Beautiful florals & decor

We worked with RFD for our wedding florals and table décor, and they absolutely nailed our vision. During our intro call with David, we shared that we wanted warm, firey fall colors for the flowers and lots of candles on the tables—and he executed it perfectly. The florals were stunning, and the candlelit table settings were truly breathtaking. We only had one other planning call with David closer to the wedding day, which initially made me a little nervous, but it turned out to be all we needed because everything came together exactly as we had hoped. The setup and breakdown were seamless, and the entire process was so smooth from start to finish. RFD was incredibly easy to work with, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. We’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for beautiful, thoughtfully designed wedding florals and décor!

Beautiful work!

David & RFD staff were wonderful to work with, and their beautiful creations simply speak for itself. They captured everything we had discussed in our meetings - it was whimsical and romantic, but somehow so much more. We opted for a fall color scheme, but with more brightness- and they nailed it. Staff at the venue even commented that they have never seen that fall color scheme done yet—and it made it that much more special. Stunning wedding flowers

Working with David from RFD was amazing throughout the entire wedding process! From our very first consultation, he took the time to understand our vision and really listened to what we wanted. His and his team's creativity and expertise turned our ideas into the most stunning floral arrangements we could have ever imagined.

The bouquets, centerpieces, and floral installations were all absolutely gorgeous and beyond our expectations. Each piece was carefully crafted with such attention to detail, and the flowers were fresh, vibrant, and perfectly matched our color palette.

On the day of the wedding, everything was delivered on time, set up beautifully, and added such a magical touch to the entire celebration. The florist was a true professional, making sure everything was perfect and helping to create the atmosphere we had always dreamed of.

Beautiful Arrangements for a Beautiful Price

We had such lovely floral bouquets, arrangements, and even some special pocket boutonnieres made by Renaissance Floral Design for our wedding. They totally delivered on our vision, just based off my pinterest board and two total meetings! Color me impressed! On top of the absolutely stunning work, we really thought they were very affordable, and for that reason especially, we would highly recommend them!

Absolutely stunning

I am not a huge flower person, being allergic to most but my husband's family was in the business for years. My husband was so happy to see the arrangements brought tears to his aunts eyes, they were just perfect! David was so easy to work with, the colors were spot on! My husband had a pocket bouquet that was admired by all. I would recommend them over and over again!

Stunning florals 🤩 best in the area

Working with David to create the perfect floral vision for my wedding was just so amazing. I knew florals were going to be the main point of our wedding decor so I expressed all my desires and ideas to David on multiple phone consults and sending inspo back and forth and he was just a gem to work with, I 100% recommend his floral design studio above all else, they have everything you could ever want and need and make your floral dreams come true…. Seriously. I still get compliments from our guests about how gorgeous my bouquet and flowers across the venue looked, and a lot of my bridesmaids still have their bouquets dried and on display in their homes…. Very flexible with budget as well….David brought my vision to life and I’m so grateful and thankful!!! Cheers!

HIGHLY recommend!

David and his team were AMAZING. They were prompt, responsive, patient, and just such a pleasure to work with. Gorgeous Displays

We hired RFD for an intimate wedding in Lake George after they were recommended by our wedding venue. David and his team are incredibly talented, easy to work with, and highly professional. David worked with our budget and created exactly what we wanted based on a few conversations and some Pinterest board inspiration. We ended up transporting all of our arrangements to the venue ourselves and the venue helped with setup, which saved us on overall cost. It ended up working out really well and we were blown away by how beautifully everything came together. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!!

Highly Recommend!

I hired Renaissance Floral Design for our wedding in the Adirondacks and I couldn’t have been happier with that decision. Our vision came to life!

DMS and team made our vision come to life, it was amazing. From the flowers, to the lighting, high top tables, dance floor and stage, everything was flawless. We contacted RFD 3 weeks before our 130 person wedding. David was extremely accommodating with both our timeline and our budget. He was funny, personable, and unbelievably talented. Artistic geniuses! Highly Recommend!

David and team at RFD are artistic geniuses! We worked with them for our intimate backyard wedding in Oct 2020. We knew we wanted the florals and chuppah to make the space feel magical. We showed David high-level ideas and inspiration photos and what he and his team did with the space was incredible. The bouquet – gorgeous! The driftwood chuppah – beyond our wildest dreams! The table arrangements – we were blown away by the beauty and elegance and how the space was transformed. Even the rose petals for the aisle and the small arrangements placed in our memory corner and on other tables transformed and tied together the space. We are so happy with RFD for helping us create lifetime memories!

Beyond Beautiful

RFD made our vision come to life with their beautiful floral arrangements. We went with a blue dress/suit theme paired with bold pink/orange/raspberry flowers and the contrast was gorgeous. Flowers of my dreams!

