Perfect Night
We worked mainly with Tony, and he was absolutely wonderful. He answered our calls anytime we reached out, offered genuinely helpful suggestions, and clearly explained all requirements and pricing.
Tony went above and beyond to make our day feel seamless. He coordinated family photos so efficiently, helped us look our best by keeping drinks out of shots, and adjusted the temperature right away when we asked. Everything on the day of the event happened exactly as promised, which gave us so much peace of mind. -

Wedding reception
We had our wedding reception at the Renaissance, and we truly had the most amazing experience. Weddings can be stressful, but Betty and Tony were so kind, patient, and understanding throughout the entire planning process. They made everything feel easier.
From the photographers, to the staff, the DJ (who read the room SO well), the bar, the food, and the cake—everything was absolutely perfect. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how beautiful and seamless everything was. I keep telling everyone I wish I could go back and relive it.
We also decided to extend our party from 4 to 6 hours, and let me tell you… it was the best decision for our Latino families. The vibes were immaculate, and the energy never stopped.
Thank you to everyone at the Renaissance for giving us the most special, care-free wedding day. I’d 10/10 recommend them to any couple looking for a dream reception experience. -

Great Experience!
The venue was very accommodating and helped every step of the way. The prices were reasonable and affordable for the services. If there was something we needed to add, the venue had options of vendors they work with to keep the communication lines open. If you have limited time or energy to coordinate all the details, this is your best option! -

Very beautiful venue, we loved it
We had an amazing wedding reception at Renaissance Ballrooms. The florals and decorations were beautiful. You can choose your theme and color lighting, everything was very personalized and turned out wonderfully. The food was great, the DJ was awesome, and we loved the piano in the reception hall we used during the cocktail hour. Tony the wedding photographer also came to the church ceremony and Coral Gables entrance area to take couples'/family/bridal party photos for a very reasonable price. Our only minor critique was that spacing other events between ours would have been preferred since they sometimes have multiple events occurring at the same time. Other than that we're grateful for everything and our wedding exceeded our expectations!! We definitely will recommend to other couples!-

Best venue in Miami!
This place is magnificent all around. I just had my wedding here and I would recommend them to anyone. The entire experience was smooth and stress free. The event itself came out beautiful. Beyond expectations. I was literally blown away. I did everything in-house and it was the best decision ever. The food and cake were delicious. The staff was AMAZING! All of my guests were delighted by how attentive everyone was. I could go on and on about how great everything was. Not a single complaint or concern. They made our special day one of the best days of our lives and for that they deserve all the praise in the world. -

Great venue and team!
Great venue and team. Had to re-schedule due to COVID and they worked with us. Event ended up being in 05/2021. They exceeded my expectations. Tony was an amazing photographer (pics came out beautiful 🤩) and helped me plan everything. His mom (I don’t remember her name now) was amazing too on the day prior and day of. My only regret was not getting their videographer Bc mine was poop lol! Flowers were beautiful, food was great, cake was yummy. I’d recommend the all inclusive package since it’s pretty stress free. Staff was friendly and accommodating.-

Highly recommend
If you are looking for the PERFECT VENUE, look no further!!!! This past weekend was MAGICAL!!!
Finding the "Perfect Venue" for every woman's MOST special day could be a very stressful task. But for us it was definitely a no brainer, I went to the place that 31 years ago made my PERFECT Wedding Day!!! I have done from my wedding, baby showers, first birthday parties, and now my daughter's wedding and every single time they delivered an AMAZING AND UNFORGETTABLE EVENT. From food, decor, flowers, photos, video, service, I promise they sure don't disappoint. Rose, Betty, Nancy, Carmen, and Tony my family is forever grateful for an AMAZING evening!
To EVERYONE from the staff at Renaissance Ballrooms my most heartfelt thanks for making the vision of our daughter's wedding day a reality!!! Can't wait to see the video and professional photos. Looking forward to many more parties with you guys. Highly recommend them!!!!
Please Note: The images shared below are not professional images, they were taken by guests of our reception, but my daughter had her engagement shoot with Tony from Renaissance and the images were AMAZING!!!! 💕-

