Great experience, beautiful dresses

I loved my experience at Pure Bliss! I went dress shopping here with my mom. My cousins got their wedding dresses here and highly recommended the store. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They pulled dresses very similar to the ones that I sent prior to the appointment. Symphonie really listened to what I wanted and I ended up falling in love with the second dress I tried on! It wasn't what I thought I would end up with but it was the perfect dress for me and I couldn't be happier. I had a few fitting appointments and my dress fit perfectly on my wedding day. Highly recommend!

Perfect wedding dress

My experience at Pure Bliss was nothing but amazing! Vanita and Jeanine were extremely helpful and quick responses through email and text. Being a covid bride I was afraid of the bridesmaids dresses not arriving on time or the tuxes being delayed but my worries were always reassured. Pure Bliss had the exact bridesmaids dress color I was looking for! I wanted sleeves added on and Vanita and Jeanine facilitated ordering the correct amount of lace and tule! I literally cannot say enough good things about Pure Bliss!

I felt SO beautiful on my wedding day!

To the staff at Pure Bliss, especially Jeanine and Gerry, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Jeanine was very helpful during the whole process and ensured that I was happy with my dress. Gerry, the lovely and skilled seamstress I worked with, made the dress perfect for me. My husband almost fainted when he saw me! I’ve never felt more beautiful. I remember driving by Pure Bliss while visiting Newburyport numerous times as a child and teenager, wondering if I would someday find my dress there. I did.

The name speaks for itself

Pure Bliss was recommended to me by a friend and they definitely delivered. I was that crazy bride who watched endless hours of "Say Yes to the Dress" on Saturdays and would jot down designer names and styles and would search online to see who carried what I was hoping to find. Pure Bliss kept coming up as a match so for me that meant it was worth calling and booking an appointment. I was greeted nicely on the phone and then sent an email not too long after asking me different questions to gauge my style and what I was looking for. I had a specific dress in mind and being the practical person I am, I fully expected to leave empty handed only because I did not think it would be that easy but it was! I worked with Vanita and she is FABULOUS. She pulled several different dresses for me based on my email and then had me pull a bunch myself on the day of my appointment. Low and behold the first dress I tried on, which was one of her picks, was the dress. It was exactly as I had described. I did, of course, try on about 10 others because you should always do that just in case, but I couldn't stop thinking about the first dress. When I put it back on for the second time, I cried and knew it was the one. Everyone tells me how incredibly beautiful it is. She even chose the perfect, long, statement-worthy veil to match. I literally felt like a queen on my wedding day. I got to have my Meghan Markle moment! I also purchased my bridesmaids dresses there, which were also gorgeous and they had the exact color I wanted. All of my fittings went perfectly and Ana, one of the seamstresses, is amazing. She made me feel so good every single time I had a fitting. The owner, Jeanine, was also very communicative with me about everything every step of the way. She also made my fittings and experience fun. All of the ladies there are great! Thank you, Pure Bliss, for getting me the dress of my wedded dreams.

A+++ experience!!

My experience here was the best! I went wedding dress shopping at many other locations prior to this one, but Pure Bliss really stood out among the rest. All the staff and the owner were so welcoming and skilled!! Best customer service, great selection of gowns. A great experience! Highly reccomend

I cannot speak highly enough about Pure Bliss!! I found my gown here in February and had an absolutely amazing experience. I happened to be in Newboryport looking at invitations, and called Pure Bliss last minute to see if they had any availability. I had previously ordered a gown elsewhere and wasn’t happy with it when it came in, so I wanted to “just look” so see if I could find something that I loved. Vanita answered the phone, accommodated to see me in just a half an hour, and provided amazing customer service!!! She helped me choose a variety of gowns, and helped me find my dream dress!! The dress selection at Pure Bliss was fantastic, and price points were reasonable. I absolutely LOVE the gown that I found and cannot thank Vanita enough for her amazing customer service and kindness!! Thank you!!

I worked with Maxine to find my wedding dress at Pure Bliss and she was so great! She was so patient with me because my ideas were all over the place! Absolutely love love love! The best experience. The ladies are so knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. For My first appointment, I was actually the only bride in the shop. So it was so relaxed and I was catered to. Then for my bridesmaid shopping, again we were the only group in the shop. Again so relaxing and we were catered to. Lastly, the gown i chose was strapless but we added straps onto it by ordering extra lace. The alterations team then made my straps vision a beautiful reality. During my wedding I got cake on the top of my dress. I brought it back to Pure Bliss and they sent it out for preservation and the stain came out!! I was so happy. Overall, pure bliss is the best place, I highly recommend them!

Pure Bliss has been fantastic thus far. I was able to schedule a Monday private session, and the consultant had picked out a series of dresses in my size that were in line with the look I wanted for my dress. She emailed me in advance with a whole list of questions so that she could be prepared day-of. It was fantastic. The only downside was that it was extremely hot in the shop in August, and they didn't have on air conditioning. I was literally dripping by the time we were done - carrying heavy dresses around and all of the nerves were a tough combination in the heat! But otherwise I loved the experience.