Rennisance floral design took my vision and made it a reality. Jess and Tammy are visionarys!!! I had this dream and they brought it to life. I wanted a huge organic bouquet with lots of greens and pops of blue and burgandy and I hate Roses! they put so many unique flowers I had never seen before it was so different and exciting ! I gave them a challenege and they were up for it! They also made beautiful absolutley breath taking hoop bouquets for my bridesmaids! I swear I said I wanted a pinterest wedding and it was a pinterest wedding!!! The Swag they made for the arbor captured the essence of my bouquet and tied everything together. Everyone was so pleasant to work with and understood everything I was asking for and delivered it 10 fold!
They also delivered the flowers the day of and set up the Swag so I had nothing to worry about! No stress and the flowers made the wedding decor! Would definitely recommend to anyone in the capital region! But they do travel too!!!! So I recomend to everyone!!!!

Truly Amazing!

Working with David, the owner of RFD was a game changer. He exceeded every expectation possible and provided the most beautiful, picture perfect arrangements and rentals for our wedding.

Right from the start, David made coordination and communication easy. He was extensive and thorough in his overview of what we might want or need, and made it easy to begin to visualize and articulate what we were going for. He was able to take our ideas and bring them to life in the most beautiful way. I truly believe that no matter what we had requested, David would have found a way to make it happen.

For us, RFD was more than just flowers, but an entire event planning team. We were able to order/coordinate everything from arrangements, lighting/candles, table cloths, glassware and chairs through RFD and it made all the difference. David was always organized, creative and thoughtful, and went above and beyond to make sure anything and everything we pictured for our big day was available and ready to go.

The ceremony flowers were unbelievable, with the most stunning arbor and arrangements that exceeded any idea of what we could have imagined. The reception was just as jaw-dropping, as the room had been transformed into a fairytale, thanks to David and his team. Every little detail was covered, and it truly felt like a dream come true.

Without having used any other vendor, I can confidently say you will not get a better experience than with RFD. David made our wedding more beautiful than we could have ever imagined, and was an absolute pleasure to work with. If you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience, look no further than RFD.

Beyond breathtaking flowers, incredible experience!!

I am SO happy that my wedding planner recommended Renaissance Floral Design for our wedding. Choosing the right florist is a huge decision, but from my first call with David Michael Schmidt, the incredible owner, I knew that RFD would be the right choice. I wanted a "non-traditional" color scheme for my wedding - black tablecloths with bright colors - and David got my vision immediately. Not only did he understand it, but he completely elevated it and took it to the next level. His entire team was professional and accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. I'll never forget the moment I first saw the stunning flower display that we got married under - it was just perfect in every way. Our guests could not stop talking about how great the flowers were, and my husband and I agreed that it was one of our favorite parts of the entire day. I could not recommend RFD more!!!

Stunning flowers, amazing staff

David and Troy at Renaissance Floral were incredible to work with. They were both attentive to our vague requests for flower designs (we are not very educated when it comes to flower variants or styles), were prompt with emailing and phone calls, were professional, and finally, they really brought our vision to life. They worked with us to go through a Pinterest board in which we had picked out specific flower styles that we liked, and were able to emulate them in their flower arrangements. The results were beautiful and had people commenting all day. My wife's hairstylist, upon affixing her flower crown, commented that it was the prettiest one she had ever seen. Furthermore, David was attentive to our budget requests, and ensured that we were well within our means. We are so happy that we went with them, and would do it again. Do not pass them up, you will not regret it!

Exactly what I wanted and then some

I wanted to design my own floral arrangements for my mom-traditional wedding reception, but quickly realized it would be more expensive than going with these pros. Troy was super quick to respond to my short notice request for service and assured me that he could design arrangements that would suit our needs. I brought in all of the vases and flower boxes that I had purchased and met with the designer for a consultation. She understood my aesthetic, gave me an accurate (and incredibly reasonable) quote, and I left the rest in their hands! RFD delivered the flowers exactly as promised, and the arrangements exceeded all of my expectations beyond words. Each was unique but cohesive and perfectly captured the look I was going for. The flowers turned my reception from a normal tent space into an elegant and whimsical dream. I ended up getting so many compliments that I sent them home as gifts so my guests could enjoy them for days to come. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend RFD for any event and any bridal style.

HIRE RENAISSANCE!!! David and his team are PRO's -- professional, modern, innovative, tasteful, the list goes on. David actually takes the time to go through your Pinterest board with you and make your vision come true. I had no knowledge about flowers but I didn't need to. David helps you create exactly what you want within your price range. He's also really funny and easy to talk to on the phone! Beyond Stunning in every way

David Michael Schmidt is a consummate professional who knows exactly what he is doing and does so with kindness and artistry. I was able to speak to David on the phone for one hour, and we reviewed my pinterest board, colors we like and do not like and overall desired theme of the wedding day. After our call, I was on such a high from hearing his ideas and I knew his help would bring my vision to life. I waited all year to have my in-person meeting with David, where he sat with my fiance and I for almost three hours, giving us his full attention, to review every item we selected from chandeliers to flowers, table clothes and chargers, and although he left all major decisions up to us, I knew when he had a better suggestion, and he was always right and made our idea even better. Besides how beautiful our wedding looked, one major suggestion David made was when we were discussing our sweetheart table... he gave us a look, and then we asked if we should sit with friends instead. This was the best idea and we sat at a beautiful, special table, with our MOH, BM and family. David's detail is impeccable and his dedication to making your day perfect was amazing. I only hope we can throw another party to work with David again, or just go visit him to chat :) Thanks for everything!!

