He did an amazing job. His delivery was top notch. The ceremony he put together for us was amazing he took time to get to know us as a couple and customize his service to that. Would highly recommend.

A wonderful Ceremony!

Rev Russ was great to work with! On rehearsal night, I was running around like crazy to get decor set up on a hot day. He could tell I was overwhelmed and hot, he gave me a water and made sure I drank it to keep hydrated!! Our ceremony was beautiful and he is such a great speaker. He even added in some ideas that I had sent him! I highly recommend!!

Reverend Russ was great and very responsive to my numerous emails! He spent time getting to know us and tailored our ceremony to our personalities. Very prompt and professional…highly recommend!

Rev Russell did a fantastic ceremony. He is professional and has a boat load of experience. He is also very tall. My wife and I where thrilled to have him as our officiant.

Fantastic time

Because neither of us wanted a traditional church wedding, we choose to have a small ceremony with close family only. Russ walked us through the ceremony ahead of time, let us make changes without question and made this "our" wedding. Being a second marriage for both of us, and being in our late 60's, we really appreciated being able to personalize the ceremony to us. Thanks for making our day so special Russ.

Russ is awesome!

Rev Russ did everything that we asked & more. He was very understanding when we had to make changes because of the pandemic. He did an absolute amazing job at our wedding. All of our guests even complimented him!

Exactly what we wanted for the ceremony!

Russ did a great job with our ceremony. He met with us to learn more about us, and I very much wanted a light-hearted but not joking tone to the ceremony and he met our expectations spot on. I felt like he made the ceremony warm and personal. He also worked with us changing dates and times due to covid. We met with a couple officiants but immediately knew Russ was personable while still being able to command a crowd. Highly recommend!

Wonderful & professional

We had never met with Reverend Russ before our rehearsal, except for a short interview on the phone. His non denominational service was so amazingly personal, no one knew we had no prior relationship.

Our ceremony was perfect

Reverend Russ was a pleasure to work with! We met with him twice before the wedding, and we had no doubt in our minds that he would provide a wonderful ceremony for us. He was professional, knowledgeable, and performed our ceremony with a traditional yet light-hearted feel. Also, we wanted our ceremony to be 20-30 minutes long, and our ceremony was exactly 20 minutes - perfect!! Thank you so much Reverend Russ, you made our day so special.

Impeccable. Wide variety at our ceremony from the very religious to the not-so-much. From the carnivore to the vegan. Russ set a beautiful balance of light humor and solemnity and made sure the ceremony was meaningful and sacred. Would recommend him with no hesitation.

Rev. Russ was AMAZING! We had such an amazing experience. Everyone kept asking how long we'd known him for because only a close family friend could have nailed our personalities so well! If you are looking for a great pastor to do your wedding, look no further. Rev. Russ performed a traditional religious wedding for us and everyone in attendance was impressed with the ceremony. We had a Doctorate Pastor in attendance and he was impressed with the ceremony and the words spoken. If you are looking at having a traditional religious ceremony, he is the guy to do it. He is very nice and personable and can help you through all the nuances of the ceremony. I would rate him 10 stars if I could add more stars.

Rev. Russ was simply amazing. He brought a calm demeanor to our wedding day and kept everyone laughing with his timely sense of humor. Everyone was complementing him and wondering where we found him. Hopefully I'll never have to get married again, but if I did I would ask Russ to be the one to do it.

Reverend Russ was amazing! From the start he took the time to talk to us and get to know us. He had a lot of great ideas for readings and the ceremony in general. He arrived well ahead of time for both the rehearsal and the ceremony. We had a lot of people come up to us afterward and ask "where did you find him!?". I'm so glad our venue recommended him!

Wow!! Rev. Russ was great. He was EXACTLY what we needed! Rev. Russ took the time to get to know us as we discussed working with us. He shared his experiences with us and he knew how to keep things light and easy going. He was very flexible and we chose him over an officiant from my wife's home church.