I first came to Pure Bliss in the summer of 2015 when I was newly engaged. I was not sure what to expect as this was my first time dress shopping. From the first time I called to set up an appointment I felt comfortable with my decision to use Pure Bliss! I loved the consultant we worked with. She made me feel so comfortable and made for a great experience! We went back a few months later and actually got all of our bridesmaid dresses and tuxes from them as well. Every time I had to call or email I felt like I was talking to a friend- so pleasant and there to address any and all of my concerns and questions. I was just married this September and I truly LOVED my dress, the bridesmaid dresses and the tuxes!! I wish I could wear my gown again! The alterations were perfect and it fit me so well. Best part- my husband said I looked BEAUTIFUL! For anyone who is looking for a great experience at a local bridal shop please use this store! You will be happy you did.

I am very happy that I went to Pure Bliss for my bridal gown. I had an amazing experience being able to look through the entire inventory but also have guidance of a great consultant. They are very knowledgeable about their designers and how the dresses will fit. I have also used them for my bridesmaids gowns. They have such a variety for all shapes and sizes. Not only did I purchase my wedding dress from Pure Bliss, but I also got my wedding jewelry & bridesmaids dresses! I primarily worked with Maxine, the manager of the store and she was amazing! This shop is amazing. I came from out of state to look for a wedding gown and I'd already stopped at other places before I went to Pure Bliss. I was SO happy to have made the trip here. The staff was great letting me (and my family) browse the racks and try on dress after dress. I found 'the one' on my shopping trip but wasn't 100% sold on buying it then. I came home to upstate NY and found that none of the shops locally carried the dress so I called Pure Bliss and decided to pull the trigger. They were so amazing, they said if I waited a week or two the designer I chose was having a sale so I could order then and get a discount. Not only did they order my dress perfectly they sent it to their sister store closer to my family so they would be able to pick it up. I cannot say enough about the great service and selection I found there.

Pure Bliss is the best shop I've been to! I couldn't have been any happier with my choice to buy my dress here. Maxine was helping me and she had done a great job. She left my family and I alone pick out dresses which was fun and they have a great variety. When trying them on she had me in and out of them without wasting any time at all. She had a great personality and was very fun to work with so it made the entire trip worth it. I had my choices down to two and I absolutely loved both, she had given me one tip about one dress explaining that in pictures you will not be able to see if shine of the dress which made me automatically go with my other choice. She was not pushy what so ever, she let my family and I talk in private so make sure this was dress. Overall, she was terrific and I would HIGHLY recommend this shop and especially Maxine to help any brides find their dress. They also have a great variety of bridesmaid dresses too which I will be going back for!!

I had a wonderful customer experience at Pure Bliss. I shopped at 5 stores and Pure Bliss was the best!! Maxine is an angel. Before my appointment, she emailed me a list of questions about what kind of bride dress I wanted. She listened to what I wanted and she had several dresses pulled and ready for me to try on at my appointment! No other place did this. It made the process very efficient because she clearly heard me and knew what I wanted. The dresses she showed me were very much the style I am looking for so the process was very efficient. They have a seamstress, onsite storage and were willing to work with me on the final price of the dress. If you are looking for a wedding dress, you should go to Pure Bliss! The store is beautiful. It is worth the drive to Newburyport, but this is right near the ocean and you can have a nice lunch and walk around the cute town of Newburyport. It was highly recommended to me by my coworker who bought her wedding dress there.

I got my wedding dress (for 10/11/14) at Pure Bliss in Newburyport and it was perfect! Vanita helped us a few days before at their sister store Swoon on Rt 1 and even though it was her day off she came to an appointment with us at PB because I was traveling in from California to shop with my Mom, MOH, etc. My best friend picked out a dress that was over budget and Vanita kindly reminded her that I probably shouldn’t try it on because it was a little over my price range. My friend was adamant and of course I fell in love with it. Luckily, I planned for this to happen and gave a lower price range to start with knowing that, like everything else for this wedding, I was going to go over budget. I had it measured hollow to hem since I was wearing flats for the big day. Advice: It does take a really long time to come in so order early!! I ordered in January and it didn’t come in to the store until July. I picked it up on my next trip home in August and had some minor alterations done at a salon in San Diego. I got so many compliments on my dress.

I had the worst time finding a dress - I just wanted something simple and could not find anything without jewels, too much lace, too many bows, too poofy, etc. etc. I found a dress that was close and had it altered completely at Bliss and it was perfect. Can't say enough about the flexibility of the owner and how she made my vision a reality. Definitely recommend!

I was very happy shopping with Maxine at Pure Bliss in Newburyport. The small store front is deceptive, as the large back of the store is filled with beautiful bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. After explaining what I was looking for and some other shopping experiences, Maxine made me comfortable and helped to find me the perfect dress! The experience was very personal and special.

Maxine has also been wonderful in my search for bridesmaids' dresses! She has dealt with multiple appointments, many bridesmaids, and my own indecisiveness! She went out of her way to make calls to me about color swatches and to search for dresses in my palette. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Pure Bliss, and I would recommend the store (and Maxine!) to any bride!