Amazing!
We booked Renaissance Catering Company to cater our wedding at Thalatta Estates on a March 30th, 2019 & they went above & beyond for our wedding. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding. Rosy & her team know exactly what they’re doing when it comes to providing the best possible service to their bride & groom. Our guests still to this day call us to tell us how great the food was, thank you Renaissance & Rosy for our dream wedding! -

Amazing experience!
Renaissance at the Gables and it’s owner, Rose, did an AMAZING job with our wedding. We had our wedding reception at another venue but hired the Renaissance for our flowers and decoration. The flower arrangements were STUNNING. The prices were also very reasonable, something very difficult to find in Miami. We are very grateful to them for making our day so special! -

I had my son’s wedding reception last Saturday and everything was great. The location was 8th and 59th. Betty took care of everything and was great. I got a package that included the flowers, photos and dj. Nancy did beautiful flowers. Tony was a very nice photographer and Osvaldo the dj played all the requested music. The place was beautifully decorated and everybody had a great time. Thank you, Martha -

Renaissance was the perfect reception venue and provided top notch service. The food, open bar, music and ballrooms were exquisite. Tony by far was very accommodating, his hospitality was impeccable, and the price was very affordable. Not to mention that Renaissance also handled my floral needs and they were exquisite!! I highly recommend Renaissance at the Gables for any event!! -

The customer service was excellent, to the extent that we decided to write this review. We opted for having the reception and ceremony at the Renaissance at the Gables on New Year’s Eve. The lighting was romantic; the cylinder orchid flower arrangements were amazing; the decorations were beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The bathrooms were impeccably clean. The reception and ceremony were separated by these beautiful, white, tasteful curtains. The food was exactly what we wanted. We decided on the London Broil for the meal. I am a very busy person and Tony (from the Renaissance) really helped in creating a wonderful, stress-free experience. It is great instead of individually dealing with vendors; the venue takes care of coordinating it. It allowed me to actually enjoy my wedding and created very epic memories. Tony helped us every step of the way and went beyond our expectations. Thank you Tony and Renaissance at the Gables! -

Great wedding venue and it's been touched up recently. I did my wedding there a few years ago and was happy. We recently had my cousins wedding there after their remodel and it looks super nice! They switched out carpet, painted and did a few other things since I had my wedding. Would recommend! -

I VISITED THIS LOCATION LAST NOVEMBER AS A POSSIBLE VENUE FOR MY WEDDING RECEPTION AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. THE STAFF WAS VERY RESPONSIVE FROM THE INITIAL MEETING UP TO THE DAY OF THE RECEPTION. THE DECORATIONS AND FLOWERS WERE BEAUTIFULLY DONE. THE FOOD AND CAKE WERE DELICIOUS. I HAD A VERY SMALL RECEPTION, BUT I FEEL THEY PUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF EFFORT INTO MY SMALL EVENT THAT THEY WOULD HAVE INTO A MUCH LARGER EVENT. EVERYONE I CAME IN CONTACT WITH AT THIS COMPANY WAS GREAT AND VERY HELPFUL. PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS VENUE IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA. THEY DEFINITELY PROVIDE GREAT ALL INCLUSIVE SERVICES FOR THE PRICE. -

We have one word for Rose Marie and the folks at Renaissance: wonderful. We had our wedding at a private location on Key Biscayne and had them cater it. They are a one-stop shop, which was perfect because my fiancé and I were not prepared to do much ourselves. Also, they were very reasonably priced, and after seeing how beautiful everything was at the wedding and the quality of the table decorations, flowers, lighting, food, I can definitely say we got a huge bang for our buck.
Rose Marie runs the show, and it's a family business. They work extra hard to make everything perfect because this is their livelihood, and there is a lot of attention to detail. Rosie is down to earth, funny, and loud but in an endearing way. She truly loves what she does and she treated me like a daughter, not a client. We got the beautiful Rolls Royce pick up, and got married on the beach, and it was so pretty the way they set it up... it was really beautiful! My bouquet was gorgeous, as were the other flowers. Rosie's flower person was on hand to help put the boutonnieres on the men, help hold up my train as I approached the beach, she was so nice.
The reception room was beautifully set up. The tablecovers, chairs, chargers, plates, lighting... everything was awesome. The cakes (we had two) were amazing, Rose and her people were super helpful, there's too much to cover. I wrote a longer review on Yelp if you're interested. -