At the rehearsal and ceremony he arrived early, was well dressed and looked the part very well. But again, he kept things light. At the rehearsal he took over and gave direction where needed without stepping on any toes. We were able to keep our crying to a minimum thanks to his personality during the ceremony. Rev. Russ was perfect for us and our ceremony!

"Rev Russ" was absolutely incredible in making our day as special as it was in Lake Geneva. If I could describe Russ in one word it would certainly be "unique" in the sense he delivers wisdom, spirituality and guidance in a way that younger couples easily understand. An excellent combination of eloquence and genuine wit - he certainly kept the crowd engaged throughout the ceremony and kept us both laughing (and most importantly calm!) Russ was extremely flexible and one of a kind.

If you come across Russ your search for an officiant is finally over ! Excellent personality with professionalism as well as humor ! I had a loud obnoxious group and he pulled through it and blended in perfectly ! The best compliment I can give are the guests reactions when they all said where did you find this guy (in a good way) ? We all enjoyed his services as well as making an extra effort to meet with us prior to the wedding date for accuracy ! If he is available book him !! You wil not regret it ! Rev. Russ was great! He was very helpful with the rehearsal and getting everybody in their spots on how it was going to go, exactly. He modified the ceremony just how we would want it. I knew It was going to be great service when one of the first things he said was "Now it would be normally asked who gives this woman to this man, but we know now that women are not property". This fit right in line with my views. He was also very entertaining and funny and I had many comments from guests and family that they very much enjoyed the service. Highly recommended, also a great value for the services offered.

Russ was so helpful in not only getting our bridal party organized during the rehearsal, but he also helped calm us both down the day of the wedding.

He gets back to you in a timely fashion and helped make out ceremony personal by meeting with us several times and truly taking the time to get to know us as a couple!

Rev Russ was outstanding!!!! After talking to some other officiants (and being left speechless after hearing their costs) we finally came across Rev Russ! From the first time we met, we all clicked. He was very personable and took an interest in learning about our relationship. Up until the ceremony, there was uncertainty about one of the readings. He was totally okay with going with the flow. It was crazy windy during our ceremony, but Rev Russ knew just how to handle it. The ceremony was the perfect length! His prayer before dinner was very nice also. Rev Russ was amazing at responding to any e-mails, and had plenty of content to choose from. I couldn't have asked for anything better!

With impromptu road closures due to a marathon, guests arriving late, and me thinking I forgot the marriage license, we were extremely happy with Rev. Russ' comic relief and ease for our ceremony. We were receiving questions and comments like "Where did you find him" and "He was great" throughout the afternoon. I never got a chance to thank Rev. Russ as he had another wedding, but I was very grateful to have him there. I would recommend his services for anyone looking for an officiant with a sense of humor and character.

Rev. Russ did an amazing job officiating our wedding! He was very prompt in his communications pre-wedding, he was on time for the rehearsal ceremony, and a lot of our guests commented on how good of a job he did during the actual ceremony! Rev. Russ recently officiated our wedding ceremony and we couldn't have imagined it to be any better. He had such a wonderful personality and we knew as soon as he left our meeting that he would do a great job and we weren't let down. He was super flexible and open to all of our suggestions and even incorporated some of the prayers/readings I forwarded to him. Rev Russ was wonderful! He made our ceremony personal and made us feel very comfortable! He was very informative and answered any questions we had. Rev. Russ has a great personality. He was very friendly and easy to talk to when we met with him before the wedding. He helped keep things moving along smoothly even when there were some technical glitches from the venue during the ceremony. Even guests remarked how well he handled the ceremony. Russ was great. He is super flexible and fun to work with. I completely re-wrote the ceremony flow due to my mom's passing this year and another close family friend's accident the week of the wedding. Rev Russ had plenty of ideas for ceremony options and is open to using anything you may have in mind. He answered my emails promptly (which is important for a stressing bride haha). Our entire wedding day was perfect and he was a huge part of it!

