Puddledock Gathering Post was the first thing we booked for our wedding. We had followed as the barn was renovated and absolutely fell in love with the ceremony site. The barn, farmhouse, and the grounds are beautiful. The attention to detail is evident and the pictures show it. What the pictures don’t show is how wonderful the owners are. Jake and Kelsi are wonderful to work with. They were available for any questions and were at the venue the day of our wedding. There was rain on the forecast for our wedding day, they were helping track the weather and as the rain began to fall Jake made sure I was protected from the rain. They then rushed our guests to the safety of cover and helped put together a beautiful ceremony in the barn. Jake and Kelsi created a beautiful venue and are truly wonderful to work with!

We had an amazing wedding at Puddledock Gathering Post. The venue itself is beautiful and so well maintained. The owners, Jake and Kelsi, were amazing and so helpful throughout the whole wedding planning process. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to hold our wedding.

We had our wedding at Puddledock in October 2020. It was a stressful year to have a wedding with COVID, but Kelsie and Jake were one of the most flexible vendors we had with options during this difficult time. We were super appreciative that they added a tent with heaters at no additional charge due to the seating limitations.

The grounds are well maintained, the farmhouse is beautifully redone (my sister joked that she wanted to hire them to decorate her house), and the barn has radiant floor heating, which was perfect for our chilly fall wedding. Kelsi was also super prompt with responses to our many questions. I would definitely recommend this venue, and it has many great options for photos!

My wife and I booked our August 2020 wedding at Puddledock Gathering Post with a $3500 deposit. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic surfaced, and we knew we would not safely be able to host our 175+ guest event. Many emails were sent to us, full of constant changes and contradictory information. In two separate emails, however, the owners stated that if restrictions of 50+ guests were not lifted for August, we would get a full refund of our deposit. I trusted their word, but the inconsistency was too much.
Days before we were expecting our refund, Kelsi & Jake sent another email stating deposit refunds were no longer allowed. Our hearts were broken. My wife’s mother, a Critical Care nurse, had gifted us the $3500 as her wedding present. It was a large sum of her savings, and it was pocketed by Kelsi and Jake.
Kelsi and Jake provided us with options for 25% off the remaining balance, or move our wedding until next year. The Speed’s short-notice email was inconsiderate for us, our guests, and our vendors. We had no choice but to move forward with our backyard wedding that was already well underway in plans due to the inconsistency that we were being provided.
They lied to us, took from us, and relied on OUR savings to keep themselves afloat, while we know very well that there was tremendous state and federal aid available to them, such as the Small Business Loans.
I am still in disbelief reflecting on how they made such a special event in our life into a torturous and greedy situation.
Bottom line: if you have any concerns about COVID-19 or any natural disaster affecting your wedding, I would consider your options carefully.