David, Cathy and the Renaissance team were amazing to work with for our wedding. We have been a customer of the store for several years, and we knew they would do a beautiful job on our wedding day. Almost a year before the wedding we had a phone call to go over the basics of what we wanted and about two months before we met in person to look at some pictures I had saved on my Pinterest board. I had only shared a few pictures of bouquets and centerpieces that I liked and Renaissance was able to re-create them perfectly. Renaissance added some personal touches to my bouquet including lace from my mom's wedding dress, jewelry of my grandma's and a locket with her picture. We rented a couple antique tables directly from them that beautifully displayed the seating chart and cake at our reception. The Sagamore Resort doesn't allow open flames but Renaissance was able to order more flameless candle sticks so we could have them for every table. Renaissance handled all other outside rentals we needed such as drapes, farm tables, and bistro chairs. Cathy was quick to respond to any questions/concerns and made everything so easy. They were truly able to recreate our vision and everything was stunning.

To his face, I call him David, but behind his back, I call him “the chuppah whisperer.” I looked at tons of pictures of chuppahs both that he had designed and others online before settling on a design. Not only did David make us a beautiful chuppah, but he exceeded our expectations, which was difficult to do because I was so set on having the perfect chuppah. David was GOD SENT! The whole team at Renaissance is incredible. David helped remind me that it was only about what I wanted for my wedding which was helpful due to bridesmaid stress. He is understanding and a great person to have during the stressful wedding planning process. David and The Renaissance Floral Design did an amazing job on the flowers and decor. I had used Pinterest to save photos of flower ideas I was looking at. At our first meeting my mom and I went to see him, he had my Pinterest page up on one of his computer screens and was very organized. He suggested different ideas that would work for our venue and after meeting with him I wouldn't have gone to any other florist. He had ideas for everything from flowers, tents, and tables, to chandeliers. The day before our wedding one of his assistants sent me text messages of the flower arrangements and they were just gorgeous. My husband and I had a vision of having fruit in the floral arrangements which he had not worked with before and the flowers were exactly what my husband and I had visioned. All the guests were talking about the flowers and the fruit. He had out done himself. All of our guest who got to take the floral arrangements home with them were just so pleased with David's work. Our wedding was set for a rustic location, so my husband and I wanted to use a designer/florist who could take our venue to the next location. David delivered and then some. He created a one of a kind floral alter for us to stand in beneath the mountains that simply breathtaking. We love David and Renaissance Floral Design. He is so passionate about his flowers and does an amazing job. He was also honest about his prices. Renaissance floral design created the most amazing floral designs for my wedding 1/13/17. My husband and I are true fans of Renaissance Floral Design. We have purchased garden décor, a fountain, and flower urns. Every time we entered through the front door, the smell of fresh flowers swept me away. I had the pleasure of working with David and Cathy on my wedding flowers. We are big fans of succulents and wanted to have them included in the boutonnieres, corsages, and of course, the bridal bouquets. Thanks to inspiration from Pinterest, I had pinned a number of bouquets, etc. containing succulents to my wall. I shared my Pinterest wall with David and Cathy so they knew my preferences. On the morning of my wedding, I received a text message from David which contained two photos - one of my wedding bouquet and one of my bridesmaid bouquets. The truth is, we totally blew our budget for floral expenses, but I honestly think David and his team delivered and made it all worthwhile. I tend to be a pretty visual person, but had trouble visualizing what our end product might look like after a couple of consultations. In fact, I was shown a photo of what was described as a similar floral arrangement and got nervous that it was going to look nothing like what I was hoping for/expecting.

Then came our wedding day, and in came the bouquets while the girls were getting ready. That was the first time my mind was blow. The combination of flowers I had requested (roses, peonies, orchids sitting on a bed of hydrangea) was just so stunning. The colors (blush, white) complemented our wedding color themes with such elegance. The boutonnieres were beautifully prepared. I wasn't sure what to expect when we agreed that the groom (now husband!!) would wear an orchid boutonniere, but it, like my bouquet, was just so elegant (second time my mind was blown). The flowers at the alter were rich and blossomed beautifully against the green lawn and the backdrop of Lake George (third time mind was blown, and many more to come). The center pieces were just so romantic with all the candles... it was sheer perfection. Oh, and then the peonies that were wired for my hair... It completed the picture and made the whole event feel like one exquisite dream.

Simply stated, I think David is a visionary when it comes to his trade. His shop is beautiful, his notes (as you describe your ideas) are carefully taken, he works with your budget without pressuring you, his team is responsive, and his end product is just magic. Couldn't have asked for better.

Renaissance Floral played a huge role in making our wedding magical. When I originally sat down for a consultation with David, it didn't take me long to realize he would be the one to create the ambiance for our wedding. He immediately identified my style -- beautiful and classic, but simple. He worked within my budget, offering suggestions that fit us perfectly, never taking away from the magic of what we all wanted to create.