Maxine was very pleasant to work with. We were looking for bridesmaid dresses and walked in, not aware that we needed an appointment. She had an appointment already scheduled for when we showed up, so she offered us an appointment for later in the day. We took it and 30 minutes later, she called to say the previous appointment was a no-show and we could come earlier if we wanted.
The variety of dresses was very extensive. This was helpful for my bridesmaids (although it would have overwhelmed me personally). They found dresses they loved, we picked colors, and they ordered them that day. Happy bridal party!
During this time, Maxine received a call from another customer that she had been working with that turned out to be lengthy (she was the only consultant in the shop), but she apologized for being gone so long when she was finally able to get off the phone.
We haven't decided on tuxes yet, so my fiance may go there for his tux as well.

I had the best experience with Pure Bliss. I had tried dresses on at two other stores, but this was by far the best place I had been too! I had an appointment on a Sunday morning and my family and I were the only people in the store which I thought was great. We had the whole store to our self including all the dresses! It was a very private, intimate experience. The girl who helped us, Katie, was amazing! She was so friendly and easy going, she made the whole experience very fun. When we decided to purchase the dress they even gave us a little discount! I would highly recommend this place to any girl shopping for dresses! And I will be going back for bridesmaids dresses. They offer discounts on bridesmaid dresses and accessories if you buy your dress there.

I had a wonderful experience at Pure Bliss! I returned home to New England to dress shop for the weekend and last minute called to schedule an appointment at Pure Bliss and they were very kind to fit me in! They have a wonderful selection and when I first walked through the doors to the dress area I was in awe! While there we were the only ones in the shop and I really felt like a princess in my own private fitting! The sales representative was great, I was very impressed by how she listened to my likes and dislikes and seemed to pick out the perfect selection. At first I didn't know how I was going to make a decision because I loved them all! I ended up finding my DREAM dress and recently went in for my first fitting and the size they ordered was PERFECT!

I cannot wait till I get to wear my dress on our wedding day! Thanks Pure Bliss!

Pure Bliss is Amazing!!!! My twin sister and I had a double wedding on August 10, 2013, and we both got our dresses from Pure Bliss! The whole experience was exactly what we imagined when growing up! We worked with Jeanine and Maxine and they were almost as excited as we were about our Double Wedding, they made us feel so special from the moment we walked in! My sister and i had a vision of the dress we would want, however when trying them on we figured out we didn't like the style, the staff was so patient and brought us dress after dress! When my sister found hers i knew that was the style for us! The staff then found me a similar dress to my sisters and we were both in love!!!! They also helped pick out our matching cathedral veils that complimented both our dresses! They ordered some extra beading for my dress so we could make it exactly how i wanted and it came out just perfect!!!! Not only did we get our 2 gowns they also helped us pick out our flower girl dresses, as well as all our Bridesmaids dresses!!! Everything was so stress free! They took care of everything!!!! When we came in to have our first dress fitting my sister and i hadn't found our jewelry yet, but again we told them what we were looking for and Jeanine ordered everything and when we came in for our next fitting we both fell in love with what she ordered for us! I even found my shoes there that were dyed to the exact pink that i needed :) We were dressed from head to toe with Pure Bliss and it was everything we had dreamed of!! We really cant say enough about our experience with Pure Bliss, They really made our dream of our double wedding complete!

Firstly, the staff at Pure Bliss are amazing to work with. So friendly and so helpful! I went to Boston, fell in love with a dress totally out of my price range, went back to Pure Bliss and Jeanine told me she could copy it. I took a Huge risk! I saw her in Oct and did not come in for my first fitting until 5 days before the wedding. The dress was absolutely gorgeous and she managed to do some massive alterations and got the dress ready on time!

Where do I begin with this place, or should I say the saleswoman Jeanine. She was the best. So accommodating in my time of need. If you need a dress pressed, altered, or just moral support on what you are wearing to a formal event, in my case it was my wedding, she is the one to go see.

My dress was perfect, everyone was so great, and I even had one of the sales girls pick out a bracelet for me for my MOH to pick up the day before!

We also got all the boys suits from there and they all fit perfectly without a pre-fitting.

A sample sale is what originally drew me to Pure Bliss, and while I didn't purchase the dress I was eying when I was there, I was really impressed with the staff! They were so nice and accommodating! So when I went shopping with my mom and sister, SERIOUS dress shopping, I was instantly drawn to go back there, and I'm glad that I did. After trying on probably about 10 dresses, I finally found the dress I loved! And the staff kept the shop open a little later, not pushing us out, so I could stay in the dress and truly get excited about the purchase. Since then, I've gone back three times--once to try the dress on when it arrived, another time for my bustle-fitting, and lastly for my final pick-up. Each visit has been so pleasant--Jeanine runs a really well-oiled machine. They were also so helpful with accessories (which are very reasonably priced at the boutique!), and putting the whole look together. A plus in my book. I'd send anyone back there who was looking for a fun and fulfilling dress experience!
The dress was perfect upon pick-up, in a perfect bag all pressed and ready to go. There was a personal card tucked into the pocket, wishing me luck and thanking me for my business. A really nice touch! I loved Pure Bliss!

Firstly, the staff at Pure Bliss are amazing to work with. So friendly and so helpful! I went to Boston, fell in love with a dress totally out of my price range, went back to Pure Bliss and Jeanine told me she could copy it. I took a Huge risk! I saw her in Oct and did not come in for my first fitting until 5 days before the wedding. The dress was absolutely gorgeous and she managed to do some massive alterations and got the dress ready on time!

