retro being one of them). We had a tasting at the other one and every flavor was disgusting, and with delivery it would have been more expensive.
Pro's: great tasting, beautiful cakes, lots of different flavors, inexpensive and free delivery.
Con's: FAR away, no tastings, I wanted bright white frosting and it was more of an ivory or off white.
The pro's of this bakery totally outweigh the con's, I would recommend them to anyone! -

The people at Retro Bakery were really nice and energetic. I know there are only a few people working the shop which makes they're responsiveness a bit slow - but they make delicious cakes!!! YUM! Our wedding cake was amazing. We went to Retro Bakery after emailing with Brian and they gave us a box of cupcakes with cake/frosting combos to choose our cake flavors from. I only gave a 3 on responsiveness because I was not receiving follow up calls BUT later I found out that there was another cake being ordered under my first name. That is we're th bad stopped an everything else was OUTSTANDING.
The cakes I ordered were not overpriced, gorgeous, and tasting amazing!
I was steered towards this bakery by the staff were I purchased my dress and when I headed done to the bakery I was greeted by very pleasant staff! I tried some cupcakes (they don't really do wedding tastings) and based on the ones that me and my crew of 3 devoured I decided to order 3 of every flavor to have for my engagement party. It was nice since we al go to try the flavors out and based on everyone's favorite I cam up with the flavors I wanted for the cake.
I also had the grooms cake made here at it was th coolest cak anyon had ever seen. They made a six pack of beer that looked so real the staff at the venue actually tried to open it!
I was so impressed with all of the work hat hey have forever become my go to bakery!

I worked with Brian at Retro and let me tell you - he built the cake of my dreams. Exactly as the photo I had sent him and asked for. I asked for different flavors for each of my 3 tiers and they were wonderful. The only concern I had is that the icing seemed extremely sweet but my guests did not complain.
We also ordered a variety of cup cakes and those were MUCH better than the cake itself in flavor. They were extremely delicious! When i go back to Vegas I will visit the bakery just to get some cupcakes!
I would say the pricing for the cake was comparable to other bakeries although I went above my budget for it.
Brian was also helpful with figuring out the size of the cake I need for my 40 guests.
I regret not meeting him personally as he dropped off the cake and cupcakes while I was still getting ready.
I would recommend Retro for your Vegas wedding - both thumbs up! -

Retro bakery made our delicious cake. They have so many good and fun flavors to pick from. We liked how our cake turned out with the exception of the color. We should have given them a sample color for our shade of blue. It had a blue-green hue instead of royal blue. Otherwise, they got the design down pretty well and the taste was EXCELLENT! We can't wait to dig in on our cake top tier for our wedding anniversary. You should also try their cupcakes! They're great! -

We ordered our cake a few months in advance because we heard such great things about Retro Bakery and were scared that they might book up. The cake was absolutely gorgeous and what we invisioned in our heads. We were very happy with the tier of Hop Scotch (our guests LOVED IT) but everyone said the tier of Cookies and Cream was too dry. I docked on responsiveness because we sent a few emails asking when we could pay and he never responded with payment information, then a week before the wedding he sent us an "urgent" message saying that the cake needed to be paid right away. Other than that, we were very happy with the cake. -

Vegas wedding cake
They were very nice to deal with but my cake was pretty run of the mill for Vegas. I was a little disappointed. -

I loved my wedding cake and I feel the design is one of the best they have. However, I wanted the cake to be bigger and they were not able to accommodate it. Also, I think there response time can be a little better when returning calls. -

While everyone we spoke to was very nice, we did not enjoy our wedding cake much. It was very pretty, designed just as I asked it to be. However, it did not taste good at all. The chocolate layer was way too dense and had a gritty texture to it. The vanilla layer of cake was good, but the strawberry buttercream filling was entirely too sweet. We had a lot left over and noone would take any. -

I was iffy about using Retro Bakery from the beginning of our email coorespondence. It took forever to get responses (if I even received a response) and the emails were very short. I heard so many great things about their cupcakes, so when we were in Vegas on vacation we stopped by their shop to try a few flavors. Everything tasted great and the people were so friendly and helpful in person. After all of the great reviews and our own tasting, we decided to go with Retro and ignore my gut instinct on their service.
On the day of the wedding, my now husband was called around 10am saying that they were going to be at the hotel at 10:30am (we had also confirmed 10:30am the day before). My maid of honor went to the lobby and started to wait for them at 10:30. No one showed up with the cake and cupcakes until after 11am. On top of that, Brian handed all of the cupcakes and cake to my maid of honor in the lobby to take up to the room by herself. Through all of our emails, there was never any mention that setup was not included or delivery meant handing it off in the lobby of the hotel - not even bringing it to our room. We would have had no problem paying the extra $30 for the setup to have avoided all of the mess and drama that took place on the morning of our wedding. My husband ended up getting into an argument on our wedding day over this "surprise" fee (at least it was a surprise to us!) My maid of honor ended up pulling the $30 out of her wallet to get Brian to bring the cake and cupcakes up to our room and set it up.
Once we got home from our honeymoon, we looked through all of our emails with Brian just to be sure I had not missed something in our dialogue, and not once any mention about setup. In fact, his exact words were "the total cost of the cake, including tax and delivery is X amount". Nothing ever eluded to the fact that setup was extra. I guess I never imagined that when you're paying for delivery, that meant they were just going to hand a cake and dozens of cupcakes to the maid of honor in the lobby of the hotel - not even bring it up to the room.
With all that said, the cake and cupcakes looked and tasted beautiful. I was extremely pleased with how it all turned out and am very thankful that only the people "behind the scenes" knew what happened the morning of our wedding. -

I ordered a cake from Retro Bakery for my husband's 30th b-day. They delivered it to our hotel and it was beautiful and so delicious. I wanted to order another cake for my friend's birthday the following month but had to wait until my friend returned from her European vacation to find out what flavor she wanted. I called 4 days before the date I needed the cake and was told that wouldn't be enough time. I thought it might not be enough time and thanked the nice girl that I spoke with. Before I hung up she told me that I could still order cupcakes and that I had up until the day prior to the day I needed them to order. So I called back the next day with my cupcake order and was told they couldn't accept my order because they were about to go on vacation. I told the girl I spoke with that I had been told the day before that I could still order cupcakes (I was understanding about it being too late for an actual cake) and she wouldn't budge. I was very disappointed because my friend was already expecting a cake from this bakery in a flavor she was really excited to try. I'm not familiar with the Vegas area so I guess I'll blindly try another bakery. I was so disappointed in my second experience with Retro Bakery. I was surprised at the level of unprofessionalism. :( -