And he delivered in a way I could never have imagined. Our winter reception was just incredible -- full of such magic with white flowers and candles for days. I absolutely adored how each centerpiece was different and its own style of gorgeous. I loved the varying layers and heights of candles. The whole room was just washed in candlelight. And I can't possibly say enough about our gorgeous bouquets. Each was perfect.

The on-site staff was kind, helpful, and thorough, and they all did such a beautiful job creating the space. David has found an incredible team to help him realize his vision. I highly recommend these incredible people!

I can't say enough good things about David and his shop and staff at Renaissance Floral! He is great to work with, we had a consultation at the shop as well as communicated via email and had a final meeting and the end result was spectacular! The flowers were exactly as I'd hoped, it was a dream! David set the dining room at the Lake Placid Lodge perfectly with beautiful center pieces and many candles, it was so lovely. He had a great idea to display the glass ornaments my husband made on this amazing tree that he brought up to the lodge. He made wrist corsages for the ladies with pearl bands, they were perfect. He worked creatively within my budget which was extremely thoughtful and helpful! I highly recommend David and Renaissance Floral!

I don't even know where to start. When we walked into our tent for entrances it was like walking into a dream.

David and I worked together down to the wire to make sure everything was all set for the wedding. We had to bring in everything to our venue and David was our project manager, event designer and florist all in one. He coordinated with Clifton Park Rentals and Cooperstown Event Rentals and so many other vendors, he's a saint.

Not only did he create a stunning tent, but he's so wonderful to just chat with. I miss being one of his brides because I want a reason to just call him up and bug him!

He turned our garden venue which can easily read as rustic into a magical mid summers night garden. The lighting in the tent was perfection. The garlands on the long tables were gorgeous. The balancing and tiering of all the votives and tapers and floating candles was flawless. At the end of the night I was just walking around the tent saying how I didn't want to leave!

My bouquet was so beautiful, the girls bouquets were also perfect. He even created baskets for our flower grandmothers.

There are seriously not enough words for me to truly convey how wonderful it was to work with David and his team and how perfect the product they deliver is, you just have to find out for yourself! I wish I could do it all over again! And not change a single thing.

"Every little thing he does is magic!" That should be the slogan for Davidmichael Schmidt at renaissance floral design. His staff is amaz! Loved working with him and Cathy as well as the design team. We interviewed several florists but after meeting with David we felt we had a secret weapon for our day.
David helps us find the perfect venders and created exactly what we wanted for our family and friends. He not only provided stunning arrangements but he also arranged all our rentals and specialty linen. My patents were shocked when they stopped by earlier in the day and saw David and his team steaming all the linens and making sure every detail was perfect as the flowers were coming into the space. He even designed our lighting to enhance every detail of the room and our guests still can't stop talking about it.
We live in Nyc and are both in the design and publishing business. Many of our friends have recently been married and they all wish they had known about DMS and his team.
We are so excited that our dearest friends will be using him next year for their celebration which is four hours from Albany.

Oh David Michael! He Truly is a wedding and event wizard! He made my wedding look like a fairytale! He is beyond one of the most fun, creative and easiest people to work with and he will work with any budget. ( I might also add he is very patient) He was able to transform our wedding venue into the most romantic, gorgeous, mystical, reception ever. The wedding would not have been what it was without him. I have affectionately nicknamed David Michael Schmidt of Renaissance Floral Design our wedding wizard. With his magic & talent he created an absolutely stunning winter wonderland wedding for me & my husband, Tom. We couldn't have been any more impressed by what he made possible, & throughout the whole process we felt like we had a friend & teammate working to pull off our vision. We didn't get in touch with David until about 2 months before the wedding but he took the tight timeline in stride & was so efficient in communication. My hubby & I live in China but I'm from NY & he's from England & our wedding was in Vermont. Despite the time difference/distance, we never felt far from the incredible service David & his team provide. He's a genuine genius & genie that made more than 3 of our wishes come true. The level of detail that David makes possible to get down to was so appreciated by me as a fairly ridiculous perfectionist. Getting super granular on our very first phone call put me at ease even though I was standing in the corner of a restaurant in China. He's an absolute delight to work with & every bride should be so lucky as to have his vision, help & expertise. I had tears in my eyes when he revealed the room for our reception. Everything was perfect... from the linens, to the flower arrangements, to the jaw-droppingly beautiful tree his staff had display all the name cards for seating guests. David is and his team are all just the best kind of people to surround yourself with on a special day. We didn't get the pleasure of meeting David or visiting his gorgeous store & showroom until 4 days before our wedding. We left his store with a bunch of purchases... David’s creations are truly breathtaking! He was able to turn my random Pinterest posts into an absolutely amazing cohesive event. The centerpieces, birch logs for the escort cards, and bouquets were more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I was truly in awe when I walked into the ballroom and saw what David and his team had created! Staff at the Country Club where we held our wedding even commented how beautiful our centerpieces were! David and his team were responsive to my emails and questions and willing to work within my established budget. I was impressed with the personal attention David provided my wedding, even knowing that he had larger weddings happening during our wedding weekend. He sent me texts the day before the wedding to show me pictures of the bouquets and centerpieces as they were being put together. He even contacted me the day after the wedding, as he wanted to ensure we were happy with everything. I would strongly recommend David and his Renaissance Floral Design team to any bride!