First of all, if you are getting married, it is the most important day of your life, but regardless of what happens or doesn't happen you have to stay optimistic and be grateful to be surrounded by your friends and family. The first thing you have to consider is your budget. If money is not an issue, then you probably wouldn't come here, but for any and everyone else who has an actual budget, THIS IS THE PLACE!!! Don't bother any where else. It is truly a one stop shop, the staff is very helpful and the end result is truly what you are promised. I have read other people's reviews before writing my own, and I can tell you that while other individuals may have had a bad experience with one employee or another, I personally didn't have any issues. People seem to forget that even the employees of Renaissance at the Gables are human, and they are planning several other events. They are really trying to help you have a perfect event, mistakes will occur no matter how much you are paying. Normally you get what you pay for. Here at Renaissance, you get the best service AND outcome possible in MIAMI for what you are paying. I loved everything about my day and I loved that they let me bring my favors and a few personal touches to decorate, making my day EXACTLY what I had dreamed and planned. My only complaint about that day has nothing to do with Renaissance......It felt like 20 minutes!!!!!!! and it was 5 hours! So with that being said, regardless of where you host your wedding, enjoy every second, because it will be over in the blink of an eye. All that dreaming, planning, money etc. GONE..... so don't be a bridezilla and waste your time being mad and unpleasant. Be grateful to be marrying your love in the presence of God and your loved ones and just smile....You will be taking a lot of pics, so SMILE!!!! -

Great staff! Tony is very accommodating and always available to meet. The florist made the most beautiful flower arrangements, as I wanted them. All of my guests loved the food and the music was perfect! We had an amazing wedding without having to spend over the budget. Thank you to the Renaissance staff for your professionalism and beautiful decorations for our wedding. We were very happy with the results and it made our day an amazing one!

This was the perfect venue for my wedding! The look and feel of the venue was very warm and made you feel very comfortable. The professionalism of Tony was off the charts! He responded quickly to any concern I had and assisted in many things that went above and beyond his responsibility. A quick story: Our rehearsal had to be held late in the evening on the Thursday before the wedding and the venue closes at 6pm. However, they stayed open just so I could use the venue for our rehearsal and there was no question on the issue was going to be solved. I would recommend this venue to everyone!! -

Tony (from the office) and Juan Carlos (from catering) were extremely helpful and tried their best to accomplish all my wedding dreams! The food was great, especially the London Broil! The DJ (Charles) was hilarious, he really got the party started.... :0)
The ceremony set up was beautiful! We even got the 'red carpet treatment'.

They were fantastic to me. They came at a great time, 6 months before my wedding my original venue cancelled on me and in a frenzy I found renaissance. My wedding turned out to be so much better thanks to them. They gave me a package that included everything from the venue, food, cake to the small things like the invitations, champagne glasses, the ring bearers pillow, favors, etc. They were great at coordinating everything for me, it was like having a wedding planner and venue in one. Would recommend to everyone!!!! -

My wife and I got married at the Renaissance At The Gables this past weekend with a wedding that was literally planned in 2 months and I must say, EXCELLENT SERVICES.
Rosy did an amazing job in getting everything together for us. She was flexible with our needs and always provided an excellent service guiding us. We would schedule time with her and she was readily available for us when we got there which was crucial for us since we were from out of town. Tony the photographer arranged a photographer for us on the 11th hour with a great price based on our budget.
The day of the wedding, a few minor things needed attention, but nothing to jump about it. I got there ahead of time to ensure that everything was set up as I and my wife would expect and it was. The decorations and the flowers were beautiful. The lighting was great for us. We had our wedding on the Fontana Room and after the ceremony were moved next door with our guests while they prepare the place for the reception which was done in less than 30 minutes. Once the room was completed, our guests were moved back after a great bar service and hors d'oeuvres. The food was great. All of our guests raved about the food. We made the choice of the London Broil and the Scalloped Potatoes. The London Broil was perfect and the Scalloped Potatoes was a big hit for our guests; everyone wanted more.
We will for sure use Renaissance At The Gables for any future events. The care and attention to detail that we received and the great service and flexibility is worth the money. At the end of the day all it really matters is the outcome of the event and for us we had a great time and so did our guests. -

I used Renaissance Ballrooms for my wedding was very happy with the event :) I brought in photos of things I wanted and the staff really listened to what I wanted. They really did blow me away with the beautiful flower arrangements and bouquets. And the cake!! Omg, such a beautiful image I could not have planned it and better. -