Everyone at PureBliss was so extreemly helpful and accomadating. They always let me come in to try on more dresses and once I ordered mine I came in so many times to try it on. The alterations department was great. They listened to everything that I had to say and all my oppinions. I would extreemly recomend them to anyone looking for a special experience made just that.

Pure Bliss was the first place we went to start the search for my wedding gown, and we never made it anywhere else. I found my gown the first day with the help of the staff trying out various accessories styles, etc. We liked them so much that after finding my gown that first day, my sister (maid of honor) also tried some dresses and found the bridesmaid dresses!

Each time I was there for a fitting, they were attentive and helpful and the dress fit perfectly by the time they were finished.

My mother ended up finding her dress there as well.

The prices are reasonable, the women working there are wonderful, the dresses were all beautiful and I could not have been more pleased with the outcome! I'm so sad that I could only wear it the one night!!

When I arrived for my appointment with Ms. Vanita she was finishing off with another bride the store owner brought us in and got me started. They had already pulled some dresses for me but asked me to pull some. I was feeling overwhelmed and Ms.Jeanine came over and told me to take my time. I noticed her observing me from a distance. I eventually pulled two dresses and I continued to browse. I walked and looked at a particular dress a couple of times and Ms. Jeanine came right over after the 3rd time and said to me the dress is talking to you , you must try it on.
I loved all the dresses that I tried on and for some reason I had forgotten that particular dress when I had narrowed down to 3 dress. I said to Ms. Vanita may I try tis dress before we continue with the other 3. I knew as I was pulling the dress passed my knees that , that was my dress. It felt perfect. My youngest son , Andrew said oh mom that is the dress. The dress is perfect for our destination wedding in New Orleans and Massachusetts will be represented since the dress is named BOSTON.

I purchase my wedding gown and I am so happy with my experience and the price. The staff was friendly and helpful and really listened to what I wanted in a dress and did not try to talk me into anything I didn't like. I had looked at "THE" dress at other locations and the price was a little higher than I wanted to pay, I ended up checking out Pure Bliss and they had the same dress but for $400.00 less, then if you purchase on your first appointment you get a discount, so I felt that I got a very good deal.

If you buy your wedding dress there you also get your accessories, bridesmaid dress, Mom/Grandma dresses, shoes, tux rental/suits at a discount there too.

You do need appointments for the bride and bridesmaids dresses. I did not take the full appointment time for my wedding gown but they still would not let us try on bridesmaids dresses that day without an appointment - which was a little annoying because I had out of town bridesmaids but I understand why they require appointments and we now have an appointment for bridesmaid dresses at a later date and I am very excited to go back!

Shopping, purchasing, and altering my wedding gown at Pure Bliss was a great experience overall! The staff, especially Maxine, were patient and so helpful as I tried on lots of different styles and types of dresses. Knowing what I was leaning toward, they brought similar styles and helped me talk through what I liked and didn't like, even though I didn't know what I wanted when I initially came in! They set up appointments for me to try on the dress a couple more times before I actually purchased. When the dress came in, I just had to get in to try it on, even though the alterations person wasn't even in yet! The alterations were good too- they made adjustments as necessary and were easy to work with and schedule times. Overall, excellent staff and very calm, easy environment with great options!

I won my wedding gown from a contest on facebook. I made an appointment to pick out my dress and was so excited/nervous to try on dresses as I never had before. The girls at this boutique made me feel so comfortable trying dresses on and giving me opinions when I needed it the most. After having read some prior reviews I was a little hesitant to look for a gown at Pure Bliss. I am truly glad that I decided not to listen to the advice of previous brides and tried it for myself. As a plus size bride and someone that wasn't looking for the most traditional wedding gown I found myself getting frustrated having to try and fit into a sample size ten and then in addition trying to look at some of the over-decorated gowns I had seen at other places. I loved the gown I found at Pure Bliss. I also found that they had numerous gowns to choose from within my budget ($1,000 including alterations). I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Jeanine (the owner). Not only was she helpful but she also didn't try and upscale me or pull gowns that were out of my budget. My Maggie Sottero gown fit perfectly and was comfortable all night long! I do with that they had longer hours for alterations, but since my gown needed minimal, this was not an issue. I did get Dyeable shoes and found that they didn't really match the material so would not recommend those, but that is not the fault of Pure Bliss. This great little independent shop met all of my news and exceeded my expectations.

I had a good experience here, I will say when trying to find accessories for the dress my mom had to speak up a lot to try and get the saleslady to give me different options to try. She didn't seem to be too creative with that but it doesn't seem like others had that experience, maybe it was just an off day. I would still highly recommend Pure Bliss to find wonderful dresses at reasonable prices!

Maxine at Pure Bliss helped me finally find bridesmaid dresses after an extremely long and unsuccessful search. We went to several places in the northern MA/southern ME area, and we didn't find this quality of service anywhere else. Maxine was focused, patient, and honest. She made me consider things that I hadn't thought about previously, and offered solutions to help with the problems that inevitably come from putting 5 girls in the same dress. I would highly recommend Pure Bliss to other brides.