David Michael Schmidt is simply the best. Calling him a florist is a disservice to everything he does. He is a designer. He is an artist. He is a miracle worker. And, to top it all off, he is such a wonderful person. We wanted him at our wedding as a guest, not but we needed him to make everything beyond perfect!

We chose the Lake Placid Lodge because it is someplace that is near and dear to our hearts. It is our home away from home and where we got engaged. Given how much we love it, our original plan was to go understated with the flowers. But then we thought that since we would be there with our guests for a few days before the big day, we wanted to set the wedding day apart from everything else. We wanted the entire place to be something special that night. And David delivered beyond our wildest expectations. He captured everything we loved about the place and kicked it up 20 notches! We had so much faith in his artistic design that we left much of it to his discretion. We wanted to be surprised just like everyone else.

When we first saw what he had done, I was literally brought to tears it was so beautiful. The details were stunning. He got my favorite flowers even though they were completely out of season. It was so classy and so beautiful that people are still talking about everything he did. He put together works of art on each table and had one stunning centerpiece arrangement that followed the wedding around the many venues at the Lodge throughout the night. It was breathtaking.

David was always super responsive, even when we knew he had many events in the prime of wedding season. He was always transparent about everything and what it would cost, and talked us out of things that would have made him more money when he didn't think it fit with his design. He was right every time.

We look forward to working with David for many years to come. You must have him be part of your celebration. He will blow you away!

We cannot thank David and his team enough for the wonderful job they did at our wedding. David is a true professional and talent. He made our vision of "French Country Wedding" come to life. I had full trust in David from the very first phone call. His flowers arrangements were so gorgeous. I was so excited when he brought them into my suite while getting ready. David also worked with our budget and was very understanding. Working with David and his team was wonderful. My fiancé and I knew we wanted to work with him from the moment we saw his work on local photography blogs. He was able to take our ideas and refine them and make everything work beautifully. He also took the lead on coordinating with other vendors on rentals, which made things much easier for us. I believe he is one of the few professionals who would agree to create the escort card tree we had envisioned, it was definitely a large task and he exceeded our expectations and got many many compliments from our guests. He was able to work with our budget and make minor changes that kept us in our range. Every time I spoke with him, I felt great about our floral and event design choice. I also loved that he involved my fiancé, so both our voices were heard. When I walked into the Hall of Springs, I was blown away and the gorgeous decor and lighting made it a truly magical night. I only wish I could have thanked him in person on my wedding day.

David and the team at Renaissance Floral Design are the most amazing wedding design team ever. My mother likes to call David the "wedding wizard" and she is absolutely correct.

Renaissance cares about every miniscule detail of wedding design, from the gorgeous floral arrangements to the details on the table linens. Nothing is overlooked and everything is beautiful.

I remember that I once casually mentioned to David that I loved the look of strung-up lights and when I walked into my venue for the rehearsal, David had lit the inside of the entire building with "fairy lights."

I knew the moment I began the planning process that I needed Renaissance to be a part of my wedding. David was able to transform my random, half-formed thoughts about the wedding design into the most beautiful event I have ever had the privilege of attending.

Everything I asked for was perfect and everything that I left to David was more than I ever could have imagined. This team takes amazing pride in their work and will climb mountains to make sure that the wedding day is extraordinary.

Renaissance put together more beautiful arrangements and bouquets than we could imagine. My fiancé and I didn't have a clear vision for what we wanted and only had 1 picture and a Pinterest board for inspiration. David took these and ran with them, creating bouquets and arrangements that we were thrilled with. We were also trying to be mindful of our budget and David worked with us to make sure we stayed within our means. We highly recommend David and his team and couldn't be happier with their service!

When you want all of your wedding fantasies to come true, when you want to walk into your reception and feel like you can barely breathe because the room is so beautiful, call David Michael Schmidt at Renaissance. From a warm and fun filled southwestern barbecue rehearsal dinner held in an old barn, to an outdoor ceremony of elegant simplicity, to a reception ballroom that could only be described as dazzling, Mr. Schmidt's design concepts were spot on. I so look forward to planning future events with this creative force. (And as a bonus, he's a really nice guy.)