Great venue. They have a lot of people who book with them, so it was difficult to received the personalized attention when meeting with them. It always felt rushed. Other than that my wedding day was amazing, they meet all of my needs. Everything came together beautifully. -

I had my wedding in June of this year 2015 (Renaissance at the Gables). I plan everything with almost a year in advance and the result was very good. We were happy with the place and the services they offered me as well as to the total cost, much lower than other places where they offered less choice. The decoration ceremony was very nice, as well as floral decorations on the tables and cake .. The music according to how I requested, as well as the menu. All guests were very happy and pleased throughout the event . The only bad thing was the pictures that were dark and the photographer of the place, very unprofessional, made many mistakes, delays, had to call an infinite number of times to ask for the products and always had a justification with a third person who had done what he had to do or personal problems that prevented him from fulfilling their work commitments. Anyway, I recommend the place. The owner (Rosa Maria) is very careful and responsible with all the details, but if you can hire another service of photography, will be much better than they have there, called "Eikon Event" and directed by Tony -

We had our wedding at Renaissance at the Gables and everything came out really nice.
There were a few areas of miscommunication where we thought something was included but ended up not being included in the end but other than that everything went well and the food was really good. -

Great value.
And the Event Coordinators were professional and always available to answer your questions.
Food and cake were very good.
Service at the reception was good.
The Head Waitress was ok, she was pushy for most of the wedding. And in a hurry to get us out at the end.

I used Renaissance Ballrooms for my wedding reception. The food was great and the ballroom was amazing. My only complaint would be that instead of plain white chair covers that I asked for the chair covers were a lace material. My guests of course did not know the difference so I guess it didn't hurt anyone! The DJ was very accommodating to requests from the guests.
My only other issue would be that most of the wait staff did not speak English. This made it difficult for some of our guests to communicate with the staff. -

When I was looking for a location I had a very tight budget and this place offered the best price. I knew that by choosing a place based on price other areas would be lacking. I was planning my wedding out of state so the planning process was a little tough as we communicated mainly by email. I felt that we had good communication and I had nothing to worry about. As we got closer to the date I began to feel a little un easy. I started working with Tony which was great but some of the things I had communicated previously were not told to him. For the Rehearsal we were rushed out at 6pm because the office closes at that time. I would have liked a little consideration and more flexibility. I wasn't impressed with the food but I understand that with my budget I got what I paid for. The staff never acknowledged me or even said congratulations. I understand I had a planner and they communicated with her directly but a simple congrats or smile would have been nice. The cake looked pretty and I heard tasted good though they did not serve it on the tables. They left them on the trays next to tables and told people to get it if they wanted which I found a little odd. I found out after the wedding that my dad had to pay for the toast as the head server told him it was not included in the package. This was communicated with my contact in emails as it was a concern of mine prior to the wedding. If it wasn't included why wasnt it discussed prior to the maid of honor speech like the day before. I understand people make mistakes and after I spoke to Rosa Maria once we got back from the honeymoon it was resolved but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Lastly was the issue with the Valet Parking. per my contract I was paying for all my guest and day of my guest were charged which was very unprofessional. Its a good location just know you get what you pay for. -

I must admit you do get a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to this venue. The food was delish, the decorum was amazing, and the service was superb. The only issue I had was with Rose showing the venue to common people while my wedding was taking place. I can remember standing in the hallway waiting to walk down the isle and her and a couple of people walking by and her showing the place off. I was so emlrassed because my guests saw the same throughout the evening as well. The venue should be closed on your special day. Think to yourself if you really want to subject yourself to this blatant disrespect before signing on the dotted line. -

The place is beautiful and a good value but the staff are extremely rude, I had to follow up 20 times, I had to hire my own DJ although it came with one because they wouldnt let me talk to him and they wouldnt credit me for not using him. If I had not been so persistent and meticulous it really could have been a mess so I recommend that if you want peace of mind that day - do not use this vendor. If you dont mind dealing with rude, unreliable people to get a great place at a great price, then this is the venue for you. If I could do it all over again I would not have used this venue, too much unneeded stress. -

