Exceptional DJ Service That Made Our Wedding Unforgettable
We cannot speak highly enough of Michael at Puttin' on the Hitz DJ Service. From start to finish, Michael was professional, attentive, and truly understood the vibe we wanted for our wedding.
Many of our guests came up to us throughout the night to rave about how great the DJ was. Michael's ability to read the crowd and keep the energy high made the dance floor the place to be all night long. The transitions between songs were seamless, and the music selection was perfect for all ages.
One of the highlights of the evening was the karaoke session after the dance portion. The setup was impressive, and it was a huge hit with our guests. Everyone had a blast, and it was a fun and unique way to end the night.
Michael, thank you for making our special day even more memorable. Your talent and dedication to your craft truly shine through. We highly recommend Puttin' on the Hitz DJ Service to anyone looking for an exceptional DJ for their wedding or event.

Puttin' on the Hitz made our holiday wedding the absolute best! Michael was so amazing and helped guide us through the entire day. The ceremony was flawless and we were so grateful we were working with a professional service. We talked to several different vendors before deciding on Puttin' on the Hitz. Michael made us feel so comfortable from start to finish. The reception was the icing on the cake with a great mix of music for all of our guests. Michael Scott with Puttin' on the Hitz was the perfect choice to DJ our recent wedding. Michael is incredibly kind, responsive, and just all around great at what he does! He made sure to keep the dance floor full at all times, and our guests continue to rave about the music/fun atmosphere he provided. Fantastic DJ
Michael was great to work with. He called us several weeks prior to our wedding date for an almost 45 minute call to discuss the details of our event and to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. His performance on “game day” was more than what we could’ve asked for. He played all the songs we requested and the songs he supplemented were well-selected. Throughout our experience with Michael, he displayed professionalism and courtesy. Would absolutely recommend.

Puttin’ on the Hitz and our DJ, Michael Scott, did an absolutely fantastic job every step of the way. Early on in the process, Michael was very communicative and helped us select all the services we wanted while staying within our budget. Closer to the wedding, Michael provided great insight into how the reception should flow and how we should schedule entrances / speeches / dances to create the best night for our guests. Everything went off without a hitch on our wedding day, and all of our guests loved the music. Michael played a huge role in making our special day as amazing as it was, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Michael Scott from Puttin' on the Hitz was such an amazing DJ for our wedding in West Des Moines. He was so easy to work with and make the night run seamlessly, he truly made the whole night run smoothly and followed our timeline helping to keep everything on schedule. He made the night so much fun by playing the perfect mix of music for our dance floor as well as providing some music during happy hour and dinner. Everything he did was exactly what we had hoped for for our wedding and the night wouldn't have been the same without him! Michael was a great asset to our wedding team! Right from the start he met with us to go over our expectations and desire’s for our special day. Puttin' on the Hitz is a great vendor. They were punctual, got back to us consistently, and respected and worked around our budget and needs. The communication between us and our DJ was effective. We knew exactly what everything cost and the information sheet we filled out was easy to do. The process of choosing songs was pretty seamless. During the wedding, Michael was great at getting the guests to join in on the dancefloor. He also helped us a lot with the announcements, the ceremony music, and the shoe game. Michael from Puttin' on the Hitz was wonderful and we would recommend him to anyone! He did a great job keeping guests on the dance floor ALL night. Michael was also great to work with throughout the process from booking to going over details and the day of. We had a couple specific announcements (parking, dessert service, etc) that we asked him to make and he did so timely and thoughtfully to keep guests informed and having fun! In my opinion, who you choose for your DJ will set the tone of your reception and we would choose him again in a heartbeat!

This DJ was used at a friend's wedding ~10 years ago and we were thrilled to see that he's still in business. We had to postpone our wedding once due to COVID restrictions and Michael from Puttin on the Hitz stayed with us through all the chaos of rescheduling. His communication with us was always proactive and timely and straightforward. He never had me worrying about what to expect. The tunes he played were FANTASTIC, and exactly what we wanted. He was also super flexible when I asked him at the last minute to do something extra (provide sound for the outdoor ceremony when our other sound system fell through). He was so flexible and provided us with everything we needed. He's so professional, fun, and entertaining. My mom even raved about how easily he could be understood when he announced the wedding party entrance! This guy knows how to DJ. HIGHLY recommend all around.

Awesome job by Michael & Puttin' on the Hitz!
Michael did an excellent job. The background music for arrival/dinner was at an appropriate volume for the venue. His ability to communicate with us regarding coordination and keep the night moving along was great. He did an awesome job keeping everyone engaged. Finally, Michael's personality and approach are something I have not seen much. You can definitely tell he enjoys putting on a party, dancing to the music, and having a good time. I highly recommend Puttin' on the Hitz and will have them in my back pocket for future events!

