User1213344 2+ years agoI cannot say enough wonderful things about Happy Cakes by Renee! We heard about Renee from our Planner, Meena from 5th Avenue Weddings and Events. We tried some of Renee's cakes at one of her bridal shows and oh my gosh...they were delicious!!! When it came time to pick a cake decorator, I remembered Renee and how yummy her cakes were. Too often at weddings, the cakes look pretty, but do not taste very good. This is what I did not want...I wanted a cake that tasted as good as it looked since I'm a huge fan of sweets :) Renee drove down from NH (we live in CT) to meet with me a couple times to discuss flavors and decor. I told her what I had in mind (something classic, simple, but with a WOW factor). I showed her some photos of what I was thinking, but told her that I wanted something original. She was able to take bits and pieces of the photos I showed her and create something unique. She emailed me a couple weeks after our meeting to say she wanted to try a shiny satin finish for the fondant of our cake. Trusting Renee I told her to go for it! It looked INCREDIBLE! Our cakes were so elegant and classic but very unique. She hand made beautiful pink flowers to accent each tier. I couldn't believe they were edible!!
We decided on three cakes, one main cake and two side tiers. We went with a chocolate turtle (Renee's specialty) and a lemon raspberry with white chocolate frosting. I can say in all honesty, our wedding cake was the best wedding cake I've ever tasted. Maybe the best cake I've ever had, period. Our guests were blown away! I am 1000% satisfied with Renee's work, both taste and decor-wise. She was very professional and creative. I can't wait for our one year anniversary when I get to eat my wedding cake again!! -
User1736863 2+ years agoRenee was so great! Not only did she have the talent to achieve my dream wedding cake, but she had the patience and time to work with me and draw up a few different examples. The cake was not only beautiful, but delicious! We like a dense cake, and she was able to achieve it easily, and in two seasonal flavors. Oh, and she is a great sculptor! Who knew you could create such great things with rice krispies! I can't say enough, I'm more than a pretty picky person, and I loved everything she was able to create. Every year on our anniversary I wish I had a miniature cake because it was really the best tasting cake ever! Thanks Renee!!