I got my wedding dress during a sample sale at Pure Bliss. Everyone there was so helpful, nice and friendly. After I bought my dress, I had to call a few times in order to set up fittings. No one would pick up the phone a lot and I'd have to keep calling.
When I got a fitting appointment, I showed up about 30 minutes early and they took me right away, which was great. They didn't have too many alterations to do to my dress; they added bra cups, moved an applique to make the dress longer (I'm really tall) and added a french bustle.
For my second fitting, I tried the dress on again to make sure everything was good and it was. However, I did not try out the bustle. This was a big mistake.
On my wedding day, when my Matron of Honor tied my bustle, it was so long still. I didn't mind at first, but then everyone started stepping on it and I thought my whole dress was going to fly right off. My MOH got a bunch of safety pins and fixed it for me, but just a warning: Try out your bustle!
Everything else was great with Pure Bliss, though and then price of alterations wasn't nearly as much as I thought it would be.

I had a very good experience picking out my dress. Overall I really liked Pure Bliss and would recommend them, however there were times that my bridesmaids felt as if they were bothering them when they called for sizes or to leave a deposit, etc. They are very busy, and I assume that is why, but it is hard to have your bridesmaids complain to you about that. For me, they made me feel like a princess every time I was there and you get 10% off all accessories, bridesmaids dresses, mother of the bride dress and more if you buy your gown there. That stuff pays off in the end! They also have amazing dresses!

Pure Bliss was the 4th or 5th place that I went, and I immediately had a wonderful experience. Christina was the person that I had my appointment with and she was fantastic. I had a few pictures of dresses I liked, and knowing only which styles I didn't like on me, she pulled 8 or 10 dresses which all fit my criteria perfectly. I easily narrowed it down to three, and had a really tough time picking from those because they were all so perfect! I couldn't make a decision that day (it took me about 6 months to buy a car - needless to say I need to think everything over!), and there was absolutely no pressure at all. I went back the next day and decided on the one! I also ordered my bridesmaid dresses there. They have a million on display, but of course the one I found somewhere else they did not have, but they called the company and were able to order them anyway. We all did our alterations there. My dress somehow needed nothing done to it (they measured so well, the hem was even perfect). I even ordered by veil, sash, and found a pin there. Three of the bridesmaids, my mom, and my flower girl all had their alterations done there, and it took a few times of going back to get them right, which was the only drawback to the shop. My mom's was too loose to begin with, then they took it in too much and unfortunately could only let it out a tiny bit because they cut the fabric. She wasn't too thrilled, but it zipped at least, and she forgot about it by the time the ceremony started. They charged about $50-100 for each person for alterations. Overall, they could have done a little better as far as service goes for the wedding party, but they were nothing but wonderful for everything that had to do with me and my dress, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

I had a very pleasant experience working with Pure Bliss. I was able to find my dream dress for less than $1,000 which is far less than I ever imagined I would end up paying for a wedding dress. Compared to other bridal boutiques I visited, Pure Bliss is pretty average. You're set up with a consultant who is attentive and works with you only, which is nice. The areas they provide for your family and friends to sit is pretty small and not too private compared to some of the other stores I visited. Pure Bliss has kind of strange hours that didn't work too well with my schedule which I why I gave them 3.5 stars in flexibility, but thats only me; I'm sure this is not the case for every bride who shops there!

I worked with Maxine when finding my dress and she is awesome. She was really helpful and accommodating and was honest about prices and what fits flattered me and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't love. Another really great thing about pure bliss is that you can see all the dresses they have, and you can try any of them on. Some of the other stores only allowed consultants into the dress room, so you were really just counting on them to find things you might like, which was not the case here.

In all, I would certainly (and have already!) recommend Pure Bliss to other brides, just make sure to make an appointment!

I bought my dress at a sample sale at Pure Bliss and paid $600 for an $1800 gown, so I was MORE than happy with the price of the dress itself; the alterations/extras (I had a sash made and straps added to the originally strapless gown) got too pricey. Jeanine was wonderful to work with - she was very patient with me and very flexible during the fitting process - she scheduled me for times that were outside of the normal fitting hours more than once to accommodate my work schedule, which I really appreciated. She was fun and funny, really a pleasure to be around and work with, even when I was worried about the dress fitting right/looking right, etc. The add-on straps were her idea, and turned out to be THE best thing I did as far as the look of the dress on my body was concerned! The sash she made for me was also exactly what I wanted. Her feedback was always honest and her advice was sound and practical.