Puttin' on the Hitz did a great job from start to finish with our wedding and reception! They provided us with microphones for the ceremony which was a huge help at our venue. The music during dinner was perfect. The dance was loads of fun with a variety of music played and they stuck to the list we had provided. Everyone had a wonderful time! Michael was AMAZING to work with! He kept the party going and did an awesome job with song requests. On his website he offers song advice for each aspect of the wedding, which we found to be very helpful and a nice touch. About a week prior to the wedding, we had a phone call with Michael to discuss all logistics for the wedding day including song choices and timeline. Michael was so helpful and thorough during this process that my husband and I were fully able to relax and trust he was going to do a great job! We highly recommend Michael for your wedding DJ!

We hired Ryan for our wedding day and he did a fantastic job! Even though we only had 50 guests, due to being a Covid wedding, there was never a time when the dance floor was empty. I was SO surprised and thrilled! He even got elder grandparents and aunts and uncles out on the dance floor!
I couldn't recommend Michael, Ryan and their team enough!

We are so happy we chose Puttin on the Hitz to DJ our wedding. We were assigned with Josh and we got so many compliments on the music and how packed the dance floor was all night! We couldn't have asked for anything better! Josh was so much fun (every once and while I would look around and see him dancing with the guests which was awesome to us!) and professional at all times!
They were extremely accomodating when I made last minute changes to my services and needed them to play our ceremony music and it was more beautiful than I could have imagined!

April 2019 Wedding
I had attended a few weddings where the DJ did not impress me and it stuck in my head as one of the major vendors I needed to meet before I even booked so I could get a feel for the person who would be DJing my wedding, so I reached out and we set up a meeting and almost immediately felt as ease with Michael and his company. At the end of the meeting, I told him exactly why I set up the meeting and he laughed at my honesty but I went home and booked his company. Now for the wedding, I had picked the couple of songs I knew I wanted and let him pick the rest for the "events," just told him the kind of music I wanted for each and he nailed it. I have a FUN group of family and friends and I'm pretty sure everyone walked out the door at the end of the night, dancing. He was very patient with me and my not so specific timeline and let me go with the flow and let him know when I wanted to do things the moment before and he was VERY accommodating and very professional when he addressed the guests, which I'm very appreciative of. He was great to work with and I would hire his company again!

We were so excited to have Puttin' on the Hitz DJ our wedding. Since we were a little late in the planning process, we were worried they might be booked. Michael and his team took care of all our wedding day anxieties. Their on-line Event Planner was extremely helpful and we were able to make payments so that everything was taken care of before our big day. That in iteself was a huge relief! They really do pay attention to the small details as many of our guests commented on how professional and fun the DJ was. Michael played a perfect mix of music and kept the dance floor packed. The DJ (Josh Brooks) was amazing! We had a wide range of ages at our wedding (from 4 years old to 80 years old) and he navigated that perfectly! Despite MY total lack of preparedness for everything other than the ceremony/first dances songs, he played every song I could have thought to ask for! I had several family members come up to me that night or the next day and tell me that the DJ was awesome because not only did he make it easy for the guests to have fun, but he was so approachable and friendly!

I am so thrilled we picked Puttin on the Hitz to DJ our wedding. Michael was so easy to work with and did an amazing job. He kept the reception flowing well, even when we were a bit behind schedule. Puttin' On the Hitz did such a great job with our reception! They helped with the flow of events and was super entertaining. We had a phone consultation after we booked them and they listened to all of our requests and held true to them. For example, we requested to not have songs played that had a ton of swearing. We had a couple friends suggest a song that did and he denied the request! Our friends didn't know we had requested that but when we heard from them that he followed through with our request, we thought that was pretty awesome. He kept the party going exactly how we liked it and easily could have kept it going all night.

Puttin' on the Hitz provided the music at our welcoming reception; before, during and after the ceremony; and, of course the party/reception afterwards. Michael knew what types of music to play every step of the way! We had numerous songs before, during and after the ceremony. He knew exactly when to blend and fade the music to make our ceremony absolutely perfect! Also, his work ethic was excellent. Puttin' on the Hitz was by far the best DJ we could have had! We used them for our 2018 holiday party. Josh did a great job and showed up early to set up. He took request and got the crowd moving! He kept us to our schedule and overall we were very happy with the service we received.

Puttin’ in the Hitz made my wedding a party! Josh our DJ was fun and got really into the wedding and it’s guests. He was able to play all our songs that were requested and went above and beyond when asked to do a mix of two songs!

Josh was amazing! We had a great time with Josh as our DJ! He was super friendly, easygoing, and he played all of the songs we requested! We even had someone celebrating their birthday at our wedding and he played the "Happy Birthday" song for us! We had a wonderful day and reception and Josh got everyone on the dance floor! Thank you Josh and Michael so much for making our day so fun and memorable!!!

Michael and Ryan with Puttin' On The Hitz did an amazing job for our wedding. They were extremely patient and helpful throughout our numerous questions during the planning process. Wedding day, they kept the order of events going when we would fall behind schedule, and they played a great mix of music. Fantastic company, highly recommend!

We had such a great experience with this DJ service. We hired them for our wedding on 10/28/17. The DJ was very creative and definitely got the party started. Everyone at our wedding had an absolute blast and danced all night. I would definitely recommend!
