My husband and I were lucky enough to have stumbled upon Rabbi Steve through Wedding Wire and it was truly the best decision we made to have Rabbi officiate our wedding. From day one we were able to tell that Rabbi Steve was kind, attentive, and really cared about our story. Throughout the process, we had many virtual meetings to get to know Rabbi Steve and for him to get to know us. We filled out a questionarre that he took the time to read through thoroughly and made the time to understand my husband and I as a unit but also as individuals. Rabbi Steve tailored the most perfect ceremony for us (we got married at a zoo) and made sure to include that unique aspect into his sermon. Best decision, best Rabbi! -

Above and Beyond
Rabbi Steve was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. He was very flexible with meeting times. He was very excited to get to know us and our story which was very nice. He was professional but also very laid back which made the process stress free. My favorite thing is that he surprised us by incorporating some sentimental memories into the ceremony. I highly recommend Rabbi Steve!!! Thank you so much Rabbi. We couldn’t thank you enough! -

Rabbi Steve was exactly what we were looking for
We had a fantastic experience with Rabbi Steve from beginning to end. He agreed to take us on even though we were on a time crunch and he really took the time to get to know us and offer great insight as well. He was also flexible and understanding with our concerns since we are an interfaith couple and weren't looking for a conventional ceremony. We loved how our ceremony went thanks to Rabbi Steve! He was thoughtful with his words as well as funny and engaging. The perfect trifecta! We would highly recommend him to any couple! -

We are so happy we came across Rabbi Steve. He was so easy to talk to and work with throughout the whole ceremony planning process. He made it very clear the steps we needed to take to prepare for our big day and we looked forward to our virtual meetings with him. Our ceremony turned out amazingly and everyone loved it! He was heartfelt but also humorous. He made sure to explain the whole ceremony for our guests. We have received so many compliments on what a beautiful service Rabbi Steve gave. We cannot praise Rabbi Stephen Nathan enough. We first discovered the Rabbi through an interfaith website when searching for someone to perform our daughter's baby naming ceremony. We knew upon our first meeting that he was the right fit for us for our future wedding. He has a calm, collected demeanor that puts you right at ease. He is a wealth of information, and you can see the passion that he has for Judaism, and the interest in others' faiths as well. For the wedding, he offered multiple counseling sessions. When our first wedding date had to be canceled due to covid, he found a way to perform a beautiful zoom ceremony for our closest friends and family. When we had the big in person ceremony two years later, he helped us with crafting a wonderful blend of Jewish tradition and contemporary insights in a way that felt just right. Traditional elements we incorporated included circling and the signing of the ketubah. We were able to choose a holistic version of the seven blessings that everyone at our wedding could appreciate in spite of their own varied customs. Rabbi Steve added many anecdotes along the way, both personal and historical. When necessary, he provided background information so that everyone could understand the meaning behind the traditions. Rabbi Steve has great humor as well, which helped to relieve anxiety during points that didn't quite go as planned. Ultimately, everything turned out beautifully. Rabbi Steve's preparedness for the event was terrific. His leadership over the day was truly professional. Our service was deeply spiritual, heartfelt, and unifying. Family and wedding guests for months after could not stop talking about what a lovely, authentic, and one-of-a-kind service it was. He also makes a great tasting challah, which he will bake for the ceremonies upon request. -

My (now) husband and I found Rabbi Steve in December of 2020. Due to the pandemic, we started having meetings online to get to know each other! It was always such a pleasure meeting with him and we always looked forward to it.
He was super accommodating when we decided to switch the venue of our wedding last minute 1 and a half hours away.
We would 1000% recommend Rabbi Steve for anyone’s wedding. The ceremony was beautiful and both of our families loved it.
Even though it was our first time connecting in person, we felt like he was apart of our family and was happy to have him stay for some of the reception. Everyone loved mingling with him and he fit right in! We are hoping to stay connected with him for the years to come. -

My husband and I cannot thank Rabbi Steve Nathan enough for officiating our wedding! The process was seamless, he guided us through every step with ease. He met with us multiple times prior to the wedding so that we can get to know each other and to understand the role of that Judaism plays in our lives. He explained all the key elements of a Jewish wedding to us and was respectful to tailor the ceremony to our wishes. Rabbi Steve Nathan led a beautiful and moving ceremony for us which was very personalized and memorable. I would wholeheartedly recommend Rabbi Steve Nathan as a wedding officiant! -

Rabbi Steve Nathan was wonderful from the start to the end! He met with us many times before the day of the ceremony which made us feel very comfortable following the plan the day of. He knew our style and fit into our wedding with humor and love. We had an interfaith wedding and Rabbi Steve Nathan helped figure out how to create the perfect ceremony between us. Not only did he officiant the wedding, but he taught us about the history and the meaning behind each section of the wedding. He worked very well with the other officiant and the guests had no clue they had just met the day of. I would highly suggest him to anyone in need of a Rabbi! -