My first word of advice: DON'T book this venue.
I originally wrote a 5pg review detailing pros and cons, but this space only allows a few lines, so I'll be brief: you get what you pay for.
The staff makes promises they don't keep, and even if you get it in writing they'll try to change it:
- We were promised help planning (not a wedding planner, but direction for next steps) and all we got was "you figure it out" at the end of each meeting
- Our contract stated guests had optional valet, but halfway through the year the venue changed their parking rules and tried to force us to change our contract and require valet for our guests - 1 MONTH before our wedding. We actually had to fight them to keep it as is, even though it's a legally binding contract and can't be changed without both parties in agreement.
- Food was okay. We were told when we signed the contract we could do a tasting 2-3 months before, but silly us didn't get it in writing, so they tried to back out when we asked to do it. We were "lucky" to try day old food the party yesterday served.
Also:
- They refuse to book appointments, meaning you need to plan a few hours to visit the office, and wait your turn. Then they rush you out, because there's a line of people waiting after you.
- They have a horrible "you should be honored to be our client" attitude rather than, you know, putting the customer first. The owner, Rosa, is the icing on the cake for all this. She was rude, always rushed us out, gave us a "how could you be so stupid" look every mtg, and had no problem speaking rudely about employees, other clients, or even US while we were waiting for her 3 feet away.
- The DJ was awful: music kept cutting out, didn't play half the songs requested, and didn't follow direction well.
If it wasn't for my amazing family, and especially wedding planner Michi's Weddings, our reception would not have gone as well as it did.
Pros: Scala Ballroom is beautiful, price IS hard to beat -

I was very disappointed in the venue. I paid for the photobooth and when I would contact them for the pictures I was lead on for 4-weeks. When I asked when the disk would be ready for pick up they responded "Oh you want an actual date?" Seriously?? I never had a walk through for my event and never was asked where I wanted the decorations placed. I would believe it was part of the walk through. Extremely unprofessional!!! I would of understood if it was free but we paid a lot of money for our wedding. (as everyone does).
If you like details and things done correctly, this is not the venue for you.Renaissance Ballrooms's reply:
When clients bring us decor to set out, We always go over it with them prior to the event as we did with you. We follow all the direction given by you the client to ensure everything is perfect. Your description of what happened is a bit vague and we would be more than happy to discuss this with you.
An important thing to mention about the decor setup, We do not charge for day of setup or force you to hire a day of coordinator. We do this for all our clients to help avoid the costs involved with all that.
In regards to the booth pictures, We provide booth pictures at the request of the client. I think the time frame was a misunderstanding when you mentioned about an actual date. Usually clients tell us I'm passing by lets say, Friday and we'd get everything ready for them.

After looking at many venues throughout Miami we settled on this venue because it included everything we needed for an affordable price. The venue includes open bar, cake, cocktail hour, black tie attire, and DJ services. I will say that the experience was sometimes good and sometimes bad.
The price was great but I wish I would have started looking and researching for venues way before hand so I would not have been in a tight situation to have to book somewhere so quickly. I really did think that the ballroom in room A at this location had beautiful looking chandeliers if this is what you like. The cake was tasty, the staff allowed us to drop stuff off early, they allowed us to bring in some of our own food from our culture and helped with set up. However, I did have a day of coordinator which I thought was necessary to have someone execute my vision and look out for my interest when I was not available.
The downside is that sometimes I felt like there was a hint of an attitude which perplexed me when you think about the money you are spending with the venue for one evening, I felt at times it appeared as if they were doing me a favor when in fact it was the opposite way around, I was bringing business. Also, I didn't like the fact that you don't get to communicate with the DJ until the week of the event on a Thursday, and the response time when you do contact the DJ is very unprofessional. After several failed attempts, my then finance had to rush to meet w/the DJ at noon to go over the music the day of the wedding and we were get married at the church at 3:30pm. Also, the rice was not good for the dinner selection. We had to pay for the tasting, and during this time I informed them that the rice was toooooo salty but during the reception, it was still tooooo salty. To offer guest more than 1 selection, there was an additional cost of $5 per person. There was a additional cost for adding more guest 2 weeks before the event date. I felt like they penalized you for every little thing so you were confined to some extent. To switch the cake flavor to anything other than vanilla was another fee, but the cake was good. I also didn't like the fact that there was service charge assessed on every thing, from the cost of the outside police that was mandatory to include to the renting of the chivary chairs and another fee on top of that.
As I stated, there were good and bad things about the venue, do your research first and ask as many questions up front for clarification. -