The only complaint I had was, once I got my dress home after the final fitting, there was tears in the fabric on either side at the base of the zipper, which caused me to freak out. One of my bridesmaids and I had both noticed it and mentioned it to Jeanine and she said she would see what she could do to fix it. With the dress on my body it was not really noticeable, but when I looked at it hanging on the hanger, it was like a gaping hole. I live nowhere near Newburyport (over an hour away), so there was no way I'd be able to make it back there between pickup time and my wedding. I called and brought the dress to a local seamstress who took care of the alterations or my daughter's flower girl dress and she was able to repair the fabric and the zipper with no problem at all. Also, my dress was VERY snug - looked great, but felt a little less comfortable than it appeared - Jeanine had told me that it wasn't worth letting out because the fabric allowance would only give me overall less than an inch...but the seamstress I took it to said there would have been another way to do it that would have worked (that she herself had actually done before on similar dresses). She also said that the fabric around the zipper was likely distressed because it was a sample gown and had been tried on many times (and maybe by people actually too big for the dress!). My only advice to brides/potential customers of Pure Bliss would be to ASK QUESTIONS about anything to do with alterations and sample gowns. Jeanine was more than willing to answer my questions and work with me, I feel like I just didn't ask for as much info. as I should have. As far as responsiveness goes, I notice that some reviews say that Pure Bliss staff were hard to reach - by phone this is true since it is a small shop and often very busy, but if you're comfortable using e-mail, that really worked for me. Jeanine responded to every e-mail the same day I sent it, and more often than not, within an hour or so. Overall, a very good experience.

I loved my wedding dress and it fit like a dream. The owner of this shop, Jeanine, is extremely sweet, friendly and professional. Shes been in the business for awhile and knows her stuff. Her store is small but well stocked, and I never felt rushed or given a "sales pitch". The reason shes not getting a rave review is because she ordered my mothers dress about two sizes too large and even after alterations, it was far too big. Plus she charged my mother in full for the alterations, so they ended up costing more than the dress itself.

I got my dress here at a sample sale. I lucked out and got a gorgeous dress at a wonderful price. The only issues is that my dress sample didn't have a zipper and I felt that they were only interested in making a sale. I was so excited by the dress that I didn't take a look at how the back was clipped and it wasn't until I purchased the dress and got home. At that point I realized that there might not be enough fabric to add a zipper. I felt that they should have warned me of that potential issue. Luckily my amazing seamstress, who works independently out of her home, was able to salvage my dress.

I found my dress on my 2nd visit to Pure Bliss. A co-worker had a fabulous experience with them and recommended I do a custom dress with them like she did. On that 2nd visit I found “the one” but because I’m so short I wanted some major work done. They offered me a fantastic price for a “custom dress” and I was thrilled. I waited over 8 months for the dress to come in and I had to call myself to check on its completion. Newburyport was a hike for me, but I managed to work with their fitting schedule. I went with my cousin to the first fitting (less than 3 months before the wedding) and when I finally saw my dress my jaw dropped. It looked nothing like the original dress I had chosen over 8 months ago. My thought was that the bridal store would order the dress I wanted and then make major alterations to it making it a custom dress. That was not the case…they would instead use “the one” as a model to make a dress from scratch. The new custom dress however looked nothing like the original. My cousin and I were playing a game of how many differences we could see from the original which they still had in stock. I was very disappointed and asked to try the original dress back on. I worked with the owner and we were able to work out a deal to purchase the original dress since it was too close to the wedding to order a whole new one. We also had some issues with the bustle and I ended up having to buy my own appliqués for the train myself. It was a very scary moment seeing the custom dress and my bustle for the first time and it could have all ended up in disaster, but things ended up working out in the end. My advice to any bride would be to ask as many questions about the alteration process as possible. I absolutely loved my dress and I got many, many compliments on it. The choice of gowns is great, and the price points are perfect! I just wish there was better service at this cute boutique!! I've heard of people having a great experience but mine was not so good. My appointment, trying on and ordering the dress went perfectly, but once it was in, the trouble began! During the first fitting the dress fit perfectly but I had to get the bustle done. Over the next couple of weeks, I lost weight, probably due to stress as the wedding got closer so I called and told them of my dilema and to see if I could come in for a fitting with the seemstress to see if it should be taken in or not. I live 2 hours from the place and when I got there I was told that they sent the seemstress home because they thought I just wanted to try it on again "for fun". Turns out the dress was too big and the girl working the dress claimed she could pin it and get it fixed etc. So I had to schedule another apt to come back only to find that it wasn't done correctly at all (probably because the desk girl pinned it!). 2 more fittings later and it finally fit, and just in time for the wedding so that was great, but having to make the 4hr round trip drive once a week for a month before the wedding was soooo stressful, time consuming and costly. This could have been avoided since the seemstress herself was really good, but it would have been nice if she was there to begin with!!!

I was happy with the variety of wedding dresses Pure Bliss had to offer. I did have to go twice and bought the last dress I tried on. My dress was a good price but alterations were ridiculously expensive and I avoided some dresses that would be very expensive to alter such as lace on the bottom. At my final fitting I noticed some snags on my dress and I was assured they would go over the dress and make sure it was perfect before the big day and steam it. However when I opened the bag after picking it up 2 days before the wedding it was a wrinkled mess with all the snags still in place. They did not even look at it after my final fitting. I was not happy to be snipping at my dress and trying to find a steamer 2 days before the wedding. All in all good place but not happy with what happened with my dress!

The small bridal shop they have was ROASTING hot when I was trying on and picking out dresses. I am not sure if they did not have AC but it was very hot and uncomfortable for me. Also the woman helping me find dresses was not too friendly. I ended up finding the dress of my dreams, however she was no help when it came to accessorizing it. Apparently my dress came with optional straps that I was never told about. After purchasing my dress and telling my friend what dress it was she had asked me if I got the straps and I had no idea it was even an option. I ended up calling the place the next day asking to re-try on the dress with the straps and they gave me such an attitude like I was bothering them and told me it would be more money. I did not like how they talke to me or handled my situation, I felt very rushed like they could have cared less about me.