Russ was a wonderful officiant for our wedding. He respected our every wish and was completely flexible, reliable, and caring throughout the entire planning process. Working with him was the least stressful part of planning throughout the entire thing. Our guests loved him, and he is SUCH a genuinely nice man. We feel so lucky to have found him!!

Reverend Russ was awesome! He works with you to create a truly customized ceremony. So many of our guests asked where we found him... they just loved him. Our wedding party also loved working with him at the rehearsal. We were so lucky to have him as our officiant. It made our day that much more special.

Rev. Russ was awesome! We planned our wedding in 3 weeks and he was totally accommodating! The ceremony that he wrote for us was perfect for us and beautiful. My husband is a total introvert and Rev. Russ made him feel completely comfortable standing at the altar. He's funny, easy going and thorough! I know everyone will be more than happy having him as their officiant! The day was PERFECT! Rev. Russ (aka Rent A Preacher) did an outstanding job on our ceremony. He was very easy to work with and it was wonderful to get to know him in preparation for our ceremony. He took the time to get to know us. During our ceremony (and during the rehearsal) he was perfectly light-hearted in the right places, while serious in other places. He brought just the personality we wanted in our ceremony.

Reverend Dycus was absolutely perfect! His demeanor and his understanding of what we wanted our wedding and ceremony to convey was wonderful. His ability to deliver our sentiments, with his spoken words and feeling, made our ceremony exactly what we had hoped for!!! Even though we choose our readings and vows, he offered a good variety of sources and choices to help us with our decisions. At one point, the words I had chosen for us to repeat to one another were too emotional for me to get out!!! Reverend Russ VERY smoothly took over, changing the wording for me to simply say "Yes", or an appropriate response, to make the words as if I was saying them myself!!! In the middle of the ceremony - he was a true life saver. I would HIGHLY recommend him for use at any sort of a function where an officiant is needed. He was flexible in tailoring the wedding to our style. He also greeted and talked with guests before and after the ceremony, making our families and friends feel quite comfortable. We're so glad that we found Rev. Dycus.

Russ did such a great job with our ceremony. I loved every moment of it, and how personal he made it! Made things light and comfortable at the rehearsal as well. I would recommend him to anyone.

Reverend Russ was very open to our feedback and really worked to customize our ceremony to meet our desires. From the moment we met, he worked to get to know us, to understand not just what we were looking for in an officiant, but for the overall feeling of our wedding as well.
Rev Russ provided an outline of his services and asked some basic questions of us prior to our first meeting. We met in a public setting to go over our feedback, get to know one another, and decide whether or not to work together. He was very open, and asked questions of us as well, to help us think through our marriage. If anything, Rev Russ may have been a bit nervous on our first meeting as well, which soon faded to comfort and gave us a sense of how quickly he adapts as well!
Upon our rehearsal dinner, Rev Russ was fun and structured. We had a great rehearsal and when the location was set up slightly differently the next day, his contingency plans were well utilized (a nod here and there to indicate timing etc). He was profiessional, organized, and very easy to hear and follow. Prior to the ceremony we exchanged the script verbatum and he incorporated all of our feedback (and we his!). Rev Russ made smooth transitions to and from our reader, and was very timely with the marriage license as well.
All in all, Rev Russ was a perfect choice for our ceremony. He really gave us the experience and environment we were seeking, and incorporated all of our guests with ease (they had a response to confirm support of us too)! Thank you!

Russ is the best! I've been to other weddings where he officiated and I HAD to have him perform our ceremony. He made it unique, fun, spiritual and a direct reflection of who my husband and I are. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit with our personalities and our beliefs. Our friends and family really loved it.

He's truly dedicated to giving you the ceremony you want, and is able to tailor-make it so it's a perfect fit to whatever your wants and needs are. You cannot go wrong by having Rent-a-preacher!