Me and my wife had the wedding here on September 15th. This was one of the many venues that we visited and at the first look everything was perfect. They gave us a good price and a lots of options and they were very polite and attentive until we've signed the contract. The bad par is: YOU READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING BUT ON THE LOCATION!!!! There are a lot of small prints that later will hit you. They gave you options and packages but they don't show you any specific pictures of how the table is gonna look (they justify it that every customer has different styles). They try to give you photo and video included in the package (that frankly didn't impressed me for the money also don't tell you how many hours are included), the DJ is included but you can make suggestions for the music and pray for the best. They offer limousine service also (a trusted company that they like to work with). the packages are taxed and the gratuity is added wich is normal for every restaurant (but the service SUCKS). all the extra services ( limousine for example is through a 3 party company) is one of the small prints that you may not pay attention. is the necessary hours plus tips for the driver plus tips for the event coordinator that made the call and arranged the limousine (so you are forced to tip twice for the same service) all this issues the coordinator told us was very clear when explaining the contract (we didn't understood this). after we played everything the wedding week came and I dropped all the decorations that we needed for the party with a detailed note and explanations (one of the most important the cake decoration was misplaced and on the wedding day we noticed that the cake had different ribbon). They told us there will be a event coordinator that night. We didn't saw it also nobody came to ask us if everything is ok. one guy from the other location got into the room, took a picture and left happy that we have fun and we didn't say anything. no negotiations!!!!!Renaissance Ballrooms's reply:
Thank you for the feedback. For the most part our contract explains when payments are due and all of our rules and regulations. The contract is only 2 pages and very clearly written to avoid confusion. We always review the contract's key points with clients when they're signing. Regarding photography/video, you didn't purchase that service from us but if you did, we would of explained in detail what you were signing up for and what was included as we offer multiple options. Our DJ's are very professional and most of the team has been with us for many years and get the job in keeping the party pumped! Limos are offered through our preferred vendors but you were never obligated to use them, we work with who we trust. All your decorations were put out and setup for you at no charge by our decor team, something other venues would of imposed a setup fee for and nothing was lost as you state in your review. All of our events are handled by our event planners for setup and the planning process, we don't promise day of coordinators for free. This is a service you can get from us or elsewhere. I would love to speak to you and clear up any miscommunications, my number is 305.445.1313 -Tony Elias -

Bad management and lack of organization
Not enough words to say or express how upset I am on how my wedding was handled in Renaissance Ballrooms!
I have been planning my wedding for a year and a half, I decided to go with Renaissance Ballrooms. Every appointment we had with Rose or Tony felt a bit rushed, you always had to make time around their schedule, they did not seem very accommodating. They would eat in front of the customers for lunch, Rose’s husband helped us order our wedding invitations and decided to have lunch right in front of us while we were completing the process. I have read other replies to reviews that have been left, and their answer is always that they feel comfortable around the customers, I am not your family or friends, am your customer and you should treat me as such. Especially for the amount of money your customers are paying! Every time another customer would call in while I was in my appointment, it was not uncommon for them to talk bad about that other customer in front of me or the other people in the room. But those are the minor things, which I decided to overlook thinking they would not mess up in my wedding. I should’ve use those small details as proof to the type of business they serve .
A year in advance I was confirmed by rose that two parties are not booked on the same day or time to avoid any issues. Two weeks before my wedding I called Renaissance ballrooms and I spoke to Mike, Mike informed me that there was going to be a 15‘s party held in the room next-door to mine. I told Mike that Rose had confirmed with me a year ago that would not happen. He simply told me that is not how they do things and to call Rose. Which I did. I called Rose but she was not there so I spoke to Tony, Tony told me I was being a worry wart and I had nothing to be concerned about. Tony called me a “cabezona” , which I found unprofessional. If I worry about an event especially one like my wedding I have every right in the world to do so. Tony then told me that the other party started an hour before mine and would end two hours before mine. Which it didn’t. Imagine your wedding guest walking into a lobby full of a Gatsby themed party.
Also Rose made us pay up front for our extra hour, but the 15s next door to my party paid for their extra hour right there same day of event. When my mom confronted Rose and Tony with this, they did not have any answers.
The 15‘s party was in the lobby, NO ONE from Renaissance ballroom started escorting them into their own reception room. My aunt and my father-in-law actually had to start telling the people from the other party that they could go on in because my party was starting to come in, not to mention on the way to the reception in the car my husband’s cousin, called us and informed us that no picture or seating chart was outside in the lobby so my guess would know where to go or if they were even in the right place. It wasn’t until my husband‘s cousin went to go find Mike to tell him to put something in the lobby for my guest to know and see.
The steak was hard, the waiters went around once with the appetizers and then place them on the bar which caused a huge line, the bartender had an attitude and everyone mentioned it to me about it after the party, the cake was cut after everyone started leaving and me and my mother-in-law had to tell the waiters to come cut the cake, and the waiters did not go around refilling water glasses, my guest had to go actually find the jug of water to refill it themselves.
My father, Sergio Alvarez, also left a review on Google, their response that I received a copy of the contract after every appointment was an utter lie. They never even offered to give me a copy the only copy of the contract they gave me was after I signed on the first day. We live in the United States, a country of service; if service is bad it is the customers right to complain and demand correction. I’m not complaining about how the event looked, or the time we had, I am complaining about the service and lack of organization . Whoever replied to his comment, I don’t know who wrote that reply, either Rose, Tony, or Mike, or whoever, how dare you? That just shows the type of business you are. You could care less about your customers all you care about is filling up your wallets.
And to answer your next question from that reply, if we wanted to pay for both rooms we would have; there was no need for us to do so. How dare you imply otherwise?
People, this is just proof to the type of business they serve and the type of people that they are.
Go to my reviews, I hardly ever leave any, only when service is really bad, so no excuse here. -