I purchased my wedding dress from another store but reached out to Pure Bliss for my bridesmaid dresses. The process seemed very disorganized, employees didn't seem to be trained very well and no one really helped us find what we were looking for. When my bridesmaid and I showed up for our appointment, we were sent into the back by ourselves to search the racks. While I think it's great to be given an opportunity to see all that's out there, a little help guiding us in the right direction would have been nice. No one came over to offer any help really, which seemed a bit bizarre. We did eventually find a dress that worked (no thanks for anyone at the store), however, the communication, responsiveness, and professionalism seemed to be lacking even after we made the purchase. I think Pure Bliss really has an opportunity to improve their process, get their employees on the same page with regard to protocol and customer service, and improve their communication. Having had a great experience purchasing my wedding dress from another store, I was disappointed with Pure Bliss.

I absolutely loved my dress- I knew it was the one as soon as I saw it and this is the only shop that I found that had it. The service Pure Bliss provided in the search for the perfect dress was really good, but after they received payment, there was really no service to speak of. They seemed annoyed if I or my bridal party had questions.

I went to several locations to look for a dress prior to going to Pure Bliss. My first visit to Pure Bliss went okay. The help was great the first visit (probably just to make a sale) and I tried on many dresses. I went in January and the fitting area was chilly! If you are going to be stripping down to nothing and putting on sleeveless dresses they really should fix the temperature. After the first visit it was all downhill. We ordered both mother's dresses and two bridesmaids' dresses and all of the tuxes from Pure Bliss. They didn't give any deals for this large purchase. My mom's dress was so disappointing as she ordered a particular color and it didn't come out to the color she selected. The owner did not even acknowledge the situation and made the experience frustrating and stressful. The tuxes for the men did not come in until three days before the wedding! Some of them had to be altered which caused for additional trips for fittings. In addition, the store would not contact the men about their tuxes and stated that she could only contact the bride as the name was on the account; this made it very inconvenient. The business professionalism at Pure Bliss is nonexistent and I would never recommend anyone going here for any services unless they like poor customer service, an unfair value, and frustration.

Owner was terrible. Expensive dress was not right and she offered no remedy. A very unprofessional owner. Don't go there or to her new store Swoon. This is the first negative review I have ever written.

I found the dress of my DREAMS at Pure Bliss. It was wonderful, and finding it was a really fun process with my maid of honor. The price was really good, and I was so excited to follow through. However, using Pure Bliss was the biggest nightmare of my entire wedding - the only issue we encountered!
First, the service was really touch-and-go. Like the other brides shared, I feel like we were always annoying them whenever we had a question, or went back to them (we ended up going back FIVE times) because things were completely destroyed. It's really bad business, especially when getting your dress is supposed to be such a fun process. I felt like I was putting them out of their way whenever I asked for something, or had a follow-up question.
The suits. We were offered a free tux for the groom and 10% off the rest of the bridal party's dresses and/or tuxes, so we decided to go with Pure Bliss for these. The dress sizes were wrong, so I had to send back three of my bridesmaids to get the correct size dress. This was a minor issue. The tuxes were the biggest nightmare, I can't even describe how terrible it was! We returned every single one except for ONE due to the fact they were either the COMPLETE wrong size, ripped, huge stains, not pressed, ruined shoes, stains on white shirts, up entire legs of pants...they were absolutely disgusting. I think one of them was pressed (out of 7 tuxes we ordered), and when we went back to return them/exchange them, we had to drive all the way back up AGAIN because they came back the wrong size and/or filthy AGAIN. SO, 3rd time's a charm (by the way, these come in RIGHT before the wedding, so we're all very busy at this point with very little time to be driving to and from Newburyport!!!). Still, the groom's father's tux came back the right size, fairly clean, but with a huge rip on the sleeve, which we had to fix ourselves because it was now the day of the wedding.
My dress. It was beautiful and I LOVED it. They promised to steam and press it, and have it ready for pick-up the day before the wedding (right before our rehearsal dinner). I went to pick it up, got it in the car, took it out to look at it (figured I should due to all of the mistakes), and it was never once pressed. I ended up paying $150 to a dry cleaners down the street because I didn't have time to go all the way back up to Newburyport to get it pressed, as they SWORE it was. The dry cleaner said it never was, it was so wrinkled they had to do it twice. When I called to let them know how disappointed I was that all of this happened, they offered up a refund for 1/2 of one suit. That's IT!!! For all the hassle, trips up to Newburyport, stress, mistakes, rips, stains, wrong sizes, etc...that's all they offered!!
I would save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. Our wedding was a complete dream come true and pretty easy and mistake-free...minus this horrible experience that had a ton of people scrambling last minute. We're so disappointed.

Please don’t let them ruin your dress!