Jeff (my husband) and I could not have asked for a more perfect person to officiate our wedding. We are from New York, but we had our heart set on getting married in Pennsylvania. So when we found Rabbi Steve, we felt so lucky! I was raised Jewish and my husband was raised Catholic. I always knew that I wanted to be married by a Rabbi. Jeff agreed to be married by a Rabbi and have a Jewish ceremony. Even though Jeff isn’t Jewish, it was still important to me that he felt comfortable with the person who was marrying us, and that he felt respected and included in our ceremony (after all, it was his wedding too!). When we had our first meeting with Rabbi Steve, we both were immediately at ease. He completely respected the fact that we were an interfaith couple and he made us feel like we had known him for years. He was able to recommend a great book so that Jeff and I could learn more about the meaning behind all the traditions of a Jewish wedding and he worked with us to customize the ceremony to reflect who we are as people. He also went above and beyond to make sure that, not only did we have a great ceremony, but that we were set up to have a great marriage. During our several pre-wedding meetings, he would be sure to have us discuss our future marriage, he wanted to know our hopes and fears and goals and he wanted to help us communicate with one another. He was reliable, easy to work with, and he made us feel as though he really cared about us! 5 stars, would absolutely recommend hiring Rabbi Steve! -

Rabbi Steve officiated at my daughter’s interfaith wedding. Besides being a Reconstructionist rabbi, Steve also has a strong background as an educator, and he used it to great advantage all throughout the wedding day. From the ketubah-signing to the traditional ceremony, he engagingly explained every step of the way to our guests, the vast majority of whom, like my new son-in-law, are not Jewish. After the ceremony, many of the guests—representing all ages and stages--told me how much they enjoyed the service because Steve made it so interesting and accessible.
Starting months before the wedding, Steve impressed me with how regularly he met with the future bride and groom to prepare them for their big day. He gave them reading to do and counseled them with wisdom and sensitivity. My now son-in-law really embraced the work, and continues to explore Judaism with an open heart and mind. I gratefully credit Steve for starting his journey.
In summary, this Jewish mother could not have been prouder of how well Rabbi Steve represented our tribe! I give him a two-thumbs-up-and-five-star rating. He will make a wonderful wedding for you! -

The PERFECT choice for our wedding
We were so pleased with Rabbi Nathan. Going into our wedding, we had a hectic schedule and were not able to meet as much as we had planned. Rabbi Nathan was so flexible with us, and in a short period of time he managed to get to know us wholly. We wanted a ceremony that was filled with music and that celebrated equality while honoring tradition, so Rabbi Nathan took a lot of extra time to research and consult with colleagues. He was both extremely knowledgeable and open to our ideas, which made him so helpful in helping us fit the ceremony we wanted into the Jewish tradition. Our guests were blown away by the ceremony and how much it truly reflected who we are and our values. We can't recommend him enough. -

Jon Sent on 04/30/2018Ok, Seriously... If you are looking for someone to officiate your wedding, this is the person you want! I honestly can't think of enough words that can convey how much my wife and I appreciate this amazing person. From the beginning, Rabbi Nathan was patient and professional and always made us feel comfortable. We were never afraid to ask questions and he always took the time to educate us and explain the process. From our first Interview, we immediately felt like he was a part of the family and understood us and our concerns. When you are planning a wedding there are of course moments when you might feel stressed or overwhelmed and Rabbi Nathan was always there to help and give advice when asked. Every session we had with him, we always left smiling and laughing. We have never had so many people come up to us and say how much they loved our ceremony (and our rabbi)! Rabbi Nathan kept it moving, explaining to people what was going on and kept everyone engaged. Our day is a day that we will never forget and we thank Rabbi Nathan for making it so memorable and special. We hope you go with him, because we are confident that it will make your day one you won't forget.
PS. I think other people mentioned it in the reviews. The Challah Bread really is THAT good... We are ordering from him for now on, for everything! -

User2165672 Sent on 06/05/2015Rabbi Steven Nathan officiated our wedding on September 6, 2014 and was an absolute pleasure to work with. He put together a beautiful ceremony and you could tell he cared deeply about how it turned out. He put a lot of time, effort, and thought into making the day perfect for us. Rabbi Steven met with us and had several calls in the months leading up to the wedding to make sure that we were educated on the Jewish wedding traditions and had some pre-marital counseling. He co-officiated the wedding with a Reverend and they worked very well together and made a wonderful ceremony that incorporated both religious traditions seamlessly.