My husband and I began looking for reception venues back in May 2014 for our January 2015 wedding. I fell in love with the decor at the Renaissance Ballroom in Coral Gables. We went for one (and only one appt) with the owner of the company. I don't quite remember her name but she was very arrogant and spoke flamboyantly. Since my husband and I were on a budget, I tried to negotiate with her for a Sunday wedding during low wedding season. She did include some things such as chibbarri chairs and fondant cake, but after some talk, she turned around to my then fiance and said, "Boy, she is a real bitch, how do you put up with her?"
For people who know me, I am a very soft spoken and educated person. That was a deal breaker for me. We also witnessed other young couples coming in to "make payments" and were made to wait and treated in this arrogant manner. This is a family owned business and the nephew is the photographer, etc. He was also a bit arrogant but at least had the decency to not insult prospective customers! lol!
These people offered a 4 hour reception (to include cocktail) with different prices on different days. They also required a 100 person minimum, so regardless of how many guests showed up, you would be charged for 100 people.
We were able to find another venue that offered a 6 hour reception with the same price on all days and they were absolutely EXCEPTIONAL! They also allowed to give a final guest count one week prior to the wedding. Well, our wedding went from 100 people to 70! They were also very professional and the food & drinks were great, great, great!
I think that it is important that the Renaissance come to realize that they are not the only venue out there and that they are not living up to their competition!
I had even seen them on 'Four Weddings' show recently and when a guest asked what a certain food was, the waiter could not speak English!

We went with the Renaissance because we felt all other venues were wildly overpriced and didn't offer as many services. You definitely get what you pay for. When we went for our tasting the food was terribly over salted but thankfully was decent the night of our event. The DJ was the worst ever! He was playing on his phone the whole time not paying attention and repeating songs, leaving silent space between songs as he ran back to the DJ booth, and COMPLETELY ignored our playlist! The customer service SUCKS! It is hard to get anyone on the phone or to respond to an email and they tell you they are out of the office repeatedly or will be back in 15 minutes when they are sitting right there because they don't want to "deal with you". They informed me to place all table decorations in a box with a photo and label of that table describing what it should look like for them to set it up. We worked at this for hours. When my mother and family arrived with the decorations no one was to be found and they had to set up the entire venue BY THEMSELVES! It took them hours causing them to be late for our welcome party/rehearsal dinner!!! The bartender was horribly rude to my guests which reported this to me directly until she saw her tip jar filling up. DO NOT HIRE THIS PLACE! My best advice is to spend the extra money for a venue with impecable service standards. Check out their reviews on Yelp! -