The absolute worst. The one and only star is for my initial experience at Pure Bliss. The dresses are beautiful and once I found mine I should have purchased the dress and gone elsewhere for tailoring. If you go to this shop take your dress and leave before they con you into exorbitantly priced and butchered alterations. When I found my dream dress I asked if a couple things would be able to be adjusted to make the dress fit me a little better and the answer was a resounding yes and that it wouldn't be a problem so I purchased without hesitation. I was thrilled and bought the dress that day. Not knowing any better, I signed up for my first fitting. At the first fitting they let me know how inconvenient what I was asking for was for them but reluctantly agreed to adjust what I had originally asked for. Needless to say that after 4 fittings that each added hundreds of dollars in CASH ONLY alterations the dress no longer even fit me despite having bought a dress that was several sizes too big. They blamed me for the dress not fitting and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them at each visit. I don't live nearby so I missed many days of work and paid over $1000 for alterations that ruined my dream dress. I exercised like crazy for weeks leading up to the wedding in a last ditch effort to fit in the dress. I thought my efforts paid off but on my wedding day the alterations had been messed up so bad that the dress twisted around with every movement. I could barely dance without feeling so uncomfortable in the dress. Tons of my photos are unusable because the back of the dress looks so twisted and bunched up. I do not ever ever leave bad reviews but I balled my eyes out over what was supposed to be the dress that made me feel like a princess for a day. I don't want any bride to go through what I went through with this shop. PLEASE PLEASE take your dress anywhere but here for alterations!

I had trouble finding the dress I wanted but was so excited when I finally did at Pure Bliss. My first visit to buy the dress was easy and exciting. That was in April 2010. They had told me that the dress would take 6 months to come in which was standard from what I had read. I was not worried since I wasn't getting married until May 2011. Well, October 2010 came around and I left a message with no call back. November came around and same thing. I finally got someone on the phone and they told me my dress had come in wrong and they had sent it back and they "didn't want to worry the bride". I was more worried that they were not communicating with me about a major delay. The told me I would have to wait until February (10 months after originally buying the dress!) I put up a fight and eventually got the dress in in December. That should have been my first indication this place was no good. On my first fitting, the dress did not fit, like reeaaally too tight. The owner insisted it was my bra that didn't fit and it wasn't the dress. She wanted to put straps on my strapless dress to cover the parts that were too tight instead of letting it out a bit. Then she suggested the dress was unfixable and that I should look at getting a new dress - this was less than 1 month from my wedding. I found the owner unhelpful, frustrated and unprofessional when working with me and my family. My mother and best friend agreed. I finally came to my senses and took the dress from them to a local tailor shop who was friendly, and fixed my dress with ease. The alterations that were done at Pure Bliss were extremely expensive and I regret that I didn't pull my dress from them much sooner. Their fitting hours are ridiculous (only Tues & Fri afternoons - and they close at 5pm) - completely inconvenient for anyone who works and/or lives far away (I had both problems). I would not recommend this place to anyone.

GET YOUR ALTERATIONS DONE BY SOMEONE ELSE! I figured this place specializes in wedding dresses so they must know what they're doing! NOPE! I had a great experience finding and purchasing with Maxine at Pure Bliss, but then had the dress brought to the sister store Swoon for alterations because it's closer to me. The first appointment wasn't bad but the 2nd and 3rd were stressful and horrible. The alterations looked terrible and the tailor, Janine, gave my mother and me so much attitude that it became uncomfortable. At the 3rd appointment I ended up having her basically undo everything she had done except for the hem, but she still charged me for all of it. After that, all that was left for her to do was the bustle so we scheduled a pick up date. I asked for a french bustle which is when they tuck the extra material underneath the dress and tie it with ribbons. My mother picked it up this week and it had hook and eyes on the outside of the dress - the complete opposite of what I wanted. I brought my dress to my regular tailor and it was worse than I thought. She said that Janine "BUTCHERED" the dress and was absolutely horrified at what she had done to it. My tailor thinks that she might not be a real seamstress and has absolutely no clue what she is doing. The dress is all lace so the hem needs to be done in a certain way to preserve the detailed scalloping at the bottom. She had cut it off in the wrong place and also cut it in places where it shouldn't have been cut at all. Then she reattached it horribly and there were holes, gaps, and bunching all over. After all that butchering, it was still more than 2 inches too long, so my tailor had to completely redo the hem so I wouldn't be tripping over it. Also, there was damage to the beading around the waist, a bunch of holes in the back, and my tailor discovered that the dress had been taken in on both sides of the row of buttons going up the back. Explains why it was so tight at my second fitting. What a disaster!

What a horrible experience I had at Pure Bliss! I purchased my wedding dress there and when I tried it on it appeared the dress maker made some type of stitching error. The dress was all bunchy and wouldn't lay flat. Something was clearly wrong with the dress and Pure Bliss tried to fix it but was unable. The main problem came when it was decided that the dress couldn't be fixed and I needed to get another dress, this all occurred about a month from my wedding. Luckily I found an off the rack dress there that fit perfectly. But instead of exchanging the dresses they only gave us a credit for about half the cost of the original dress! It wasn't there fault that the dress came incorrectly made but they should have tried to rectify the situation by crediting us the full price. The owner was completely unflexible and very inconsiderate! I don't recommend this bridal shop to other brides!