Rev. Russ is is a terrific choice for a wedding officiant. During the initial consultation/meeting, we could tell that Rev. Russ was the right officiant for us and our wedding - funny, professional, flexible... his personality made us feel very comfortable and put us at ease. During our ceremony, Rev. Russ made us and our guests laugh - he also did a tremendous job leading us through it considering that we did not have a rehearsal. We appreciate all of his efforts.

Reverend Russ did an A+ job at officiating our wedding. We filled out his detailed form a few months before the wedding to give him an idea of our vision. About a week before the wedding, we had an in depth chat with Russ to give him a better idea about who we are as a couple and what we wanted from the ceremony. We were feeling a lot of pre-wedding stress from all the many last minute things on our checklist. After talking with Russ that day, we were so relieved that we chose him to officiant. He was warm, funny, and understood exactly what we wanted. Russ came to our rehearsal (and was probably the only person on time for that, including the wedding party). He put us at ease and got us ready for the big day. As an officiant, he gave the ceremony a great tone of love and community with just the right amount of humor (but not too corny). He prepared a beautiful yet to the point and brief ceremony that was exactly what we envisioned. We definitely recommend Rev Russ for anyone looking for an officiant in the area.

Russ did an amazing job with our ceremony. The only downfall was the mispronunciation of our new last name at the end of the ceremony. Otherwise, amazing officiant and would highly recommend!

We had some scheduling issues (on both sides) at first, but once we worked those out, Russ was perfect for us as our officiant! Laid back and funny, but heart felt. Exactly what we were looking for!

Rev Russ was very flexible and cordial from beginning to end. Very helpful at the ceremony working with vendors and speaking with guests. Extremely outgoing, friendly, and a sense of humor. We highly recommend Rev Russ! Typically we do not give out ratings over a 4 on a survey (ever). Rev Russ has gone above and beyond and is easy to work with. Rev. Russ was simply amazing. I was a bit worried leaving so many details in his hands (as we weren't sure of a lot of the things that we wanted in our ceremony) but my fears were unfounded as the ceremony went off absolutely beautifully. He was funny, charming, witty, and most of all.. He seemed like he genuinely cared about everyone having a special time.

I can't recommend him more for wedding ceremonies.

Rev. Russ was amazing showing up 45 minutes to an hour early was a big relief. He prepared a beautiful ceremony for us, he was extremely friendly and very professional. He stayed for the cocktail hour before the reception and was very friendly and well liked by everyone. I would recommend Rev. Russ to anyone who asks. His fees were extremely reasonable and We were very happy with his services.

Once we met Reverand Russ, we knew we found our Officiant! After our first meeting he sent us an email following up on some of things we had talked about and stated he would love to work with us. He was available when we had questions and needed direction and on our special day, guided us well. He was defintely wonderful value for the money!

Rev. Russ was the first Rev. we met with and loved his quirky personality as it fit with who we are. He was on time for the wedding and spend the day with us so he could bless our dinner also! We are very simple people,love the outdoors, didn't want a long winded ceremony....we wanted fun, light, yet beautiful and to reflect who we are as a couple. Rev. Russ was able to accomplish this during the ceremony and during our entire day. We are very thankful for his service!

I was pretty disappointed overall. Granted I'm out of state (in Texas) but we talked over Skype. I repeatedly mentioned that my (now) husband's legal name was Jamie, but he only goes by James. In the first mention of us during the ceremony, he was called Jamie and Reverend Russ had to be quietly corrected. When we were announced at the end of the ceremony, he presented 'Mora and James' instead of Moria and James, pronouncing my name incorrectly! I received my Marriage License in the mail and Reverend Russ had written the wrong wedding date (July 27 instead of 28). It had to be crossed out by the County Clerk and correctly typed next to it. For the rest of my life my Marriage License has on the side 'Corrected by the Local Registrar Per Officiant'.