The second my mother showed me the Renaissance Floral Design website I was in love. If you lay eyes on ANY of David Michael Schmidt's past events you know you can't go wrong in hiring him for your own! The day I saw his website we called immediately to set up an in person appointment, he was very flexible meeting us on a Saturday even with his busy schedule. After my husband and I talked to David for 15 minutes I was even more determined to hire him! You can tell immediately that he is a creative person and once he started talking about our wedding and what he would recommend based on what we told him I could just see the wheels in his head turning and the idea coming to life. We hired him that day! David was the one who really brought our dream to life. And we didn't give him that much direction! I don't know anything about flowers and David is someone you can 100% trust and know that no matter what he is going to make everything beautiful. We even had him do our rehearsal dinner flowers and decor! It was so exciting to get sneak peaks of the flowers for the weekend when he was arranging them and to see them in person was just magical. Unfortunately I got sick and didn't make it for the reception room reveal but we will be hiring David again for an anniversary party in the future so we can have that special moment with him!!! My bouquet was incredible, and per our request each bridesmaid had a slightly different bouquet and it just gave everything such a wonderful feel. And the reception room was breathtaking. I could go on and on about every detail because everything was incredible but I will say that David is truly someone you want to have on your team at your wedding. Whether you have no clue what you want or have a very strong idea he is your guy. He is one of the most creative people and isn't afraid to think outside the box! If you don't hire Renaissance Floral Design you are making a mistake!!!!

David and his team did a fabulous job making our wedding at the Inn at Erlowest absolutely spectacular!!! Every last detail was thought out and we received so many compliments on our flowers. When I saw my bridal bouquet, it was everything that I ever wanted! I almost cried- David listened to all the details that I wanted and made it all come together beautifully. Choose David and his team if you want to be completely satisfied on your big day!

Where do I even begin with David Michael Schmidt and Renaissance Floral Design? Truthfully, nothing that I say in this review will do him justice, but I will do my best. My husband (still so weird saying that!!) and I just got back from our honeymoon and I have to say, one of the first things I wanted to do when I returned to New York was write a review for David and Renaissance Floral Design.

I will start by saying that I'm not someone who has dreamed of my wedding since I was five. I honestly knew nothing about flowers and they were probably one of the lower items on the totem pole of things I cared about. That was, until I met David. Our first meeting went a little something like this... "I have no idea what I want and I'm not sure if I have a vision. Here are all the things that I hate and some of the things I like. Can you work with that?" The answer was yes, and more than that, he GOT me. Like, got me, got me and it showed throughout the entire process.

He was responsive, kind, and more than that, he has such a passion for what he does which is why he is one of the best people in this business. The funny thing is, I had such a hard time calling him "my florist" because he is so much more than that. David is a brilliant visionary, and I am SO grateful that I had the chance to work with him. Nearly three weeks later, people are still talking about our wedding and that it was the most beautiful, elegant, and romantic wedding they've ever seen. Funny enough, that's exactly what we were going for and I owe most of that to David and his team at Renaissance.

David was one of the best decisions I made throughout the planning process (other than marrying my fabulous husband, of course) and when I entered our reception room for the first time, it literally took my breath away. I honestly wish that feeling for each and everyone of you future brides.

All I can say about Renaissance Floral Design is WOW!!!!! David Michael is an absolute mastermind and a joy to work with...he was always quick to respond to emails and messages and he truly has a gift when it comes to weddings...he lives up to his name as an "event visionary". We had family and friends that came from all over the world...and each one commented on how gorgeous the flowers and "special touches" were at our wedding...he is worth every cent!!!!! He made our wedding a day that we will NEVER forget...it was all that we dreamed it would be and MORE!!!! First class business all the way around...we feel blessed that our paths crossed :)

I think I have reciewed Renaissance before but planning my wedding with David Michael Schmidt was beyond amazing so I find it important to do it again. He makes me wish I could get married again so I can call him to talk about my wedding or simply anything. I look forward to kids and showers so I can contact him and his amazing staff again. Their work is beyond amazing. My wedding was amazing and hugely due to our amazing decor. He is NOT a florist but a visonary. Love the wedding god!

Our daughter's dream wedding came true this summer at the Sagamore Resort on Lake George, NY. The gorgeous venue itself can stand alone but it was made spectacularly beautiful by the flowers, the linens, lighting and decorations provided through Renaissance Floral Design in Albany, NY, with David Michael Schmidt at the helm. David has an exquisite eye for color and detail and his experience as an event designer and coordinator is extraordinary. The terrace was absolutely shimmering. He had previously handled many events at the Sagamore, which enabled seamless communication between his staff, the vendors and resort personnel. Most importantly, David was personally terrific to work with. He was sensitive to our taste and budget and had many helpful ideas and recommendations. He was always available and made us feel comfortable. It was a pleasure to have had the good fortune to work with him. Our daughter's special day will remain a beautiful memory because of David's magical vision.

David was attentive and accommodating. He made our wedding planning process a pleasure. He did so much more than just helping us pick our gorgeous floral arrangements and decor -- he served as a secondary wedding planner for me and my family! He had fantastic ideas and took the time to meet with us on several occasions to work out all of the details, and he always made us feel like we were his number one priority. Everyone was blown away by our wedding day flowers and decor -- everything we discussed was there, but it was even more beautiful than any of us could have imagined!

