    Perfect venue

This is such a beautiful venue and extremely unique. The staff, especially Diana, are an absolute pleasure to work with and truly take the time to make sure your day turns out perfect. This venue comes with it all. We used linens, chairs, tables, dishes, candles, and even easels. Having so many things in one place made it extremely easy for us to set up and prepare without stress. I would 100% recommend this venue. We received so many compliments on the venue and the guests really enjoyed being somewhere with a bit of charm.

    Great experience with RCH

What a hidden gem! The Rainier Chapter House was perfect for our Capitol Hill wedding reception. It's very charming - the main floor has a vintage sitting room vibe with fancy couches, rugs, and a piano, and the upstairs is basically a blank canvas with perfect white walls and beautiful hardwood floors. This allows you to really do want you want with the space! We chose to keep it pretty simple with just some floral centerpieces and it worked wonderfully.

Peter and Karen were a joy to work with; they were excellent, quick communicators.

As far as wedding/reception venues go in Seattle, this one was really well priced. Loved that tables/chairs/dishes/flatware were included in the price. The only things that may present slight issues are that there is no parking onsite (although lots of parking options close-by), and that the space is maxed out at 160 guests. We had 115 and I think it'd be too crowded to go much higher than that. There's also no elevator for older folks, but there's not too many stairs and they aren't very steep.

If you're looking for an affordable, classy place to hold your wedding or other event in Seattle, be sure to check out the Rainier Chapter House. It was an absolute pleasure working with Peter who is so nice, accommodating and great at communicating - all wonderful things when you're stressing over your wedding. The Chapter House is beautiful, doesn't need much dressing up on the main floor, and includes a lot of things which will save you money: tables and chairs, linens, and pretty dining/drink ware. The top floor is spacious and a blank slate for you to decorate as you see fit; it also has a built-in bar and a stage perfect for a DJ or band. The bathrooms on the lower floor are inside a couple awesome lounge rooms (perfect for getting ready or stashing the good booze, wink wink), and there are restrooms and a bride's room on the top floor. Luckily this wasn't a problem for us, but be aware there is no elevator so if you have guests with mobility issues they will have trouble going anywhere beyond the main floor. They have a list of about 9 caterers to choose from, all of which sound awesome. We went with Pyramid Catering who were fantastic and have worked with the Chapter House many times. I don't have enough space to fawn over our experience with the Rainier Chapter House, but suffice it to say our day went perfectly and they provided a great, affordable venue for our wedding.

We had an incredible experiencing using the Rainier Chapter House as our wedding venue! Peter manages the house currently, and he is incredibly helpful, responsive, and generous with his time.
My husband and I planned our wedding from Australia, so we found this venue online. From pictures, it looked so beautiful but the pictures barely do it justice when you see it in person. When we viewed it for the first time, we knew within minutes we wanted to be married there.
The upstairs is a stunning white room with so much natural light from the many windows, and with light hardwood floors. The building itself has so much character and history, which our guests loved and thought highly of!
We found the price for the venue was absolutely reasonable as well. Wedding venues these days can be upwards of $6,000 so finding this place felt like a steal.

The hardest part about the venue was there was no on-site parking, but with Uber these days, that was a piece of cake to communicate ahead of time.

All our guests fell in love with the beautiful venue and keep raving about how perfect it was.
I highly recommend the Rainier Chapter House for a wedding! The purity of the white ballroom makes for incredible photos, and gives a beautiful blank canvas for any colors to really pop.

Thank you, Peter, and everyone at the House for making our wedding stunning and unforgettable!!

This was the perfect venue for our June 14th wedding. Right up the street from our apartment, and super close to the after party at our neighborhood bar, we couldn't have asked for a more local experience. The space itself is absolutely charming, inside and out. The front lawn and neighborhood were ideal for photos, and the circle drive out front made our vendors' lives that much easier.

Peter was instrumental in our event planning, and was readily accessible throughout the planning process. He was very straightforward, but cool as a cucumber as our anxiety levels climbed closer to the big day.

Logistics-wise, this venue came at a very competitive price (no sales tax) that included all the tables, chairs, silver, plates, glasses, LINENS, etc. This is pretty unheard of around Seattle, it turns out. Icing on the low-stress cake: only one event per day means the DAR is flexible to YOUR needs and YOUR schedule.

We recommend this venue to anyone looking for a local experience in their Capitol Hill neighborhood. It was a perfect fit for the DIY route, and was a great opportunity for our guests to see where we've lived for the last 5+ years.

The D.A.R. was the perfect place for our wedding. We had a 1890-1920's inspired wedding and it couldn't have been more perfect for it. The beautiful architecture, The camel back couches, the flocked wallpaper and the arched ballroom was beautiful. And they where amazingly helpful. Tanya met with us several times to show us the space and go over the details. I emailed her many times to check on details and she always got back to me with a friendly email and assured me that everything was taken care of. On the day of the wedding they where amazing. They fluttered around in the background taking care of everything we needed. It was flawless. I will definitely use them again if I ever have another largeish event and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is planning a wedding or event.

Gorgeous, affordable venue in the BEST part of town

We could not have been happier with the Rainier Chapter House as the location for our wedding ceremony and reception. Our total cost for the evening and hour-long rehearsal was about $3800 after the military discount - which is an absolute STEAL in downtown Seattle. Peter and Karen were just wonderful to work with - Karen was our day-of manager for our rehearsal and ceremony, and she graciously let us go a bit over our hour-long rental to practice our first dance in the space. We had 138 guests and that was probably the most people you would want to have in the space - any more and it would have been pretty cramped.

The DAR was a great venue for our wedding. Peter is very organized and easy to get a hold of. My only complaint is that members of the serving staff spilled meat juice on several guests and me, the bride. Otherwise, this place is great!

The house was beautiful, allowing our guests to have space to mill about. I didn't want a one-room reception that would feel claustrophobic. The staff was very anal about the parameters of using the house (linens, china, etc), but they were also very professional and did their job extremely well. In the end, I was glad that they were so strict and organized, on the day of our wedding everything was extremely well orchestrated - they really know what they are doing!

They provided our reception site. The cost they told us when we booked with them was 700 less than what we paid, which technically was in their contract, but was poorly written and not emphasized when asked about total cost. The figures they give are not all inclusive of set ups, and there were so many things that they would not do. It was nice because we could bring in our own caterer, but there were so many additional costs that were expected to be covered. They refused to help out with little things and were completely a waste of time. It was still the best day of my life, with no respect to them. They were always polite, I can give them that. If you don't mind paying for services that don't really help on the big day, keep this one on your list.