David and his team are AMAZING! I literally showed him 1 picture of a bouquet I loved and told him I wanted the look of our wedding to be inspired from it. He absolutely outdid my wildest expectations. Every step of the planning process was fun and stress free. The final result was magnificent. I was a bit hesitant to meet with David Michael at first because so much of what he does seems to be for huge formal venues, and we were having a 70 person wedding up in Lake Placid. However, one of my friends was using him and thought he was fantastic, so I decided to get in touch. I’m so glad I did because everything he did was just beautiful! The flowers were gorgeous and elegant while still fitting in perfectly with our lodge venue. I was also a bit concerned that given the lavishness of some of his weddings that my budget might be too small from him - well that couldn't have been further from the truth. He was very conscious of our budget and gave us options that enabled us to have the flowers we wanted at our price point. Even the items we didn't discuss much turned out perfectly – details like the flowers on the cake and the flowers for our dog's collar (she was our flower girl) – were beautifully done. Highly recommend!

I was planning a wedding at Lake George from Saint Louis, MO. This was stressful for many reasons, but mainly because I wasn't very familiar with the area and didn't have the chance to make it up to NY until well into my planning process. I was working full time and in the middle of working on my masters degree and didn't have time to put in the time and effort I would have liked to make my dream wedding a reality. David and his team at Renaissance took the little direction I gave them on my vision for the wedding and were able to create an absolutely stunning event that was spot on to what I wanted. David takes the time to get to know the client become familiar with their personality. I was so at ease the morning of my wedding. I felt completely confident in David's suggestions and choices. He definitely knows what he is talking about. I All of my wedding guests were commenting on the amazing floral arrangements and overall design of the ceremony and reception.

The flowers transformed the room and transformed the wedding; the outside ceremony was enhanced by David's vision which did not compete with the beauty of the site; the so so reception room was transformed into the grandest and most beautiful venue ever by the flowers. The attention to detail and freshness of the flowers was without equal. I don't think any florist in the area could have pulled this off for us except renaissance.

The key with working with Renaissance Floral Design (David) was the confidence he demonstrated at all times….his professionalism, creativity and attention to every detail was unparalleled. I should also note, I really appreciated how David calmed me with his sense of humor! Anyway, we had several of our guests comment on how stunning the flowers were and the overall design. For this, Tom and I are now credited with having the best wedding among our guest and harsh critic friends and you had a lot to do with it. As you know, Jessi and Tommy had a “Picture Perfect” day and so many of these images showcase your work. I popped in unannounced to Rennaissance Floral Design visiting from my home in Toronto to Albany where my daughter was getting married at the Carey Conference Centre. As my daughter lives in Kansas, and I am in Canada, it was stressful not knowing the vendors we would be dealing with.

I must admit I am a "flower snob". When I choose flowers as gifts, I always go directly to the florist and hand pick each stem. I like unique flowers with interesting greenery and always have compliments on my choices.

David, while very busy, welcomed us warmly and took the time to show us an on line photo book of some of the beautiful floral designs that he had created, even though he had appointments set up on this busy day. It was clear right away that Renaissance was that special place that we had been looking for, creating first class floral designs.

As soon as we returned home, we emailed our intent to work with David, and we received a prompt and friendly response from Sarah, who was helpful in many ways.

The day of the wedding, when I saw the floral pieces that we would be using at our outdoor wedding, they were spectacular and certainly exceeded my expectations.

I would highly recommend Renaissance Floral Design to anyone, particularly to those who can appreciate superior quality.

There is no one else that could have created the beauty that David and his team developed for my wedding day. We came to David six weeks before my daughter's wedding after realizing our previous florist wasn't understanding the vision. As far as I am concerned, David is THE ONLY florist to use in the Capital District. We met with David for one hour -- he is an excellent listener. He really wants to give you your vision -- not impose his vision on you. He stayed within our budget and in that hour, we knew we did not have to worry about flowers. David got it. He is the ultimate professional and a master at his craft. He is personable and so easy to work with. My daughter wanted lilacs at the end of May--a pretty hard thing to do. David filled the church and venue with lilacs in stunning designs that were exactly what my daughter had envisioned. He is absolutely the best vendor we dealt with and I would recommend any bride simply go to Renaissance and rest assured David will give you the flowers you dream of for your wedding.

We knew Renaissance by reputation so we didn't feel the need to ask for anything specific, we just told David the look we were going for. On the wedding day the floral designs were nothing short of spectacular. Each one was fresh, creative and original. Many, many guests raved about the beauty of the flowers. Beyond amazing! We had contracted with another florist and they just did not understand what we wanted. We needed help bringing our wedding ideas together and we thought it may never happen. Our venue had suggested that we reach out to Renaissance and we are so glad we did! They responded instantly when we contacted them from their website. Met with us the same week. He thought of every detail right down to hand delivering a special bouquet of my favorite flowers the day of the wedding with a note from my soon-to-be husband. He knew what would work best with the venue we chose and had good relationships with our other vendors. We didn't have to sweat the details even though we are detail people. We couldn't have done it without him. Everyone should have such a great partner when they're planning their wedding.

David Michael Schmidt and his team at Renaissance Floral Design did an amazing job providing the flowers and rentals for the design of our wedding. David and his team far-and-away exceeded every expectation my husband and I had for our wedding (which is saying quite a lot based on how high our expectations were). David is an artist who turns vision into beautiful reality.

Like many brides, when I first met with David I brought many magazine clippings, blog posting and pinterest boards. From this collection of clippings David focused in on the key elements I was looking for in the design of our flowers and reception room. He took a great deal of time to discussing the nuances of what I wanted and from there put together an easy to follow proposal for the flowers, linens, and various mercury glass centerpieces needed to make our dream a reality.

David met with us several times before our wedding day each time honing in on the design, always flexible to make any changes I requested as we got closer to the wedding. I was a very involved bride, who wanted input on every single detail for our wedding, and David was gracious to include me on every single detail down to specific buds and jewels used in our personal flower arrangements. However, for the brides out there who are more “hands off” he would be a great fit to take care of everything with minimum input.

The day of the wedding David made sure that I was completely satisfied with the entire design. He worked wonderfully with our other vendors, changing his schedule based on others' changing schedules. The finished product of David's hard work was nothing short of breathtaking. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the room looked. David's enthusiasm for what he does and his passion for design is infectious and wonderful to be around. The value of the beauty that he adds to wedding is unmatched and will surely leave a lasting impact on every wedding he designs.

David is wonderful! When I was looking for a florist for our wedding, David was the first person I called after reading his reviews and I am so happy I did. After our first initial conversation, I knew right away that he was the one for us. He is so nice and friendly. He responds to phone calls and emails quickly and he provided advice to me on other questions I had that had absolutely nothing to do with flowers or decor! He understood our vision for our color scheme, what we were thinking in regards to the feel/vibe of the day and really listened to what was important to us. We talked about flowers for the boutonnieres and all I could say was "we would like something hunter-worthy" and David got it. The boutonnieres were awesome!! They were perfect!! On the day of our wedding, everything was beautiful! He made a last minute change on the linens (due to availability and size and he checked with me to make sure it was ok) and the cocktail hour area and reception room looked beautiful! From the chairs, linens, candles, centerpieces, etc. - everything was perfect! Our flowers were gorgeous! The colors were amazing (exactly what we talked about) and throughout the entire night, so many of the guests were remarking about how beautiful everything was! David was truly great to work with and I highly recommend him to any future bride!

David Michael Schmidt is the best around. He's not just a florist but he's an event designer. Our experience with him was wonderful. I have to admit, I was hesitant to call him when we were searching for florists for our wedding because I was aware of the work that he does and was concerned our event wouldn't be "big" enough for him. Go to his website and check out some of the amazing events he has crafted and you'll see what i mean (www.renaissancefloraldesign.com). But as soon as I sent an email inquiring as to his availability I immediately received a phone call from his assistant and then actually spoke to David and we setup a time to meet right away. He spent over 2 hours with my fiancé and I at our first meeting and we hadn't even signed a contract with him. That sealed the deal for me and I knew I had to work with him. The great thing about David is he has such a vast repertoire of events to his name that you can pick and choose items that other people have utilized and still make it look original and like your own. With Renaissance, you can either craft the whole thing yourself or rely on David to come up with something amazing. On my wedding day, I couldn't wait to get to the reception to see what David had put together. Our venue was a beautiful historical site that normally most people don't glam up because it's naturally beautiful. David just took it to a whole other level and it truly was a sight to see. Additionally, I wanted peonies for my wedding bouquet. Getting married in November, they are out of season and very hard to come by and David was upfront with me and said they would be tough to get. Well in the morning of my wedding when I was getting ready, I received a text message picture of a beautiful bouquet of peonies and they were on their way!! David and Renaissance Floral Design is a class act and I am so honored to have had him design my wedding. He is worth every penny and I would use him again in a heartbeat!

David Michael Schmidt Design has been a fabulous asset and friend to the Albany Institute of History & Art. Our galas and special events are critical to our success as an institution, and David has acted as a true visionary, designer, producer and problem solver, allowing our events stand out among the hundreds hosted by area non-profits. No challenge is too big and no detail is too small for David’s solutions. David’s artistic sense is brilliant; his ideas, resources and energy are unrivaled. I also love his can-do attitude. Who else, but David, on the eve of our major gala would agree to produce 300 cards for our dining tables? I am grateful David is on our team! I wanted my wedding to be like no other and David Michael Schmidt not only delivered he made our dreams come true. Our guests are still talking about the wedding. He built our event from the ground up. He styled every detail and created a room from a section of grass on the property we selected to a ballroom I doubt will ever exist again. David you guided us every step of the way and on the points we felt we knew better. We should have listened. You still made it perfect but we made it harder on you by not listening. Your professionalism is off the charts and we have no idea why you are not in NYC or Hollywood because you could blow any designer away.
We also want to say that David helped us pick the perfect venders for every aspect of our event.
The only issue we (had( was that because we were out if town it made it tricky to meet with him due to his busy schedule. That said I would recommend Renaissance floral design 110% When we did meet with him he was totally in tune with our needs. during the week of our wedding he was on the property for 7 days hyper focused on every detail and was on top of every vender we hired making sure everything was perfect.
